Well, let me explain to you and @BruncleZuma probably you learn. Mock exam is optional for candidates. Mock exam is like a practice test and candidates need to pay for the Infrastructures they will use for this practice test. The payment is owned by CBT Centre and not jamb because CBT Centre will fuel their Gen, they will use their internal network servers, computers, hall, AC and other infrastructure. Now, is #700 too much for this service provided by CBT Centre? Just answer sincerely. Even without mock, some candidates were paying cyber Cafe thousands of naira for non accredited jamb practice test.
Meanwhile the poster did not mention that some candidates were posted to jamb owned centres for this mock and such candidate is not required to pay the #700. It's free. However, jamb owned Centre cannot accommodate all candidates, and the reason for using the services of private owned CBT centres. Also note that jamb also spend heavily for this mock. For example Personnel cost.

The Constitution Review Panel asked Nigerians to forward their views regarding what they want in the constitution. Each group is supposed to submit its needs. It's like you don't understand the politics of workplace. Being given some roles and responsibilities may give you an opportunity to connect with influential people, interfacing contractors where you get kickback (i don't support this, just saying), or you represent your workplace in outside settings. This person may be collecting same salary and allowances as others, but he's getting some advantages and this is what employee in the same level compete for. It's a fundamental politics of workplace.

So what happens to this theory now that other applicants are receiving email to upload their certificates? I was just laughing when I read many unconfirmed theories here since inception of this process. You would think some people have first hand information, but no they don't. Just sit at one corner of their house and cook theories to convince others.

As an experience student of both university and polytechnic, let me highlight the following :
People were only mentioning salary, and being a professor in the other comments, but I want to add to their discussions.
Firstly, you need to know the criteria of promotions in the two settings. In the University, you need three things, masters and PhD degree, and your research publication in a reputable local and international journals, and years of experience. You also need to attend conferences. These things is not easily achieved if you are not ready for rigorous reading, reviewing, rejections, and traveling. However, in the Polytechnic, you only need your years of experience and a master degree or Pgd to compliment your hnd certificate, and probably years of experience. The pressure to publish research work, attend conferences are not there.
Therefore you need to know your strength before choosing any of the setting.

Secondly, university gives you an advantage of local and international research grant, opportunities to work for international NGOs, opportunity to lecture at other universities abroad, and opportunity to be given some national assignment like State Electoral returning officer. There are other benefits that Polytechnic settings don't even give. However, though this is possible in some universities, but you have the advantage to develop a copy and paste handout and sell to Polytechnic students every year. With this you make more money in the Polytechnic than university.

Lastly, if at a point you don't develop yourself at the University by obtaining masters degree or PhD or publish a good journal, you may be faced out. I mean you may be released to leave the academic setting. This happen in the Federal universities, I don't know about state universities. However, in the Polytechnic, you can remain dormant with one academic qualifications and nobody will relief you of your duty. Though junior ones with advanced degree might later be your boss as a Director or rector.

In summary, know what you want and your strength before making decision.

Like I earlier said on a similar thread, constitutionally, muslim students have the right to wear hijab in a govt owned christian sch, but the reality on ground is that, govt owned muslim schools in Ilorin would not tolerate christian students to have fellowship [FCS] in their schools. Now, why should christian schools tolerate the use of hijab? If Kwara state govt wants to be fair in this situation, as they are enforcing the use of hijab in all gov't owned schools, they should as well pass the law that all christian student should be allowed to have fellowship in all gov't owned muslim schools. That's fairness and religious tolerance!

I like the way you present your words, except that I think you are unaware of some facts as regards Muslim government schools in Kwara.
My question, how many Christians attend Muslim government schools in Kwara? Practically none in most. Few that have Christians in the other local governments were not prevented from having Christian fellowship. Though you may say they were not allowed to build church, but they have classes they were using. I attended Mount Carmel College, Ilorin. As a Muslim, we were not allowed to build our mosque, we were given an open space where we use tent on every Friday. We tried to build mosque from our personal contributions, and the management removed it.
If Christians in Muslim government schools were not allowed to organize fellowship, you would have heard noise about it in the media. I trust CAN for that.

Well, many are just replying ignorantly or emotionally.
Those schools you see there were expanded, and funded by state government. Both Muslims and non Muslims pay taxes to the government, and therefore you cannot say the school solely belongs to Christians. Though Christians established them, but they are no more funded with Christian money.

Some people will ask why don't Muslim quit those schools? If you care to know, Ilorin is a Muslim dominated city. The available Muslim schools cannot contain the Muslims and neither the Christians can fill the spaces of Christian established schools. So resource management came to play and this is the reason why you see both of them in the same classroom. Peaceful coexistent is what we should seek.
To buttress with example, I attended Mount Carmel College, Ilorin. I can confidently tell you that 95% of students there were Muslims while the other 5% covers Christians. This is almost similar in those affected schools. In this case, resolving issues amicably is a way to go because the Muslims have become a stakeholder and contributor in those schools. They also pay taxes which government is using to pay staff and also fund amenities.
The Alumni association known as old students which comprise of majority Muslims are also contributing to repair those schools. You can see that Muslims are already stakeholder.

Outside Ilorin, Christians are much in public schools like ìsìn local governments, Omu Aran and others. So you build large space schools in the center of ilorin where Muslims are dominated, and you expect them not to attend while collecting fund from state government. This may not be possible.

The very small population of Christians in ilorin made them not to attend Muslim public schools, and even Muslim private schools.

Please don't respond with emotions, come with fact.
