Christianity EtcRe: Was Christainity A Propaganda Tool For Slavery & The Colonial System? by Ptolomeus(m): 10:20pm On May 18, 2012
naijaFrank: We all agree that Christianity accepted slavery and even played a part in encouraging the trade.

Now the big question is --- Why do Africans follow this faith without questioning its introduction and motive? especially after our exposure to its barbaric influence on our continent. If a man gives me the bible in the morning and swears by it yet he comes to my home the next day to steal my child to be used as a slave in a far away place. Shouldn't i question the validity of the bible he offered just a day before?

Wouldn't it be fair to say that the contents of the bible are man-made and serves a human purpose namely profiteering?

I dare to say that the bible and its contents are fabricated by men to serve men and there is nothing holy about it.
Excellent exposure.
I totally agree with you ...
I sense a certain inferiority complex unfounded; contempt for the very roots, overvaluation of Europe ... '
With these premises, and without self generated contradictions like that.

odumchi: Orange and red are the typical colors of beads and necklaces in Eastern Nigeria. In the olden days, only wealthy people could afford them and they were usually worn as status symbols. That attitude to necklaces and beads is still present today, although they aren't as much of a status symbol today as they were before since, nowadays, they are more affordable.
Thank you for your clear explanation dear friend.
I figured it was no coincidence!
As always you are very kind, and I apologize for my questions, but learn about the traditions is something exciting.
Thank you!

All this seems a matter of Christians, right?
Fear not hell, if hell really exists, is saturated, it is full of pastors and prophets.

CultureThe Greatest Genocide In Human History by Ptolomeus(op): 8:24pm On May 18, 2012
The slave trade caused havoc in Africa, which even today are felt. For four centuries this continent was the scene of wars and "raids" by the capture of slaves. Millions of Africans were exported to distant lands, as many millions died in forced marches to the coast and in warehouses waiting to be shipped.

This forced exodus of millions of people caused the decrease of vegetative growth of the African population, as men and women of childbearing age were sold.

Some researchers even say that between the fifteenth and nineteenth centuries the continent lost more than a hundred millions of men and women. Several African regions were almost totally depopulated. The researcher André Gunder Frank in his book The World Accumulation 1492-1789 puts the figure at 13,750,000 slaves brought to America between the sixteenth and nineteenth centuries, to which the researcher Enrique Peregalli add 25% for deaths on the way and a 25% more deaths in Africa because of the wars of capture, which makes a total of 20,625,000 Africans lost to the continent in that period ().

Similarly, it is estimated that during this period only from the coast of Angola to the ports of São Tomé and America were transported three million slaves. This explains why the most populated areas in the fifteenth century as the Congo, Ndongo and Quissana, in the seventeenth century were already depopulated.

Also, many people, the danger of slavery, abandoned their original areas, taking refuge in the interior regions, helping to depopulation.
In 1830, the Arabs were the main slave traders. Many boats Arab pangaios (), from different ports in northern Mozambique hauling large number of slaves to the Comoros and Madagascar. In the mid-nineteenth century, these traffickers change tissues by slaves. Ibo Island happened to be frequented by the Arabs of Zanzibar, Kilwa, Mombasa and especially those of the Comoros.

Since 1854, the slave trade to the French islands was renamed "free labor export." This was due to the traffic ban and control of the British in the Indian Ocean. In practice, this trade ended only in 1902.

As a measure of the extent of trafficking, serves the following table indicates the number of slaves shipped only from Mozambique to the Indian Ocean islands between 1720 and 1902 ():

Period Number of slaves

1720-1799 125,306

1800-1854 255,000

1855-1902 115,133

Total 495,439

Another example is the city of Zanzibar, one of the more evident that the slave trade. As of 1811, Zanzibar was exporting 6 to 10 thousand slaves per year. From 1839 it became a real center of the slave trade in the east coast of Africa. It is estimated that were sold between 40 and 45 thousand slaves per year.

emöfine2: Can a being that is deemed perfect be perfectly conveyed by beings that are imperfect?

As humans we make mistakes, our beliefs fluctuate and often times we are biased I thus wonder is man befitting enough to relay a "perfect" god(s)?
My respects dear friend!
An excellent pose.
Firstly, not all priests of all religions are representatives of God. Not all of them are intermediaries between men and God, not all speak for represent God.
I think it is ridiculous that a man assumes the role of representative of god on earth. That does not withstand scrutiny.
Best wishes!

Perfect answer.
It's amazing the selectivity with which some read the Bible ...
So forget when the Bible speaks of Jesus' brothers, to highlight the character "virgin" Mary ...
Supposedly, before the appearance of the angel, Mary and Joseph despite being married had not had se.x ever ...

It will be highly impossible for the 'poster' to let them believe otherwise.

It seems contradictory ... can you explain?

OLAADEGBU: I may have to spoil your lovely dogma here. James as referred to in James 1:1 is the Lord's step brother as other verses confirm. James is called "the Lord’s brother" (Galatians 1:19), and is apparently the one mentioned in Mark 6:3 and Matthew 13:55 as the first of four "brethren" of Jesus who were sons of Mary. There is nowhere mentioned that he was a relative or cousin as you have been indoctrinated.
Holy God!

I already have explained to you, but you you worried for my English.
You have a problem of analysis?
You ask why?
possibilities:
1. Joseph was g.ay, did not like women and therefore did not have se.x with Mary.
2. Mary was fri.gid and did not want to have se.x with a man.
3. Mary was a les.bian, did not like men.
I rule out other possibilities such as lack of love and desire, as ultimately married.
Married then what? To watch cartoons on TV?
Use you brain a bit and you'll upgrade your analytical performance.

Christians say the Bible is the Word of God. The Bible is a collection of stories collected and selected on the whims of the church.
I do not say that the Bible is the word of god, the Christians say.
In fact, Jesus did not form any woman apostle ...
or if he did?
Christianity EtcRe: Evidence Of Juju by Ptolomeus(m): 10:27pm On May 17, 2012
I do not try to answer the questions posed to PAGAN 9JA brother. But I response to your comment, I disagree with the Christian idea that there is absolute good and absolute evil.
Christianity comes from Judaism, but the Christian God, considered the absolute good, is the same as the Jewish God, who unleashed wars, plagues, swore and demanded evils, human sacrifices ... Its real the concept of absolute good of the Christian God?
In fact, often what is good or bad is relative.
Orisa is not God. Roughly speaking, Orisa is an emanation of the one god and creator. Unlike Christianity, which is not known exactly where did the absolute wrong, good and evil are present in nature and in man. Rain can be wonderful, but can also be destructive ...
If we say that Orisa , our destination, and is guarded by the energy of Orisa, why not ask for help to Orisa?
and of course praise Ori.
I believe in all religions, communication with the deities, made one way or another, is essential.
My respects.
