Culture › Re: Is Taking Care Of Your Parents Your Responsibility? by queensmith: 12:42pm On Mar 27, 2012
I absolutely love this! Soo many factors are involved apparently til today china has a problem with the ageing population and the previous one child laws, children are left with generations of mouths to feed, very sad indeed.

Nobody is coming to live with me, thats not even happening. No child is asked to be brought into the world, you certainly shouldnt have children with the sole hopes of depending on them in future its unfair.
However depending on the provision you have made in your working days your child may be more than happy to care for you full time following retirement.

Nobody should demand such nonsense and this old woman shouldnt be suprised if halfway through her joyous stay in her daughters home she is bundled to the nearest oaps apartmens! lol she is a ridiculous individual. Is she the only woman with children? If everybody decided such who will have time to work? Mshew
Health › Re: I Am 23Years Old But I Look 33 Years Old - Help! by queensmith: 12:30pm On Mar 27, 2012
I think your feelings are normal, its unfortunate but we live in an era where your very being is defined by your looks! There might be something genetically wrong thats making your face age abnormally so its advisable for you to see a doctor. If you are using vitamins and lotions that work you should continue. Plastic surgery isnt a bad idea too if you can afford it.

You can also visit a beautician who can give you make up tips to boost your confidence a little, above all i think its best to visit a psycologist to talk you through your feelings and how you can deal with the way you look. Your not alone sha everyone has a hurdle to jump when it comes to appearance, its how you approach it that matters.
Family › Re: Who You Marry Is Important For Your Community by queensmith: 11:57am On Mar 27, 2012
On a strictly personal level you are correct. but we are not talking solely about the personal level. we are discussing how our personal choices affect us on the community level. a nice white guy complimenting my hair and asking me out on a date is different from the topic at hand which is more about socio-economic power and community leverage among minority ethnic groups.

ex. Asians own 90% of all businesses in black neighborhoods. most of the businesses are family enterprises. is that a surprise?
I see what you mean and i still disagree, there is no such thing as black culture but i can say the asian culture is probably the most unique of all races.
Again i dont feel like the blacks as a community or a culture are owed anything ,its up to every individual to make a consious contribution to his or her society. We cannot rely on the success of others for this. A white person is not worried abt the race hir or her daughter will marry and where they will carry the wealth ,if that were the case western countries will not be u richest in the world. Being open minded in my opinion is the first step to civilisation, grasping at concepts like race culture and communities only hold you back. And thats the problem black women are having, they are reliant on men that have no respect or regards for them, they continue to give birth to men that refer to them as bitches, men fond of using abusing and abandoning their women ,i'm sorry but i cannot reconcile with any notion insinuating we owen anything to communities that drag us down. Its up to the women to sort themselves out
Family › Re: Is It Normal For A Woman To Shout At Her Husband? by queensmith: 11:50am On Mar 27, 2012
I disagree with all of you, youd probably say its fine when a man is doing the shouting so i wont bother with the nuiscance argument.
Anger is only natural and everyones coping mechanism is different, its natural for a disagreement to lead to heated exchanges , shouting and even swearing. Nobody is above this man or woman, violence and using children is very different.
just because he's a man doesnt mean he's above reproach! Mshew

Nobody owes anybody anything, once we have this understanding we can move forward peacefully. Black men do not owe it to black women, black women are not responsible for black men. Each needs to start respecting his and her own.
The women need to stop this undeserved loyalty. Be proud of who they are, what they stand for and stop intimidating men of other race. Men that respect thier women, dont make fun of their hair, dont disrespect them, dont take pride in being bad fathers and men that actually do things for society. Than those that, as someone delightfully put it, sit at the rear end of the the totem pole.

I think once thats understood, nobody will care who black men choose to marry!

Christianity Etc › Re: Lagos State Govt Demolish Five Mosques For Fear Of Boko Haram Attack by queensmith: 1:30am On Mar 27, 2012
This is a brilliant move, one cannot be sensitive in matters of national security. You move swiftly and decisively, you cannot tiptoe around religion or anything else for that matter. Does america think twice before bombing islamic nations? No they do what they need to and feed you lies after.

If london took sensible actions like this the pants bomber will never have happened and our international relations wont be soo damaged, we have a bad enough rep as it is. And people are still being radicalised in the universities of london!!

To those who do not understand, mosques are often used to breed and harbour terrorists, its used as a front to conduct illegal activities and raise money for terrorist organisations. There is nothing wrong with demolishing such a place once its discovered. You need to put sentiments aside and reason logically from time to time. Esp in a country like nigeria.

1. Yes 2. Desensitise herself 3. Have an affair.

Hope that is straightforward enough for u.

She will desensitise herself by doing what all nigerian women do and develop and imaginary alternate world in which their husbands love them and dont treat them like shit to remain sane and happy.

Your welcome

Jmoore- your obviously clueless, what does marriage have to do with the church when people get married in the courthouse? Non christians get married, are their relationships invalid?
You also know nothing of common law cohabitation. There are plenty of couples even in nigeria that arent officially married!

@DB- at least you realised you werent in the wrong. Many women will continue to kill their characters to please a man, why will you think you are less important than his pettiness?
Family › Re: Lack Of Romance & Intimacy In My Marriage by queensmith: 10:19am On Mar 20, 2012
to fight for her marriage is not important in this case. It's like trying to be friends with a sick man. First cure the sickness then work on the friendship.
if the reason there are problems is because he is abusive, get rid of the abuse and then work on the relationship.

hold on are we talking about the OP here or someone else?
Business › Re: CBN Raises Cash Limit To N500k For Individuals & N3m For Corporate Bodies by queensmith: 10:14am On Mar 20, 2012
forgive me if this is a foolish question, but does CBN have the right to impose policies on things that mainly concern the bank and it's form of operation?
For example- the cashless situation is the responsibility of the bank? The bank should decide what it's maximum cash limit will be and the charges according to the banks capacity? Or am I looking at this the wrong way?
I'm guessing these policies are to aid mastercard and Visa since I heard they are expanding in Nigeria. What I don't understand is why the CBN have taken to implement policies to make global giants more money at the expense (once again) on the Nigerian people.

An increased corporation tax or an introduction of VAT for example will make more sense to the economy than the run around on Bank charges.
And if the UK is anything to go by banks will abuse the policy to impose nuisance and probably illegal charges.
Family › Re: Lack Of Romance & Intimacy In My Marriage by queensmith: 9:36am On Mar 20, 2012
@DB it all boils down to our culture teaching children that a woman is worth less than a man. The minute we begin to treat the child different because she is female we encourage abusive behavior. It will only stop when women realise and understand they have choices and options. They don't have to rush and marry the first man that asks. They don't have to save face, they don't have to sit at home and be housewives, they don't have to tolerate abusive behavior.
We will shout about abuse up and down but things will never change so long as women are raised with the beliefs that a man can do whatever he wants as the 'head of the household'. Unintentionally raising abusers themselves.
Romance › Re: Co-habitation by queensmith: 9:24am On Mar 20, 2012
jmoore: You cannot separate cohabitation and premarital sex. Both compliment each other. When was the last time you read the bible??
That is exactly what I meant, so cohabitation simply implies premarital sex to the world. And that is most females problems! If your having premarital sex it's no bigger sin to live with your partner. Both will lead you to hell!

jmoore: There is a difference, a very big difference. It is about how you value your body "why would you buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?"
Do you want to be woman who the man milks for free or would you rather be "purchased".
again, if your having sex already what difference does it make? I'm not a piece of clothing so I don't want to be purchased and I don't believe marriage is a mans way of 'purchasing' a woman. Lawd almighty we need to get rid of these backwards ideologies.
Marriage is a couples responsibility, if they feel it's the step they need to take they will take it. Co habitation will not change that. Unless like I said they become content. And there's nothing wrong with that. I've seen couples live together longer than most marriages last nowadays. Besides the decision to marry is normally cultural and it doesn't determine anything but the money you spend on the ceremony. It doesnt validate the relationship rather peoples perception of it.

Romance › Re: Co-habitation by queensmith: 8:34am On Mar 20, 2012
there's no difference btn shackin up with your boyfriend and with your husband. it's the same you live with your partner. kapeesh
if you'll grow tired of your boyfriend you'll grow tired of your husband. There's no magical fairy dust sprinkled on the couple at the wedding. I don't know where on earth people get the idea.

the only argument you can go with is the couples being content wit the situation and not bothering to take the relationship into marriage, but then again if you are happy whats the point? You don't need to strain your relationship with labels that don't matter to you.

i don't remember seeing cohabitation in the bible sha- people are going to make it a bigger sin than premarital sex? Or are the women just afraid of what will happen to their social reputations with people knowing theyve shacked up with thier lovers? lol
Romance › Re: Can You Go Down On Your Knees To Beg A Man Not To Leave? by queensmith: 11:20pm On Mar 19, 2012
Well as opposed to how some will put it, the act is degrading, there is never the need for it. Be it feeding your husband at a wedding or greeting the elderly. There are many ways of humbling yourself or showing respect without compromising your dignity. Which i feel the act of kneeling or postrating is all about. Hardcore worship for people that like to be worshipped. How many of us even bother to kneel down to pray, esp in church these days. Something you haven't done for the deity you worship you will do for a spouse who is bent on leaving? I don't think so.
Besides its downright pathetic to take to begging in such manner, for the bible thumpers that want to use this opportunity to chat absolute sheet
