tshtsh: Lol street isn’t smiling. It gets much easier once you get a good understanding of the system which takes some time Remember we are humans, desperation outweighs these thoughts. When you are trying to escape a vicious circle there are many things you will not give credence to. What I have come to understand is that our paths will remain different in life and even if people have found themselves in a slippery situation, all we can do is to continue to provide the support we can. I met a Yemenite a while ago who landed with absolutely nothing, he only had one skill which was to drive. He found a fellow Yemenite who offered him a car on hired purchase without any down payment and with this he started a life. He did complain about the income but at least it put food on his table and he could send money home. These are the basics that many continue to lack and would make them see any other side as greener. It may require more will power than expected but last last we get what we want with determination and good support system which unfortunately many Nigerian communities lack but the Arabians and Indians are on a different level at that. In 50years from now, Canada will return to an ‘Indian Country’. |

Adunnishugar: Hello house,
I need advice as I have almost gotten to the point of giving up on this Canadian PR. I and my husband are in the pool with me as the main applicant. We currently have a score of 472. But it seems like they won’t be calling that any time soon at this rate. I have tried to look into most PNP routes but we don’t fit into any as I don’t have any family in Canada, I don’t have tech experience either.
Is there anything I am over looking ? Is there another route we can consider for PR ? Please I need advice. My NOC is Administrative Assistant. I have considered learning French but I think it would take me too long as I am overwhelmed with al lot of other activities at the moment. I will consider your last statement the most. Those overwhelming things, are they more import than your quest to experience Canada? With determination and proper planning I believe you can achieve something for yourself and your family. There are many things you may have to give up temporarily to achieve that. |

Threemg: SOS ALERT! Good day friends, please kindly treat as urgent. Through GOD'S favour we had our parent's TRV application approved and fast forwarded to sending of their passports. They were duly instructed on how to go about it using a courier service, DHL (Sango OTA) specifically to VFS Lagos. Upon tracking, DHL showed delivered on Tuesday 29th August but VFS/VAC are yet to send any mail either of acknowledgement or a mail of the passport transmission to Abuja. Please is this normal, do we need to be worried? I'd greatly appreciate your feedback or anyone who's had a similar experience please. Many thanks Be calming down, 29th here here, lol. |

Pauclipse: Good afternoon everyone! I am still a newbie in this Canada express entry visa discourse, so please pardon me if my question comes a little bit off.
My name is Paulmiracle, and I work as an administrative officer in a State Government Hospital and currently I have been nursing the idea of applying for the Canada express entry through the occupation specific draws.
Under the Healthcare occupation I want to apply as a "Medical sonographer" that the closest thing that allies with my job designation as an Administrative Officer that works in a Hospital.
I want to ask, is it a wise thing to do?? How possible is this?? Medical sonography and Health Administration are not even related careers. You may have to think of something else |

Favourphilic: It's like this, for Pharmacist, you are not directly sending them your current practicing license. What happened is that PEBC will except your professional body ( PCN in Nigeria) to send them a letter of good standing ( of course to get a letter of good standing, you will have met requirements and have a current practicing license)Practically we are saying the same thing! |

Please do I need to submit a practicing licence if I get a nomination (OINP) in Ontairo in a regulated occupation?
I don't understand what they meant in their write-up (attached image) please.
Could this be for people working in Canada already?
Thanks. Yes |

She actually has no worries, it will get updated. |

tshtsh: Lol I’ll start by reminding that Canada is an expensive country due to the high standard of living and a system in place to push/pull as many people as possible towards the middle income bracket. However it’s worse for naira earners due to exchange rate issue. There are somethings we take for granted in Nigeria which is quite a big deal in canada for instance home ownership. Please if you own a house or land do not sell it . Work towards earning the money you intend to spend in Canada in Canada. It’s very possible as I did it and most of my friends also did. You can do it by getting a job before landing or if you’re a family person land first and your family joins you after you get settled as this way you get to spend less of your naira savings. It is also easier for a friend to house you than to house you + your family .
I also believe that moving to Canada for a high skilled work should be more of continuity and not necessarily restarting life. Many will tell you about starting with survival jobs and all but please aim for the high skilled jobs right away. It may not be easy but the more you try the higher the outcome. Try to spend more time around people who moved to Canada via express entry like you’re doing and less time with people who came via aduro. The mindset is different as they may be advising you on how to work around the system to get this benefit or that benefit. Kings don’t live on benefits. Lastly my boss once told me Canada is designed for two people (household). Make proper plans and you’ll be alright . God bless. You could not have said it better, the way you come in determines a lot. The household thing will teach many people new stuff. I think the average home in Nigeria looks up to the man as the sole provider but that will change quickly. |

Expecting those who got PPR years ago to consistently and continously show up here is like asking a graduate to keep living on campus just to show loyalty. When people tag us on questions, we show up.
People move on and priorities shift.

Please, do you know if WES now evaluates AAT as being equivalent to any Canada qualification and if it will count as 2 or more certificates when combined with a Bsc?
I know ICAN ACA was useless, has this changed?
I wish everyone on this journey GOD's speed and divine favour in the sight of the VOs, medical officers and anyone working on your files

I have a question though, my wife changed the name on her passport post AOR, but the name on the PPR is still her maiden name, hope it doesn't matter? The ppr carries the passport number on the new passport though. I think you will need to support this with other change of name documents like marriage certificate if you haven’t. |

Emma549: Hello House, Happy to have found this thread. Please I need your professional advice. I am coming to BC in September with open work permit with my wife who is the student with two years Msc program study permit. I am an Electrical Engineer with over 10 years experience. I also have over 8 years experience in Heavy duty equipment services and maintenance.
I am thinking of challenging the trade certification in BC for construction electrician, and honestly when I took some practice questions it is very different and more advanced from what we practice here in Nigeria, I have been researching on how and what to do to ace the skilled trade BC Red seal interprovincial exam.
Please house I need your useful information on this.
Additionally me and my spouse are in the express entry pool. I am 31 years with CRS of 366. My wife is 27 years with CRS score 469.
What certifications can I take in Canada that will boost my CRS points?
What other things can I do to increase my CRS score?
Please I need best advice to get PR in Canada fast. Target is to get PR before one year in Canada.
I need experience and information that can help this out profile to become permanent residents.
Thanks so much Red Seal trades are not by writing exams alone, you must have completed the required years of apprenticeship and provincial exams. |

ednut1: have you seen Nigerian trades people going to Canada . Best bet is by study visa , marriage , being a secondary applicant to a spouse who qualifies for express entry or going with visit visa to try look for a job there You are correct, trades have direct safety implications so are highly regulated. It is easier to study a BSc than to enroll and complete a trades program. An anomaly I see is that one requires a PR to enroll in most trades programs unless if you already have a transferable trades program like Red Seal. They are aware many are enrolled in trades illegally and that is why they said those years of experience won’t count. |

Tolaaa: Hello everyone.
Please I just got update that my medicals was passed yesterday so things are coming along fine.
However, I'll be relocating from Nigeria end of next month to Estonia in Europe to do my Masters.
Am I supposed to update IRCC or anything? I was thinking of how I'd send my passport when PPR comes (the closest VFS centre I can see from Estonia is in Russia .) when it occurred to me I might need to update IRCC. But in any event, am I supposed to update IRCC that I've changed my location at this point in time or wait?
Thank you. Just wondering why you will make such a decision at this verge of obtaining a PR. You can get quality education as a PR holder at reasonable cost as would add to your Canadian Experience. But if it is a decision you must make then you can always travel to anywhere you want to and send a webform confirming your new address only after it has been confirmed. |

tshtsh: Please consider using the land as a collateral to raise liquid cash. Life is a continuum and I discourage as many people as I can from giving up their hardwork for Canada. You can move/transition into Canada without losing any of your assets. It is very possible today. The naira is weak at the moment and the canadian economy will drain your naira very easily Looking like you don tey for abroad. Who will lend you money using house as collateral? It is not that easy, the process of perfecting that loan is prohibitive, better to sell if one is sure of leaving. Later in life one can always buy a new property if the zeal still exists. |

Even when it shows document is being reviewed it doesn’t mean the application is still at that stage, they only have not updated it.
