weyreypey: based on your advice I would like to go for NGK 2460 BKR5ES Standard Spark Plugs Sorry, was involved in an inane argument elsewhere I was enjoying maybe too much. They're coppers but if that's what you want. They're N1,825 each. http://weblink.carquest.com/acl/?mfgName=NGK&partNumber=2460Will you let me upgrade you to the Autolite AP3924 Platinums at least for the same price? I can't in good conscience let you use those cooper plugs for that car. If so, shoot email to support@radautoworks.com and you'll get invoice and payment info. Don't forget it's 6-10 days. |

His car will be impounded and perhaps he may pay for the damages..may.. He had his hazards on and in most countries that's enough because who really has c caution or triangles any more? They don't even put them in cars nowadays For all we know, he went to seek help. I guess what I'm asking is had your been in the guy's shoes, what would you have done? You also haven't said a single intelligent it coherent thing about repairing cars in all your posts. Secondly, YOU'RE STILL A THIEF WITH NO ORIGINAL THOUGHT AND NOT ENOUGH SENSE TO BE ASHAMED ABOUT IT! you were given the floor to say something intelligent to help someone had a car problem and developed selective blindness Third, if you ran IB you wouldn't be on here begging for business on EIGHTEEN other people's threads. obekediamondfuto: u see, when people like u argue..... it motivates me because u have something to offer.
I brought out the abuse part cos of the sentimental non-objective argument someone posed.
I personally will not advise anyone to not to carry out due and valid service/maintenance. this is the ideal system but in reality.... idealism is only but a never ending journey.....
how many people asking for advise can comfortably maintain those cars? many peeps here save money from monthly salary..... valid maintenance is key and economical on the long term but people tend to love the short term mirage of compromise..... it's a natural thing.... that's y people would rather use shortcut than the normal longer route...... esp Nigerians....
it is very very important to point out these aspects when proffering advise.....
PS if y'all cannot cope with timely and valid maintenance..... stay off the Honda
not everyone has enough money to buy a car and maintain it properly like "Most" of us here(even tho it's all in the typing.... real life.... all na jege... na dem even manage pass)
hooooo haaaaaaa Then they shouldn't be buying a car it soon lower like I talked about in my TCO thread. Just like you should not marry wife if you can't maintain her properly |

I never imagined being a Honda user especially after having worked for Toyota for a couple of years HOWEVER... I was talked into it after being dissatisfied with Mercedes and bought an Acura RDX in 2010, loved it so much, bought a new one in 2013. Ready again for a new vehicle and guess what's leading the pack?
Oh, and in the three years my Acura has been in Nigeria, it's only needed 4 new tires and recently code went off for catalytic converter.
Say what you will but it boils down to personal preference for me between both brands. |

mrcoolautofix: Sorry to say that you sound totaly clueless, you have no previous expirience driving at night, you have not technical analyses to address this issues, you are completely off,
The first thing first, you have no information on my kind of headlamp and you just jumped into conclution that i was at fault, ,
If the car didnt park at the speed lane slop, the will be no casualties or damage to my car,
You have no previous knoledge about road sign, at this point i am sure you are not a driver, cos your daftness conclution is not illogical,
As the matter of fact road safety and police investigation came on board place a c caution at the scene to prevent more acidrnt from taking place, the person whoms car was in the middle of the road was a friend to a senior barister,
If i had colide with that car parked at the midfle of the road, the chances of me and five life suvival will be 5 %
Before i go, did you know anything about car? Driving at 80 to 90 at 8 :30pm?
Did you know anyrhing about headlamp and the best grades?
Did you know the penalty of leaving your faulty car in the middle of the speed lane without c caution placed 20 mitres distance before your car?
Have you ever by your skill or driving make a gorgement at a critical moment that either save or tale life?
If no, you have no audacity to vomit any rubish you excreted over this place,
I needed inteligent advice onnchoice to make not display of illitracy andvfoolishness Yeah, now we are really sympathetic to your case. Ever hear of defensive driving? no c caution but hazard light on,How do you not see that? YOU. HIT. THE. OTHER. CAR. FROM. THE. REAR. WHEN. IT. WAS. STATIONARY. Please don't try to blame your headlight. You were going fast, you didn't see the other car in time to compensate plain and simple. You had 5 PASSENGERS in your car and should definitely have been driving now carefully. Yes, the car was parked in the speed lane but he DID have his hazards on according to you. Would you have been able to push your car out of the speed lane alone? He did the best he could given what little we know about the circumstances. How many countries do you know that still use c caution? To answer your original question, I think you should take the L and move on. If I was one of your passengers, you'd definitely be paying me some money just sayin'. |

Car Talk › Re: To Rebuild Or To Replace? by radautoworks: 6:59am On Aug 15, 2018 |
uwemjack: So my steering rack started leaking and got worse over time, I had to be topping up the power steering fluid every other week. Searched online for a new rack and the cost of shipping it in was not encouraging so I bought a replacement "Tokunbo" in ladipo and mechanic installed it, after 2 weeks it started leaking again took it to the seller and it was replaced with another "Tokunbo" with guarantee had it installed. Now I have paid twice for labour.
Went online and procured the rebuild kit from ebay and it arrived 15 days later. so I dismantled the original rack that came with the car to replace the o-ring, seals and "borris". I could not remove one of the borris so I took it to a mechanics workshop for them to use their tools to remove it, and the chief mechanic told me that it's better to replace the whole rack than rebuild and that they can't remove it (they actually tried to remove it in my presence). Took it back home and went to YouTube and finally got the borris removed. Then I cleaned and replace everything that was in the kit and coupled back the rack. 3 weeks exactly after rebuilding the steering rack, the rack in the car started leaking! So the second Tokunbo rack lasted for roughly 2 months!
So I reinstalled the original rebuilt steering rack! And 3 years down the line the it has not leaked.
To me rebuild is better than replace, but our mechanics don't follow due process as their work area is always dirty, sand and other parts are reintroduced into the rebuilt part which contributes to their early failure. This makes me feel so validated. Thing is a lot of people in Naija would rather go through that rigamarole than just have it done in a simple manner apparently. You get what you pay for. It's either bite the bullet or death by a thousand paper cuts. |

davodyguy: I wouldn't lie. I've been doing that for about 2 years now. My thinking is that buy new, since you don't know the mileage on the tokunbo you're buying My biggest issue sometimes Amazon/eBay say a part is a fit and it is not. The sellers put the interchange info and sometimes it's wrong. If you're unlucky, what do you so with the misfit part? Recommend when you find something on those sites, go to Carquest, advance, O'Reilley or even dealer to verify the part number interchange. |
