No im saying what is the point of being married if your partner makes you miserable. Nobody is asking for a fairy god husband. No one human being can dictate happiness.
If her husband isnt doing the opposite of making her happy why keep him around?

Ithen what was the need of getting a husband? You might as well be a single mom? If the relationship cant keep its flame

You sound like your more worried about your appearance than the woman sef. She was obviously going to waste your time so dont mind her.
Just make it obvious that you like the way you look and any woman you date plus her family must accept it.
If the dreadlocks look nice you dont have a problem!

i don't see why you have to? like someone has said, its not by force.

If you don't live in Nigeria the you have options, if you do then you can always go trek to ghana or Cotonou and pick a on nigerian girl from one of the villages, you can call her umfoofoo and buy her a zebra smiley

freecocoa: Yeah well i know what you mean darling but hey you gatta believe in love bebe cos its real.smiley
naa i'd rather not, something soo subjective. It's enough men and women manipulate the physical to exploit emotions.
I'm not on the bandwagon of employing nonsense to fulfill fantasies, if love existed it will be laid out clearly! no ifs no buts no coconuts. lol

besides, if i can be in a relationship and we both agree there is no love, its all good!

SimonAndal: _
Yes, it's actually there. The tattoo artist was looking at me like I was 'mucho loco'. But the funny thing was when my dad found out. He broke out laughing, but told me I would never outdo him. It turned out he has a Prince Albert. I was VERY gobsmacked when I saw it. It must've hurt like shite!
can you at least google an example smiley

whats a prince albert?

I was thinking of getting a tattoo between younno- one of my friends said she wants one saying 'follow the yellow brick road'lmao!
i think you guys like pain, whats the word for that?

@ new guy thats exactly it, we will make assumptions, incorrect ones no doubt. I don't think it changes integrity or morals, i just think it allows people to think so .
Romance › Re: 12 Years Of Unhappy Marriage by queensmith: 10:48pm On Mar 17, 2012
^^ it really is, especially with people getting married everyday. It's obviously no walk in the park for most.

I still think it can work, just have to take the time and make sure the partner is 100% right for you.

It also shows us you can date a dude for donkey years and still have no idea, or ignore his negative traits in excitement, thank God the normal age for marriage is gently shifting upwards. Women won't be in such a hurry anymore.

Bombshell77: Hi nairaland. I've been lurking around the forum for a few weeks now and have noticed some comments and replies about love and being heart broken so I'm curious to know how many of you have been in love or heartbroken. We can use this as chance air out our feelings so we can all feel better. So, let's get to it guys! Have any of you been in love? Have you been heart broken? If so, what did you do about being heart broken? Do you still talk to the person that broke your heart? Do you think about him/her? If so, why? Do you miss them? And do you think you'll love again? Oya, let the healing process begin cheesy
right lets see, been hurt before- yes

believe in love- no

will love again- see above

how do i feel- like a normal woman

what has changed- my tolerance for nonsense behavior

what did i do about being heartbroken- took various vindictive actions, verbal abuse, curses, attempt to pour hot oil, slice with a blade, you know the norm.

do I still talk to him/them- If i had the choice theyd all be dead, they keep buggin me but what can i do eh? you date a man you subject yourself to a lifetime of disturbances.

Do I think of him- see above

Do I miss him- see above above

Well i think that was a successful assessment grin
@OP: Anyone who says its not of our culture is either stüpid or lying to themselves. It is very much a part of African culture, especially Nigeria. Just because a bunch of colonial 419ers came to our land and told us that everything that makes us innately Nigerian is wrong doesn't mean it never existed in Nigerian culture. I personally am a lover of body art, so I have no problem when it comes to someone else having a tattoo, no matter where it is on their body or how big it is. It's not my life, nor is it my body.
I don't know about this, the tattoos (or what will pass for them) that i've seen in my culture are actually for a reason, not the same as the decorative tattoos we see today.

for one I think during the war tattoos were used to number and write addresses and DOBs to identify the children. I just learnt that (our parents) generation will place similar markings on their arms as fashion.

Though the attempt is the same it might connote a general youthful unseriousness and irresponsibility, it doesnt really matter if it's on someone else's body, you have placed it in a public place for people to see therefore giving them a opportunity to judge you.
Its the same as teens 'saggin' jeans, (o that rhymed!!!) The reason for this came from prison, if people started doing it on the street up and down what does that make you think about them?

SimonAndal: A year ago on my 17th birthday I got a tat. It was damn painful. I had a snake drawn from my navel down to my d|ck in such a way that it seems to open it's mouth wide, and curl around it whenever I'm erec.t. Cool innit? I'm getting another one next week when I turn 18. It's gonna be one every year.
OMG that is awesome!!!

lets see it!! pleeeeeeeeeeeze!!! lmao

Family › Re: How Do One Get The Husband To Pay For His Children's Welfare After Seperation. by queensmith: 10:13pm On Mar 17, 2012
Pennywise: It is a common fad especially in today's western culture for youths who either couldnt measure up or failed in life to put the blame on their father (in Nigeria, they will usually blame the devil). Sometimes there might even be insinuations of sexual abuse when there was none.
Are you saying that the absence of a father around the home doesn't negatively affect the outcome of the child?
In that case you are very wrong. What you call 'western cultured blame' is actually identifying one of the key causes of delinquent behavior.

Computers › Re: 'Inye': Made In Nigeria Tablet PC By Saheed Adepoju by queensmith: 10:06pm On Mar 17, 2012
denzel2009: All these ones on amazon are android tabs too http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_2_6?url=search-alias%3Dcomputers&field-keywords=tablet+pc&sprefix=tablet%2Ccomputers%2C214 and they are mostly shyte.

As a girl, would you have preferred inye to blackberry playbook if I want to give you a birthday present?
TBH I see pc tablets as glorified ipods, nothing they do that my old htc cannot. As a business owner i'm still trying to wrap my head around how using a pad will help me with retail operations? Call me ignorant but the only reason I won't sell the playbook immediately is because of the messenger grin grin or skype thats even if it works, or maybe if it has a good camera. . .and takes nice photos of my face tongue

Sha sha, inye might still have a chance, I won't compare it to the other non android tabs because the android OS seems to have more potential?
Business › Re: Cash-Less Economy: How Will It Affect You? by queensmith: 9:45pm On Mar 17, 2012
I don't see how this will benefit the economy as people will rather hold on to the cash rather than spend or deposit it?
So basically the situation won't change as people won't be encouraged to use banks? It will reduce the amount of money being circulated causing inflation.

I don't think this policy is a good idea either, people are to be encouraged to spend money and going through monetary policies is never the best option.
Instead the government should continue to encourage investment and industries by spending money (in the right places!)
Besides how are you to even regulate cash in a largely unbanked economy?

OK2NVME: My shaft is as smooth and shiny as a freshly scrubbed mahogany banister. one look at it and u will want to slide down d rail. not a single wart, or chancre can be found and also the U.S.M.C. does take her personel and officers' health seriously!
o trust me you have std's, the more sexual partners you've had. The higher your chances. Unless your having sex with virgins (and even so) you've caught something.
Romance › Re: What Advice Do You Have For My Pervert Friend? by queensmith: 10:42am On Mar 17, 2012
thats the problem with having fwb- one person will move on. It's tempting to want to keep a casual relationship with someone but if there's no commitment one party will always be looking for more.

(this will sound cliche) but I suggest you 'fast' off sex for a little while. Make lots of friends instead of focusing on females for sexual relationships. It will lead you nowhere and you will still end up lonely.
also to prevent yourself from being preyed upon make friends with people 'at your level' in your profession, connect with old friends, find richer new friends. etc

everyone gets pissed when their ex moves on, you just have to brush it off.
Computers › Re: 'Inye': Made In Nigeria Tablet PC By Saheed Adepoju by queensmith: 10:36am On Mar 17, 2012
denzel2009: It's not a matter of pessimism, if this guy is developing desktop computers or apps in google market, I'd have given him 100% support but tablets are relatively new and a delicate market to penetrate. HP had to pull their tablet from the market, RIM is struggling with playbook, there is sony tablet which no one is buying, acer aconia, htc and you are here talking about Inye?
But this is an andrid tab? I'd assume it will perform better than the ones you mentioned, it's linked to google which probably has the largest marketplace (or app store or whatever its called lol)
I'm no tecchie but I think this might have a chance- there are millions of tabs being produced out there but i think this one has a chance based on the patriotic marketing.
