winterfell007:First, Lagos does not have the largest population in Nigeria, Kano does. Secondly, don't hesitate to carefully and with a learning mind read the words that brought about the statement you quoted/mentioned! |
Cc royalroy] Your experience isn't a sweet one but surely it is one that can have happy ending... Do you know why? Beacause you are fortunate to - 1. be alive to tell your story, meaning you can change the narrative if you act right 2. you already know the causes of your set back, so why not avoid them? i.e. your wife and her family. 3. Your kids will not suffer what you suffered because of the consciousness you attach to the desire to not have them tow that path. In your case your dad neglected you, in their case you don't sound like one that will neglect them, except if you choose to and as for their mum you can't force her to give them care and love beyond what she intends giving. Finally, it's obvious you still love your wife and you also don't want to tow the path of divorce, if after thorough and careful considerations you find you still want you two then make up your mind to carry the cross while seeking divine help for her trusting God to help rescue her. Wish you best. |
BabaIbo:You know clearly that lots of the programmes or activities hosted in Lagos by private organizations e.g. this very one are not government initiatives, let's call things as they are. Yes Lagos hosts port of entry and it's the commercial hub of the nation, but don't forget it is still a state, without effort by those who led and are still leading it, it wouldn't be so attractive. Creating enabling environment for something to thrive is the bedrock of any venture. In Lagos you have so many initiatives/programmes, bodies and agencies you don't find in other states in Nigeria. A clear example are states bordering Lagos and those bordering the FCT. Whereas those close to Lagos have capitalised on their proximity to Lagos those close to the FCT haven't . It boils down to what kind of leadership and governance a state has. |
Coldie:In fact, just Lagos. And it's because that is where initiatives work, coupled with open door governance that welcomes ideas, unlike the conservative approach most or other states take. Abuja's case is because it is FCT, that's all. |
GAZZUZZ:Buy sir. |
GAZZUZZ:Congrats. That's a lovely ride. Please do you have idea where in Lagos I can get this tool for resetting SBC/ESP of w211?
|
Buzx:That's sad. And it's the tale of humans in this country, very sad. Both humans and animals are suffering here. |
Buzx:See all the places the bird passed only to be catapulted in Nigeria.... Something is very wrong with us as a people! |
Like play progressives will soon reach 16 years in power and equal PDP 16! |
Omooba77:I liked the comment without checking who made it until I read yours my attention was drawn to it. Funny. |
Nbotee:ROTFL ![]() |
Yankee101:Sounds same but not the same as you put it. One of the pros of banking digitization was to address this issue and save bank time and that has been achieved already. Will you say it is the same thing when your bank debits for instance sms charges, or interest on facility from your account and you are yet to get debit alert, proceed to make transaction only to realise your balance wasn't what you were thinking? |
alizma:Please where did you read 'cheque' that you are basing your argument/support on issuance of dud cheques? Issuing dud cheque is criminal offence already. PS: The platform is electronically programmed. If this is the case banks and other financial institutions should be made to compensate customers and pay fine to CBN for every failed transaction that is caused by system failure or network e.g. switch or network inoperative issues. |
Yankee101:Cheque you said, not electronically programmed transactions. Please. |
techmo:Don't mind that person up there defending this heartless act among so many at a time life is difficult for average Nigerians. He/she based his/her support on example of dud cheque, but didn't consider other unforseen circumstances that the financial institutions are responsible for - one being they will debit charges and not send SMS notifying one of such debit on time, hence one assuming a balance that isn't real, and most times they blame network for delay in debit SMS. Other times one has to try multiple times to effect transaction due to error messages (e.g. the famous network inoperative) only to realise one finally scaled through. It's so annoying reading people support everything dished out to Nigerians for reasons best known to them. |
PR Marathon. |
The bullet if extracted can be ballistic evidence. |
Mstick:Suffice to add that aside increase in transportation fares that will affect prices of commodities, bandits, kidnappers and militias have expelled farmers from fields so food output is at barest minimum, hence more food scarcity and hiked prices. Sad and helpless situation. |

You can imagine! It's unfortunate ending this craze (terrorism in Nigeria) hasn't happened up till this moment. But this continuous absorption of civilian JTF members in the north east into the army will create more disaffection among regions. 250 members were absorbed into the army in 2016, another 103 in 2018, now 400 in year 2020... |
How much is bottle of beer that the destroyed 1975 bottles are valued at over N200M, abi no be those crates of star shown there? Even if it's 20,000 cartons it won't equal that estimate. May be dem Glenfiddich follow.. ![]() |
Reno can't stand Tukur Buratai in physical combat. BTW, God knows everything and everyone, whoever is culpable in bloodshed God knows exactly how to handle such. |
Na wa o |
seunmsg:Even if it is warehouse of a private organisation engaged in legitimate business? May be took loan to run the business and people are looting it in the name of 'palliatives'.., instead of condemning it you casually post the statement above. Posts on media platforms have a way of shaping narratives and propelling people to act along a particular direction, I wish you knew that you are a household name on this platform and one of those that comment on issues here and you have people who believe in you and will do what you suggest. |
People in Lagos and in all parts of Nigeria should sieve the chaff from the grain. There are bad elements who have taken advantage of the protests to cause untold hardship to others, reason across the nation some have taken to looting even private business premises. It's true no sane society develops without people freely expressing their various views, no matter how different they are, provided it's done in civil manner, but the current state of hijacking protests and turning them violent spells doom. No government or political party or interest group should descend so low as what goes around comes around. |
Racoon:It's annoying how some reason, saying 'only two people died' as if he could have loved to be one of the two, or any of his relatives. The destruction and looting of properties especially those belonging to individuals are wrong and condemnable but the forces that triggered that are the biggest devils. |
TecM0:Don't mind that post, justifying the ills we are seeing these days. There is nothing like coming home to roost in this case, it is pure criminality looting, especially from stores and warehouses that had nothing to do with covid19 palliative. |
Expensive touch error |
saaphiere:This is commendable. So organized. This palliative competes well with the just concluded FG and some state governments' covid19 palliatives. Imagine in some states people are given one sachet of smallest size noodle (indomie)! By the time this protest proves better avenue for palliatives and more people get fed there then it is game over for state control. |
emrain:I tell you. Some people don't read with a mind to understand the message. |
blafulfillersck:I think you didn't get the man's message, he was indirectly telling the government that confronting unarmed citizens protesting with force does not shut the people for ever, rather it fuels it. |
People are donating o. By the time people are sure of better palliatives (food) at venues of these protests nationwide compared to the one FG did during peak of Covid19 lockdown which didn't appear transparent to some then know certainly that there won't be any form of control on the people again. |
Hm Say something else Mr Governor and Chairman. |
