There's no need for "sense" when faith is involved.

Christianity EtcRe: Spotting The Difference Between The Holy Spirit And Evil Spirit by qstar(m):
cescky: satan is the God of this world, read that bible thoroughly Jesus even mentions this several times, adam was the ruler of this world till he lost and gave his authority to satan.....
Talking about Satan, which of the Satans exist?
Is it the one that's an enemy to Allah? or the one that's an enemy to Yahweh? or to Shivu? Zeus, Krishna, Shintoa, etc?

This, ofcourse, disregards the fact that each God tells His followers that the other Gods are Satan's accomplice too. The world over has practiced nothing less than 30,000 religions, each with it's God(s) and dogmas.

An almighty creator doesn't necessarily need an enemy. He/it/she is.

Christianity EtcRe: What If Life Is A Dream And Death Wakes Us All Up ?? by qstar(m): 9:37pm On Jun 30, 2014
kayce911: it is not unending dream, death wakes us up to face the real life.
life is mystikal
When we were in high school. We were taught "characteristics of Living things". Death is just a confirmation that you were once a living thing.
And death is the end-point. You live once, one day we all die.

Dream is just one of the functions of a living brain, when at rest. It shares similarity with imaginations when awake. A dead brain together with a dead body are all gone, contributing to the eco-system cycle. That's all.
Christianity EtcRe: Questions That Baffle Me About God by qstar(m):
Kei144: I can only present my answer to the question of this thread from the viewpoint of the Christian Bible.

Job 1:6 One day the angels [Hebrew the sons of God] came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan [Satan means accuser.] also came with them.
Job 1:7 The LORD said to Satan, “Where have you come from?” Satan answered the LORD, “From roaming through the earth and going to and fro in it.”
Job 1:8 Then the LORD said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no-one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.”
^^^
These are part of the stories that confirm the bible as a book of fairytales. I never knew people believed that episode. To start with, who was there recording God's conversation with Satan(His supposed enemy)? An omniscient and omnipresent writer, i guess. Such writers intermittently appear in the Bible stories, like when Jesus was taken to places for His temptation. A writer was busy accompanying Him.

Next, God was just placing bet on Job with His counter-iconic Hero (Lucifer). Who knows if he has lost the last bet and been usurped.

kei144: God created so many (almost infinite) things in the universe.

1Co. 13:9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part,
1Co. 13:10 but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears.

1Jn. 4:16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.

When perfection comes, in Eternity, we will all realize the meaning of "God is love."
What love is there in creating a being that you have predestined(as an Omniscient God nah) for "Hell"?

Besides, the whole concept is just warped.
When we get to hell, as eternal beings, we won't die.
The only difference would be that we'll be crying to Lucifer endlessly, while those in Heaven will be kneeling, bowing and prostrating to Yahweh endlessly too.
And there will still be freewill in the mythical afterlife ('cos Lucifer once existed in heaven, according to the fairy, but He used his freewill to challenge Yahweh).

Mtcheew! the only thing that's gonna happen after death is: SLEEP. Yes, sleep, unending sleep. And don't ask me about indestructibility, 'cos, as matter that we are, energy and matter are indestructible, can never be created nor destroyed

Christianity EtcRe: Questions That Baffle Me About God by qstar(m):
Rhymeyjohn: 24 years?!, so obviously, you are above 30, i thought older people should act/talk wiser. If you know my age, you'd know you are insulting your years. Rather than being directionless about life, why not answer the simple questions.
Were you ever a christian? (not how many times you read the bible through, ok?)
Any concrete relationship with God ever (answer straight, please dont blab)
Whats life's purpose without God?
Am waiting for your diginified (i hope you are a dignified person) response. thanks
Then, you are not welcome into this thread. The OP emphasized that he doesn't need fanatics or immature comments. You may wish to hold an intellectual debate with an atheist. "Mazaje" is an atheist on this forum, if you feel you have read enough, please start up a thread on the issue of religion and God. Invite him, he will glady honour it, I promise.
Christianity EtcRe: Questions That Baffle Me About God by qstar(m):
Rhymeyjohn: The issue about atheism is like a young adult, after growing to know his/her freedom as a adult suddenly proclaims, I HAVE NO PARENTS, I DROPPED FROM THE SKY AND I CAN PROVE IT, such is the claim of one who says i used to be a christian, but now an atheist. In a bid to prove intellectual, they make uncautious assertions. To claim that you 'know' some one [or God] and later claim the person dosent exist is the height of delusion.
You really do not have anything to say. To say the least, in some instances, some people do doubt the genuity of their parents. --- a DNA test sorts that out.
Even if they weren't your real parents, atleast, they would still have shown some care. But, why is God claiming to be the head of the family of this universe and has also disappeared into oblivion?

Stop calling atheists fools.
Matthew 5:22 "But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgement. Again, anyone who says to his brother 'Raca', is answerable to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says, 'You fool' will be in the fire of hell".

Besides, every religion tags whoever that does not believe in it's God(s) "infidel" and "fool". So, going by religious books, we are all fools.

That doesn't conform with the current morality standards.
Christianity EtcRe: Questions That Baffle Me About God by qstar(m):
Weah96: LOL. Mankind fell from grace once. Human sacrifice was required to restore grace. I wonder what's stopping us from falling a second time. Maybe the ritualists are correct, human sacrifice does bring riches.
The biblical God is simply incompetent. Actually, in the bible stories, man fell more than two times and he(God) sought a remedy on each occasion.

The first was in the garden of eden.
The second was during the time of noah. He(God) committed the world's greatest record of genocide.
The most recent was about 2000years ago.

Predicting from the Bible stories, he(God) would soon come up with another impotent attempt. That is, if He is still alive now, maybe karma has caught up with him.
Christianity EtcRe: Questions That Baffle Me About God by qstar(m):
Rhymeyjohn: The problem with many of you sudden weary mind wanderers is that you have been spoonfed and filled with religion, you suddenly stumbled on atheism, and a factory reset was on. Any question that follows [from the new atheist] is just a product of his great confusion, and that why reason dosent make an immediate effect even to the atheist who thinks he is reasoning. Arguments too wont help matters.
OP, please calm down and read this www.nairaland.com/1333818/gulibility-ex-christian-atheist and answer these question here
Were you ever a christian
Any concrete relationship with God ever?
What's your purpose on earth if there is no God Please sir, direct and short answers.
Popular atheist Betrand Russel said, LIFE ONLY HAS A PURPOSE, WHEN GOD IS DEFINED
I have read the Bible times without numbers.
I have been a christian, a jim-jim brother, for years, in the past.
The problem with most religious peeps is that most of them have not even finished their Bible. Most of them are just lazy and fearful. Their brains have been irreversibly programmed.

hmmm

Christianity EtcRe: Questions That Baffle Me About God by qstar(m):
God is often depicted as omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient, omnibenevolent, omni-omni, etc.

This means, God is aware of every little thing,
good or bad, that is going to happen in our
universe.

To believers, this position cannot even be
questioned. It's just what it is.

Free thinkers however, would consider such
statement as implying cowardice and laziness.

If God created heaven and earth, and all its contents, it invariably means that we all belong to God. Sort of like one huge family.
There are those among us who do nothing but work hard, praise God, and handle our responsibilities to our family and friends.
From time to time, natural disasters occur that wipe out good and bad people alike. Families are shattered. Children lose their parents. Examples are Tsunami, Katrina, volcanic eruptions, tornadoes, etc. Furthermore, there are terminal diseases such as cancer, AIDS, that afflict and kill millions yearly.

I presume God knew about all these before they happened.
God should also have the power to stop them, or at least reward good and innocent people by sparing them the agony.

If God had the power to stop the disasters, why
didn't he?

The fact is, if I know of an impending catastrophe that is going to hit my family, and I have the power to do something about it, I'd do something to prevent it, or at least get the good people out of the way.

Why did God ignore things and let people suffer in
this manner, particularly small kids who end up
losing both parents, or a family losing its only
breadwinner.
Christianity EtcRe: Where Are These ATHEISTS? by qstar(m):
The signs of the "end time", as listed in Matthew 24 are:
(1). Wars and rumours of wars.
----These have been happening even before Jesus was born. Conflict and misunderstanding are part of humanity.

(2). False Prophets.
----This is so recurring that one even suspects "Jesus" himself.

(3). Earthquakes and world disasters.
----This one just nailed it. Are these supposed to be prophecies from an intelligent fellow?

----------------------------------------------------

The bottom-line is, if i were to tread the path of the Bible, the end-time signs for Africa are:

(1). There will be rainy and dry seasons every year.
(2). There will be 364days in a normal year.
(3). Majority of West African's populace will be dark-skinned.

Lol. End-time started immediately life began, before Moses and Abraham, the Bible's endtime had begun.

Sammy Hoe: Whether you like it or not, you are a quick sand moulded by my God, no matter the rubbish you yarn here. wink
I don't know when and where you were created. It is left for you, the proponent of such to prove it.

For me, what i know is that: my father fertilized my mum, that is how i came into being.

alexleo: Thise who laughed at God when they were alive are now crying and begging in hell for a second chance to repent. Don't be like them. Better enjoy the love of God now that you are alive. Having said that, let me still remind you that God is not your puppet. He has every right to do whatever he likes. You are only a creature and there's nothing you can do about it.
The God you serve is in your head. The God i serve can not be offended!

Anyway, if you were molded/created, I am very sure that whoever molded you can't be a God.

alexleo: Because he wants to create satan(mind you, he wasn't satan initially). God is in charge and he puts things in place how he likes it just like you put things in place in your house how you like it.
Lol.
The Christian God makes me laugh.

I am an omniscient being, and i know that the robot i'm about to create will later be causing havoc. I still go ahead and create it.

Who should take the blame of the havoc(s) when they begin to happen?

alexleo: God did not create hell for man rather for satan but those who choose to align with satan will surely be with him where he is. There's nothing you can do about it. If you don't like how God made things that's you own palaver. It doesn't change anything at all. Gone are the days we bothered about this kind of nonsense post from you people. God is the one and only almighty above all things. To him be glory, honour, power, dominion adoration forever and ever. Amen.
Why did God create Satan?
