Politics / Re: Nobel Laureate [wole Soyinka] To Start New Political Party In Nigeria by princekevo(m): 6:06pm On Jul 21, 2010
I jst began to discover that Nigerian problem is not only corruption, but hypocrisy. Jst few months ago a poll was created in favour of splitting Nigeria as a nation and against. I cant imagine reading some comments from the same people who voted in favour of one Nigeria. I recently discovered that such hypocrisy on NL has eating deep the bone marrow of our political system by pretending we are still one Nigeria, where in our hearts you must be Omo Ibo, Omo yoruba or an aboki. Hypocrite is one of the biggest disease that had kept us backward and it will keep holding us back until we decide to be sincere to ourselves.

Politics / Re: Lagos State: Soon Parents May Go To Jail For Flogging Their Children - News by princekevo(m): 8:04am On Jul 10, 2010
Nigerians with a all the hard upbringing from school and home still remain one the most corrupt country with the highest rate of social evils, how much more when  they are being allowed to roam like ships without shepherd.
Who ever raise such motion should be suffering from copy mentality. Nigeria is a state with norms , value, Culture, and tradition.

Why would the government tell me how to bring up my kids, the same government will have the guts to give the child a jail term if he turns out to be a threat to the society. So why wont i do everything to make him a better person to the society?

This idiots at the house of assembly drive pass kids on the street of Lagos hawking for survival, they never raise any motion on how to save them, yet they want to save the once in a home under their full parents care. That is very funny.

Foreign Affairs / China Executes Top Chongqing Official For Corruption by princekevo(m): 5:47am On Jul 08, 2010
China has executed the top justice official in the city of Chongqing as part of a crackdown on corruption.

Wen Qiang, former director of the Chongqing Municipal Judicial Bureau, was the highest-ranking official charged in connection with the scandal.

He was convicted of accepting bribes, rape and shielding criminal gangs.

Dozens of officials have been prosecuted as part of the clampdown, initiated by Chongqing's Communist Party boss Bo Xilai.

Wen served as the huge municipality's deputy police chief for 16 years before becoming its top judicial official.

According to Xinhua news agency, he was convicted of taking more than 12m yuan ($1.76m, £1.16m) in bribes either in person or through his wife.

He also took bribes to protect five organised crime gangs and, in August 2007, raped a university student
In May Wen lost an appeal against his death sentence, after the high court said the evidence against him was clear.

His wife and three of his associates were tried alongside him and jailed.

His sister-in-law, Xie Caiping, was also sentenced last year to 18 years in prison, for running illegal gambling dens.

To date more than 90 officials have been prosecuted as part of the high-profile crackdown, which began in the southern city in mid-2009.

It has increased the popularity of Bo Xilai, and is being seen by some as an attempt on his part to secure a spot in the governing politburo.

But despite this high-profile campaign corruption among officials remains widespread, says the BBC's Damian Grammaticas in Beijing.

This worries China's leaders, who are seriously concerned that public anger at levels of corruption is undermining support for the Communist Party.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/world/asia_pacific/10535226.stm.

When i saw this on the news i was wondering when Nigeria shall invoke this capital punishment as a consequence for corruption. A country like Nigeria where corruption has become a way of life, the only way to get rid of it or reduce it to the lowest minimum is introducing such punishment as this. I know the only thing Nigerians and our political leaders are afraid of is to death.

TV/Movies / Re: Ghana Slams $1,000 Fee On Nigerian Actors by princekevo(m): 2:54pm On Jul 06, 2010
The relationship of Ghana and Nigeria has always been the case of an adult and the kid. Sometimes is good to give them a bite back let them see how it hurts

I don't even blame Ghanaians rather i blame the actors and actress that goes there to join them in that drama they are presenting. Has anyone watched Ghana drama(movie) recently? These Nigerian guys should be ashamed of themselves, instead aiming for holywood they are aiming at Ghana drama industry. Very soon Nigerian actors and actresses will be rushing also to Liberia to get acting jobs. We no dey shame again.

Sports / Re: Nigeria Will Not Reverse Team Ban: by princekevo(m): 8:35am On Jul 05, 2010
The Nigerian Football Federation's top two officials have been sacked in a bid to appease the country's president who suspended the team after the World Cup.

NFF President Sani Lulu and Vice-President Amanze Ugbulam were fired as the federation asked President Goodluck Jonathan to reconsider his ban.

Fifa has threatened to expel Nigeria from world football unless the Nigerian president lifts the two-year ban.

It has imposed a deadline of 1700 BST on Monday for ban to be lifted.

Fifa rules prohibit government intervention in its members' affairs.

The NFF said the two sackings, as well as the dismissal of a member of the federation's technical committee, were carried out "to tender a resolved apology" to all Nigerians over the team's performance in South Africa.

The NFF also promised "to take urgent steps to address the maladministration of football in the country".

No this is "Ego"speaking. A kid that is performing bad at exams, what would you achieve to finally pull him out of school to study at home, where he can't compete with other kids? Am sitting here wondering what this people think they can achieve by pulling Nigerian team of fifa competition jst becoz they are performing badly.

Wayo wayo and paddy paddy government we have in Nigeria has made it very difficult for our leaders to boldly do the right thing. A simple corruption charges slammed on NFF will coz all of them to table their resignation. Why must we distroy a whole building jst to remove a single pillar. I tireoooo!!

But Come to think of it, this ban from GJ is really a funny one. 2yrs ban from GJ + 2years ban from FIFA.Lol!!! Please this our over aged local players with U17 and U21, what are we gonna do with them after 4years without international expirience?
What are we gonna call them by then? I see the same people coming back after 4 years calling them, Old and inexperience player. I think Jonathan is really confused FIFA need to call him back to order.

Acidosis:

Honestly, I see nothing wrong in spending that amount for the 50th anniversary of the nation. Some people are suggesting other necesities like electricity, water, roads, but it seems they have forgotten the billions invested sometimes last year on electricity without any positive effect, the budget allocated for education and other ministry. The problem is not money, but those ingenuous poachers, the executive robbers in the government, the CEOs of the 21st century, and even the contractors.

Please did you sit back to read and reason what you jst put up here? The reason why Nigeria is not moving forward. This attitude of when is Mohammed is wrong, but when is Okechukwu or Segun is right, is killing Nigeria.
Politics / Re: Salary Of A Nigerian Politician by princekevo(m): 8:13am On Jul 02, 2010
{browse over} Next year they will rais another motion for salary and allowance increase. We will all come to NL and start making noise and there it ends. BUNCHES OF COWARD!!!! We are only brave in doing evil even when the consequencies are death sentenced, but when it comes to showing our braveness in putting things right we become cowards.
A Nigerian will be brave to move drugs in china, s,pore knowing fully well he jst signed his death sentence. Tell the same person to carry bomb into Aso rock or NAAS full house he will suddenly remember how sweet life is. {sigh}
Sports / Re: Jonathan Bans Nigeria From International Football For Two Years by princekevo(m): 6:50pm On Jun 30, 2010
LOL !!!grin grin. Nigeria is really in confused state to the extent we don't even know the solution to our problem anymore.
Please to me how can a doctor inject AIDS as an antidote for malaria. Why do we need to send the country's football into grave jst becoz  we need to dissolve some corrupt fools?
Jonathan seems to be confused more than i thought. Why ban Nigerian football for 2years, while a serious and genuine investigation on NFF alone will send their corrupt A$$ packing?
The fools think FIFA will listen to any of their excuses?
Politics / Re: Ekwueme: PDP Agreed On Rotational Presidency by princekevo(m): 4:40pm On Jun 30, 2010
seanet02:

sign of frustration on alex ekwueme, a very corupt man since the early days, seems contracts are no more pouring in for him. shameful lots.

This is jst a clear definition of Nigerian problem. Each time anyone says the truth or stands for something right we term it as a means of getting noticed, frustration or otherwise. Please can any of you criticising this particular speech from ekwueme tell me if wht he said is the truth or false?
It was for this PDP agreement that OBJ (SW) became the president with a northern Vice. We all knew it was for this same rotational agreement among PDP the Ibo's held the post of Senate president for 8years even as many times as they kept on impeaching themselves.

It was for the rotational agreement within PDP OBJ selected a northerner(yaradua) with a southern Vice even when People like Odili, Donald duke indicated their interest to contest for the  presidency. It was for this same agreement people like Orji Uzo Kalu decamped from PDP to contest under another party, becoz he knew that would never be possible under PDP. Jonathan as a rightful citizen of Nigeria is not denied to contest  an election, but should do that under another party or respect the agreement that made him a VP even when he never dreamt of it. You don't climb up through a ladder and remove the ladder from others to climb.

Spyker:

That's why i hate Nigerian Journalism. Why was he avoiding this very important issue.

Has Jonathan ever made his mind known to you he want to run for presidency come 2010? What is he to comment abt it?
Politics / Re: Ekwueme: PDP Agreed On Rotational Presidency by princekevo(m): 11:20am On Jun 30, 2010
Thank God Old men like Ekweme can still say the truth for once before joining his ancestors.
Though i do not support the so called rotational presidency, neither do i even give a damm abt PDP come 2011, but even a kid in Nigeria Knows abt abt PDP rotational arrangement. I was surprised for someone in the position of OBJ denying this arrangement that brought him into power.

It will be a disgrace and as a sign of self denial if Jonathan runs for presidency come 2011 under PDP. No body is denying his right to contest for presidency, but under a different party. Jonathan should respect the agreement or an arrangement that brought him into power as the VP and now the President or rather run under a different party without such arrangement. Truth need to be told even when it does not favour us.
