One thing some guys don't understand is this, coaching a national team, is a lot more dificult than coaching an age grade side, I'm not saying this to justify keshi, buh u got to realise that coaching a a senior national team full of proffesional, we will all clamour for those who command 1st team shirt in Their respective teams. Knowing fully well that they will likely be released late, manu is a good coach no doubt but he will struggle with the super eagles job beacus he would not have enough time to make the players play as he wants them to, immagine, the reason. Behind the success of most national side, is either dey have a good team in Their league which dey can draw players from or majority of Their players plays for big teams in Europe where they have two or more of Their national team mate playing together. Our national team has had mediocre players for many years. How can our senior team players not be able to control the ball once. They often need need to 3 touches before the ball is controlled. Some would control and the ball would be 3 to 5 yards away from them. After the eagles of 90s and early 2000, there was hardly any team again just a few good players. Our league does not bring out the best in people neither does it recruit the best. These boys were snapped before they could be thrown into that mincer or possibly not even noticed at all.

The truth is, they are called pass masters because they know the right pass to make. Patrick Vieira took a young Citizen Huws to watch Busquets. After the game, the boy said the team was amazing.

A pass master never passes for the sake of it. If Pirlo passes backwards, it is important. Another plauer might be in that position and decide to pass the ball and he gets intercepted.

Same with Busquets. Most times, Barca players make sure the ball gets to Busquets before they attack. If Busquets passes backwards, they do not attack. If he makes a side ways pass, they build up the game with attack directed passses. Whe Busquets passes forward, they go all out attack.

That is why they are masters of the game. Same with Luka Modric.

I'm going to disagree with you there, I live in the UK and I believe I am well educated on the subject of flooding as I am a geographer.
The UK is known for it's very disciplined drainage system so flooding is extremely rare, and I can guarantee that what I saw in that picture could never occur here in the UK; with people still wallowing in high depths of water.

The UK has quite alot of rivers(also known as drainage basins) which naturally act as basins for water that comes from precipitation and if the basins are flooded the towns or villages surrounding may flood, but in those towns themselves they would have a drainage system underground so chances of flooding are very low.

The last major 'flood' that had significant damage to the UK was in Boscatle, 2004, and even in that event no-one had died or was injured; which sane country will allow its citizens to wallow in water up to people thighs;only in Nigeria.

Anyway, I'm a huge fan of EKO ATLANTIC, I hope one day that I might relocate there.

I don't live in UK but I watch CNN and I read UK papers, there has been flooding in UK wella. The one last year Cameron was heavily criticized. You also spoke as if Lagos don't have basins and rivers. Do you know why you hardly see streams and brooks in Lagos. Omoonile has sold them and people have built on them. These places gets flooded from time to time, because the river never forgets. Then add the indesciminate dumping of refuse in drains, then you have disaster looming. We have 4 flats in my house, am the only one using PSP, all the guys prefer 'meshara', aboki that can dump the refuse anywhere.

We have suffered so much that we accept poor performance as the best in the midst of worst performance. Lagos is a strategic state with vast resources. Opebi is flooded whenever it rains, what then happens in modest slum when it rains?

Oga you said there is no basic amenity provided by the govt in those places and I mentioned the ones I have seen with my eyes. If it is enough, we should agree that it is not enough. But you also can't pull a hood over our eyes and say there is nothing there as if we don't see or use them.

I hardly go to hospitals so I don't know of them. I know there is Igando general hospital and ile-epo general hospital in the axis you are talking of. They were recently upgraded to General hospitals. Is it enough no, will Govt ever provide enough hospitals with top notch facilities no. I know a lot of people still compalin about healthcare delivery in UK and US. So even if we get to their standards we would still ask for more which is fine, its a normal human behavior.
I know he has completed and upgraded many water works even providing. Independent power for the waterworks. But connecting to the grid is a different ball game. Most people live as tenants in Lagos, and the absentee landlords are hardly bothered with such things as connecting to municipal water. I know some 20 years agowhen oyinlola did a major water project using Sakamori company. Giant water pipes were laid all around and points for tapping into the network were provided. Only 2 houses on my street. Got connected and pronto started selling the water to the rest of us. I don't even know our landlord (it was a family house, with a thousand landlords) let alone asking them to do the connectio, have they repaired the leaking roof first...lol. Water in Lagos is. Not straight-forward like that. Let those that are connected to the water networks say whether the service has improved or not, in my area we are all into boreholes.

Thank God, PHCN just brought light now after about a week of darkness. The timing is perfect for the U20. Giving me light in the dead of the Night is good for the next three weeks.

I knew how Lagos was and how it is now. Fashola's projects has been far reaching to different areas of the state. He has been everywher. So long as there are poor people existing, there would always be slums. Destroy one, new ones would be created.

@ iyana ipaja, a link road was done that goes from pleasure bus stop on the express into aboru and comes out behind the BRT lane @ iyana ipaja. Not long ago, the road from iyana ipaja all the way to iktun was expanded with walkways provided and better drainage.

@ iayana iba, there is a link road that was done that you can take to go to badagry without getting into the gridlock @ lasu. The double lane road takes off after the long bridge and leads to okokomaiko saving time, stress and money. Remember also that the isheri. Lasu expressway was recently expanded and properly rebuilt.
There is also a massive, probably the biggest so far aside from ilubirin under construction, that has been completed @ igando very close to iba.

There are also a number of link roads that was just done that takes off from the isheri-iba expressway and goes to abaranje, council all in ikotun-idimu area.

The 10 lane expressway to badagry is still ongoing, they are currently at trade-fair junction. The terrible gridlock from lasu to alakija has drastically reduced.

@ejgbo, there is a link bridge from ajao estate to ejigbo that was built, and several streets were tarred linking NNPC. The NNPC road was also done. Then the road from ejigbo linking idimu is almost completed. Massive demolition was done @ idimu, ancient ancestral homes and graveyards where relocated to allow for the expansion. Although until that isolo-ejigbo- ikotun road is done. People in that axis would never be happy. I don't know why that road has not been done. It is too important to be left in that state..

Could more be done yes, has appreciable effort been expended yes. That's my take.

If a 28 yrs old man tells you your 10 yrs old girl has been his girlfrined and they have been having consensual sex, what you say or do. Bode Thomas was born to a wealthy trader,
John Thomas in 1918. He, FRA Williams, Remi
Fani-Kayode (Father of Femi Fani-Kayode)
attended Law School in London, and they
established the first law firm in Nigeria, called
"Thomas, Williams and Kayode". The law firm
was established in Jankara, Lagos.
Bode Thomas was an excellent lawyer, but he
was also very arrogant. Because of his
education, he was made chairman of the Oyo
Divisional Council at one time, while the King of
Oyo, Alaafin Adeyemi, (the father of the current
Alaafin) was a mere member!
On Bode Thomas' first appearance in council
after being appointed chairman, all council
members stood up for him in reference, to

Bode Thomas was the Balogun of Oyo. So, when
next you drive on Bode Thomas street in
Surulere, remember that man, who cut short his
own life because of his arrogance and being
