maclatunji: ^Dayo's infatuation might be something you don't want to turn-off with the wave of the hand. You might want to give a brother a thought and maybe a chance. I don't know, maybe I embarrassed him with my comment. It is still a sign of affection anyway. #Sorry for slight derailment everybody.

About Malcolm X, comparing him to 2pac and Notorious B.I.G. has to be a joke. As gangsters, those guys don't come close and as a Black activist and leader there is no basis for comparison. Malcolm was way ahead of his peers, even Martin Luther. If Martin Luther's ideals were imbibed truly by Americans, Nene wouldn't be here saying what she is saying as an African immigrant in America.
ok u may call me a conspiracy theorist with this one but i believe the racist, hateful, vengeful culture of gangs and violence started from him and his movements. I genuinely believe theres a connection and not a positive one.
People believe tupac is a black activist and leader? he started very much the same way? no? I dunno I understand where the black americans are coming from and as an african theres only soo much I can comment on, but I have very little respect for the direction most of these black movements take themselves. Very little, theres a difference between taking a stand for your race and being a racist.

Africaine: Its admirable that you are talking about money before signing the dotted lines,I can't begin to tell how important it is.
When I got married we didn't talk our money,I just assumed that since we were married it automatically meant that we shared and plan together and was I wrong. He took some financial that almost wrecked us witout telling me,he tried to cover up bcus I guess he knew he was wrong, but instead of things to get beta, they got worse and he refused to come clean, instead he was giving me stories that just didn't add up,things got so bad that I had to sell my car just to help correct the mistakes he made and by the time I found it was almost too late,we had lost almost everything,I was 7months pregnant wit our 2nd child when I got the true picture of hw bad things were,I had hypertension and was in hospital till gave birth,I felt betrayed and still trying to work out that part,a lot happened a whole lot I cnt go into right but with the grace of God we are working out our marriage and I have taken up all the expenses while he concentrates on repaying his loans which I have insisted I won't help pay anymore,
Today we much happier and we working on ourselves
So see poster, its good you spell out ur expectations in clear terms and same applies to her, both of you have to find a common ground, and if that doesn't happen, pls find ur way. This is experience speakinh oh!
Goodness, alot goes on. I know how an oyibo woman will have dealth with such a man. o dear o dear!

Family › Re: How Was Your First Year Of Marriage? by queensmith: 9:19pm On Mar 31, 2012
there seems to be a trend, both of your husbands seem to have relapsed when you got pregnant. Maybe they werent mature enough to handle a pregnant wife, maybe they arent even mature enough to handle marriage- I doubt things get any better when a drooling poopinbg baby is involved.

I pity you both, especially since your married into a culture that sees no wrong in such nonsense behavior. There is no excuse for a man to be walking home 5occlock in the morning or hangin out more with his friends when his wife is at home pregnant. Thats pure wrong, how would he feel if you started to hang out more with your friends and come home when you like whenever he felt sick? (something I suggest you try so your husbands understand).

Well I wish you both luck sha you seem to have jumped over this hurdle, sexts seem to be very common with married men nowadays im beginning to wonder why they bother with marriage at all if theyll spend the time texting other women. . .*sigh*

Romance › Re: What Is The Worst Relationship Advice You've Ever Gotten? by queensmith: 1:11pm On Mar 31, 2012
Coldfeet: angry The WORST advice I've ever taken from someone was from my now ex friend Nike! She told me that she knows someone who will make my PAPILO(sugar dad) at the time love me exclusively and give me whatever I demand! I followed her and was giving some unknown substance to lick and to speak my desires to a horn!!! after I'd written down the guys name and mothers name alongside mine. I was giving three little cuts on my chest and back! And that was it! My man became my mugu! He bought me a murano! Rented and stocked up a shop at a shopping complex in lekki! My bank account was at the greenest it has ever been! I lived the 'good' life! And funny enough I started refusing this guy sex and he never complained! One day my ex friend told me baba wants to see you o! And I thought what for? He has done his job and I've payed him! So I refused to see the baba. To cut a long story short AM THANKFUL TO GOD that i am still alive today to tell this story to whoever cares to read, all of a sudden I became dispensable! The guy doesn't have my time anymore! I crashed my suv hitting someone in the process, spent a lot on that! My business took a dive! I developed rashes over my body! The house I built in lekki had to be sold so I can offset my mounting bills! I became worst than who I was when I decided to manipulate my papilo. Today am happily married to a wonderful man and a mother of two belles and two princes! I had to give up all i acquired from that demonic union in order to survive and start afresh! The 3 little marks are still there to remind me of that time but I know that with time it will all fade away!! I gained the world and almost lost my soul! Ladies and Gents beware of use council you keep.
omg is this true??
Family › Re: I Need A Break. This Is Insane by queensmith: 12:16pm On Mar 31, 2012
Afamdman: @queensmith my advice to women in abusive relationship, for me I'll always want to find out the cause of the abuse. From the cause most times you get the solution. Now any man that beats his wife is a coward and should receive the same treament back, as a woman if your husband beats you, pls report his ass to the police so he can get his own share back, how do you as a man beat yourself, cause that what you do as you beat your wife and batter her face. Now to stop the abuse, its always in what caused the man to be abusive in the first place, but truth be told some women can drive a man insane, please ladies let a man be a man. The solution to abusive relationships lies in both parties wanting to learn how to be better partners for their partner and it actually takes 2 to fight it also takes 2 to learn to succeed in marriage..
when should she start investigating the cause of the abuse? while his fist is in her face or after? This advise is probably the reason women get abused in the first place, petting the problem.
being married shouldnt be that important, your welbeing should come first. suffering and smiling eh! carry on!

Family › Re: I Need A Break. This Is Insane by queensmith: 11:37am On Mar 31, 2012
Afamdman: I have only one thing to say, @debrief from reading in as many topics as poßsible, you only have one advice, leave that man. Don't get me wrong it could be a good advice, but if its your only advice to every problem, them your advice is suspect. Even in cases where the woman is clearly the problem you always find a way to question the man's action say its his fault the woman is acting like this, clearly something you preach against if its the woman getting the wrong end of the stick. Sometimes I wonder if you dislike men so much, why did you get re-married. Me thinks there are better advices for women out there dig deep and find such and advice and dish it out, clearly some women listen to you so please give good councel. Whatever happened to a woman reporting the case to the police, and have that stupid man be dealt with in the cell, and b4 you say it don't happpen ask, police don't condole wife beating, they will beat the crap out of any man that beats his wife. @jenny no be today I have learnt how to ignore your post a long time ago, thank God your not God we for all don die since. Amebo number 1 leave these women to come here and find solution to their various problem abeg and thankfully you don't own nairaland. Thankfully. Oya let the bashing of me start.
I guess your right, but most of us are looking from the outside in. It's never healthy to stay in an abusive relationship or with a manipulating partner and that is why many of us will suggest these women leave their partners. Especially when most of us are in healthy relationships and can tell the difference between good and bad. Most of these women do not know the choices they have and that's why we give it to them. It's not home wrecking, if anything we are encouraging women to build homes worth building, and not simply continue this cycle of abuse.
I know alot of men want to be loved no matter what, they want a woman that will solidly stand behind them regardless of how they treat them, they want a woman who won't question his dodgy behavior, won't bother him about his extra marital affairs and won't confront him if he is being irresponsible with the finances. Unfortunately for them life doesn't work like that, women are not doormats to be trodden over. What is your advise for a woman in an abusive relationship?

are you guys not official? arent you exclusive? I'm a little bit confused, if she's chosen you then I don't think you should be worried. Put your foot down and let her know that your not comfortable with the other men.
Romance › Re: What's It About A Shy Guy That Turns U Babes Off by queensmith: 9:00am On Mar 31, 2012
jacobscros: What is it about a guy who stutters and hesitates with shifty eyes and nervous ticks that turns u off ladies? Some of these men are even very handsome but just shy so what makes u not want to carry on a conversation with them when they come and toast you. Ladies do u personally give these kind of men a chance?
It doesnt turn me off? I find it quite adorable, plus any shy person will gain confidence once they start getting to know you. It will probably make dating more interesting than with cocky types.
