GAZZUZZ:
its a good thing you included the pic of the exhaust.

the only reason your exhaust will break at that point is due to excessive engine movement and a missing or unbolted exhaust support bracket.

Installing another catalytic converter will be a waste of money as it will crack at same point again.

1. Material can be welded.

2. Fix engine mounts.

3. Install support bracket ( contrary to popular Kamaru belief they are useful)

First thing I thought

Thank God for the wisdom to do car inspection when I bought my car 9 years ago. Although it was a Kazeem I used, he knew what to look out for based on what his people do vehicles.
Paying for inspection is so worth it and nobody who plans to buy a car should skip it except you know your onions or buying brand new.

In other matters, I scanned a vehicle yesterday and it takes the record for the most warning lights on any vehicle I have ever scanned, most codes too. Powertrain had 4, ABS 5, SRS 5, AT was clear but even the P/S system had codes. My scanner does not assess P/S systems but the warning light was on.
Practically all warning lights were on except the low oil pressure and alternator warning lights. Vehicle had been heavily kazimized. Of course cooling fans were running direct. Guess what? Owner was talking of selling the car off. Maybe to an unsuspecting buyer who would be told "Oga the lights no mean anything".
Please, what car was this undecided

Hmm... In six months you will have a whole nother set of problems. That kind of had mileage in a sienna with Nigerian fuel is not sustainable long term. Also, keep letting your tank stay below one quarter and just save money for new fuel pump in the next fuel months.

From our point of view labor cost is the biggest chunk of Auto repair it is easier and faster to replace with used engine scrap old engine when doing diy, at mechanics shop they buy rebuilt engines so warranty is on labor and rebuilder warranty covers engine.

If you use a common model like Corolla engine can be very cheap at junk yard, wall all saw video posted by Egunmogaji of a $20 all you can carry
Exactly and labor is so cheap in Nigeria which is why it's hard to justify replacements for us since parts are available. At the end if the day, we offer customer information on both options and let them decide. Even in the USA with the high labor costs, they typically went for rebuilds with both options unless they had a 'hooptie'.

As end-user (Consumer) I have successfully said decision making depends on the options presented by the solution provider.

At least with the enlightenment and information provided here daily by Your Excellency, President Gazzuzz, Her Imperial Majesty, RadAutoWork, His Lordship, AutoElectNG and His Emirates, TheBigkendo of Honda Accord United Emirates Kingdom plus His Royal Highness, Olubadan Egun.Mogaji we are aware that there are options available.

Let me put it simply here:
We agree on asset but not on the concept of investment.
Nothing to disagree on. It's a clearly defined term. You can't have an opinion on it. Just like like you can't have an opinion on the term cold, square, happy or debt.

Does anyone have cars he feels people should not own?
My neighbor bought Volkswagen bug for sale..wait for it..4years ago..the day I saw it, i shook my head and smiled..it's been parked, waiting for a buyer ever since..some guy paid some money as part payment for it and also abandoned it..
Does anyone have a personal experience with the beetle bug? Not the old school beetle of the 60's-80's but the new bug, do share your experience..
User experience from sites like edmunds.com hasn't been great especially for the early 'new' generation..I think I will take it off my neighbors hands at a great bargain, does anyone have personal experience with the early 'new'generation?
Get it since you know about cars

Why did you use the word investment in nonprofit investment. Why nonprofit asset....

You all need to get to the philosophical underpinnings of these concepts. Which people in finance rarely do.
You do realize your own picture just supported our argument. An investment has to be expected to be MORE valuable in the future which is exactly what your definition says.. notice also it lists asset as a synonym for investment but not vice-versa grin

You're killing us making our argument for us!
