Does it make sense for people to dump their refuse by the road?
Indeed developed countries use street cleaners.
In the USA, you will see markings on the street, that cars should not be parked at a certain time and days as the path should be cleared for cleaning. It may not have the signs of the state government, i mean the trucks but those owners are paid by the authorities.

During winter when it snows, within hours, trucks are on the street cleaning and packing snow to allow free movements.

I agree we need attitudinal change but this is largely pushed by the sincerity of government who has more resources and man power and not push the burden on those who are trying to find ways to survive.
In the developed countries, government subsidizing transportation, health and education to a certain level because they understand the limitations of citizens to meet these capital intensive ventures.

smiley kissMerry

To every one.

Change agents on nairaland: Berem, Omenka,Passing shot etc

To PDP warriors- phockphockman, Barcanista, Abagworo, Chukwudi etc

To the keyboard warriors- who got no chill for anybody with contrary opinion especially foolish opinion. This group ably represented by Sagamite and co ( you know yourselves)

To mods both partisan and non partisan- take it easy in the new year with the ban and threat of it. Mynd44, Lalasticlala

To the ones who argue between Russian Putin and Obama USA who will win a thermonuclear war.
Chill out bro, this ain't computer game. World war 3 is not good and the world won't be pushed into it. Both countries may posture alot publicly but behind the scenes they are allies. Non zero sum game.

To the mad ones who feel they are bringing God message by spamming the religious board with fake signs and revelations about the end of the world.
Get a job, get laid , make babies. Essentially live your lives. God has not reveleaed to man when the world will end. Your wild dreams and highness from.alcohol is no substitute for God's word that no one knows the end of time.
A recent report concluded that humanity is living through some of its best and peaceful times.
Read a bit of history. The world has always knows strife, warfare, sin of incest, rape, murder has been woven from time immemorial to human history.
All these 'signs' you see today has always been with Man and even worse in the past centuries.
There were no laws and human rights yet the world did not end in the past. There were the Vikings, Goths, holocaust, slavery. All of these have essentially been reduced.
End time is not here. wink

To those who read and don't comment. Much respect. Better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and confirm it.

To those who push the envelope of controversial topics- both fake and real. Eg. Making up stories and using fake blogs... Kontinu

No, don't continue. Stop it. It's not nice undecided

To those Nigerians who celebrate all our achievers regardless of how they do it. Please engage your brains in the new year.
That I asked if Opeyemi Enoch truly solved the Riemann hypothesis does not indicate I hate him. I don't even know the brother but we have had too many people misrepresent their achievements and led the rest of us to be scorned before the international community. Abalaka(his concoction of HIV meds did more harm than good), Emeagwali (he was once a rising star but he failed his Phd and yes Clinton made a mistake), Gabriel Oyibo (a mad man if ever there was one).

So some of us are careful to acclaim the latest genius before the right steps are taken. In science, reputable journals and your peers are those who acclaim you and not the mass media especially reporters who have no resources to do proper vetting and checks.

We have had Nigerians do sterling work and original research that was widely acclaimed and respected but we also have had few soil our name. And I suspect Opeyemi Enoch is among them. I don't care if he is a pastor or your lecturer at UNAD. Science and academia don't work that way.

Anyways in a year time, the Clay Institute will tell us if he truly won one of Maths holy grail.

To those who rush to be first to comment with nothing worthwhile to say cry grow up. No prizes for been first to comment.

Finally I dedicate this second space to Musiwa/ and his various monikers eg pus, puois.
Were it not for the heavy images that run down my data, you would have been my favorite nairalander.

cry hate him or like him, he keeps me cracked up.
The emperor of western Nigeria. Greetings from Nigeria.

My own personal thoughts. The girl wondering if its right to toast a guy out and the numerous guys saying its alright. It's a lie. It's not alright. They will boast to their friends and toy with your emotions. After all, he didn't ask you out. We love a bit of chasing.

The ones who advocate condoms don't prevent HIV. Stop that lies. Don't bring your personal opinion to science. Some people only encounter with true knowledge, comes from nairaland. Condoms work. Early sex education also helps youngster make better decisions.

To those who create fake statements and attribute it to Soyinka, Nwabueze, and other elite Nigerians. Be a man and stand by your own thoughts. Like Fayose does.

Who else?
I'll edit if I remember any.
For now. Am off to slaughter my hen.

2015 was the year God took charge.

He exposed lots of fake prophets and prophecies.
Moat of these prophecies were actually calculations based on Jonathan being an incumbent and the history of incumbent rigging elections.

They didn't reckon with
A. Jonathan allowing a largely peaceful and free and fair elections.
B. The anger of Nigerians towards PDP.

C. The unity of the North.

Mindset is Everything.
Tell your leaders to be responsible.
And provide waste bins.
It will interest you to know landfills and waste management is a capital intensive investment that's why states and federal govt have made provisions for environment in their budgets allocating billions to that sector. If and when they provide those services then they can hold the citizens responsible for violations.

Your mindset is the type that will.say youths are not hardworking. Meanwhile the politicians allocate millions for job creation and enrich themselves yet you want the youths to somehow start up a business and sustain it.

Nigga shut the hell up and stop trying to promote nonsense...... You are all supportive of not criminalizing homosexuality then you talk about avoiding them in the same breath..... You need to first understand the political nature of the LGBT group mouthing off their sentiments. Just because people decide to experiment does not mean they are necessarily gay...... Your tone sound like you have strong proof that by nature they are gay because they were caught.... People experiment, over here most people do it for rituals, common sense should tell you that adults like that won't be so brazen to practice such outside I'd possibly doing it outdoor is not a requirement for some spirit gibberish they were probably adhering to....

Yes, I can be against Criminalizing them and also avoid them.
I also don't support death sentence penalty but am against murder.

Have you asked if the state governor has engaged street cleaners?

Have you asked if the state govt provided waste bins and if they did are the clearing them regularly?

If you buy the most expensive attire and wear it everyday without washing it won't it look like a rag?

You put a man in a jungle and he acts like an animal.

Your average Nigerian is just reacting to the lawless and ineptitude of their mediocre and corrupt govt.
Well said.
Are the people going to buy waste bins and incinerate it themselves or do they build landfills or recycling centers.
Edo state government recently took a loan of over 100million naira for infrastructural development.

Don't put the burden on the people of Edo when government has the means to make more meaningful impact. Edo state government after providing bins and EMPTYING them regularly can now sanction those who default.

Until then, even abroad people will liter.

Should we also not send our kids to university too? Since the hostels/dorms are same sex. Boarding schools don't define sexual orientation
At that age of university, the age of reasoning is higher.
They are less prone to influences and peer pressure.

I don't smoke for example, some of my relatives do and they picked up the habit from.boarding school.
Even when I got to university I didn't experiment with cigar cos I remembered how my dad guarded us against it.
Anybody in university that's indulges in homosexuality is intrinsically gay, but in boarding school, seniors can bully youngster and introduce them to it.
A 13years old boy can easily be scowled at and influenced. A young man of 18 years to tell him to do what he doesn't want is difficult.

Do you understand the difference now?

Lai Mohammed as the spokesperson of the opposition struck a chord with most Nigerians.

Lai Mohammed as the spokesperson of the government in power is proving not to hit those high notes anymore.

The difference is; APC is now in power. No more excuses, no more mere criticism. We now expect decisive actions.

Uneasy lies the head that wears...

I wish APC well: we all benefit if Nigeria benefits.

Good one.
Some Nigerians are making us proud with verifiable records.

If you put in the hard work, we will praise you but to hide under junk science like Abalaka, Oyibo and expect all of us to praise you just because we are all Nigerians. It won't work.

Im still asking whatever happened to Enoch Opeyemi solution to the Riemann hypothesis.
I know it takes two years to be awarded the prize but has any other authority or his fellow mathematicians worldwide been acclaiming his proof.
This must not die a natural death.
It it was proved he lied, he must be shamed we have had enough of Emeagwali, Abalaka etc who ride on sentiments to get recognized and then run off into the night when rigorous questions are asked while their e-supporters on nairaland abuse you if you call them out.
I'm keenly keeping an eye on Opeyemi Enoch and the Clay Institute.

CrimeRe: Two Gay Men Caught In Delta, Handed Over To Chief Priest For Cleansing. Photo by Psalm18:

At least they were not stoned.

At their age, their intrinsic nature is homosexuality.
Cleansing, praying for them, jailing them won't change that.
They will just learn to be more careful next time.

I'm all for NOT criminalizing gays and lesbians because the sooner you know who is who, the better you can guide your kids to avoid them. The nephew was probably sent to stay with his uncle who hid his sexuality and then lured him to the act. Imagine if the parents knew 'Uncle' liked boys. That's the danger of Criminalizing gays/lesbians.

Criminalizing them drives them underground and they continue their activities; it does not stop it.

Criminalizing them also spreads HIV and other STDs because some get married due to society pressure and still maintain boyfriends outside the marriage.

Avoid sending your kids to boarding school. Period.

Stop this pseudo science nonsense.
Condoms do and always prevent HIV.
They have been subjected to stringent test and have always passed those tests.

Wrong use and inconsistent use of condoms is what may cause HIV transmission.
Stop feeding this junk, thereby discouraging condom usage.

[color=red] All those scientific 'jargons' explained above by the experts still don't answer the question

'How do we identify a hormone-fed chicken?'[/red]
Buy from rural farmers or raise your own chicken.

Or simply when you go to the market, ask for local chicken.
You can also identify agric chicken( which this article also calls hormone fed) by sight.
Most times, not always they look plumby and slow.
FoodRe: Fattened Chicken Can Cause Food Poisoning, Infections –experts by Psalm18: 1:08pm On Dec 24, 2015
Very true.
Eat organic products if you can..

Agric chickens as we call the ones raised with antibiotics have been shown to cause antibiotic resistance when consumed by humans.

The dangers of this is therefore, you may fall sick and antibiotics prescribed for you won't work.
Or after surgery, you don't heal from infections easily due to antibiotic resistance.
Cows and other meats are no exception.
