The hospital was already existing before he became vice president. Just before he left office they issued a decree to convert it into a federal teaching hospital. The name was basically changed from Otibhor Okhae Hospital to Federal Teaching Hospital, Irrua.

it is a known fact na. Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, is situated in Idumebo community, Irrua, Esan Central LGA, Edo state. Aikhomu is from that community.

My dad said that people in Aikhomu's community had vowed to burn his house in the village when he leaves office. My dad died before Aikhomu left office.
