Bro. Those that use study route are more at advantage of getting PR than those outside cos they will give them preference than those outside this is my view though based on how they have been doing the draw stuff all these while
The advantage will only go to the person who is young, has foreign working experience before going to Canada. My spouse fell into such category and got PR based on her health experience from Nigeria while still a student in Canada.

Please if you got NOI but your work history u want to change it from august to September, because that’s when you actually started, hope it won’t affect your profile
I do not think it will affect it, just correct it first on the Express Entry Profile then put in the actual information in the NOI form, it human to make mistakes.

Before the 45 days was up I was the one urging, send it off the door even with few missing documents. Whosai! Immediately they realized time was up, the need to submit came up very strongly. Omo..I was kujaaed to say the least. Why iyanga with 300+? OINP said wait for another draw.
The person must have felt quite strong about his position at that time, we made similar decision too but only because the health draw was more certain.

MrWalterW83:
Hello everyone. Please for those who have some insight on this matter, why do you think there has been no draw for over a month now? This is the last day of November and I doubt we'll see any draw today. That means the whole of November would have passed without a draw. Should we expect any draws in December or are they done for the year? Have they met the alloted number of immigrants for this year?

I'm in the pool at 484. My NOC is 21321 so I'm targeting STEM draw, but there has been no STEM draw since July. Please is there hope for me soon? I'm just getting depressed by the situation. This IRCC silence is just killing me.

Thanks for your responses.
The immigration targets for next year are still as high as they have been from previous years but the selection dynamics have drifted. Large influx of students on one and two year programs are already graduating and that number will be even more explosive in coming months. That means they and their dependents have made the pool more competitive. Now there are new schemes considering refugees for PR (I believe this is to make them productive and reduce government spending) also some new pathways for people from Haiti, Mexico etc. People with better outlook remain health workers, I can guarantee you that many people who used study route may still never get PR considering current conditions. If you are not into health then learn French or seek PNP routes. It is what it is.

Can someone with Canada PR Visa Transit through the UK on their way to Canada? Please who knows for sure.

I checked from the UK's immigration website and it seems the answer is Yes. But I want a secondary confirmation of Yes/No from someone with more experience.

Thank you in advance
For sure you can if the flight’s only stop is in the UK.

This is the message I received
It is sad that an error like this could occur and am not sure how that date was used on your PCC. From experience you will have to wait for another draw. I hope your case will be different.

Obtained my Canada Citizenship last week 3 years 5 months after i landed . Don’t listen to those anti japa people , some of their kids have USA citizenship already.
The Canada immigration has changed a bit since I applied in 2019 but if you meet the requirements and have in demand occupation abeg pursue it o. If you can learn French too please do.

Most of what i learnt about express entry was from Nairaland. I found out a certification i did in 2009 qualified for two or more degrees here. I learnt about gift deed here etc. Canada also has its own challenges but it cannot be compared to Nigeria. The quality of life, access to healthcare, peace of mind and amenities etc.
Me i don signout o. One love 😁
Congratulations!!!

Very true, I have a friend that is less than 30yrs, with 3yrs experience( including her nysc and house job) and had 8 in reading & listening but got 6.5 in writing and 7 in speaking and still her point was just 408 and I wonder why so low….is there any doctor in the house with similar experience?
Her IELTS is leaving so much points on the table. She needs to rewrite. Also she needs to check Medicine as Masters Equivalent. At 30 years, her optimum score is 473. She is definitely throwing away some points somewhere and have missed several draws.

Thanks for the swift response, I asked because someone was telling us she needs up to 2yrs or else the point won’t be high after calculating other parameters..
The person is right with the points thing, but she can still enter the pool while building her points, these days the scores are low for Doctors, 430ish which is not bad.

It is best to evaluate your highest certificate with WES. If you have two certificates, evaluate the higher one with Wes so you pay once.
This is not correct for HND, for HND you have to evaluate the OND also.

Though I've been following this page for a long time, I didn't bother to join or signup but I feel it has really helped me and I should share my experience, as I believe it would help a lot of people as well.

Though I just wrote the IELTS and my result isn't out yet, I am highly positive as I discovered a way that would be very helpful for others.

I wrote the IELTS first in November 2022 (Almost a year ago) and I didn't really have the scores I needed for my express entry application as I needed at least a band 8.0, according to my calculations. I scored L:6.5 R:6.5 W:7.0 and S: 7.5. I was quite discouraged at the time and just decided to jettison the whole process and continue with life in Nigeria.

However a friend of mine who aced the test told me about a place where she got free lectures and all and that aided her personal study. Mentioned the name as Mafit. I looked them up on instagram and didn't really give it a thought per say. So, last month I decided to give the IELTS a crack again, went on British Council to register and lo and Behold the same Mafit is now the official speaking test center for the British Council on the mainland in Lagos.

Went on their site and their IELTS registration fee is not only cheaper than British Council and IDP (I do not know how they manage to do that) but they also give magoosh IELTS premium access for free and organize free physical lectures for 4 good weeks. As at the time I registered, they had another promo going on where they organized live zoom classes for 5 days a week. I swear I didn't pay a dime for all these. Their instructor, Mr. Emmanuel is dope!

It helped me psychologically during my speaking test, as the same hall I did my speaking was where I wrote my mock exam and is also my personal study room that I visit almost everyday after free classes.

Honestly, I don't know how they do it but those guys deserve my trophies. The speaking questions were exactly what was shared during lectures. I don't know if they see these questions before exams but of course, I don't care anyway. What matters is that I saw what I expected.

I'm sure lots of people know these guys and are not saying it. Cos Nigerians will have a pathway and not blow it so that others won't benefit from from it.

They are somewhere on Obafemi Awolowo Way, Ikeja. You can google mafit study center. Not sure of their website but their instagram is bymafit.

I am sharing this without bias because we live in a society that castigates institutions a lot. When we see one that breaks barriers to help people genuinely, we should also mention and give them accolades.

I'll be back to post my results once its out.
Thanks for the free advert Mafit!

Hi everyone. I hope you are all great.

I currently work full- time remotely from Nigeria for an international NGO. The role allows me to work from anywhere in the world. It is actually a full-time employment and not freelancing/independent consulting.

They are willing to provide support for my relocation, however it is a bit tricky. The only way I can think of that they can help is to assist in getting LMIA which I can use for my PR (I'm already in the pool). However, I have been getting conflicting responses regarding whether or not a 100% remote role would qualify for LMIA. Some licensed immigration consultants have said it would and others have said it won't. Has anyone had an experience with a similar situation before?

To provide better context, they hire in any country through what's called an employer of record. So if I were to move to Canada, my contract would be moved to a Canadian employer. So on paper, I currently work for a Nigerian company (they manage my pension, tax, etc), however, I actually work for the NGO. The same would be the case for Canada i.e. my employer would be a Canadian company.

Thanks.
My advice would be for you to try, it doesn’t hurt you in anyway to try

Finally it is each individual’s choice to make, immigrants are not treated differently from Citizens by way of opportunities and while you might be crying foul, many immigrants are breaking the limits everyday. I don’t think life in Canada is harder than one in the UK or UAE or even someone living in NY. Eventually a Canadian Citizenship is worth more than $300k people pay for permanent residency in some poor EU countries.

My PR journey…. 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻

First, I’d like to thank God for making my relocation to Canada a possibility.

I started this entire process in 2020 by verifying by degree with WES and writing IELTS. I created my first Express Entry profile in March 2021 but that profile expired after one year as there were hardly any draws and IRCC was concentrating on the applications that were on hold due to Covid-19. I created a new profile in June 2022, here’s PPR the timeline:

ITA (Invitation To Apply) - 3rd Feb, 2022
AOR (Application received) - 19th March, 2023
Medical passed - 12th April, 2023
Biometric completed - 17th April, 2023
ADR1 (Additional Documents Request) - 1st June, 2023
Submitted - 6th June, 2023
ADR2 - 27th July, 2023
Submitted -28th July, 2023
Passport Request - 21st August, 2023
Passport submitted - 22nd August, 2023
Collected stamped passport and copr - 29th September, 2023
Landed Canada - 18th October, 2023

I’m not even going to lie, I love it here, the exposure, the diversity, the opportunities… everything. I was in downtown Toronto last week for 3 days and that City alone is motivating!!.

I’m a Christian so I was always praying to God about this and thank God my prayers was answered 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻.

This platform was really resourceful, when I came with all my questions, there was always someone willing to respond, especially Profgordons, Littyprincess and Gracious Words Thank you all so much.

I’m grateful for my parents and siblings for their all round support.

If relocating is your dream, don’t give up. With proper research, it’s possible for you to achieve this dream. I am rooting for you
Congratulations and hopefully you keep liking it!

It appears Kenya have a different approach to processing these passports, but if you are not in a haste, not travelling soon and can stand the anxieties of the absence of your passport then you can really send it to Ghana.
