honestly, i can't remember the title of my first two horror movies. It was so long ago and it was on black and white but still scary as hell. I remember the first one was about undeads eating human brains, and it haunted everyone (except our granddad) for about three years. But the earliest which i can attribute to as the first (though actually the third) is 'evil dead(1983)' which made me a fan of horror and 'unrated' films. |
spywareczar: here's a free download link of the full version for anyone who need it http://isohunt.com/torrent_details/327676121/?tab=summarywelldone.. u just give the guy shut-up notice. |
i just finised watching the video of 'obaro' my favorite of her's. |
our people inflate budget alot...rightly though for the wrong reasons. They spend little or nothing in marketing, why? Let's wait for HOAYS and see how they will go about it. |
Another thing is 'release date'. Most of our movies don't have release date. |
sholay2011: This one na 'real Sci Fi' oh....eh eh. I don't believe this is for an audience that just saw "Avatar" or "Life of Pi".or an audience that just watched 'ironman 3' hehehe... |
Afam4eva: I never mentioned English dialogue. I just said "dialouge" which could be in French, Swahili, Igbo or Yoruba.oh i see.! that is an argumentative fallacy called 'bias ad incognito' commited by my people..because a typical ibadan girl doesn't understand 'english' she hates their movies, call them wack, and prefers yoruba shytes. HOLLYWOOD has the BEST dialogue in the planet and also accounts for some of the worsts.-FACT 2. |
speedyboi: But when you learn from someone, most people become better than their teachers. So i hereby render your point invalidhahaha..nice one..i like u. but without the teachers...(finish it yourself) Besides; Hollywood no be Bollywood 'teacher' na him 'mentor'. He no teach am anything, the guy took the pain to understudy his mentor..just like ghollywood did for nollywood(history) wey people come dey say ghollywood 'iz better'. |
i've not seen this before? i just heard of the movie today from a guy called speedy. ok i'll watch out for this too.. |
semid4lyfe: Seriously, I can't believe this is up for debate and to make matters worse, Afam says their action films are "top notch" and even goes on to mention movies like Dhoom , Don etc lol.HERO (bollywood renaissance film) was also a rip off of 'Mission Impossible'. So this is it, there is nothing bad in doing a slight 'remix' (rip off) if the aim is to improve. When bollywood wanted to make cinematic breakthrough in US it started with action movies which were mostly remix of some hollywood films. But then they got better, stopped doing remix and started out with their own plots. Basically, 'they only used the remixes to train themselves'. Also, remember when the goldendays of naija hiphop (afripop) was about to jump start, in the 90's, most of the contents were mostly remix, yes mostly remix of foreign contents! Then, it metamorphosized into our own style called 'afropop' that we now export abroad. No more remix. The remix then was just a way of learning the trade. Its called transformation. Bollywood has learnt ALOT from Hollywood- FACT.! I don't think Hollywood has ANYTHING to learn from Bollywood. So myfrnd, do the 'one plus one'. And let people who think Bollywood is better than Hollywood keep doing 'one minus one' because na zero them go get.! |
speedyboi: Wait, ADONIS Production? That's the same company handling the production of Izu Ojukwu's '76'. You see what i mean?Wait, IZU OJUKWU? That's the same guy who did SITANDA am i right? I never knew he has a new film coming up..we'll be watching out. |
speedyboi: Did you just say worldwide? Why she no come organize show for 4 Ibadan and see if anybody will come?eg, this one. kai..! why i answer u...yeh..!..i've just been punked. |
speedyboi: Kill yourself!eg? eg this one (u knw wora mean).. |
VillageBoi: 'Nigeria's 'first' Sci-Fi' - Lol are you surprised people at the cinemas asked for their money back!yea i remember Kajola, one of the first niaja films to be thrown out of cinema. Sholay have u seen this? |
speedyboi: Hey which of my posts?all ofit... no, most ofit. |
VillageBoi: Or is that fat guy not called Sam? I don't even know who be who for this sweet show sef lolsure he is called sam, friend to john snow. |
VillageBoi: Hey Prof... where you dey siiiiince!!?my oga..i dey here dey follow una posts ooo...some of speedyboi posts dey make me laff die as e dey fire some people. |
sholay2011: Yes, I meant itwalahi.! me sef think say na play ooo.. it is well sha.. |
hahaha...very funny..the guy who did this must be a badda$$. |
VillageBoi: Teehee, me too! It badly relies on two things - Actors that can pull it off and the score. The score - no problem, finding the right Naija actors here - hard! And this time I will not do it unless EVERYTHING is right.someone looks excited.! Well, that's a good sign dat d film is going to be 'exciting'. But take your time, no matter how much 'we' hurry you. unless EVERYTHING is right. |
VillageBoi: Somadino & Sholay - You both have said it as it is and that is the truth. We're really not ready to tackle certain types of films... because if we do, as usual, we are more than likely to make something mediocre.ANOTHER EARTH is a brilliant movie. Another one is THE FOURTH KIND(Starring Milla Jovovich) although not really good enough but it shows us that u can actually tell a sci-fi story without much VFX and all those stunts. Just something simple like these is good to start with and experiment. So IMO i think Nollywood can actually start with these kind of 'semi' sci-fi before 'graduating' to making stuffs like; 'Ogboni- the great and powerful' (wizard of Oz) or 'Nna the Iron Man 3'. Sci-fi or 'fantasy' is just about telling an extra ordinary story anyhow..abi na? |
sholay2011: I believe the drama genre really needs to be fully explored to bring nollywood into the 'real' limelight. I mean serious dramas, that may even be based on real life events like the aba women riot, a remake of 'Stubborn grasshopper', boko haram brouhaha, book adaptations etc, not blackberry babes and android boyz kinda films. Lol.oga sholay, u got me laffin..which one be 'android boyz' again? |
gendebs: I dare anybody to tell me just one Hollywood movie that beats "3 idiots" in term of creativity and suspencewhat is your definition if 'creativity' and 'suspense' because you actually have to 'know' what you're talking about for you to understand my reply. Afam4eva: I don't even consider "3 idiots" as one of the best Indian movies.Neither do i. VillageBoi: ^^^^^EXACTLY! Out of the HUNDREDS that are out there with more 'creativity & suspense' than 3 Idiots. Even in bollywood. |
is anyone trying to 'molestation' her... #$!![]() |
VillageBoi: Prof na from your comment I just realise say this thread na from last yearmy oga, na so. with dis direction, it seems we should start expecting HIGH SCHOOL movies from nollywood..and it better be d ones that will be of cinema quality (not those idumota cakes) |
baysol: What exactly is the nonsence yuo are saying perhaps the comment struck a cord in an unruly and uncultured type like you. You definitely have nothing to say. Why not then shut up.guy chill na. it took you 12months to reply d guy, and u nor still forgive am. e nor gud ooo. |
katordidi: thats jay z, de dude is a vampire. What do u think.. Forever young? Anyone thinking like me?this reminds me of the movie THE EVENT. Somehow i think d dude is one of those Extra-terrestrial Biological Enities who age at a very slow rate. |
Originalsly: I've not read all the comments but this my say. Cruise ships are the ones that carry passengers.I don't know of any operating between Nigeria and the US.Next...cargo ships which do operate between Nigeria and the US.You would need to be working on the ship to travel. If it is going to the US, you will need a special visa from the US consulate. If not I guess you will have to sneak on to the ship...be a stowaway...and keep out of sight of the crew. If they catch you they will lock you up on board until they get to the port before turning you over to the local police or hmmm...they can throw you overboard. If you are very desperate, then you can always set out like Christopher Columbus and hope for the best...when the Coast Guard approaches you will know you are in US waters...or...who knows...you may discover a whole new world!this iz the badest advice i have ever heard.! |
VillageBoi: Hey Prof, how now? Na real *sigh* but controversy is a good thing... it normally translates into ticket sales... I know I'm very curious.I'm very curious too... and i really hope it will be a big break for 9ja film industry to d world at large. |
HALF OF A YELLOW SUN... . . *sighs* |
this iz got to be good... definitely following. |

. They won't wanna pull Kajola stunt on us again
I don shut up
