banom:Why do you have to refer to my mom in this matter, bastard? And to refer to her as being dead? You are an idiot and a fool for saying that. Why can't you refer to me and deal with the issues. I have every right to call her an ashawo since Genevieve is the issue. You are a dumb fool who cannot intelligently rebut my statements, which is why you got personal. Your entire family is a bastard and a retard, including your father and your mother, fool. If you have a problem with me calling her an ashawo you should adduce evidence that shows otherwise. The ashawo allegation is supported by empirical facts and are public info, so what is your problem? |
I will never embrace any accolade received by a renowned bonafide ashawo like Genevieve. |
I am happy for her, but I am not insanely happy because it is not a big deal, and I don't think it deserves this much exhilaration. It's like screaming around because some Nigerian, say Jim Iyke, was chosen among one of 50 most beautiful people in the world by Entertainment Magazine. So? |
you guys are acting like Genevieve was conferred a ministerial position, or that she was awarded a humanitarian title by an international entity or performed an extraordinary duty. What is Genevieve famous for? She is famous for being a bonafide gold-digger. Oprah ko Appiah ni. Abeg make I go sleep. |
Abeg there is nothing wrong with Siasia. Those critics have forgotten that he has taken two or three teams to the finals in both the World Cup and in the Olympics; yet, he was assigned coach of the Flying Eagles barely three months ago, that's without accounting for all the procedural, political, and administrative problems he had encountered at the hands of the NFA. Still, the losses are respectable in that the team played well but were not able to strike on target, and that they played both games a man down and conceded an unfair penalty in game two. |
I believe the poster should be more wary of 419ers than kidnappers. |
He is in Saudi to learn Sharia laws, so that he can implement them in Naija. |
I just watched the game, and I think the Nigerian players played excellent. It was respectable loss, in my opinion. I think the goalie was excellent on goal; he made excellent saves. They created many chances but were unfortunate not to get one in. There is no cause for alarm since the tournament is just starting and the team has both quality players and a good coach. |
oooh! Our leaders are not ashamed of themselves. You frequently go to foreign lands for medical check-ups; and now to the launching of a university in another foreign land, while your country's medical system is dysfunctional and universities closed, during the UN General Assembly, is a disgrace to someone who has shame. Unfortunately, he has no shame. |
Abatakan:Also I believe people have a right to protest his bid for candidacy. What I was implying by my statement is that in a true democracy the people's voting power is usually sufficient to check corrupt politicians from winning elections, since most reasonable people won't vote for them. In Nigeria, on the other hand, corrupt politicians rig elections, so it is difficult to check them. People, nonetheless, should still protest. |
Abatakan:Those two scenarios are factually distinguishable: Ambassadorial posts are political appointments; gubernatorial positions are democratically elected. If you were to make a law which prohibits children of former dictators from running for a post in which voters have a choice of voting for them, how far will you stretch that law? Will all his descendants be banned, and don't you think such rule would be subject to abuse, in which case a future president could use it to prohibit people from contesting for positions based on what their ancestors did? |
He has every right to contest in the elections, just like voters have every right to cast their vote to their preferred candidate. If he were to contest the problem would be that, flush with cash that was looted from the Nigerian treasury during his father's regime, in conjunction with the history of election fraud and ballot rigging in Nigeria, he will probably bribe and cheat his way into the office, where he will be an ominous vestige of his father's repressive regime. |
Sammy107_d:since you are also here, i suppose you are one of the idiots. |
azeezbaba:I did not know about the bill. Interesting. |
Based on Nigeria's history with respect to the arrest and prosecution of assassins of journalists and other citizens, and the pervasiveness of bribery of magistrates and justices and police officers, coupled with laws which do not favor the freedom of the press, an unfortunate but plausible scenario is that the Inspector General of Police (IG) is on the payroll of the devils who masterminded this heinous act, or that the detectives, if any, are grossly incompetent or lack the requisite infrastructure to effectively and judiciously solve the crime therein; that is to say, it is highly improbable that the assailants will be apprehended, and even if apprehended, that they will face nondiscriminatory justice. May his soul rest in peace. Sad. |

Washington has rejected the appointment of Tunde Adeniran as Nigeria’s Ambassador to the United States, nearly five weeks after his son, Adedamola, was arrested in Baltimore for gang rape. News of the rejection broke on Thursday, two months after U.S. Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, visited Abuja and pledged a tough stance against the inconsistencies of Aso Rock functionaries. Adedamola was arrested last month alongside two other Nigerians for the offence highly loathed in civilised societies, including the U.S, where sexual immorality costs Americans their political aspirations. The arrest was reported on August 25. Neither Adeniran nor Foreign Ministry officials could be reached for comment on Thursday. He was appointed to replace Oluwole Olurotimi, whose racial row with Foreign Minister, Ojo Maduekwe, ended his sojourn in the U.S. http://allafrica.com/stories/200909180482.html http://news.onlinenigeria.com/templates/?a=8178 |
I like Jim Iyke. A lot of Naija girls who recently disavowed his engagement to a Jamaican lady have resorted to hating the guy. Jim purported that he is engaged to Jamaican chick because she is exotic and intelligent, which does not appear to resonate kindly to his legions of female admirers all over the world, especially Naija female admirers. Our culture does not appear to embrace people whose character differ from the status quo, and the standard by which people are judged is some fictitious standard which has no place in a modern world. |
The African men are not romantic because out of the 95% of the African men who you say are not romantic, 100% of them are probably old and ugly and local, and you chose them because they paid your rent or take you shopping. If that's the type of men you pick, then that is what you will get. |
mystics:You need a housegirl aka omo odo. |
He is silent because he does not want to end up in Kirikiri. |
that serves them right, sha. First of its kind in 10 yrs? I know a lot of people in Naija who have gone without power for wks. And it happens many times. |
just do your part as ladies and he will do his part. All these diaspora-influenced Naija ladies running their mouth about all the things they won't do before marriage is funny. What if your bf tells you the same thing--that he won't perform his bf roles before marriage. Will you like it? And those are the same ladies who will be the first to complain about how Naija guys ignore diaspora girls and jet to Naija to find a wifee. |
Omosexy is beautiful, but only if you judge by Nigerian standards. Since I don't use that standard, Omosexy looks "aiight" to me. She looks like Ciara, though, but Ciara is a little fresher and a little more beautiful, again judging Ciara by Omosexy's standards; that is to say, they both are broad shouldered alright looking chicks. I don't think their names should be mentioned in the same breath of discussing beautiful women. Please end this thread. |
tpia.:you are a fool. Yes--a fool. A big one for that matter. For you to lump up amala, ewedu--a staple in Yoruba culture--into one box with tribal marks to be attacked by your xenophobic comments exemplifies how much of a buffoon you really are. To call amala, ewedu, and tribal marks cowardly, insulting, ugly, black, , shows that you lack self esteem, and you are trying to downgrade another just to uplift your moronic self. And to implicitly ridicule amala, ewedu, and tribal marks by referral to religion--"they are too religious, christian, muslim,"--shows that you have no regard for God. |
Even though tribal marks is our culture, I am strongly against it because it does not give a person the power to decide whether they want the marks on their face in the first place. |
