The voodoo (voodoo) has its origin in Benin. Indeed, as mentioned, the African slaves brought this cult to America, as happened with the worship of Orisa Yoruba. The voodoo is practiced in New Orleans, and particularly in Haiti, Trinidad Tobago and other Caribbean islands. We must not forget that to reach America, the different ethnic groups should share their space, so there was a mixed wine in worship. In South America, African cult has greater acceptance is the Yoruba (Orisa). In Brazil stands Keto Candomble and Batuque (also practiced in Uruguay). In Cuba, meanwhile, highlights the Orisa worship called "Santeria" and the "palo", a spiritualist cult. My respects to all. |
OLAADEGBU: G. Lewis can be said to be one of those who could discern the times even before Obama became President of the U.S. of A. Here is another message he sent to Christians to wake them up and smell the coffee. You do not read the post. I already told you mix politcas issues with religious matters. U That is wrong. If you are a supporter of a candidate, you open a thread in the forum policy, but you not religiously denigrate a candidate for political propaganda . You are following the wrong path. You should think . |
On my traveles to Spain, I saw that horse meat is freely sold in the markets .. Once, an Italian told me that in the Second World War, eat a cat or a rat was a party! But I understand that eating dog and Nigeria is part of a tradition in some places. In my country, as a matter of tradition, all the viscera of the cow and the sheep are eaten roasted in the heat of the coals. I've also heard of people eating apereás (a anmal silveste and ruminant, the size of the rat) rhea or Nandú (American ostrich), wild boar, capybara, hare ... a multitude of animals. Personally, I love dogs, and I think I would eat one, but should not we forget the context. Warm regards to all. |
jayriginal: I wonder if this question has been asked before or if it has occurred to anyone else.Very interesting: In his final question, I would add another: We have 500 souls in a generation, and dying, 450 go to hell and 50 go to paradise ... What happens then to the process of reincarnation? Not fulfilled. Councils have devised various ideas such as "purgatory" to solve problems like that, but these "solutions" actually generate other problems. Your question is very good, but I doubt anyone manipulating biblical passages come to a simple answer and that is based on faith, to find a decent solution. God may have a "reservation of souls" on the bench of alternate of the sky ... |
Jamji: Prove to me that the spirit realm exist.angels,demons,spirits.most things i hear about spirit realm are stories from people who've claim to see spirits and angels. Now i demand proof.dont scare me with bible verses it wont work.if you can show me the spirit realm let me see with my physical eyes.even doubting thomas got his request answered. Whos first?Iemojá? Olokum? If you want to see a spirit, come to Montevideo and Rivera Park at midnight to see "La Llorona" walk. |
@Nchees ... I feel great sorrow for you. You've been a victim of religious fanaticism. Someone tells you that your problem is a matter of witchcraft. Another tells you that your problem is a question of the Holy Spirit ... You'll end up crazy if you follow the advice of those fans. Go to a psychologist, is the best solution. A psychologist can help you with your problem, and the doubts and frustrations that generated these two forumers with their answers. Good luck! |
Royal-VII:Dear friend Royal VII We do not have to agree ... It is important to disagree, to think otherwise, and do it respectfully, as you did. It is true that the African caught African. It is true that the world is evil ... It is also true that many homosexuals have been killed in the history of mankind. Perhaps my humble post sought to inform, raise awareness of the figures, the numbers, the dates. I am a foreigner, and unfortunately I do not see the issue in question frequently, and that all people really know what happened. Thank you for your comment! |
logicboy01: jajajaNo. We dont have that rule. That kind of taboo, are generally local, and due to local conceptions. In many African peoples, there is a prohibition against eating certain animals. For pregnant women, perform certain acts ... but not everywhere the same. I can not judge whether it is good or bad each of these things, but I can say is that they have a reason, it is not witchcraft or anything satanic (Christians would say jajajaja!) But if you one day have a chance, ask at your village the reason for this tradition. Share it or not, you will see that is part of a tradition that aims to respect something. This is not something whimsical. |
God's law is very complex. At the time the Law of God ended in the flood that wiped out all humanity (including Jews) The Hebrews were constantly defeated by the Babylonians, the Assyrians, the army of Alexander the Great, the Romans ... Against these kingdoms could not God's law? In the second world war, the treatment of Jews is not consistent with the law of God. What a story we wanted to invent? |
Dear friend: Atheism is not a foreign religion, simply because (point 1) is not a religion. I agree with the aterísmo is a global phenomenon. I let my discrepancies raised with the treatment of paganism. I suppose that, as elsewhere, there must have been people opposed to paganism. I do not know if they were decapitated, or were not. Regarding your grandmother let me tell you something (and I do it amicably, for I appreciate you) Write on the ground may seem silly (no more nonsense to kneel before a statue of plaster, or imagine a paradise with 20 virgins). You wonder why this woman did not agree to write down? Some pagan acts may seem silly (not more silly that many acts of Christian or Islamic), but they have their explanation. You may not agree with this explanation (I did not ask you to share it) but it certainly is part of a philosophical and a tradition. There is no ignorance. Let's see: I'm not contradicting your statement, but I am saying that not all acts are stupid and ignorant heathen. A big hug! y... vamo arriba la celeste hermano! |
Kpakam: I av bin pondering Over this Question,I Mean The Devil Knelt Down and Cried, since God is Merciful,Won't He Forgive?Your opinion plzGod created Satan. Thousands of years have not been able to defeat him. The reason is that this god is weak? Or maybe Satan is very strong? @Joel Fausto is a novel. |
FXKing2012: Do you really think God enjoys seeing people suffer?Yes. There are hundreds of biblical stories that God sadistically enjoys the suffering of people, even of its favorite sons. |
Joel.:Absolutely ridiculous. |
Jenwitemi: There is nothing like "human spirit" or "animal spirit", bro. Spirit is spirit and it is the same for all living organisms, simple or complex, terrestrial or extra-terrestrial.Emmmmmm I follow his reasoning: When a ant dies, his spirit goes to heaven. When a bad ant dies, his spirit goes to hell. Interestingly enough that animals have spirits. Each day we learn something new. Thanks for the input!. |
Migan: @Ptolomeus...good post. Quick question. Are you African?.Meaning are you a black person? Did your people descend from enslaved Africans in your country or from somewhere else during the slave trade? Thanks.Dear friend. Thank you very much. I was born and I live in Montevideo, Uruguay, South America. My great-grandmother (the mother of my paternal grandmother) was African and slaves. |
Migan: @Ptolomeus....Also I would suggest you look at the history of how various African kingdoms were founded and how some people became kings. Some may say a certain person is not a king because he did not go through a coronation ceremony. In our research we found out that the founder of the first African village in america was not coronated as a king in Africa until the 1980s. He proclaimed to be a king since the early 1970s. What is interesting is that when when he finally did go to Africa for coronation, though he was not coronated already, the Africans who coronated him already recognized him as king also! You know why? It was because his people in America within and without his village had already recognized him as king. The coronation ceremony in the 1980s was simply a co signer or further legitimizing his already kingship status. Ptolomeus, if you will exchange your email with me we can dialogue in depth more about this. Like I mentioned in a post I will be interviewing the king Agbovi I for my university. Also, just to make sure it is clear, Agbovi I is a king in thr Danxome system so it may be a bit difficult for those who do not practice that culture and/or ethnically don't come from that culture for them to be able to give proper and accurate commentary on that subject. I'm sure my good Yoruba brothers and sisters can speak on the Oba thing with the other person you mentioned. I can be emailed at dahome.vodun@gmail.com ThanksDear friend and brother: Thank you very much for your kind and enlightened response. I made no criticism of the coronations of both kings. My only intention is to know your point of view. I have not much knowledge about the Fon culture, I have dedicated more to the study of the Yoruba (although both cultures are related). I suppose that if the authorities Fon, endorsed the title, because then that title is valid. I can not even want to open opinion about the specific event of a coronation. I understand that (by way of the facts) 'he proclaimed himself King in the '70s, and that the U.S. population was recognized. I reiterate, if this is true for Fon authorities, no one can take effect. Here in America, there are tens of thousands of people who spread the culture and African traditions. Confuses me a bit, the situation of founding a kingdom in America, if every one of those tens of thousands do so ... maybe there would be thousands of Oba in America. That confuses me a bit. But I repeat to you, I'm not criticizing, but by analyzing the facts. |
@ebenezer95 It is a pity that some people do not know what a Vodun, and write about it. I am no expert on the cult, but has nothing to do with magic. A Vodun is an ancestor, and that was based on the cult. I regret the rest of your comment. My respects. @tpia@ Totally off topic. The issue raised requires knowledge of general culture and history. I understand that you lack it, but left alone to Jesus, that has nothing to do with the subject. |
logicboy01: Wow. Do you travel around South America?Brazil is very close to Uruguay ... In fact is next ... Bahia is a bit far, but worth knowing ... Nowhere in the world can be as many African traditions in Bahia ... But ... in fact I have traveled quite .... |
Exactly! There will never be a black pope ... It is the religion of the white ... In San Salvador (Bahia Brazil), there is a place called "Pelourinho". "Pelourinho that the name of a log, located in the center of the square, where in times of slavery was tied to the slaves and whipped in front of others. On the same square, blacks built the church "Nossa Sra do Carmo". It was a church for them, as they had no authorization to enter a common church. Where whites were blacks could not enter ...

Children are born healthy! No racism whatsoever and without discrimination! You do not poison!

Promoted the enslavement of Indians and blacks ... They made an alliance with Hitler in WWII Who can deny they are racist? Someone knew a black pope? Defending the indefensible!

It does not matter what the fanatic Fraksy has written . The story is heartbreaking. For a moment forget our beliefs, and just think he dies, not only a woman, a mother, but also your child! Those fans do not agree to abort a girl rap.ed, but forced to die a mother and son! Even when normal people must endure these stupid murderers and their eccentricities! I have repeated hundreds of times all these imported beliefs have nothing to do with African traditions! For those fans everything is a sin! Everything is repression! Do not have se.x! Do not save your life and your son! These deaths will weigh on the conscience of each of the religious fanatics, who would not mind killing in order to "win a soul." For in this case, the fans have won two! The fanatics blame everything on Satan ... but Satan does not live locked in this hell that has been invented ... Satan lives in many Christian churches, collecting tithes, repressing, falsely citing biblical passages, and also killing innocent mothers and babies. Open your eyes! |
demsat: @Spirit of "bastard" -You must a bastard for this comment. You probably was educated at a Christian college, right? From an early age you learn the word of Jesus Christ, the Christian laws, and is a god fearing person ... You should be very proud of the education they have given their greatest ... Just read what you write, and imagine the kind of person you are. You are a pride for the Christian congregation. |
Fr0sbel: See how these over educated people twist scripture to form doctrines of devils.Yeah... the greatest punishment that God has prepared for sinners, is for those who use biblical passages out of context, citing the bible trifling matters. Awaits a lake of fire and brimstone in his soul that will burn and die without remedy ... (die the soul, although many believe that this is impossible) |
Wizlittle: can we called this d will of god or will of human oh, dis can be translated to d way ofYou just left the church right? |
@shymmex Africa is not the only place in the world where this occurs. Most of South America lacks own cults. As cultures were wiped out, prohibited, and taxes gods and foreign customs. For this reason I speak of a methodology, by the invaders, which is not casual. At least we are aware of that. Your exposure is excellent, and I totally agree with you. |
@frosbel Dear friend: No one can deny that Arabs and Europeans came to Africa to enslave Africans. The problems between Arabs and Christians are not included in this issue. I speak of Africa. And you no one can deny that Africa was colonized, and imposed the Arab and Western gods. With respect to previous practices or traditions to colonialism and slavery, there is a big difference between different roles of men and women, and stoning of women imposed by the Arabs. I understand that you want to defend their belief (you qualify), but the story is clear in this regard. Arabs and Christians enslaved Africa (you deny it?) Imposed their gods, traditions, ethnic groups separated, and the Division have ruled hundreds of years ... in fact still do. |
Clearly, Christians are returning to their roots. As of Yaweh called human sacrifices of virgins and children, and animal sacrifices, now Christian pastors calling goats and ñame ... It is no doubt that the next step of a pastor, is the sacrifice of three virgins, in the case of the death of a personality. Alleluia ... |
I am splendidly well. It happens that when I read things like that, I begin to understand why the world is as it is. Be happy. |
Godmother: In a way u re right. Cos an uncircumcised guy doesn't look too nice (my opinion)Its you prefer as a matter of aesthetics ... well, everyone has their tastes. But aesthetics and religion do not mix. Circumcision done for religious purposes is in the midst of a Jewish rite, ritual tools through and hits a rabbi. I can not imagine how could a Christian pastor to do something. He would do with a kitchen knife? Well, maybe this post is a wonderful idea for a pastor begins to circumcise ... as usually most of the shepherds, the payment may be made in three installments. |
frosbel: I totally agree , we must always fellowship with other believers but it does not have to be in a formal church setting, though in the right format this is to be commended.I agree with you. Churches are not biblical. We promote non-church attendance. |
