Ogbuefi2020: Your sarduana has been confined to core north as
“igbo superior political ideologies”
sweep through Christian north and makes in roads into yorubaland. Once free oil money stops to flow, the useless elites will be swept under by massive rebellion through independent minded ideologies from Igboland
SLAP44: While using Peter Obi sterling legacy, thats called regeneration and resilience.
Where is Awolowo and Sarrduana legacy again?
Actually if you think critically, Sardauna’s legacy is deeply embedded in Obi’s defeat and lives on in the certain defeat of anyone like him in national politics.
At least after the destruction of his APGA legacy, Ojukwu can manage the remaining legacy of being the Usain Bolt of his time.
Ojiofor: Peter Obi defeated Tinubu nation wide forget the fact that Aso Rock rigged the election in his favour. Peter Obi was in the race to win and he actually won.
Yes. He won the North in an unprecedented landslide victory. That he also won the SW doesn’t matter because they had the lowest number of registered voters and states in the country.
Obi swept Zamfara and Kano. From the almajiri to the Princes, Imams to the Sheikhs…the entire cities poured out for him just like they filled up his rallies and carried him shoulder-high as they delivered their winning votes.
helinues: Honestly, I must give kudos to my northern brothers and sisters for being loyal, accommodative and believe in Tinubu's presidency.
Without the chunk of votes from North, Tinubu would have lose the election. The northerners kept assuring us before the election that they appreciate both 2015 and 2019 gestures and they are ready to reciprocate.
Friends in need are friends indeed.
Yoruba's appreciate your support and we won't forget too.
muykem: Obidients are disillusioned. How can you win president without any inroads into NW and NE. Apart from lagos nothing in South West.
😂
Many people don’t actually understand this basic political logic. How on earth can you win the presidency just because you have more votes in the smallest region with the lowest number of registered voters, compared to someone who got more votes in more states in a larger and far more populated North & SW?
caracas: Lol Useless n corn-fused lots As if the greatest tribe in Africa cares… Even if Peter obi does not recover his stolen mandate we don’t care . So for our own sake pls don’t give any thing to us cos clearly the igbos had nothing from the last regime but came out tops , go n verify. Perhaps Buhari will be in a better position to tell you guys why his tenure would be regarded as the worst in the history of mankind…… He messed with the blessed race….. So it’s rather in the interest of Nigeria to beg n appeal with the igbos for positions….
But how? With endless sit at homes, rampant kidnapping & cannibalism, erosion, kerosene-sharing, boom in baby factories, mindless IPOB/ESN violence and murders, drug trafficking, Simon Ekpa etc? Top of what? It’s okay to console yourself.
Even those that enjoyed and witnessed the birth of several multi-billion dollar tech unicorns like flutterwave, modern inter & intra-city rails, urban renewal projects etc. in the last 8 years under Buhari do not beat chest like you do.
It’s your choice to take Soludo’s advice & stop nzobu nzobu politics and learn to strategically position yourselves or continue to roam around in political oblivion.
N3TRAL: David Mark was from the North Central. He's Nigeria's longest serving Senate president. The North Central cannot do it again.
What happens to the South South? Despite Igbo affinity, we gave Jagaban 25% in almost all the states.
Do you know the implication of an 80% for Obi in the South South like the South East? It would have been 11 States landslide.
How do you discredit how much work the likes of Wike, Akpabio and Oshiomole put in to preach Muslim Muslim Ticket to natives of an area with 98% Christians without mosques?
It's unfair.
Una yourbas no dey rate us 😡
Very annoying thread for most of us.
The chairman lost Nasarawa State his State to Labour Party in that same North Central.
Labour party won Plateau State in that same North Central despite producing the campaign chairman, an incumbent Governor.
Benue State was so close that it could have gone anywhere. It's technically a draw between LP and APC just like Lagos. The win margin of APC has no meaning.
If we count Abuja-FCT based on its geography and boundary, APC did not even see 25% there.
North Central voted along religious lines. Kwara is technically Yoruba and Kogi to an extent with Muslim population. Niger State has a massive Muslim population too.
The only christians in Nigeria that didn't give a damn about the Muslim Muslim Ticket apart from the South West were South South christians.
Also consider the fact that APC was the dominant party in the North Central before the elections. KWARA, Kogi, Niger, Nasarawa and Plateau states had APC Governors.
South South delivered beyond imagination for a region with only one APC governor who defected. The South South will have at least 2 APC governors on the 29th of May (Delta State and Cross River State). The region is going APC and you must reward the people.
Very valid points.
I’m also rooting for the SS for Senate President.
Oshiomole or Akpabio. The NW can then take Speaker.
I and the millions of other Northern voters that voted Asiwaju are patiently waiting to see from where Pandora wants to dig out the votes needed to win in our 19 states.
Also waiting to see the unfortunate **** that will try to steal the mandate we gave Jagaban.
muykem: Same on all the opportunist who want to ride on the infamous cashless policy to Aso rock. They are not concerned about poor people plight and welfare but their self interest. God that sees heart of a man has dealt with them, they will remain a loser.
I love the fact that Tinubu won despite the inhuman enforcement of the cashless policy.
Penguin2: For those who don’t understand complex composition, what Daily Trust Newspaper is saying is that the just concluded presidential election was a sham.
That the election shares a lot of similarities with 1993 election, and might as well share the annulment similarity with it.
Tinubu is not coming.
Peter Obi is coming.
The author, while emphasizing the several similarities between the ‘93 and ‘23 elections, was very clear about the main difference between them, which ruled out annulment.
The main difference for now seems to be that while in 1993 the presumed winner was not formally announced and the results were annulled, in the 2023 exercise the results and winner nave been announced in other to render it a concluded matter, at least for now.
Adiwana: It’s one thing not having a perfect system, it’s another thing doing what was done last Saturday. Having an election that puts this country on the brink of serious constitutional crisis is no progress at all. We can’t take 1 step forward and 10 steps backward
Not having a perfect system, and any irregularities reported in last Saturday’s election, are one and the same thing actually.
We might not be perfect, but we strive towards perfection. This is the spirit of the statement issued by the Nigerian Bar Association (professional body of lawyers) that gave INEC a 78-80% pass mark (an ‘A’ grade anywhere) for Saturday’s election.
It acknowledges room for improvement while also noting progress made by the INEC, especially with the use of BVAS and upload of results online for public consumption for the first time ever albeit being slower than expected. The real threat to our democracy are those that did not and cannot get the constitutionally defined 25% in a minimum of 24 states, but like Trump and his mob, insists that they won.
Omowale2023: Nobody is discrediting anything. What we are saying is we want a free and fair election devoid of rigging or manipulation of any kind
That is ideal but hardly practical.
Which is why I buttressed my point with America’s 250 year old democracy that still isn’t perfect and still receives allegations of rigging and manipulation - especially from bitter, sore losers like Trump and his mob.
We aren’t perfect yet either, but anyone that says we haven’t made progress with this election, despite the ruling party losing 10 states and improved voter accreditation with BVAS, is not being honest with himself.
Omowale2023: A house built on a faulty foundation can't stand. What we Nigerians want is an elections which is free, fair & transparent. And If Tinubu wins a free and fair election In Nigeria, we will celebrate him. But you can't say you win an elections with all these mishaps from the INEC.
The advance nations are watching us. If we want to be the best in the world and we can't conduct free elections in Nigeria, are we not deceiving ourselves? The only way Nigeria will be better is If we learn to do the right thing at the right time. And where do we start? The elections! Even my friends who are diehard Tinubu fans haven't called me till now to say I told you so that Tinubu will win, so please! Let's endeavour to do the right thing at the right time, please, let's do things right
As long as there are bitter, sore losers with a poor spirit of sportsmanship, no matter how advanced a country is, there will never be a “fair election”.
We regard the United States of America as the best model of democracy, but despite their advanced electoral system, look at the chaotic disgrace Trump and his republican hooligans caused during the insurrection in January 2021, when the mob attacked, invaded and violently took over congress because they couldn’t swallow their defeat to Biden at the 2020 election…just like what some extremist zombidients were threatening when Obi’s inevitable defeat started becoming clear to them.
Just like Obi, Trump tried desperately to discredit the election but labored in vain and had to eventually fall back, accept reality and plan for the next election.
The silent majority are watching keenly as we celebrate the new President-elect….waiting for the sore, noisy minority to bite more than they can chew.
Even if 100+ elections are held back to back, Obi in particular can not get 25% in the core north, meaning it is practically impossible for him or any other ipob apologist to ever win a Nigerian election.
caracas: You forgot to thank the only one who made it possible. The almighty INEC CHAIRMAN, the rigger of the worst election in world history the one that deliberately switched off the irev server to enable Apc governors n supporters change polling unit results…. Yes your thieefnubuuuu is riding on a stolen mandate…… The good lord is watching He would react at the appropriate time n we would be here to remind you all….
Go to court if you have any misgivings about the election.
Meanwhile pass this message to Pandora on your way.
