^^ you know what, I'm not going to continue arguing with you because it isnt going to change anything- All those who tried to promote change and expose the western governments of imperialism ended up dead or ended up surrendering. If they died for the likes of yourself, they truly wasted all thier time!

watch them again- none of those videos prove gadaafis army opened fire on protestors
the second video shows people running out of a burning building, these soo called peaceful protestors set fire to a government building. You go and try it in the US or UK and see what happens to you

Im guessing you also defend what happened in northern nigeria as 'peaceful protesting'?
justwise:
So if they are living like kings why then are they fighting? Or could it be that only Gaddafi and his tribe are living like king while the rest starve? If all Liybans are living like king then everybody should be happy. Are u really serious? Who in his right mind stays in power for 42yrs? Is Gaddafi the only Libyan? Gaddafi is a murderer, an evil dictator, the USA did not start the revolt against Gaddafi, his own pple started it then he decided to crush everything that stands against him. Libyans finally summon courage to challenge him just like the Egyptains and Tunisains did and won.
EXACTLY!!!! who exactly is fighting who! this is a civil war! the libyans are fighting each other! Most of them actually want gadaafi to remain in power! but of course sky news wont show you that! Or why do you think all this is happening NOW? how many libyans do you personally know?? how much suffering do you hear of?
Foreign Affairs › Re: Osama Bin Laden Is Dead: His Body Is In US Custody! by queensmith: 1:05am On May 04, 2011
Dead or alive i dont see why u people are soo bothered. Even if osama killed 3000 people- america have killed over a million civillians finding him. I dont see why anybody should be sacrificed for anyone. American lives or otherwise. These countries have it bad enough without people being slaughtered raped abused and humiliated just because of a crazy governments agenda to take over the world??
Anyways whats done is done- it doesnt really matter, unfotunately we dont get toc choose the world we live in and I got stuck here with ignorant fools   undecided
America will re-conolise asia and africa, africa will be more backwards than its ever been and you will be raped of everything you ever thought you had, no turning back now- check your countries the americans are already there.
I am however dissapointed with this story, i thought the american government with all thier 'intelligence' could have come up with summin much better than that! Judging by these responses, i see why they didnt bother to try!

Ifunaya- you keep praying, also pray for more knowledge and while your at it pray for enlightment.
The libyans are currently an enemy of themselves, has anymody thought of what will happen if/when gadaafi is assasinated?? Are any of you people aware there is currently a self proclaimed government+ leader operating in benghazi as a result of this rif-raf? Doesnt that kinda defy the whole explanation the media is giving you for the war? Have u ever asked yourself is gadaafi is soo bad why have they waited till now? Do you know where these soo called 'civilians' u keep lamenting on about are getting thier highly specialised and dangerous military weapons from? Do you know many libiyans? What life in libya is like? How much is university education currently in the area you live? Are you aware that almost every war started or fuelled by the US involves an individual that once had close relations with them? Do you know the history of osama. Saddam hussein? The likes? Dont you realise this is exactly how it starts? The us assasinates the leader places thier puppets there and keeps thier soldiers in foreign lands to keep the people from protesting, the only country gaining from any of this being the western ones and the end goal/result is POWER! THAT is the meaning of imperialism and im dissapointed that people dont realise that is what the americans are doing. Are you aware of the current state of the US right now? They are running out of excuses for the wars and the economy is crumbling, yet they continue to pour billions into warfare, you think they are doing it out of sentiment? Please use your brains! The americans cause war! Are the primary source of war and are the only real terrorists.
The saddest thing is obama will claim to have solved the conflicts he started and be seen as a hero rather than the villians and satanists they really are!
Foreign Affairs › Re: Gaddafi's youngest son and 3 grandchildren killed in NATO air strike by queensmith: 7:06am On May 03, 2011
The craziest thing still is nobody knows why these people are fighting. I mean the media tells you this the government tells you that but still nothing adds up. I know its getting cliche but I agree with what cap28 is saying, its normal to feel angry when innocent people are dying at the hand of 'superbullies' just becuae they can.
Anyway i did a little research and the bottom line remains, libya is a good country to live- i dont know many libyans. Education and healthcare is free, there economy is relatively stable and you can own a house for as little as 400 dollars, Nigeria isnt half as great as that yet the people recycle thier useless presidents! So the question remains- if libya has truly been unbearable why fight now?? Theres definitely a connection btn these events and obama questionable killing of 'osama'. Im guessing these leaders probably personally knew osama and will have known better than the trash obama gave on tv.
The wars were probably a way of occupying them so they can claim to have magically ini mini moed osama out of a jungle (or whatever he said) without any question from these (libya, tunisia, egypt) leaders,
Its always important to think for yourself, dont let the media think for you,
NYSC › Re: List Of Corp Members Killed In Bauchi As Released By Nysc by queensmith: 12:23pm On May 01, 2011
Wow' may thier souls rest in peace.

This could have been anyone, anyones brother, sister, cousin or even father. The deaths of these corpers could have been avoided very easily. Let this be the first mark of the current governments failure; .failure to protect the state. Not all of these corpers worked with inec. Seun adewunmi didnt, i hope the families dont rush for token compensations. We need the government to stop denying everything and finally start taking responsibility for thier actions.
Health › Re: W.H.O Bans Some Malaria Drugs In Nigeria by queensmith: 2:46pm On Apr 27, 2011
Most likely to be because of resistance, in that case it will only be limited for a couple of years soo when next its re-released the drug will be more effective.
IMO the side effects of chloroquine outweighs its benefits, the illness caused by chloroquione in most is worst than malaria itself.

Nigeria should focus more on improved national health, malaria is only bad in cases where immunity is already compromised.
Politics › Re: Delta State Gubernatorial Elections by queensmith: 12:21pm On Apr 27, 2011
Can anyone confirm what will happen to the votes that were clearly rigged? Were the ballots that were Box-napped (inevitable pun grin) be nullified?

if not opposing parties should contest it without delay. its one thing for these crimes to be carried out, its a completely different scenario if they get away with it!

Politics › Re: 3 Bombs rock Northeastern Nigerian City; Many Dead - North Now Like Iraq by queensmith: 3:44am On Apr 26, 2011
Theres power in numbers, there should be a thread dedicated to everyone that has been slaughtered, lost business, missing family and etc. These people need to find an avenue to let thier shreiks of despair be heard. People cant continue to die while the world ignores it. Theres mass genocide in Nigeria and nobody bloody knows!! Numbers being pulled out of arses! Im sure they will simply round the bodies up and burn them because people mean nothing to these leaders.
I never really advocated the split because i knew the southerners will get greedy and want the country split in pieces, however i do strongly believe the hausas dont need to be a part of Nigeria, they make absolutely no contribution to the country, unless its high numbers of outdated parasitic disease and infections the world thot theyd eradicated! I always try to keep an open mind but these people piss me off! If your serious about a gathering to discuss splitting Nigeria please feed us on that. There should also be an independant news source that will report all of these genocidal killings. Together we really can make it happen!
Politics › Re: Breaking News: Fresh Bomb Blast Kill 12 In Kaduna by queensmith: 7:20am On Apr 23, 2011
Ill take this news with a pinch of salt, the innocents killed in the riot were never covered by secular media. Its such a shame, they were massacred and thier deaths ignored. The government should release the names and photographs of all those killed. The families should speak out, nigerians have a right to know the failiings of the government and those poor people brutally murdered shouldnt die in vain. Where are the dependant reliable nigerian news sources? Must everything to do with that country be shaky? Kmt

Nairaland is represented predominantly by southerners and so a lot of the comments about hausas lately are very negative and I wanted to use this thread as an avenue to let hausa members (esp. those living in the north) to air their own views and opinion on the current affairs in Nigeria.

I personally am trying to see things a bit from northern perspective because I know we are all human beings and people tend to rationalize the decisions that they make. I think i've had enough igbo/yoruba perspective of the "barbaric" northerners. This thread is for Hausa to speak for themselves.

No abusive, condescending words allowed here.

This is the  problem we have in Nigeria. We dont see ourselves as one. The reason we dont is because we refuse to intergrate our cultures. This due to poverty lack of education and low employment.
Nigeria is full of a multitude of languages and all we need to do is encourage intertribal education and merging do we all understand each other and see ourselves more and more as one.
Nigeria isnt the only country with lots of tribes, yet we are the only country with lots of problems! Those that blame the problems on the tribe of leader shouls remember that igbos yorubas hausas and fulanis have ryuled and have all failed. This current leader including, he will rule for 4 maybe even 8 years and he will make no observable difference. Corruption will continue poverty will continue and Nigerians will get no smatrter as we continue to trumple the globe in search of greener pastures.

Rather than point fingers and play the blame game all day why dont we collectively think of ways Nigeria can be better? Collectively decide on who should lead by experience devotion and merit? Voting due to religious and ethnic reasons never works anyway!

the youth in the north have every right to protest, protests are protected under the constitution, the elections were rigged and jonathan should not be accepted as leader until inec reviews the results and the process
you call maiming innocent people protesting? is that what you were taught?

Go hug transformer if u like. It was not rigged and ppl here hardly even know which party Buhari is under.

There is 24hr curfew in Kaduna state now. I was told helicopters are all over the skies there. My brother said soldiers are all over the streets now.
Buhari has just shown us that we made the right choice not to vote him!

Such a shame, such a big big shame, I received some very disturbing images on bb messenger. Why must things always come to this?
I blame the current government, they have spent all the years of Nigerias soo called democracy to steal as much as they could without even thinking of the repercussions. Now illiteracy and glorified terror from our own youths cause more deaths than disease.
Its such a dem shame  sad sad cry a dem shame!

Crime › Re: Nigerian Mother Jailed In The Uk For Sending Son To Nigeria. by queensmith: 3:25am On Feb 19, 2011
story is definitely not clear, there has to be more to it. The daily mail isnt known for its accuracy!

First things first, if there was legitimate fear for the child in the hands of his parents, since he is underage he would have been taken away by social services. There would never have been any sort of court order to begin with!
secondly its against the law to forcefully send your child away in the UK-british citizen or not, thats why the forced marriage laws protect them. While it might not specifically be for forced marriage, the child is still being sent away against his/her will and subject to torture and so on.
thirdly it sounds to me the judge is more annoyed that the woman refused to listen to the courts, rather than because she sent her child to nigeria

the boy has to be some kind of idiot sha, knowing very well his parents are tryna send him back why will he agree to go nigeria in the first place??

Looool here we go again, it never ever ends. Girl believe what you want to believe- if you want to believe all men cheat so you dont feel a fool when you man eventually does then soo be it. Its the stupidest thing to assume such nonsense knowing very well infidelity is the no1 breaker of relationships! If all men really did cheat all women will know it and cheating wont even be called cheating. I love how Nigerian men love to normalize their nonsense goes to show how much women mean in that society. As for me i dont tolerate cheating, not even for a second so no man can tell me trash!

Romance › Re: What Are The Advantage And Disadvantages Of Arranged Marriage? by queensmith: 8:43pm On Feb 07, 2011
tunene:
May be I am missing something here. You said the ethnic group with the most cases of arranged marriages have the highest divorce rate in Naija, may be you are talking of a different naija. The ethnic group with the highest cases of arranged marriage is the huasa-Fulani, the highest divorce rate goes to the Yorubas. Hausa women are generally known for endurance, they stick to their husbands, no matter what, even when the religion liberalises the man to marry 4 (which is reducing these days for obvious reasons). In yoruba, any small wahala, the husband either sends the wife packing or she packs her things herself. If it is not settled on time, that would be another divorce case.

Anyway, arranged marriages are still done in several places around the world even in Naija, a friend got married to an arrangee recently, though both of them are from very wealthy homes and they had enough time to meet and know each other. Arranged marriages can still work afterall nobody is forcing you to marry. Modern day style is to reccomend, you do further research.
God bless you jare- I was begining to wonder where she got her own statistics from!
tribes that practice arranged marriages have a close to 0% divorce rate- they have happier marriages that last longer.
