https://wealth.ng/wealth/fixedincome?sd=fix isoffering 3 yrs bond for 7.8%, what your thought on this?
emmanuelewumi:
Not for the average Investor. Most corporate bonds used to ask for a minimum investment of just 100k, but this one is asking for a minimum of N10 million.

The duration of the fund raising exeecise of most corporate bonds is 3 to 4 weeks, but this one has just 11 days.

Very few people currently have N10 million to invest during this pandemic. But I can assure you that this offering will get more than the amount needed and excess funds will be returned

Must Read: HOW TO APPLY FOR A JOB VIA EMAIL!

You’ve found a job that looks promising. You’ve got the required skills and experience. You’ve crafted a cover letter & polished off your resume.

Now all you need to do is to make a great impression and land that interview!

1. Your email address

Making a good impression starts with the email address you are sending your job application from. This is not the time to use that inappropriate email address you’ve had since you were 13.

If you don’t have one yet, now is the time to set yourself up with a professional sounding email address. A simple, yet good-looking option is to use a close variation of your full name. For example: samkabir@emailprovider.com

2. The email subject

The subject line of your email application is important to get right & another opportunity to appear organised & professional. You want to explain who you are & what you're applying for, all in one short line. E.g
"Sales Assistant Application- Sam Kabir"

3. The email body

You should never leave the body of an email empty when applying for a job by email. This is like a mini cover letter for the employer as it’s the first thing they will read. It should make them want to learn more about you.

Try something like this
Down pointing backhand index

#i Dear Hiring Manager,

Please find attached a copy of my CV for the advertised role.

I have two years experience in branding and marketing.

My core skills include xxxx, xxxx and xxxxx.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

#ii Dear Sir/Ma,

I have attached a copy of my CV & Cover Letter for the marketing role advertised on your website.

I am passionate about xx, xx & xx.

I look forward to being interviewed & joining you immediately.

I hope you enjoy the rest of the week.

Kind regards
Your Name

#4 The attachments

It is really important to give your attachments professional sounding names. Sure, you may be preparing a series of cover letters, but you don’t want to send something called ‘Cover Letter version 10’. To be safe, use your full name. For example: Sam Kabir CV

#5 Your email signature

It’s important to include an email signature at the bottom of your email so that employers can quickly and easily find your contact details. Include your full name, phone number and email address so they can see how to contact you at a glance.

Romance › Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-olu's Covid-19 Briefing This Evening. by QuinModah(op): 7:22am On Apr 28, 2020
*LAGOS STATE GOVERNOR, BABAJIDE SANWO-OLU'S COVID-19 BRIEFING THIS EVENING.*

Lagos lockdown:
*S.O.P FOR BUYING DAILY NEEDS ITEMS DURING MOVEMENT CONTROL ORDER COVID-19*

*BEFORE GOING OUT*
1. Appoint one representative only and the same person should go out everytime
2. List the items to buy
3. Wear a mask
4. Go out between 10 am-3 pm (when sun is shining brightly)
5. Prepare one plastic bag to fill in the change (do not put money in pocket or purse/wallet) or bring accurate amount of money

*WHEN YOU ARE OUTSIDE*
1. Do not stay outside more than 40 minutes
2. Keep your distance from others (1 meter)
3. Speak only when is needed
4. Decide which item to buy and grab it without hesitation (Avoid taking and putting back again)
5. Give the prepared plastic bag to put in the change, please do not directly touch the money

*WHEN YOU ARE BACK AT HOME*
1. Expose items that cannot be washed under the sun
2. Expose all vehicle keys and locks under the sun
3. Wash hands with soap
4. Wash washable items including money with soap and dry them
5. Discard plastic bags
6. Remove mask and discard

*FINAL PHASE*
1. Wash your feet with soap before entering the house
2. Wash and clean the entire body with soap and shampoo
3. Dry your body
4. Drink a glass of warm water.

The CoronaVirus is now at the *community transmission* phase. It means that there are (unknown) infected persons within our neighborhoods that are now infecting other people. It means that they have the infection but not showing clinical symptoms.

Here are my thoughts:

As we go forward, we must now *consider everybody around us as already infected*. This concept now must be your daily guiding thoughts on how to protect yourself when interacting with anybody outside your household especially neighbours. *Don't assume anybody is as sensible as you've been*. This is perhaps the only time, in modern history, to arrogantly consider yourself smarter than everyone around you, by judiciously doing *all you must* to stay safe.

This is also the time to begin to routinely wear *facemasks* as part of your clothing especially when stepping out of your house.
* Disinfect facemask before & after use
* Wash hands regularly with soap + water despite use of facemask
* Use hand sanitizer despite use of facemask
* Don't touch your face (mouth, nose, ears) ... unless with washed hands
* Obey other cautionary protocols

Facemasks are mostly unavailable or very expensive. So you can *improvise* using a bandanna, large handkerchiefs, turtlenecks (cut off) etc. The aim is to prevent droplets (from a cough or sneeze) of an infected person from entering your nostrils.

Another key point is to regularly discuss and remind your *household members to follow all guidelines too*. You're responsible for each other. Your family's health lies on weakest link, so keep everyone strong.

*#TakeResponsibility*
*#StayAlive*

*May God protect us*

Food › Food Scarcity Looming by QuinModah(op):
I've been meaning to share some of the analysis from the data we've gathered so far. As a rule of thumb, we periodically monitor food consumption patterns, production patterns, and direct to market (commodity flow) patterns in Nigeria.

Our predictions about food consumption before the lockdown was effected, has been surpassed, and I don't mean to sound gloomy, but it doesn't look good from here. We have a looming food crisis.

We're about to enter the May-July dry spell period where tomatoes/pepper becomes scarce in the market (tomatoes and pepper generally do not do well in the presence of plenty water).

The already fragmented supply chain in Nigeria, has been made worse by lockdown. Ramadan is going to worsen the matter. Kano is been touted to become the next epicenter of COVID on Nigeria, with their recent spike (arithmetic increase) in the numbers of persons who've tested +ive for Covid-19. Kano/Kaduna/Jos produces about 75% of Nigeria's fresh fruits and vegetables, Katsina, Benue, Kebbi/Sokoto, all compete for the remaining 25%. Since the lockdown is enforced in Kano, we're not just going to see a shortfall of supply in fruits & veggies, but Staples too. Kano controls most of the grains in the market - rice, beans, wheat, millet, maize, etc. Like I said earlier, it doesn't look good.

Yes, food producers have been added as essential service providers, but the security personnels on Nigerian roads don't know this, and are making a killing from the money obtained from the truckers moving these commodities.

The food you're seeing in the market now, is a product of last year's Q4 and this year's Q1 harvest. Production of food has alrey slowed since March. We're already missing out on the production circle of Q2, which is supposed to take care of us in Q3 & extend to Q4. That said, the forecast is that tomato/pepper cost will increase by 95% - 180% over the next 10 weeks at least, if nothing changes in the current trend. This increase in price is not restricted to tomato and pepper alone; all fresh fruits & vegetables that is grown & imported from Northern Nigeria, will from next week, see a significant increase (at least, 30%), in price, as fewer of this commodity will hit the market now, as the Muslim fast - Ramadan, usually being with it, a certain level of disruption in food harvest & distribution in Nigeria.

To drive the matter home, let me explain how this' going to affect your finances. As more job losses and salary cuts are anounced across board, personal budgets for food will change. It means that, if you usually budget N20,000 for feeding per month (to stock up on foodstuff), that amount, in the next 3 months at least, will not get you the amount of foodstuff it used to. You'll pay more to get lesser foodstuff than that (although, certain food prices will not change much).

Poultry farmers are currently having their worst time in the market. The day old chics that's supposed to grow into the big chicken you buy in the market, can't get their micro nutrients and vaccines, which is usually imported; and because of the logistic conundrum we're facing now, poultry farmers can't get the feeds they need on time. So, we're poised to see another drop in the amount of chicken meat available for consumption in the following weeks.

Also, certain processed foods will be disappearing from our supermarket shelves, until the world really flattens the curve, and countries now open their borders to ship foods.

What can you do?

I know it's hard right now, and people are struggling to stay afloat and survive; but if you can, stock up on vegetables, freeze them, and use them when the occasion calls for it. You can buy tomatoes and pepper in large quantities, blend them into puree, and freeze them.

You can also do some little gardening on your own. Before you raise your hands in protest, please Google "Aeroponics." You can make use of the wall in your backyard and plant enough tomatoes, bell peppers, and even spices. Google & YouTube can help you set it up perfectly, you don't need a special skill set for this.

I've said enough, and this piece is more lengthy than I initially intended. I'm sorry for the long read, but I just thought you might want to know what lays in the horizon.

Thank you for reading!

Arua Samuel
(Head of Operations, Slate Farms).

People will betray you, you can't escape it. What is more important is that you come out Better

Have you being betrayed before? Share your story, you might heal

Use share so others can learn

While I was working for a company. I got diagnosed of a kidney infection and was admitted in the hospital for two weeks. I was staying with my father’s elder sister at the time because my parents were here in Abuja

Two weeks of constant drugs, drips and injections on my *you know* and guess what, my aunt and her family never came to visit for one day. My friends(even tho I didn’t have a lot of them) were to busy to come see me. No company representative to pay me a visit.

Everyday I would walk to the little store close to the hospital to buy biscuits and yoghurt because no one would bring them to me.

Betrayal hurts so bad because it never comes from strangers but those of your household.

This is why I recommend people live like they are alone on this planet. Have zero expectations. Any human can become anything at anytime. When u expect so much from people, betrayal is inevitable. Live ur life without expectations.

Romance › Re: Why Women Tend To Hate Each Other? by QuinModah(f): 1:54am On Apr 02, 2020
A few reasons come to mind:

Women are encouraged/allowed to be extremely petty. There is seemingly no lower limit of socially acceptable pettiness among women. This gives more tendency to find reasons to hate another woman.

Women are encouraged to take a victim mentality. And also to use claims of victimsation as a tool for manipulation, authority to tell others what to do, and bullying as an alleged self-defense.

Women are encouraged to be passive, dependent, and to avoid full responsibility, thereby increasing the victim mentality. This leads to hatred of other women who are actively control thier own life

A common resentment dynamic is a woman who buys into the LifeScript of getting into a financially dependent marriage, having children, and then feeling trapped. She then meets a single, childfree woman, and hatred ensues.
Women are encouraged to have a pretense of “cooperation” over competition. However, this can encourage the view that, another woman who excels (or even just shows basic competence) in any way, is violating the “cooperation” mandate. Which can become, “You are obligated to cooperate by sinking down to my level (finances, status, intellect, autonomy, etc), or I will enlist other women to cooperate with me in viewing you as the enemy”.

“Cooperation” is also linked to “fairness”, which can be twisted into everyone receiving the same results, regardless of personal behaviour. And hatred for anyone doing better through her own higher effort or discipline.
Women may use a false, “I am being compassionate and trying to help you” pretense as a cover for pressuring another woman to “cooperate”, and sink down. And then as justification for bullying the ingrate who refused to do so.

Women are trained to emphasise interpersonal relationships, including platonic friendship. And so will fear being cast out and lonely, and/or having low status in a clique. Which then rebounds to bullying another woman with threats of interpersonal/social rejection.

Male-style competition is the drive to get more (money, status, etc) for one’s self. While female-style competition is the demand that, another woman must be pushed down, even with zero practical benefit to bully. Men need to win, while women need other women to lose.

The pushing-down impulse has a common pattern where, immediately upon meeting, the first order of business may be to confirm that, the other woman is at the bottom-of-the-barrel socioeconomically/materially. If she is doing any better (through harder/smarter work), hatred ensues.

There is mass insecurity over appearance, and this goes far beyond competition for male attention. A woman who is already in a stable marriage may still hate another woman whom she thinks looks better. This includes not only face and body, but also things like health habits (smoking, exercising, eating).

Another area separate from male attention/resources is homosexual females. They can be amazingly hostile towards another woman, and it tends to be competition-oriented. A related point is the huge sense of fear and victimisation that accompanies the numerical difficulty in small social circles and mating-markets. They meet another woman who isn’t their “type” of prospective sex partner, and so then defaults to being a competitor to be bullied. Some of the most petty, arrogant, false-victim, gaslighting bullies I’ve ever encountered were women.
