hmmm the chicken and the egg;

refineries aren't working and so fuel is (which is bullshit imo because the fuel is still expensive and unfordable) -

VS

because of subsidization refineries aren't working.

The government is taking the WHOOOOLE COUNTRY for a ride!

Thank you naijangel posting those photos just proved what the opposition are saying! You google natural african hair and get back a bunch of photos that show EVERYTHING BUT!!!

Not to even spk of the fact we cant compare african americans or those from the carribeans to pure africans. African hair is WEAK and cant grow long! Its pattern of growth doesnt allow it to be combed down or held in a pony! sister locks was probably a soln the immigrants came up with to tidy it up a bit. These men should think before they start running mouth! The same men that start saying 'why dont u look like the woman on tv' will be lamenting 'why isnt ur hair natural' u cant have it all mate!

Im nt too sure 190 ,if anything its probably sold in the states, i know its safe, its hormonal, i think it controls sperm production and release. It wont be a good idea for it to be released in nigeria because it will encourage the spread of std. We definitely dont want that! Lol wink

I am going to stop my girl from using chemicals on her hair, its either she takes my advise or she loses the admirations she constantly gets from me.

Why do girls want to look the same way like every other girl? why can't you just be salient? different from others?
spoken like a typical Nigerian man! *smh*

Romance › Re: Seeing Or Being With Your Boyfriend/girlfriend Too Much by queensmith: 8:24am On May 15, 2011
I heard couples that play together stay together. It makes sense since ive noticed the couples that are arnd each other 24/7 ALWAYS have succesful marriages. And that theory isnt even culturally specific.

So yes i think if you both dont mind being in the company of each other alot then its good for your relationship.
Romance › Re: He Says His Birth Control Pills Ran Out by queensmith: 8:20am On May 15, 2011
Male birth control pills and injections do exist. But i doubt its mainstream yet- so the ops story isnt totally unbeleivable. If he is truly using them ,the drugs will still be very expensive and probably exclusive. The problems with male chemoprophylaxis is that they wont use it, i think thats why trials were probably abandoned.
Romance › Re: How Can I Make My Girl Friend Love Me? by queensmith: 8:17am On May 15, 2011
Awww i dont think you can make anybody love you- i think first you have to love and respect yourself. If you feel like your being treated below par express it to your gf and if things dont change then you have to move on to someone whose love you'd be sure of! Good luck xx

Family › Re: Am I Doing Wrong By Supporting My Boyfriend Financially? by queensmith: 8:11am On May 15, 2011
@listentome. *vomit*

@jenny- yes i heard you the first time

Yeap, my views havent changed, i dont think anybody should financially support anyone in a romantic relationship!

@ chaircover- your story probably will be inspiring to many but i have a big problem with some things, i dont think its right to marry or start a family unless your completely capable of providing for them. It bothers me when i see a man with no job, no ambition no plans for himself but what he is sure of is who he wants to marry and when.

This isnt anything personal, but i see alot of Nigerian men carry that strange mentality of simply hoping for the best. Life doesnt work like that and as much as i appreciate you rising above the tough times and now having your testimony, i think its very wrong to encourage young women of this time to be the same. We have more opportunities before us and less excuses not to be able to fend for ourselves.

Our brains are much more trustworthy than our hearts
Fashion › Re: Is Anyone Else Sick Of Hair Attachements In Our Black Ladies? by queensmith: 6:50am On May 15, 2011
Its very very ironic that the photographs most of you posted are not natural at all, theres still extensions chemicals and the likes
Fashion › Re: Is Anyone Else Sick Of Hair Attachements In Our Black Ladies? by queensmith: 2:56am On May 15, 2011
Thats the fashion world for you, its ever evolving and the economy of things nowadays means everybody can afford everything so you have every black (african) girl wanting to look like beyonce or one of the cast of the essex crew.

Now i have nothing against poor people spending £500 on extensions ,my problem is the fact that it looks tacky and 2ndly the girls in nigeria are boring me to death with the lamentations! What the hell ,your in the worst school in the country, yet your feeliing proud because your hair costs more than your school fees?? Really now?? Mislaid priorities muchly??

Now as per the natural hair thing, go and sit down. Black men are the only race of men that love to put thier women down. If you like hair natural, thats your choice and your opinion dont expect the whole black community to feel the same as you and dont think theres any value wearing natural hair adds to your life!

her name is titilayo- so im guessing shes nigerian. the only thing that makes it a big deal to me is if she was born and bred abroad. Unfortunately parents dont feel the need to teach thier children yoruba. . . . . well done titi

@queensmth et al, lets roll back a bit. Single moms wether we like it or not have come to be part of our society. I cant completely smile at a lady goin out of her way to become a single mom, (unfair tho, which ill come back to) just hoped dis thread will encourage those who erred already to dust up, turn around this reproach & make something good of it. But then We cant encourage dem if we treat them like outcatsts, all they did was preserve a life & nuture it. I am anti-murder, well maybe dats my downside
Im not saying i dont like single mothers, im simply saying the praise is uneeded. I agree with moivating single mothers to train thier kids into better, brighter and complete homes. But I dont agree with making them saints for a situation they could have been smarter about.

As per the anti murder comment, its easy for you to say since your a man. Thatisall!

Today we cry out about d decadence of society, when we gladly accept the unclothed "SUN girl"on dailysun newspaper, gladly buy a toy gun as a perfect gift for you or your bros baby boy, accept all sexual & vulgar language and violence on tv with a smile. These are what shapes the lives of kids if u dont know. Sadly a lot will make mistakes b4 they realise & turn around, such is the case of teenage pregnancy & juvenile violence.
Yes dose girls R wise 4 keeping d pregnancy society can take it 4rm there
i agree with all except the bolded part, whats 'wise' about it? being preganant is no reason to have a baby, theres no wisdom in it whatsoever. . . . . . im sure most don event think about the situation they are in or how the child will be taken care of undecided undecided

anyways imo the topic is bs, I dont see anything heroic about having a baby by yourself, most of the kids either follow the same path or turn criminals. Why on earth will anyone celebrate that?

I sympathise with the family of the bereaved. Such violence should not be taken out on the Nigerian youth, no matter the cause. The gesture is a good one, but how well thought out and its execution remain to be seen. My question is: where is this money coming from? does Nigeria now have an account or something for such causes? I will just like to know. Is this coming from GEJ's personal funds? Will this become the new norm?
Ideally there will be a government body that will deal with these kind of cases. Since in Nigeria there is a complete absence of everything it probably doesnt exist thus GEJ pulling random figures out of his arse undecided undecided
It will probably work by checking the levels of incompetency across all agencies that resulted in the incident and then paying the victim accordingly.
Im sure some governments will even take out insurance, but im against that because it will excuse them for not paying attention (unless the insurance companies are very thorough)

This is perhaps the 'dullest' president in our history.
This is very characteristic of his knee jerk reactions without thought.
One, 5million is nothing compared to what these folks would have earned in their lifetime.
Two, is it now an official govt policy to compensate dead corps members' families?what about dozens that die every year while travelling to serve their fatherland?
Are they not entitled to compensation? After all they didnt decide to travel across Nigeria of their own accord
How much do they give the family(ies) of dead soldiers? Will he also be compensating the families of those ones who died in jos last year?
How much has he spent on training his Niger Delta terrorists?
and most of all how many people are going to be punished for this crimes?

I am really sad for Nigeria.
Its nothing to do with dullness jare- the man simply just doesnt care! and can you blame him? why should he?? his daughter didnt die, his wife didnt die, he sister wasnt burnt alive, he's simply throwing these crying doggies some treats so he can continue with his government of corruption!

The worst thing about this whole situation is that this will be the end of it! They probably wont even end up paying the families, theyll just announce nonsense left and right and continue their rancid dealings as usual!

To say Nigeria is a fcked up state is a notorious understatement! this is soo painful!

Ojoyi:
though the federal govt. is not paying for the dead, I think 5 million is too small especially for families that sent there children abroad to study.
Equity and equality are not the same. this is not equity but equility. it is therefore not fair on some families.
cant this money be made up to 20 million. by this the killings will be discouraged because the perpetrators will not like to see they benefitted the families of the diseased and will fear that the next time the compensation might become a hundred million.
GEJ think about this.
No the point of compensation is not to 'pay for the child' The compensation is a way of the government being penalised for not doing what they should. Thats why compensations are always excessive. the same for speeding tickets and penalty fines- they are excessive to prevent you from committing the crime again! the government should fork out 100 million to all those families! That will hurt them enough to tighten up security in those areas and definitely bring all those responsible to justice!

THOSE FAMILIES SHOULDN'T TAKE THAT MEASLY AMOUNT FROM JONATHAN!!!!
NYSC › Re: FG Promises N5m Each To Families Of Slain Corps Members by queensmith: 9:14am On May 11, 2011
GEJ must be running mad! THEY BETTER NOT EVEN TAKE IT! I hope none of the parents have taken this pathetic sum yet? 5milli wont even cover the cost of a decent lawyer!

LET HIM KEEP HIS PATHETIC CASH AND PROSECUTE THE GOVERNMENT FOR CARELESSNESS!

100 MILLI OR NOTHING!
