affoncad: Please, no matter how educated or how far you have come, share your positivity in peace and let others share their experiences too. You must respect public space and stop constituting a public nuisance by trying to impose your ideology, sense of superiority, and narrative on others in public spaces. This is the simple message others are trying to convey to you!" Apologies that my comments have caused this much anger, it was unintended. My thoughts are that people come on here to get support for their travels. Make una no vex. |

affoncad: You are the one who needs to grow and stop categorizing information as simply 'negative' or 'positive.' The true essence of sharing information is to educate, inform, and use it to your advantage in enhancing your research, preparation, goal-setting, and relocation efforts. If we only focus on presenting information as positive, we miss the entire purpose of sharing it. Whether you choose to see information as negative or positive is your personal choice, but please do not impose this perspective on others! It is my choice also if I only want a positive experience. I didn’t use your education to come this far. |

sanima770: If the choice is for people, as you said, then stop acting like a dictator. This is not your personal space. When someone shares their experience or the reality of life in Canada, you are quick to attack them. Please stop. This is a public space; let people share their thoughts. It's up to the readers to digest the information and apply wisdom to their relocation journey, especially if you cannot prove the information is false! I think you are missing my point that this thread should not be derailed with such advisories. Let it be to support people who need info on their express entry application and not if Canada presents challenges or not. Anyone who wants to relocate had different choices but decided on Canada. That it is not all rosy is an entirely different conversation not dedicated to this space. I don’t have anything personal with people who want to share experiences but when it is always a negative one, I do have a problem with that. E no easy e no easy, where is it easy? |

sanima770: You have constantly shown signs of weakness and a lack of basic understanding, along with a failure to approach information in a smart, digestible way, rather than attacking baselessly. You lack the intellectual capability to understand and pick up vital information; you are just looking for flaws...YOU ARE NOT A SMART DUDE! The choice is entirely for people to make, anyone on here will not change their level of preparedness because someone here asked them to. You should be smart enough to know this. |

Predator188: But who is contending if there's anything wrong in paying bills In canada or not, you want me to start all over again..as if you don't know what I was talking about.. Even canada immigration will tell you before you arrive in canada,be prepared there is high cost of living in canada.. I have said this before, and i am saying it again majority of PR holders in canada, went back to uni or college, some even did online courses to upgrade their skills while doing odd jobs a Canadian will not do to make a living in canada and continue with their quest, and some complained they killed previous career after moving to Canada!with that odd jobs without doing multiple shift and overtime and sacrifice your sleep after tax deduction, you will hardly have savings in bank account after paying all the bills and high price of groceries, ontop of that you may have family back home asking you for the same hard earned money 💰. Stop using nigeria bad economy or exchange rate as an excuse to console your soul ,after all many people was doing very well before migrating to canada . Forget this your warning and help people with information about their application. Any information about most countries is online, anyone that experiences shock is mostly out of ignorance. Emphasis you initially put forward was that of discouragement when you said most of us say we do it because of our children. Allow people learn, even if things don’t go as planned, there are still lessons learned. |

Predator188: Many people that came to Canada for greener pastures with kids, before you ask them why they came!they will tell you they came to Canada because of their children that is why they are here, forgetting that children born here or migrated to canada, will abandon ancestoral roots after staying in canada for years that's bad at the long run, some homes in nigerian villages are now empty because of migration . However Canada is best for children especially Canadian new born children, the government looks after them and elderly, you'll pay your taxes to support this group of people which is not bad. As for the live, there is no live in canada, you will only do shopping and work, and prices of groceries are very expensive because of gst and hst placed on them, your kids is the top priority before work.when you try to make end meet and pay bills, you will find out that, you have no live in canada, yeah live is that bad in canada! As for the work: it will depend on the type of job you are looking for,and income, there are jobs in Canada and same time no job! But with low wage income without two jobs or overtime, by the time you pay bills, car mortgage, car insurance and maintenance , home mortgage, or house rent, phone bill, electricity etc,you may not have much on savings. Whether on high wage or low wage income or status!@ the end of the day,you are only a worker in canada no live.. With PR you can go back to school to upgrade your qualifications is cheap,it is an advantage! But this will add more stress to your live, seeking further education plus work, plus kids, you'll have no choice. Some PR holders are on low wages jobs some obtained masters and Bachelor's degree still went back to school for further studies they have no choice.. Canada weather is the toughest, car is not a luxury in canada, you'll need one for winter!if you can withstand canada winter, you'll be fine.. Temperature is -28°C upto 30° today in some province see my phone screenshot, weather is not smiling 😑 your fingers will feel the frost with or without gloves.. Time for all electric companies in canada to cash out, high bill on electric consumption on home heating. Tighten your seat belt and enjoy the ride .. Knowledge is power, if you don’t have it, you will struggle every where not only in Canada. If you failed in your research you don’t have to start painting the system as bad. There is no system that is perfect but that of Canada cannot be compared with Nigeria. I would even rate Canada above the UK for an immigrant. |

EDIT: No celebrate too much or praise Tinubu. My BDC guys explained that it's seasonal, as diaspora people are returning for the holidays, they are selling their FX in exchange for Naira, which is temporarily propping up naira value. One of them made a funny remark that all the "yankee bois" want to ride on the bad exchange rate to become billionaires in Naira , so they are selling off their dollars more than usual because it will fetch them more this period.
I am not unpatriotic, I support Naira gain, it is for our collective benefit. is the season over? |

HR at my place of work has only given me a standard confirmation of employment with them with the details that ircc expect in a reference letter.

thatsleepboy1: https://dailypost.ng/2024/11/12/naira-slumps-against-dollar-at-fx-markets/ 8.42 Naira difference where the price is 1600ish cannot be considered as a slump, such changes happen everyday in the currency market. This is an intentional attempt to discredit the economy and create panic. It is unbelievable what this kind of journalism tends to achieve when we only heap on ourselves, more difficulty as we aid market distortions with bias news. |

Kcenyimbk: Goodafternoon everyone. Please I’m in desperate need of help and ideas right now. I applied for spousal sponsorship in June 2023, My husband came back on April 2023,got married to me and travelled back to Canada…. We applied in May but our application was rejected due to some mistakes, then we reapplied in June… I’ve done biometrics,Medicals and all documentation… Was waiting for ppr, when I got an email… A procedural fairness letter…. First of all they asked me to prove my marriage the further,by adding more pictures and chats and documentation… That one is not an issue.. The main issue now is that they said I’m guilt for misrepresentation…… I never knew I made a mistake in the form…… To be honest,I filled the wrong box by mistake… In 2017,I was denied a us visiting visa… I think I wanted to go for vacation or something…. I can’t even remember why they rejected me… It was since 2017, So they asked me to prove myself,if found guilty,I will be banned for 5 years…. My marriage is still very young and the emotional turmoil of long distance sef is painful…. I consulted some consultant and she said I should look for the slip they gave me the refusal slip… I can’t find it…. But I had to search my mail and saw the application slip with the application number….. How do we go about it and honestly,we don’t have the funds for a lawyer at this moment…. Pls has any one gone through this You don’t have much to worry about, just clearly state that it was an honest mistake, state the reason you wanted to travel then and the refusal you got and that you also did not reapply. Also State that you are aware of info sharing between US and Canada and it would not have been or any benefit for you to conceal such information especially as it will not have any impact on your application. Then you can add the screen shot and that’s it. |

All u need to do now is get a reference from any logistics company u know (3yrs reference) update ur NOC to transportation manager and u are good to go. Or better still create a second express entry profile with the transport Noc. It is your type that will get people 5yrs ban. |

Ur own aim is to convert back to naira to have a feel of plenty naira...... but the conversion technically makes only little difference because the naira u want to convert to has a very low purchasing power now.. e.g 2.7M tokunbo now goes for 8.5-9M..
But if u can understand ur colleague....T.M shirt is still 3 for 135$ since last year....if u dont gerrit, fogerrit.... No one could have explained this better! |

GraciousWords: Thanks for bringing up this important point.
Black Bold - IRCC has told us that we do not need to satisfy the education requirements of the NOC we choose, which we both seem to agree to, in general. Bone of contention is medical field https://www.nairaland.com/6081746/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/537#101136249
Purple Bold - You may be right especially with the doctor example, which is valid (edited Page 1 to read "except you're a doctor or pharmacist"..... to be fair IRCC asks for a special body to evaluate the ECA for those 2). However, I think (could be wrong) there may be some medical jobs that one can perform competently without a previous degree e.g. auxiliary nurses, where they learn on the job.
A VO is free to ask for ADR during his assessment, however even for medical job, I'm not sure he is free to reject an application because the applicant did not have the education requirements for said job/NOC, provided the applicant actually did perform the duties and can prove it (as your friend did with evidence of training or some other person with a medical job could do with evidence of haven learnt on the job).
This would be a good one to see a judicial review judgement on...like the law, professional degree WES matter
#MyThoughts You too like Judicial Review, practice law you no gree |
