Iran becomes exporter of jet fuel A view of Abadan refinery in southwest Iran (file Photo) Thu Jan 31, 2013 6:3PM GMT Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has inaugurated a new phase of a gasoline production facility, enabling the country to join the world’s jet fuel exporters. In a Thursday ceremony marking the 34th anniversary of the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, the Iranian President inaugurated the second stage of the third phase of the gasoline production unit at Abadan Oil Refinery. The new unit will add two million liters of 94 and 95-octane super-premium gasoline, conforming to Euro-4 standard, to the daily production capacity of Abadan Refinery. The development will enhance the total gasoline production of Abadan Refinery, Iran’s oldest refinery, to 15 million liters per day (lpd). Iran is currently a leading producer of jet fuel for passenger and cargo planes. The gasoline production unit of Abadan Oil Refinery, built by Iranian experts, would allow the production of fuel for helicopters, crop dusters and trainers. Earlier, Iran had announced plans to inaugurate three mega-projects at Shazand, Lavan and Abadan refineries by the end of the current Persian calendar year (ending March 20) to enhance the production of the country’s premium gasoline from 12 to 25 million lpd. The projects will increase Iran’s total gasoline production to 70 million lpd, enabling the country to become a long-term exporter of gasoline. Iran attained self-sufficiency in fuel production after its international suppliers stopped selling gasoline under US pressure. Ahmadinejad inaugurates Iran’s biggest gasoline production plant Shazand's Imam Khomeini Refinery in the central Iranian city of Arak (file photo) Thu Mar 14, 2013 8:47AM GMT For the first time in the Middle East, Iranian experts succeeded in carrying out the process of converting diesel fuel to high-octane gasoline. Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has inaugurated the country’s biggest gasoline production hub with a production capacity of 16 million liters (ml) of petrol per day near the central city of Shazand. Production of premium gasoline will also rise from the current amount of 1.2 million liters to 3.2 million liters with the opening of Shazand Imam Khomeini Refinery. For the first time in the Middle East, Iranian experts succeeded in carrying out the process of converting diesel fuel to high-octane gasoline. Following the refinery’s inauguration, its liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) production will increase from 500 tons per day to 2,000 tons. The treatment facility produces gasoline, liquefied gas, propylene, kerosene, gas oil as well as fuel oil and tar. The refinery has been renovated through the investment of USD 3.3 billion by the National Iranian Oil Engineering and Construction Company (NIOEC). Iran attained self-sufficiency in fuel production after its international suppliers stopped selling gasoline to Tehran under US pressure. Ibnjurayj: Me saying you lack understanding is indeed understatement. No room for debating with you.Prove you're not a terrorist sympathizer/supporter. |
Ibnjurayj: Don't lie I've never tagged you a kaafir, even though you and your cohorts showed some disbeliefs, i.e disbelieving in the Beloved Messenger's hadiths peace and blessings be upon him, and your disregards to his Wife (Mother of Believers) radiya Allaahu 'anha. And the Khalifah Rashidun RA (Rightly Guided Caliphs) you make takfir (refutation) of.There is no point engaging you.you're so astray that you openly and without any shame lie in the same thread.you said we Shia are not muslims.when you say someone is not a muslim, does that not imply the person is an unbeliever? Here is the warning the moderator gave you,not to call another muslim an unbeliever: maclatunji: ^That post was modified by me. Don't another Muslim an unbeliever. If you have realized your action by calling another muslim an "unbeliever" contradicts the order of the Prophet (s),instead of denial, simply apologize and do tawba. As for abu bakr and umar, our position is very clear, understandable and based on facts: The Actual Shia Position On The Sahaba https://www.nairaland.com/822675/actual-shia-position-sahaba As for Aisha's faith or lack of it,I'd only quote a post: LagosShia: Holy Quran 43:78https://www.nairaland.com/1107764/story-sunni-imam-shia-ayatollah/4#14365046 I can see you have refused to comment on the terrorism your salafist/wahhabi brothers perpetrate against Shia Muslim civilians, and also against Christian civilians as is the case in Nigeria.your silence is implicit approval!if you refuse to condemn their act, then I'd take you as a "terrorist sympathizer/supporter" and no need to engage an enemy of human life, which Islam holds sacred, regardless of what beliefs the human being adheres to. |
Ibnjurayj: This is how you guys mislead muslims you know you can prey on with da'eef and fabricated hadith you made up among yourselves. You're calling sunni hadiths fabricated and daeef.what is the evidence for your supposition or assumption? Or its just the habit of Sunnis generally to make anything in their books,no matter how valid and authentic,"fabricated" and "daeef",as their escape route from historical/religious facts in favor of Shia Islam ? Well, you tried a bit about the definition but i expected you could do more than that with the way you were wagging your tongues. It is enough for me to have simply tell you that whoever believes in shahada-tain/kalima-tain is a muslim. Whatever you have added are details that fall under the shahadatain. As for you calling me a "kafir",may Allah judge you for that,by rewarding your fingers in the Hereafter what they deserve.and here's your reply from the holy Prophet Muhammad (s) : Abu Zarr reported that the Holy Prophet said: No man accuses another man of being a sinner, or of being a kafir, but it reflects back on him if the other is not as he called him.'' (Bukhari, Book of Ethics; Book 78, ch. 44) "Withhold [your tongues] from those who say `There is no god but Allah' --- do not call them kafir. Whoever calls a reciter of `There is no god but Allah' as a kafir, is nearer to being a kafir himself.'' (Tabarani, reported from Ibn Umar) Call not the people of your Qibla [i.e. those who face the Ka`ba in Makka for prayer] as kafir.'' (Al-Nihaya of Ibn Athir, vol. iv, p. 187) "Nothing expels a man from faith except the denial of that by which he entered into it [i.e. the Kalima].'' (Majma` az-Zawa'id, vol. i, p. 43) "Three things are the basis of faith. [One is] to withhold from one who says `There is no god but Allah' --- do not call him kafir for any sin, nor expel him from Islam for any misconduct.'' (Abu Dawud, Book of Jihad, 15:33) There are many other hadith prohibiting that the "people of the Qibla'' be dubbed as kafir. Such a great sin is it that the Holy Prophet issued the warning: "Whoever attributes kufr [unbelief] to a believer, he is like his murderer.'' (Tirmizi, ch. Iman (Faith); see Arabic-Urdu edition cited earlier, vol. ii, p. 213. See also Bukhari, Book of Ethics; Book 78, ch. 44) Now you know you have testified against yourselves by disobeying Allaah, rejecting some parts of the Qur'an, Insulting Allaah's Messenger Peace be upon him.We don't deny the Quran.we don't say Aisha was guilty of zina,as she was accused by the kuffar, and the Quran refuted.that accusation of adultery have nothing to do with our (Shia) stance on Aisha.our stance on her is based on her rejection of the Prophet's (s) orders and also disbelief in him based on the disrespect she showed to him,and what the Quran says about her and also the words recorded she uttered to the Prophet (s). We don't need to go over this again.it has already been tackled in details: https://www.nairaland.com/1107764/story-sunni-imam-shia-ayatollah Allaah also mentioned: Do not make [your] calling of the Messenger (Muhammad pbuh) among yourselves as the call of one of you to another. Already Allah knows those of you who slip away i.e (some excuse without taking the permission to leave from the Messenger pbuh,) concealed by others. So let those beware who dissent from the Prophet's order, lest fitnah strike them or a painful punishment. Qur'an 24:63You're not well. That verse was revealed because the Prophet (s) to his face was addressed by his name and loudly with words,by some of your exclusive sunni heroes among the sahaba.I hardly (except by mistake) either type the Prophet's (s) name, calling him just by his title or utter both without sending blessings on him and his household (as). Your salafist/wahhabi blackmail and takfir (calling others unbelievers),even by taking Quranic verses out of context to prove whatever satanic hatred of arabian and ummayyad jahiliyyah you harbor,is a very dangerous precedence to world peace.all the terrorism committed by those the west and non-muslims identity as muslims and use to dent the image of Islam, are wahhabis/salafists,who by all account are extremist sunnis or an/a offshoot/movement of sunni islam, who base their terror and violence and killings against muslims and non-muslims alike on Quranic verses misinterpreted or taken out of context to kill on the takfir your likes pass. You have not commented on the below threads.state your opinion and don't be shy.do you support the below killings of Shia Muslims by wahhabi/salafist terrorists, who have likewise done the same to Christian civilians?let us know you for what/who you're : Genocide Of Shia Muslims In Pakistan https://www.nairaland.com/1120418/genocide-shia-muslims-pakistan A Timeline Of Sectarian Terrorism Against Shia Muslims https://www.nairaland.com/961495/timeline-sectarian-terrorism-against-shia |

polemical/replies to sunni disputations on verse 5:55: Verse of Wilayah (5:55) : http://en.shiapen.com/comprehensive/verse-wilayah/meaning-wilayah.html |
Ibnjurayj: Since you reject the Sihah books maybe we should use the Qur'an then. You are missing the point.the informations I presented are not found (to my little knowledge) in the "sihah sittah",but are found in other sunni sources.I may be wrong, and there may be records on what I presented from other sunni sources also in the "sihah sittah". To your question, who is a muslim.a muslim is whoever believes in and worships only Allah as the only God,the Unique,Invisible,Algmighty Sustainer and Creator of the heavens and earth, and who ever testifies to the prophethood of Muhammad (as) and absolutely believe in the message he was entrusted with, enshrined in the holy Quran. |
Ibnjurayj: I decide to accommodate you still, maybe you will take heed and abandon the path of falsehoods, may Allaah guide you.Stop being a clown.its not even sunni views you're reflecting here.you're just shielding yourself. The sihah sittah are mostly collection of hadiths relating to the practice of Islam and the words of the Prophet (s) from before the death of the Prophet (s). Biographies of sahaba or historical figures are mostly found in history books of sunni scholars, which I presented. There is no belief among sunnis that what is found in your sihah sittah (6 "authentic" books of hadiths) are the only records to be accepted, and that those six books contain everything there is to be known from the past.if something is not found in those six books,it does not mean if found in other books or records, its not acceptable.in fact,in you holding on and tagging those six books as "sihah" or "authentic",it simply means you accept everything found in those books as "authentic" and "true".with time,it has come to be known that many things/hadiths found in even those 6 books are false! What is funny is the way you hold those books as "authentic" in a wholesale manner.it is as if bukhari, muslim, ibn habban, abu dawood, tirmidhi and ibn majah were prophets or infallible men,who were "all knowledgeable" and made no mistakes or sin.how can any book by any human author be considered "infallible"? To us Shia,no book is considered "authentic" or "sahih" except the word of Allah, which is the Holy Quran.every other book is to be examined word for word, and stroke for stroke.so stop parading those "sihah sittah" which were largely political will and manifestations back then,by authors on the payroll of the tyrannical sunni caliphs,or who tried to exclude every dissident view that conflicted with the status quo back then or reflected a bad image of the caliphate.this was especially the case with bukhari and muslim.so next you talk with a Shia, stop trying to give your sunni sihah sittah an angelic outlook.I don't accept them as genuine works nor are they authentic in my view.they are only useful to me in presenting Shia views in those books, you either conceal hard or turn a blind eye on,as proof upon you. If you doubt other sunni records authored by "great" scholars (by sunni standards) which I have presented to support my claims, then you have to tell us why you're rejecting your sunni evidence;or better, provide from your sihah sittah what contradict or deny my claims and the sunni records I've presented to back them up.so the ball is in your court, and that's the challenge for you. ![]() |
Ibnjurayj: I ask for daleel but you found none except those one that people you make taqleed (blind following) of fabricated. All the evidence given are from Sunni books by classical and respected scholars of Ahlus-Sunnah. |
Ibnjurayj: At the end of the day i say to you and your other raafidah (ahlul bid'ah wal hawa) that: lakum dinukum wa liyadeen (to you be your faith to me is my faith)Again,I'd turn a blind eye to your insults. But at least be patient.you asked for evidence.calling us "ahlul bidah wal hawa",with disregard to the evidence you asked for is unfair.no need to run, while you insist to blowing big words. |
Malik Ibn Ashtar (ra) “When ‘Ali returned from Siffin he had sent al Asthar back to his command over the Jazirah and had said to Qays bin Sa’d ‘Stay with me in charge of my personal guards (shurat) until we have finished this business of the arbitration (hukumah) and then do to Adharbayjan”. So Qays remained with ‘Ali over his personal guard and when the business of the arbitration was over, ‘Ali wrote to Malik b, al-Harith al-Asthar, who was at the time in Nasibin. “Now you are one of those whose help I need in making the religion (din) effective, by whom I restrain the arrogance of the sinner, and by whom I fortify the dangerous fromtier district (thagir). I have Muhammad b. Abu Bakr over Egypt, but the rebels (Khawarij) there came out aganst him and he is a raw youth with no experience of war and untested. Come to me so that we can consider what is necessary regarding that, and leave behind over your province, those of your men who are trustworthy and sincere advisors. Salutations”. Malik came ‘Ali and went in to him.’Ali told him the news about the men of Egypt and gave him the reports about them, and he said, “You are the only man for it. Set out there, may God have mercy on you. If I do not tell you what to do about it, it is because I am content with your own judgement. Ask for God’s help if anything worries you, and micx firmness with gentleness. Be mild so long as mildness is effective, but insist on firmness when you have to”. So al-Ashthar left ‘Ali, went to the place where he had left his things, and got ready to set out for Egypt. Mu’awiyah’s spies came and informed him of ‘Ali’s appointment of Al-Asthar, and that weighed haveily on him for he coveted Egypt and knew that if Al-Asthar arrived there he would be a more difficult prospect than Muhammad b. Abu Bakr. He therefore sent to al Jayastar, one of those subject to the Kharaj tax, and told him that al Asthar had been appointed over Egypt. And he said to him, “If you take care of him, I will not take any Kharaj from you as long as I live; so do what you can to outwit him”. al Jayastar then went to al Qulzum and waited there. Al Asthar left Iraq for Egypt, and when he reached al Qulzum al Jayastar met him and said, “Here is somewhere to stay and here is food and fodder. I am one of those subject to the Kharaj”. Al Asthar stayed there with him and the diqhan came with fodder and food. Then, when he had fed him, he bought him a honeyed drink into which he had mixed poison. He gave it to him to drink and when he had done so he died. Mu’awiyah proceeded to tell the Syrians, “Ali has sent Al-Asthar to Egypt – Call on God that he will suffice you against him”. So everyday they implored God against Al-Asthar, and then he who had goven him the drink came to Mu’awiyah and told him of Al-Asthar’s death. Mu’awiyah stood among the people and delivered a khutbah. He praised God and extolled Him and then said “Ali b. Abi Talib had two right hands; one of them was cut off on the day of Siffin (meaning Ammar b. Yasir) and the other today (meaning Al-Asthar)”. Aba Dharr al-Ghiffari (ra) Abar Dhar: "O Abul Aswad! According to the Prophet's advice I listened to them and accepted what they said. I still listen to them to accept what they say. By Allah, He will take revenge on Uthman for what he has done to me and he will be proved the worst sinner in my case when he reaches in the court of Allah". Umdatul Qari Sharh Sahih Bukhari, vol. 4, p. 291 Musnad Ahmad, vol. 5, p. 156 and p. 180 Sunan Abi Daud, vol. 2, p. 282 Tabaqatul Kubra Ibn Sa'd, vol. 1, p. 166 Sharh Ibn Abil Hadid, vol. 1, p. 241 Tarikh Ya'qubi, vol. 2, p. 148 Mustadrak Hakim, vol. 3, p. 343 Hulyah Abu Na'im, vol. 1, p. 162 Murujuz Zahab Mus'udi, vol. 1, p. 238 Fatahul Bari, vol. 3, p. 213 Sahih Bukhari-2.24.488- Narrated Zaid bin Wahab I passed by a place called Ar-Rabadha and by chance I met Abu Dhar and asked him, "What has brought you to this place?" He said, "I was in Sham and differed with Muawiya on the meaning of (the following verses of the Quran): 'They who hoard up gold and silver and spend them not in the way of Allah.' (9.34). Muawiya said, 'This verse is revealed regarding the people of the scriptures." I said, It was revealed regarding us and also the people of the scriptures." So we had a quarrel and Mu'awiya sent a complaint against me to 'Uthman. 'Uthman wrote to me to come to Medina, and I came to Medina. Many people came to me as if they had not seen me before. So I told this to 'Uthman who said to me, "You may depart and live nearby if you wish." That was the reason for my being here for even if an Ethiopian had been nominated as my ruler, I would have obeyed him . Bukhari-2.24.489-en-Khan- Narrated Al-Ahnaf bin Qais While I was sitting with some people from Quraish, a man with very rough hair, clothes, and appearance came and stood in front of us, greeted us and said, "Inform those who hoard wealth, that a stone will be heated in the Hell-fire and will be put on the unmentionables of their bosoms till it comes out from the bones of their shoulders and then put on the bones of their shoulders till it comes through the unmentionables of their bosoms the stone will be moving and hitting." After saying that, the person retreated and sat by the side of the pillar, I followed him and sat beside him, and I did not know who he was. I said to him, "I think the people disliked what you had said." He said, "These people do not understand anything, although my friend told me." I asked, "Who is your friend?" He said, "The Prophet said (to me), 'O Abu Dhar! Do you see the mountain of Uhud?' And on that I (Abu Dhar) started looking towards the sun to judge how much remained of the day as I thought that Allah's Apostle wanted to send me to do something for him and I said, 'Yes!' He said, 'I do not love to have gold equal to the mountain of Uhud unless I spend it all (in Allah's cause) except three Dinars (pounds). These people do not understand and collect worldly wealth. No, by Allah, Neither I ask them for worldly benefits nor am I in need of their religious advice till I meet Allah, The Honorable, The Majestic." ' We read in Tabaqat and Istiab as follows: Ibrahim bin Malik al-Ashtar has narrated from his father that when Abu Zar’s death approached, his wife started to cry, at which he inquired about her weeping, to which she replied that she couldn’t arrange his funeral, and she didn’t have any sufficient piece of cloth to use as shroud for him. To this Abu Zar asked her not to cry and said that he had heard the Holy Prophet [saww] that one from amongst his companions would die in the desert and a group of believers would come to him, and I know that I am that person, because its me that lives in the desert. By Allah! Neither did I lie, nor was I lied to, therefore keep observing and wait. She asked how that could be possible when the pilgrim caravans had passed. She, then would hike a mount and watch the path and return to look after her husband. She then saw a group who were moving very fast on their riding animals. She waved a cloth at them, which they noticed and came to inquire about it. She said that a believer was dying and she didn’t have cloth for his shroud. When asked she told then that it was Abu Zar, to which they replied, may their parents be sacrificed on him…. An Ansari youth came forward and offered a shroud saying it was from the clothes that he wore and was in his bag. He agreed and allowed him to shroud him. He said that the Ansari shrouded him and all the others in the group also came to him. The group also included Hujr bin al-Adbar and Malik bin Ashtar. They were all Cypriots. Hujr Ibn Adi (ra) Salafi scholar Hasan bin Farhan al-Maliki who on page 170 of his book ‘Qeraah fi Kutub al-Aqaed’ said: إذ لجأ بنو أمية إلى الفتك بمحبي أهل البيت وإذلالهم. فقتلوا حجر بن عدي صبراً في عهد معاوية لأنه أنكر سب علي على المنابر “The Bani Umaya killed and humiliated the lovers of Ahlulbayt (i.e. the Shia) , and ruthlessly killed Hujr bin Adi during Mu’awyia’s reign on account of his criticism of their act of cursing Ali from the pulpits” Tarikh ibn Asakir, Volume 12 page 227 Dhikr Hujr ibn Adi “Ayesha said: ‘Mu’awiya you killed Hujr and his associates, By Allah! The Prophet told me ‘In the ditch of Adra seven men will be killed, due to this all the skies and Allah will be upset”. al Isaba, Volume 1 page 313 Dhikr Hujr ibn Adi After the battle of Qudsiya Hujr ibn Adi participated in Jamal and Sifeen, alongside Ali and was amongst his Shi’a. He was killed upon the orders of Mu’awiya in a village called Mriaj Adra near Damascus. At the time of his execution he requested: ‘Do not remove these chains after I am killed, nor clean the blood. We will meet again with Mu’awiya and I shall petition my case against him’. al Bidaya wa al Nihaya, Volume 8 page 53 Dhikr 51 Hijri When the time of death approached Mu’awiya, he said to himself thrice: ‘Hujr bin Adi! The day of answering for your murder is very lengthy’ Hujr Ibn Adi (ra) was a pious sahabi (companion) “Hujr was amongst the virtuous Sahaba” Istiab, Volume 1 page 97 – Hujr bin Adi al-Kindi Ibn Atheer in ‘Asad ul Ghaba’ counts Hujr amongst the great Sahaba: “He was amongst the virtuous Sahaba” Asadul Ghaba fi Ma’rafat Sahabah, Volume 1 page 244 Imam Hakim in ‘al-Mustadrak’ created a chapter called: “Manaqib Hujr bin Adi (ra) wa wahu rahib Asahab Muhammad” i.e. “Merits of Hujr bin Adi (May Allah be pleased with him) and he is one of the companions of Prophet (s)”. Mustadrak Hakim, Volume 3 page 468 Ibn Asakir recorded that Hujr bin Adi (ra) met Holy Prophet (s) and Ibn Kathir echoed the same in his book ‘Al–Bidayah wal Nihayah’ Volume 8 page 55 . He records: “Ibn Asakir has recorded that Hujr came to Holy Prophet (s) and he heard (hadith) from Ali, Ammar, Sharajeel bin Marat and he is known as Sharjeel bin Marat” Similarly while talking about Hujr bin Adi (ra), Hanafi scholar Kamaluddin Umar ibn al-Adeem (586-660 H/1191-1262) records in ‘Bughyat al-Talib fi Tarikh Halab’ Volume 2 page 298: “He was among the people of Kufa, he came to Prophet (s) as a delegate and narrated from Ali bin abi Talib” Likewise Imam Ibn Qutayba Dinwari (213-276 H) records in his famed work ‘Al-Maarif’ page 76: “He came to the Prophet (s) as a delegate and converted to Islam, he attended the battle of al-Qadsiya, he attended the battles of Jamal and Sifeen with Ali then Mu’awiyah killed him in Adra along with his group” While recording about the miracles possessed by the companions of Holy Prophet (s), Shafiyee scholar Allamah Hibatullah Lalkai (d. 418 H) records in his authority work ‘Sharh Usool Etiqad Ahl Sunnah’ Volume 7 page 18: “What have been narrated from the miracles of Hujr bin Adi or Qais bin Makshooh who are the companions of Prophet (s)” If still there remains any doubt in Nasibi minds, then let us complete the story by citing the words of the beloved scholar of the Nawasib, Imam Dhahabi who while recording details of Hujr bin Adi stated: “He had companionship and he was a delegate” Siyar alam an Nubla, Volume 3 page 463 |
Ibnjurayj: I know you know nothing apart from debating, where is your daleel (evidence) about what you qouted aboveMasha'Allah brother. So you're telling us you want evidence because you don't even know those companions? No problem.I will give you evidence for each.I'd turn a blind eye to your insults. |
LagosShia: PS:Furthermore to add to the above, here are other companions and righteous men killed by Muawiya (whom the Sunnis say after calling his name: "may Allah be pleased with him" ) - 1.) Amr Ibn Hamiq 2.) Muhammad Ibn Abu Bakr 3.) Malik Ibn Ashtar 4.) Two sons of Ubaidullah Ibn Abbass,a cousin of the Prophet (s) who was serving as governor of Yemen under Imam Ali (as). 5.) Abdul-Rahman Ibn Hassan, who was buried alive for refusing to talk ill of Imam Ali (as). There is also Aba Dharr (ra) who was tortured and banished by Usthman (another Sunni hero),third Sunni caliph and cousin of Muawiya. Habib Ibn Muzahir al-Asadi and Zuhair Ibn Qayn (ra),were both companions of Prophet Muhammad (sa),who were of the Shia that stood to defend Imam Hussain (as) in Karbala, and were martyred by the forces of Yazid,Muawiya's son. And some people still have the blind gut to generalize that it is the Shia that slander "the companions".they know too well who they are referring to as "the companions" are the few men they prefer to use to generalize as "the companions".sunnis accusing the shia of "slander" against "the companions" is a false flag! |
the Complaints After the Expedition of Yemen, the Prophet's (s) Immediate Response,His Later Action (Ghadir Khum) ,And the Meaning of "Mawla" (please pay attention to highlighted below). The last argument in the strategy of the Sunni polemicists in their response to an event or a hadíth presented by the Shí'as is to give it an interpretation that would safeguard their beliefs. They exploit the fact that the word "mawla" has various meanings: master, lord, slave, benefactor, beneficiery, protector, patron, client, friend, charge, neighbour, guest, partner, son, uncle, cousin, nephew, son-in-law, leader, follower. The Sunnis say that the word "mawla" uttered by the Prophet in Ghadir does not mean "master or lord", it means "friend". On the issue of the hadíth of Ghadír, this is the stage where the Western scholarship of Islam has arrived. While explaining the context of the statement uttered by the Prophet in Ghadir Khumm, L. Veccia Vaglieri follows the Sunni interpretation. She writes: On this point, Ibn Kathír shows himself yet again to be percipient historian: he connects the affair of Ghadir Khumm with episodes which took place during the expedition to the Yemen, which was led by 'Ali in 10/631-2, and which had returned to Mecca just in time to meet the Prophet there during his Farewell Pilgrimage. 'Ali had been very strict in the sharing out of the booty and his behaviour had aroused protests; doubt was cast on his rectitude, he was reproached with avarice and accused of misuse of authority. Thus it is quite possible that, in order to put an end to all these accusations, Muhammad wished to demonstrate publicly his esteem and love for 'Ali. Ibn Kathir must have arrived at the same conclusion, for he does not forget to add that the Prophet's words put an end to the murmuring against Ali.[54] Whenever a word has more than one meaning, it is indeed a common practice to look at the context of the statement and the event to understand the intent of the speaker. Ibn Kathir and other Sunni writers have connected the event of Ghadir Khumm to the incident of the expedition to Yemen. But why go so far back to understand the meaning of "mawla", why not look at the whole sermon that the Prophet gave at Ghadir Khumm itself? Isn't it a common practice to look at the immediate context of the statement, rather than look at remote events, in time and space? When we look at the immediate context of the statement uttered by the Holy Prophet in Ghadir Khumm, we find the following: 1. The question that the Prophet asked just before the declaration. He asked, "Do I not have more authority upon you (awla bi kum) than you have yourselves?" When the people replied, "Yes, surely," then the Prophet declared: "Whosoever's mawla am I, this 'Ali is his mawla." Surely the word "mawla", in this context, has the same meaning as the word "awla: have more authority".[55] 2. After the declaration, the Prophet uttered the following prayer: "O Allãh! Love him who loves 'Ali, and be enemy of the enemy of 'Ali; help him who helps 'Ali, and forsake him who forsakes 'Ali." This prayer itself shows that 'Ali, on that day, was being entrusted with a position that would make some people his enemies and that he would need supporters in carrying out his responsibilities. This could not be anything but the position of the mawla in the sense of ruler, master and lord. Are helpers ever needed to carry on a 'friendship'? 3. The statement of the Prophet in Ghadir that: "It seems imminent that I will be called away (by Allãh) and I will answer the call." It was clear that the Prophet was making arrangements for the leadership of the Muslims after his death. 4. The companions of the Prophet congratulated 'Ali by addressing him as "Amirul Mumineen - Leader of the Believers". This leaves no room for doubt concerning the meaning of mawla. 5.The occasion, place and time. Imagine the Prophet breaking his journey in mid-day and detaining nearly one hundred thousand travellers under the burning sun of the Arabian desert, making them sit in a thorny place on the burning sand, and making a pulpit of camel saddles, and then imagine him delivering a long sermon and at the end of all those preparations, he comes out with an announcement that "Whosoever considers me a friend, 'Ali is also his friend!" Why? Because some (not all the hundred thousand people who had gathered there) were upset with 'Ali in the way he handled the distribution of the booty among his companions on the expedition to Yemen! Isn't that a ridiculous thought? Another way of finding the meaning in which the Prophet used the word "mawla" for 'Ali is to see how the people in Ghadir Khumm understood it. Did they take the word "mawla" in the sense of "friend" or in the meaning of "master, leader"? Hassãn ibn Thãbit, the famous poet of the Prophet, composed a poem on the event of Ghadir Khumm on the same day. He says: He then said to him: "Stand up, O 'Ali, for I am pleased to make you Imam & Guide after me. In this line, Hassãn ibn Thãbit has understood the term "mawla" in the meaning of "Imam and Guide" which clearly proves that the Prophet was talking about his successor, and that he was not introducing 'Ali as a "friend" but as a "leader". Even the words of 'Umar ibn al-Khattãb are interesting. He congratulated Imam 'Ali in these words: "Congratulations, O son of Abu Tãlib, this morning you became mawla of every believing man and woman."[56] If "mawla" meant "friend" then why the congratulations? Was 'Ali an 'enemy' of all believing men and women before the day of Ghadir? These immediate contexts make it very clear that the Prophet was talking about a comprehensive authority that 'Ali has over the Muslims comparable to his own authority over them. They prove that the meaning of the term "mawla" in hadíth of Ghadír is not "friend" but "master, patron, lord, or leader".[57] Finally, even if we accept that the Prophet uttered the words "Whomsoever's mawla I am, this 'Ali is his mawla" in relation to the incident of the expedition to Yemen, even then "mawla" would not mean "friend". The reports of the expedition, in Sunni sources, say that 'Ali had reserved for himself the best part of the booty that had come under the Muslims' control. This caused some resentment among those who were under his command. On meeting the Prophet, one of them complained that since the booty was the property of the Muslims, 'Ali had no right to keep that item for himself. The Prophet was silent; then the second person came with the same complaint. The Prophet did not respond again. Then the third person came with the same complaint. That is when the Prophet became angry and said, "What do you want with 'Ali? He indeed is the waliy after me."[58] What does this statement prove? It says that just as the Prophet, according to verse 33:6, had more right (awla) over the lives and properties of the believers, similarly, 'Ali as the waliy, had more right over the lives and properties of the believers. The Prophet clearly puts 'Ali on the highest levels of authority (wilãyat) after the Prophet himself. That is why the author of al-Jãmi'u 's-Saghír comments, "This is indeed the highest praise for 'Ali." http://www.al-islam.org/wilayat/4.htm |

There is really no need for argument or confusion regarding verse 5:55.if our Sunni brothers says the word "mawla" means "friend",then fine we can (in order not to argue) accept it means "friend".then let us talk common sense to see the extent of this involuntary and imposed "friendship" by an holder of absolute authority.Allah has made all believers "friends" and even "brothers",as per the verse "believers are brothers".does that mean that believers must obey themselves, not disagree and accept everything from one another? Certainly not, because believers can err.it is our sense of belong to islam that unite us and make us "mawla"/friends to one another.nothing of authority, but affinity. But in verse 5:55,Allah singled out one man (Imam Amirul-mu'mineen Ali) and said: Certainly Allah, the Prophet and Imam Amirul-Mu'mineen Ali (as) are the mawla of all believers.if a believer decides to anger Allah, can he still claim to be a "friend" of Allah"? Certainly not! In fact that person must seek repentance.if you anger,go against the wishes and disobey someone who Allah has specifically made a "friend" (as per Sunni interpretation) of all believers from the time that verse 5:55 was revealed till the day of resurrection, are you disobeying Allah's word in the Quran or not? A very important point is the Quran is an everlasting book for believers at all times, till resurrection.therefore the so called "friendship" of Imam Ali (as) is also eternal for all believers to observe till qiyama.we can understand that people living at the time of Imam Ali (as) can be "friends" with him.but how can a believer living at this age and time apply verse 5:55 if "mawla" means simple "friendship" that can only be observed with the person if the person is alive? Therefore, this is an "enforced" and "authoritative friendship" as per the speaker who is Almighty Allah;just like in every age and time a believer must observe the prophethood of Muhammed (s),so also must the wilayah/imamate of Ali (as) and his successors (i.e. believing in the imamate/wilayah of the 12 Imams of Prophet Muhammed's Ahlul-Bayt be observed).! So no one can displease the wishes of Imam Ali (as),anger him or disobey him because that will contradict the holy Quran,in verse 5:55.we saw when people complained about Imam Ali (as) after an expedition to Yemen;the Prophet (s) rejected their complains and told them:"don't you know he is the mawla of every believer"? therefore we can only say this "friendship" goes along with "authority" and "obdience/leadership" just as we understand the word "mawla" for Allah (swt). Let me give an example.if President Jonathan is the absolute ruler of a place (as Allah (swt) is far more absolute and the most absolute ruler),and said Mr. X is the "friend" of you all.is that a command that carried authority or not? Yes it does.so if anyone goes against Mr. X and Mr. X takes malice or anger, can President Jonathan punish the violator of his command or not? So therefore when people (Sunnis) want to define and limit/restrict the word "mawla" to ordinary padi padi (friendship),let them be.then ask them if this friendship carries the weight of command and demands obedience or not? Can you limit Allah being your "mawla" to ordinary "friend"? so this "mawla" position is the same as that of Allah and the Prophet (saw) upon every believer, till resurrection, and for as long as we read verse 5:55 in the holy Quran.the speaker here is Allah and the Prophet (s). Another example was when the Prophet (s) declared in the Event of Ghadir Khumm: "of whom I am his mawla Ali is his mawla".another statement that carries force, authority and command upon every believer till thy kingdom come! It shows a believer who knows what it means by referring to the Prophet (s) as his "mawla" must apply the same measure of "mawla" to Imam Ali (as).you can't choose to or stop being the "friend" of the Prophet (saw).you have no choice because this mawla carries authority and superiority,as the Quran says: "the Prophet is superior to the believers than themselves".you cannot also restrict the mawla position of the Prophet (s) to just being a simple friend.when a high mawla says another person is equally a mawla to you as himself, then you give that other person the same position and respect as to the former.when someone of that position (the Prophet) uses the word "mawla",to say if he is your "mawla" another person (Imam Ali),is your mawla, then you're commanded, placed under the authority of another person and you must be obedient to that person as you're to the main holder of authority, which the Prophet (saw).this applies to everyone who claims to be a follower of the holy Prophet Muhammed (saw).if you cannot render the Prophet (s) just an ordinary friend/mawla like the position of believers to one another, then you cannot render the one individual singled out by both Allah in the Quran, and the Prophet (s) at Ghadir Khumm,to be a mawla any less than the position of mawla, Allah and His Prophet (s) are.in Ghadir Khumm,it is like a president telling his people that of whom I am president Mr. X is also his president.mawla position of the Prophet (s) carries both friendship and "presidential authority" at the same time.and then someone people (Sunnis) say its only and strictly "ordinary friendship".what logic is that? Who told you? How did you know? "Mawla" have many meanings? Yes we know, and that's why we are explaining which meaning to choose.but you Sunni can't explain under any logic your choice, other than "the word have many meanings". I refuse to believe that the mawla position of Allah and the Prophet can be restricted upon the believers to just mean simple "friendship".and I am a Shia of Ali (as) and Muslim insha'Allah!!! |

Iran's IRGC cyber-warriors take control of foreign spy drone Sat Feb 23, 2013 9:42PM The IRGC also captured a US-built ScanEagle drone after it intruded into Iranian airspace in December 2012. Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has successfully taken control of a foreign reconnaissance drone on the first day of the Payambar-e Azam 8 (The Great Prophet 8 ) war games, which are being held in the southeastern province of Kerman. The spokesman of the war games, Brigadier General Hamid Sarkheili, told reporters late on Saturday that the spy aircraft was detected in a location outside the area of the military exercise and then the IRGC forces took control of the drone’s guidance system. He stated that all the movements of foreign drones and their communications transmissions -- either inside or outside the immediate area where the Payambar-e Azam 8 war games are underway -- are being monitored, and as a result, the IRGC detected the foreign spy drone. The IRGC Ground Force started the Payambar-e Azam 8 exercise, which includes practice maneuvers of various defense tactics, in southeastern Iran on Saturday. Special modern warfare units conducted drills, asymmetric warfare tactics were practiced, and various types of unmanned aerial vehicles were tested on the first day of the war games. A report published in the Wall Street Journal on December 2, 2012 quoted US officials as saying that Washington has stepped up its spying operations on the Bushehr nuclear plant in southern Iran "over the past two months." The report said the surveillance of the Iranian nuclear facility was being "conducted in part with the Pentagon's fleet of drones operating over the Persian Gulf." On December 4, 2012, the IRGC Navy commander, Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi, said his forces had captured a US ScanEagle drone over the waters of the Persian Gulf after it intruded into Iranian airspace. In December 2011, the Iranian military took control of a US RQ-170 Sentinel stealth aircraft while it was flying over the Iranian city of Kashmar, some 225 kilometers (140 miles) from the Afghan border. The US RQ-170 Sentinel stealth aircraft was forced to land with minimal damage by the Iranian Army's electronic warfare unit. The aircraft is one of the United States' most advanced spy drones. before ignorant people who dont know the difference between often pro-western salafist/wahhabi (Sunni) terror groups like alqaeda and boko haram, and Shia Islamic Iran, comment, and talk nonsense out of Christian fanaticism, sheer ignorance or pro-western stance, take a look at the posts in the below thread where the topic on the arrested "suspects" was discussed: https://www.nairaland.com/1202489/iranian-sponsored-terrorists-planned-kill-ibb/4#14420108 |
vedaxcool: It seems the Iranians are getting quite sloppy or some unseen hand is playing a deadly game, not helping the situation is the fact that Iran is globally recognized as leading sponsor of terrorism to the extent of sponsoring al qaeda etc!I hope you're not falling for propaganda of the West.BetaThing made some good points in the thread on this topic in the political section (find the link in the OP). If I may ask how is Iran a sponsor of terrorism? Is it by sending weapons to Palestinian and Lebanon resistance groups to free their land from israeli occupation and zionist state terrorism? Or is it by Ayatollah Khomeini in Qom gathering Khums money to send to the Palestinian people so they could survive and defend themselves? Which terrorism has Iran sponsored? Where exactly did Iran sponsor alqaeda? Please state.note that in 1997 Iran almost went to war with the Taliban in Afghanistan, which was playing host to bin laden. It is the americans who engineered alqaeda and supported bin laden in afghanistan. In 2013,the West is supporting alqaeda in Syria against the Syrian regime, and fighting alqaeda in Mali after the same West armed alqaeda fighters against Qaddafi in neighboring Libya. The fact that the men confessed to this acts or claims of being spies for Iran! Nigeria have to wake up eventually from it's slumber and put its act together if not we will be played as fools by every fool in this world! The men did not confess.in the Vanguard report, the spokeswoman for the SSS claimed they confessed, while in the same report it is stated that the main suspect denied the charge. The fact is this is as a result of a power tussle in the A C N in Kwara between politicians.the SSS have relations and is influenced by the mossad as obvious in their statements and handling.the media too is influenced by the israelis.else what does the israeli ambassador have to do by visiting media houses in Lagos,if not to either bribe them or influence them to be pro-israel? Israel is abusing Nigeria's sovereignty and wants to place its grip on Nigeria (as it did in Sudan that recently got divided).our institutions in Nigeria should not fall prey to the israelis.its a risky path to take in a country like Nigeria, where religion and ethnicity are volatile issues. |
maclatunji: Funny comment. Any country that has an embassy in Nigeria has interests in Nigeria, that includes some degree of spying to protect its interests within and outside Nigeria. Its a smear campaign, first by the A-C-N politicians, who singled out their fellow Yoruba who is a rival politician and made the accusation against him simply for being Shia.then,on the larger scale the SSS and the media with israeli design took it to another level,to smear Iran and cause fitna (discord) among Muslims. You can think by yourself why would the iranians need a few Shia Yoruba individuals to spy for them or plan attacks that don't make actual sense? If the iranians wanted to do such a thing,it would have been more credible and give benefit to the doubt if those arrested are Shia Hausas.Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky and his Islamic Movement in Nigeria-a Shia Muslim organization- don't hide their links to the Iranian clerical establishment (religious-wise) and (political wise to) the Wilayat al-Faqih (rule of the Islamic jurist) in Iran led by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamanei.the Islamic Movement in Nigeria have millions of supporters, mostly hausas, throughout nigeria and particularly in the north.go to their website, you will see them parade pictures in their occasions and gatherings of Ayatollah Khomeini,Ayatollah Khamanei and even Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah (head of Hezbollah in Lebanon).google "islamic movement of nigeria".they don't hide or shy away from their friendly relations with iran. It is so obvious these Yoruba Shia Muslims were picked as scape goat because the same cannot be done to the Islamic Movement members without a battle (legally,in the press and possibly otherwise).it is unfair how these Yoruba individuals were picked and a burden placed on them. |
beejaay: and i aslo know the the men are guilty based on the info they released during their confession (now who is right and who is wrong?). hope you could see your ignorance?Read the newspaper report.the spokesperson for the sss was contradicted.she claimed that the suspect confessed, while in the same report the newspaper stated that the suspect refused the allegation. You don't have to imagine things in order to swallow anything.deal with the facts. |
BetaThings: SO why was Nigeria made a transit pointAsk the captain of the ship.I don't know.may be refuelling. Your hausa brother is unjustly imprisoned in ikoyi as we speak.he was persuaded just to confess that he worked for iran to smuggle the weapons into nigeria, and he would be released.he refused to do that and make a false accusation on the iranians.so he is still in prison.it is a dangerous phenomenon that anyone who is shia is suspected to be working for iran.it is unfair and also misleading. Tell us then about the Hezbollah in Lebanon. Did the commander of Iranian Republican Guard (Rafiqdoust) not admit Hezbollah carried out the Beirut Bombing on the US Embassy in 1983?Shatap there! You've left the Islam section to come here to spread sectarian hatred. It wasn't Hezbollah that carried out the beirut embassy bombing.check wikipedia for quick reference.a group that was calling itself "jihad islam" made up of Sunni palestinians in lebanon and Shia lebanese who later joined Hezbollah carried out the attack.besides, the US then was an occupation force in lebanon, having a marines base in beirut and many spies in the US embassy, who were interfering and taking side in the lebanon civil war.same with the french. You were sounding as someone fair minded by doubting this current case.once you sensed Shia posters, your Wahhabi nerve ticked.my message to you is to put whatever hatred you have aside.this is a very sad development.it shows to what extent the nigerian media and SSS are infiltrated by the israeli intelligence.they are trying to kill two birds with one stone.they want to tarnish iran's image and also set sunnis against shia in nigeria by saying the sultan was target. The entire issue started in ilorin in a power struggle within A-C-N among yoruba politicians.one of them is shia.to screw him, they reported him to the sss and made him an "iranian spy".the sss and the israeli have taken it to another level entirely. |
beejaay: @op why is everything a propaganda once it doesnt suit you. instead of asking for a thorough investigation, u are already preempting the outcome and making up your mind. going by this your argument then everyone is innocent and the charges against them are also propaganda. it is people like you that make shield terrorist cos they are seeing as being part of you. You're talking absolute nonsense. I'm not defending their innocence here or the lack of it.I know the men are innocent based on info from someone who knows the A-C-N politician and the genesis of the issue. Whether the suspects are innocent or not is another story.the fact is this story has already been milked by both the SSS and mossad to tarnish the image of Iran and Shia Muslims.you should tell Vanguard, the SSS and other israeli mercenaries to have waited for "thorough investigation" before spreading the story. Whoever is receiving bribe from the israelis to lead Nigeria and Nigerians into murky waters will fail. |
