My laptop and the internet. my MODEM is now faulty and I have been craving for it like junkie craving for cocaine. |
too many bad things, I wish 2009 can just be a bad dream. Apart from being me and my nuclear family being alive nothing good happened to me. Anyway I still thank Baba Jehovah, it could have been worse. |
Another thing that just crossed my mind is Bakassi. I will find a way of taking back bakassi, i will prefare using peace first then threaten, if it does not work I will use Military action. Another way I will strengthen the military is encouraging military technology development in the country, just like it is done in North Korea. Nigeria will really need it. |
I love ur angle and it is good to have a new and fresh idea on an alternative way for Nigeria to move forward (enough of Nigeria must separate). I agree with you on a need for a long term (not less than 20 yrs) good leader that will change the status quo in Nigeria. Nigeria needs a total overhauling and it is almost impossible for a democratic leader of 8 yrs to achieve it. South Africa is good today not because they have a democratic government but because they started their democracy under the masters of democracy (white), the white has instilled institutions that is guiding them today, Nigeria has non of these institutions. Even the democracy we are not running it well, imagine not knowing the whereabout of the President foe more than 30 days now and still the VP cant take over. We have been kept on hold by someone group. Me as a person I don't care whatever governance system we run in Nigeria or who leads us so far it is good, fair and provides justice to everyone. |
If I become the president of Nigeria today I will do the following (only no 1 is in the rite other, the others are in no particular order) 1. Work on the constitution: Aspect of the constitution I will first work on is giving death sentence and confiscating properties of present and past corrupt leaders and public officers, pls note their death will be televised on national tv. I will decentralize power by bordering the six political zones of the country and giving then autonomy (i.e there will be an overall head for each political zone that will be more powerful that the individual state governors and these heads will be the VPs to the president), I will separate bodies like INEC, EFCC, ICPC from politics and they will be truly independent. I will remove federal character cos everyone will manage his resources, although at the initial take of power to 10 yrs time I will try to help each zone to provide infrastructures that can make it autonomous using oil money. I will make laws that favor a capitalist system, aspects that will not be handled by private individuals will be military and maybe health 2. Power: I will hand over power management to each geographical region, let them generate and distribute as they seem fit with the help of private sector. 3. Infrastructure: Standard Roads and rails will link all regions to one another. I will run at least 3 to 4 airport as federal in each region depending on the size of the region (some might be 2). Please note all will be PPP but at the federal level. 4. I will develop a better identification system (biometric) that will facilitate taxing, banking, health, education, security etc. 5. For health, I will run a system close to that of the British NHS system, I will give free health to birth-14 and +65 6. Education will be compulsory and free till secondary school, parent that don't comply will be categorized as child molesters. I will stop the craze on BSc. by supporting technical schools, sport schools etc. It will be compulsory to run gym and sports in schools and pupils must participate in it. 7. I will privatize NTA and the rest. Sports will be removed from the hands of Government, each region will have its own police, but there will be a federal police like the FBI. I will improve Military and provide military base (1, 2 or 3) in each region, i will encourage recruitment into the police and military by improving pay and benefit and attractive. 8. For security, it will be compulsory to have working CCTV in public places, there will be general emergency line for all region, police will be made to walk among people and not drive cars in loud sirens, no road block, I will employ technology (like number plate recognition system) and animals (dogs) in combating crime. Consumers will be powerful and dictate what they want. Please note fake drugs, fake and substandard products, bribery, forgery, yahoo yahoo, 419, election malpractice etc will be tagged as corruption, therefore it will take the death sentence |
What I meant was that I will not be polygamous but I will not look down on a man that decides to be Polygamous, it is choice, Marriage should be a choice, as there is no law making it compulsory for every adult to be married, there should also be no law limiting a man from marrying the total number of women he can cater for. What I mean by saying polygamy should be regularized is for instance a Man going into Polygamy should be able to house them in different apartment (preferable different houses), provide the same things for their children, no preferences, before he gets married to his new bride, the ladies at home should consent (if possible sign letter of consent in a court), he should not forget and neglect the old bride(s) and children when the new bride comes in etc. For instance I have a family member that had 2 wives, the wives lived beside each other in separate houses, the rule in the family was, the guys have their rooms with the second wife and the ladies have their rooms the the first wife irrespective of who your mother is. That made everybody equal. If you outlaw Polygamy in Nigeria, what will happen to the Moslems that believe in Polygamy and their Qua ran allows it, It was easy for countries like UK to outlaw polygamy, it is a Christian nation but in Nigeria it will be almost impossible. Even in Israel it is outlawed but not enforced because of a certain group that have a belief that allows polygamy (cant remember their name). This is a very sensitive issue in Nigeria, it should be handled wiv care. |
Try Ilupeju (Industrial estate part) or Obanikoro |
As for me I dont think Jonathan will do any miracle if he becomes the President, they are all birds of a feather. My advise to Jonathan is that he should hijack PDP from the Northerners if he becomes the President, that is the only way he can break the clutch of the Northerners on him and Nigeria as a whole. It will be a funny thing if he gets the Presidency now and still get it again in 2011. |
@ BrutusOne Some women are happy wiv the polygamous arrangements and idea or what would be the explanation behind Nafisa Yar adua being the 4th wife of Governor Isa Yuguda. Note that Nafisa has money, power and education, so what do u think is her reason for not going for a fresh guy, it beats me. I repeat again that I am against Polygamy buy I think it should not be banned but placed under strict regulation that will make it difficult for people to practice. |
I pray for him, but not that he should get well but that God's will should be done in his life and in Nigeria and I know God is not the author of confusion, his will will surely be done. @ poster please stop using the word elected, he was never elected, he was never chosen by Nigerians and am sure he was never chosen by God (i.e if we are to go spiritual. God will not use illegality (ringing) to elect a president/bishop/Imam etc). @ poster please stop giving excuses for our leaders, yes I might not run a community center or something, but that does not mean he (Yar adua and other leaders) should not carry out their mandate, they are the ones that have been selected to do this, if they cant do it they could as well resign or not come out for a political post. I will carry out my humanitarian gesture to my neighbors based on my discretion and ability. You sound as if we are worse than they are because we dont do charity and so forth but pls we are not cos it says "to whom much is given much is expected", they av been given much and much is surely be expected from them. We cant all do the same role, as some are leading, some will also be constructively criticizing etc. Criticizing him should not be taken as a bad thing instead it should lead to better leadership. All our leaders (people generally) want is praises. |
I think most people are arguing from a biblical perspective and using America and Europe as a yard stick, please dont forget that they used the bible and their main religion is Christianity (at least then) , Nigeria is a mixture (Islam and Christianity being the major religion), if you because of your religion or whatever other reasons you outlaw Polygamy, Moslems will feel cheated cos their religion allows it. We cant always take everything that comes from the west, it will always come and bite us at the back. Instead we should find a way around it while accommodating everybody. Yes, among the Igbos polygamy is not common but also among the Igbos, Islam is rarely practised. Because Monogamy works for the Igbo tribe (low no of Moslems) does not mean it will work for the Hausa and Yoruba tribes (high no of Moslems). If u say because the igbos practice monogamy, AIDS is on a decline or checked then we can also say Sharia law is helping in the core North where it is practiced therefore the whole Nigeria should go the Sharia way. A better way to prevent AIDS spread is to frown against promiscuity (male or female), educate and share condoms. |
lmao @ mugsmasher's comment, I feel u but u cant always go about like that, u will be paranoid and will not enjoy life |
IBORI for PRESIDENT Anyway, I will blame efcc for doing a shoddy job, I did not really follow this case because I knew the outcome was going to be this, I was even surprised when Bode George was jailed, I guess the PDP boys wanted to play some distraction to the major case (Ibori's case). Nigerians are quick to read proverbs or run to God when things like this happen but I will say instead of waiting for a day monkey go go market and not come back, we fit make am go and not come back today today, abi God give us brain and power of choice for us to always sit there and not move a finger. |
Many people cheap for here, I will be attending a wedding that is costing around 10 M (naira), that does not include wedding gown, the grooms tux and the couple's wedding band/ring. Please note the couples have a roof over their head already. It is not a matter of suffering after the wedding As this couple don set precedence, other weddings after this in the family will have to continue in ascending order, I just wonder how much I will be expected to spend when it comes to my turn. Left to me I will prefer to use technology for my wedding i.e video conferencing, no need for all the emotional wahala and physical wahala and it is relatively cheap (less than a million naira) |
I cant stand polygamy but to ban it will not be fair, humans have the rite to chose however they go especially in cases of sex, sexuality and marriage. If homosexuality can be allowed (western world) then I think it is hypocritical of them to criminalize polygamy while also over looking infidelity. Polygamy should not be ban, it should be regularized, there should be laws that protect all parties involved especially the wives and children. Please note, it is not only in Islam that polygamy is allowed some Christian groups allow it e.g Cele Concerning the spread of AIDS due to polygamy, I get your point poster but banning polygamy cos of this reason will only make people more desperate, a better option is to educate the people about dangers of infidelity, women should be be given more power to refuse sex or demand the use of condoms if she suspects infidelity, compulsory regular HIV status test should be put into the constitution, polygamous and unfaithful men and women should be made to pay if their carelessness causes havoc on the family. |
@ Kehnie By the rivers of Babylon, , I love that song die @ day by day, , 3 things I pray, to see thee more clearly, love thee more dearly , Omo I sang that song wiv all my heart, good ol' days mehn Justfast50, its like our schools used the same book for her rhymes. lol @ aeroplane o dabo, bami ki iya eleko and oyinbo pepper. Had to learn those songs by force otherwise u dont belong I love to go a wandering, along the mountain side, and as I go I love to sing my -------- on my back valereeee, Valeraaaaaaaaaa (we will be waving left and right) @ the Amaka Plantain Plantation sounds familiar |
We are A, We are A A A, we are A Adegbite is the best is the best We are happy wat they say about Adegbite The school was found in 1984 and the rhymz continue One man went to mow oooooooo went to mow a melow (one man went to mow went to mow a melow) Two men went to mow oooooooo went to mow a melow and it continue John Jacob Jingle Hammer Smith Is name is my name too whenever we go out the people always shout John Jacob Jingle Hammer Smith tra la la la la Omo them plenty oooo, those days of innocence, even if u dont know the meaning of the songs we still sing it |

Let anybody claim watever country he or she wants, it all boils down to where u fell like home. Since Nigeria has decided not to grow up and is also behaving like a failed state u can blame them, No one wants to be associated wiv failure (except those in Abuja). Please note the table could turn. |
I think all this argument is pointless. The guy broke the law and by all indications he got a criminal conviction which gave him a deportation notice, it is painful but he is to be blamed. You don't go about breaking rules as a foreigner even if u have 12 gold medals especially in this period where there are lot of crisis (na zobo eye dem get 4 UK nau). I also blame his wife for not pushing him to regularize his papers i.e if he was eligible before he started his traffic offence episode. Anyway I pray the Human rite activists can help him stay cos I dont know how he will survive if he comes back to Nigeria. Me self wey use just 2 yrs for there dey find it difficult to adapt back into the Nigerian system. |
See how girls are complaining as if they are not part of the problem. In my school days, I have met girls that will not look at guys of their age bracket twice, A girl once told me she prefer married men cos she can get away with wateva she wants, no love drama unlike guys of her age bracket that always av one love drama or the other. A guy that has this kind of girls around him will result to that way of life when he is rich and married, he will think it is rite to acquire wealth and women (young ones). |
@ op LMAO To all those that said, the poster used money to buy the gals love and bla bla bla, that is so unfair. You cant have a girlfriend (even a friend) that is lacking and u decide not to help because u think she will think u are buying her love. From the post, i can imply that she is poor and if he helped her does not mean he bought her love. I think she has decided to move on with her love, which could be as a result of the following: u dont look like u will pop the question soon (a 4 yr relationship should lead somewhere), your shortcomings, she feels u cant give her all she wants while the other guy can, etc. You could also be the nagging and controlling kind of BF that feels he has all the right over her cos he spent on her, but I bet she will not mind that if she did not have a new maga to foot her bills. I will advise u forget her but not without knowing the real reason she is dumping u. Dont send any bill to her but if she insists give her the bill and insist she sends it to a charity of ur choice. Please note that becos she used u and dumped u does not mean she will pay for it, her life could even turn out better than u imagined. She mite not run back to u, dont even expect her to come back cos u will not move on but if she does, dont be a dog that goes back to its vomit. |
Na wa ooo, Is she already heavy? Anyway, I know things will change one day. How can a very sick President not improve the health care of his country. I use to think u are inspired by ur experience eg u set up a motherless babies home, if u grew up without a mother or u had an experience with a motherless kid etc. But Yaradua has decided to be different. |
Nigerians will find ways around their govt. short comings. Example is seen the use of solar panel now. Soon everyone will av solar panel to power up their home, which will mean killing 2 birds (fuel scarcity and PHCN power problem) wiv a stone (solar panel). I will not be surprised if invention have started on using solar panel to power automobiles. But on a serious note we need to demand more from our leaders |
Sex can be taken care of during the day wen the kids av gone to school. It could be a 3some or he sends the other wife on a wild goose chase, That is no problem. On campus you have sex even when your roommates are around, all u need is wrappers. The funniest thing about this situation is that the guy mite not av planned for this, the 2nd wife mite av been a mistress, she got pregnant and because of this Nigerian/Africa tradition that frowns on the term single mother, she moves in wiv the guy and his wife. Women are very desperate now-a-days, I know of a guy living in a one room wiv his wife and 2 kids, the guy is an handy man but is always paying for short time in hotels to bang girls working in white collar jobs, the gals know he is married but will still sleep wiv him, they all say they dont need his money, they can take care of themselves. If I did not know this guy, I would have thut he uses jazz on the gals. I think our generation need to teach our daughters to have self esteem, be satisfied wiv wateva they have and not to take getting married as a do or die affair. |
One of the problems we have in Nigeria is not telling the whole story, Sanusi is trying to tell Nigerians the full story and the citizens are crying "crucify him". Although I think he talks to much, I still think he his doing a wonderful job of educating us about how volatile our banks are while also trying to sanitize them, It is better we do it now than latter. I just hope another CBN Governor will not take over and start crying "Foul Play" on Sanusi in the future. Soludo did a good job of recapitalization of the banks, I cant just imagine wat would av happened if it had not been done and there was this economic recession. Soludo served a purpose and I think Sanusi is doing a good job on his. |
As for me I have a lot of issues wiv Nollywood, thats y I only watch 5 movies per year but dem still try sha. Omotola should pls reduce the no of crappy movies she shoots in a year. I have not seen Beyonce vs Rihanna and Yanky girls but those titles have already fallen my hand. Genny is not bad at all, I think she and Omotola try for beauty, so I will watch their movies if I dont c anything else to watch on TV. As for the original post, I think she is one of those (not limited to Jenny, Liz, Steph, Jacob etc)that put nollywood where it is today, they made it attractive for these new sets of actors and actresses (although many are there becos they are jobless). As for me, I dont watch a nollywood movie if I dont c either Omotola or Genny. As for the producers and directors, I dont know any of them because a good %age of them them dont have an idea of wat they are doing. If I should watch Nollywood movies because of producers and directors, I would have have only watched about 10 of them. Dont get me wrong I am interested in the producers and directors, in Hollywood, I look at directors and producers first b4 actors but Nollywood film crew no de try at all. |
Yaradua get well soon, wishing you a quick recovery, although I don't like you and I think you are a disgrace. Bariga1 made some good points but Military rule has neva been known to bring prosperity to a country (esp Nigeria), that has been proved by Abacha and his predecessors . I think Nigerians should hang in there or better still make our own change by demanding our politicians be accountable and by also killing the f**kers that think they are above the law. For those that think Goodluck will be president if he dies, he wont, another Hausa will be handpicked, maybe Governor Isa Yuguda Someone said Yaradua is the guy keeping Nigeria together, is that true? (I know I should start a new thread but I wont) |
Both clubs are Scummies, they should self destruct for all I care. But for tomorrow, I want the gayners victorious, that is only if wishes were horses (or how is it said). I see Ancelotti taking Wenger to the cleaners tomorrow. It is going to be 3 nil in favor of the blue scummies. Red Devils all the way today and till EPL is no more |
@platinumfk You are lucky, u can do a man's chore, but wiv the kind of female breeds in this world today, they cant do those heavy chores. If a man starts doing the dishes when will he be able to fix a broken fuse, iron the clothes, mow the lawn, assemble the baby crib etc. I think before the marriage, tins like this should have been sorted out. Better still if the guy and gal are too lazy to do the house chore, let them pay people to do it and if u live outside Nigeria where u have to pay via ur nose for these services, get the gadgets eg dishwasher for ur plates or use disposable plates. My cousin use to nag her husband that he doesn't help out in washing the dishes, the guy just ordered for a dishwasher and now everybody is happy. @Op Maybe she just finished her nails thats why she could not do the dishes. |
