post=102590396:This your response no follow, you know it, except if you want to pretend. If really the A.GF has such a video at his son's wedding then it doesn't portray good of what office he represents. There was also another video shared online of a wedding in state house where currency was sprayed during wedding fatiha. All these do not represent what the government of the day promised. There's a reason people believe GMB to fit the fight against corruption, and this brought him to power and he became PMB. Hence, it'll be wrong if evidence of him involved in corruption surfaces and you say the citizens should let him be but concentrate on the little corrupt ones around d them. Let everything be tackler wholistically. Leadership should be by truly leading while others follow. |
In recent times there's so much news about other states trying to copy (instead of to learn) from Lagos state and truly the state has earned that status, thanks to successive leadership that were not wasteful, divisive, and dramatic but purposeful, accommodating and visionary. The state attained this feat despite it hasn't reached half its potential, which means provided good national leadership all along we won't be where we are. |
Given justice and fairness, security, power (electricity), education, access roads , easy access to finance, all states in Nigeria will be so productive that this type of journey wouldn't be necessary. |
adioolayi:The Assistant on Media is embarrassing his principal, NCC is NOT National Communication Commission. |
SmartProf:You captured it well. In fact, see all the men, they all strained their necks following her with their eyes, they could not hide their pretence. Hypocrisy. |
naptu2:These words are obviously from an informed angle. Once again, kudos. Your posts add value. One day you too should be drafting and implementing policies, your wealth of knowledge should be the compass, .. If you aren't heading that direction yet but just holding unto the journalism pathway please start considering it now. Best wishes. |
SmartPolician:You make sense on the bloated civil service and productivity, but where there is divergence is the allegation by NLC that the El rufai led Kaduna state government laid off over 40,000 workers in 2016 and till date they haven't been paid their entitlements, and has now penciled down another set to lay off again, which El rufai has assured no going back. And I am yet to read where the state government refuted this claim of non payment of staff laid off in 2016, especially knowing how they provide statistical proof to whatever they are doing. This I believe gives labour more sympathy. |
daddytime:Mature advice. Can't like more. |
PrimadonnaO:That's not WhatsApp status but tweet. Even if it was WhatsApp status update the fact that the boss/colleague saved his/her number can provide the opportunity to involuntarily run into the status update while viewing those of others. Besides, which serious employer wouldn't be concerned about his/her employees? |

OldNairalander:Edit your post. Source is Dailypost and not Daily Trust Newspaper. |
Return the money to Maxwell Odum and let Maxwell return the people's monies to them. Most Nigerians won't learn, always falling for these quick money doubling fraud. |
helinues:Did you really type this? A whole arm of government is shutdown and you say you don't care. You won't be patriotic enough if your bias is only with the executive, all three arms matter pretty much, I believe you know that. Uncountable losses are recorded daily as a result of this strike, and by extension it affects every sector/section of this country's national life, the earlier we stopped being indifferent on most issues yet very concerned only about one the better for us. |
epelumi42:This is the pain citizens face in a weak justice system- you see your right trampled and there's nothing you can do about it than to accept your helplessness, too bad. Seek the counsel of a good lawyer. Let the lawyer examine the facts of the case, where you are wrong/stand to lose and your area of strength (I say this cause you gave bribe for the car too). Afterwards, make informed decision. If you are in Lagos, approach multi door court system as mentioned by someone above. If in Abuja, visit Human Rights Radio. For that neighbour of yours to behave this way,it's obvious he can go another length to hurt you (not saying you should be afraid of him though). Just apply wisdom, be ready to take some losses (try to gain possession of the highlander he earlier gave you using mediation means), it has happened already, case involving police will only further milk you..,get the lessons learnt and move on. |
Disappointed in her for trying to turn an important discuss into a party issue. When insecurity strikes, it doesn't select based on party lines. Today NE,NW,NC,SE, and SW are all experiencing bloodletting daily, it should call for concern. |
NEWSREPORT:Seen. Smart Adeyemi exhibited immense courage here. |
MANNAABBQGRILLS:Hope you won't edit this post shortly! Support for a particular person and political party shouldn't stop one from constructively criticizing them, especially when they start steering away from agreed direction. Lots of supporters can't just turn unsupportive without cause. The leader should be attentive to the cries of his people. |
Wish @Hon. Minister will respond more to the music than the musician. |
PeaceJoyLove:All along you gave good advise until at the last two paragraphs (boldened) where you let your bitter experience with others get best of you. You just concluded all of them, including him. But all carpenters in the world can't be cheats, even the one you are attempting to counsel isn't known to you. Probably you need to heal. |
Stay in Kd with the door business, you must have gotten some customers who will bring you more, consistency is key. Although it isn't bad idea trying other opportunities, but don't close the one you have at the moment to another you are not certain of. Do your feasibility for the new business. Do you have ready customers for the handbags in Lagos? Will you require time to gather customers? Etc. You can actually combine the handbags with doors in Kaduna. |
Vlyrics:These clubs you mentioned are where they are financially because of their choices, and even in a European Super League, they will still be indebted if they don't change their business models and modus operandi. You and the proponents of this ESL need to look beyond the financial forecasts of the moment, you have to view from so many angles the sustainability of this project, viz football in Europe and in the globe entirely. There were times in past Arsenal posted profits, even though they didn't amass trophies. Arsene Wenger maintained a policy of not using extravagant amounts in signing/maintaining a single player,..in his words he said the way some players had huge price tags on them was like the players will enter the pitch and play alone against eleven players. What he meant was caution in running down a club's finances just for signing a few players (mind you I didn't see reasons with him then, but now it's glaring). Just take a look at the huge investments Juventus made on C. Ronaldo, yet they are out of the champions league. Likewise Barcelona in ensuring Messi stays, they are also out. Chelsea spent a fortune on Ziyech, Werner and Havertz, yet these players haven't yet quite justified those investments. Meanwhile the rating of Mbappe has gone very high. What does this tell us? It means there is something wrong with the clubs' models and not the league body. The ESL with teams that won't relegate is modeled like NBA or NFL. But have you considered player movements into and out of the proposed ESL? How about the football and business cycle that will utterly change in Europe with this sudden announcement? Those proposing ESL are only speaking about their project, yet none is proffering a way out for other leagues and businesses that the new formation will affect. These and more are reasons the idea was buried before it's birth. NB: There's a super league model in EU nations League, where countries are grouped according to their strengths. |
jetwonder:FIFA's was only threat, fans factor and global outrage was the main reason. |
onyeogalu1:The proponents have valid argument but are going around it wrongly. You can imagine the embarrassment they have started receiving this evening, one breaking news after another of some of the big clubs withdrawing- Chelsea and Man City in England; Athletico Madrid and Barcelona in Spain, and more to follow. Meanwhile, fans are trooping out in numbers against the move. How will fans of other clubs that used to love watching Real Madrid playing against their local/home club (e.g. Shakhtar Donestk, Club Brugge, CFR Cluj etc) in their domain support such move? Even the players in so called elite clubs enjoy playing against clubs in their home countries. Now with ESL, clubs of some countries will never be a part. |
onyeogalu1:For instance, as at January 2021, FC Barcelona was in debt to the tune of over €1.2B which included money owed for De jong, Coutinho and Arthur. The €500M you cited above that each of the ESL clubs will get can only half that debt, not baring other factors that will arise as a result of the formation of the ESL. For now all the big clubs seem to look at is projection of what they could get, ignoring the criticism that greeted its formation. UEFA, ECA and FAs are voicing against it, and if this is so then these agencies some of which are partly government will sabotage the financial targets of the newly formed ESL. Isn't it funny how the big clubs are considering gains they stand to gain with likes of C. Ronaldo in the super league yet no club from Portugal made the list (except if one makes the remaining 3 or so slots). So Portugal's FA will sit and watch while it's relegated to the background? Therefore, this same way the ESL announced their independence, another league can decide to announce some new rules which will hinder or slow player movement to ESL clubs and this example will be reference. In fact, the FAs can decide to conspire to hike fees for players going to the ESL leagues, how will the ESL mitigate that? This business model the big clubs in Europe are working with is what is plunging lots of them into debt, and their ability to find ways around their laid down rules is what has led to their predicament. If they want to go out of debt, they should reconsider their business models. |
Nbotee:What makes you think the ESL clubs if allowed to run the league won't still be indebted? |
felixnkubi:Let's believe you that truly you don't know ECA is European Club Association (for clubs) and UEFA is union of Europe's Football Associations (including parts of Asia) and that you don't want to google. Clearly, the timing is wrong. The strategy is not clearly spelt out. How others will survive or adjust isn't given time to debate. There's so much the big clubs are overlooking in this their quest for financial superiority. For instance, there is no Portuguese club proposed to form the ESL (European Super League), and may be none may meet up to the remaining slots (3 slots or so). One day Portugal F.A will wake up and announce none of it's clubs will sell a player to a league they can't partake in and that decision will stand, or rather they frustrate the deals. How then can we have someone like C. Ronaldo who the ESL is bragging of large fan base now? UEFA had tried in creating a super league at nations league level where they are grouped according to superiority, replicating same for club should have been carefully examined by all stakeholders. |
felixnkubi:Just one question, who wanted watching Chelsea at top flight European games prior Jose Mourinho's arrival at the club? But when they proved their worth have they not become favourites in top flight? Likewise Man City. The argument ECA and EUFA are putting forward is the timing is wrong. There's already planned review in 2023 or so, why can't the top clubs make their positions using this avenue, and if they can't wait they should have involved all stakeholders before abruptly announcing their breakaway, thereby causing all this hullabaloo. |
Centrallock:What if Bayern signs Ronaldo and PSG Messi, will the ESL still have them? Change is constant in life but all fronts must be considered while arriving at the change. So far, those pushing for ESL have only put forward argument on how sustainable the league will be, without mentioning how those in UEFA leagues that are not in the ESL will/can be sustained. Although it's true these bigger clubs have fans all over the world, but it seems they want to push things (their fame) a bit too far. For example, when a big team like Real Madrid is drawn in group stage with a club like Olympiacos, their away game in Greece gives Greeks opportunity of watching them live and it leads to robust culture experience. Now they want to lock star players across just four to six countries, this is sad. |
Dannyozs:I can't like your post more. You have captured it well. In fact, those proposing this idea have not categorically stated in clear terms a roadmap for the other clubs that are currently on the UEFA competitions, they are just talking about themselves. They are mentioning how sustainable their league will be, leaving the other flip side that might suffer result of their action. Football is a team game, pass to me I pass to the other or score a goal, but more than one person play together. Now they want to pull out and in a dramatic and drastic way, supposing there weren't the other clubs would any of these giant clubs have attained the superiority they claim? This is a question they should answer. Any design of another league aimed at improving the sport should be approached wholistically and with all stakeholders, not this way that overnight a handful of superiors decide to raise dust with this announcement. Even transfers of players will be affected, they need look into that too. Change is constant and sometimes present better options but it must be well considered before being adopted. |
TOPCRUISE:Time to have more glaring and blatant "fixed matches". |
codemaniacs:That advise is a great one. Musa should consider building one in Lagos, Lekki to be precise. BTW, Musa is not from Kaduna too, and where he cited it (Janruwa along Yakowa road) is not where bias (being Muslim) would have allowed him to. |
post=100817353:He built it from his personal purse. You are right in the bolded, he is a great guy. Wonderful idea. |
