zoomzu:

Naialanders,

My system restart itself authomatically, please what do I do to restore it.

So many thing could cause this. Start up the computer and enter the BIOS.
Leave the computer on for a while and see if it stays on. If it does, then we're sure all necessary hardware is okay.
Get to the advance start up page as described above, start up in safe mode. If u can log in as an administrator,
Type in "services.msc" at the run dialogue and disable start up items leaving the most necessary then restart in normal mode and trace services that are set to restart the system when ther's service failure.

Dual Core:

if i were u, i'll slave my hdd and get all the important contents out of ma OS partition, then format. but i ain't u anyway, because i can't imagine forget my passwords or access codes grin

I think u should slave a hard drive again with another computer running Windows 98/2000/XP/Vista, navigate to "Documents and Settings" and try to gain access into the password protected user name's Desktop.
It is impossible on a Windows OS.

Neoteny:

you didnt specify the kind of system. and which passwor screen? windows logon or BIOS? if the former, format. if the latter, discharge the cmos by switching jumper setting on the mainboard (a rubber tip set on 2 of four pins) or if its a lappy remove the cmos battery, wait for a long while then replace it and cross your fingers.

Not every computer user will be willing to open their systems to work with hardware.
Although, taking out the BIOS batt. on a Laptop/CPU will take care of the BIOS password.
But note, that u loose all Boot settings, dates and stuff configured from the BIOS.

stevoddy:

Hi folks,

Please is there any way I can use to get my system restored or get it on? Why I'm asking this is because I forgot the password I used for my system and I'm trying to put it on but I cannot bypass the password screen.

Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for your anticipated response

Next time, you should post proper description of problems your facing. Although, I guess it's the Winlogon screen your stuck on. What u should do is start up your computer in Safe mode by repeatedly tapping the F8 key on top of your keyboard. Login as the Administrator (I hope an Admin Pass wasnt set), and fire up a command prompt window by typing "cmd" in the run box. Type in NET USER. That will least all users on the computer, your user name will show up. If the username is "Ralph" type in "Net User Ralph hot" to set the password as "hot" or whteva.

If there's an admin pass. u will need a boot CD.
Try the above first of all.

That worked for me on WIndows XP.
I am using Windows Vista and I tried it, but I get an error message saying, access denied.
So I doubt it will work on Windows Vista.

Computers / Search And Download .mp3 Files Using Google! by Ralvy(m): 12:24pm On Dec 28, 2007
Yes! It’s possible to search the Internet for .mp3 files to download using Google.
I’m use to downloading all my music files from esnips, but they suddenly removed the download button due to server overload, I mean – the server was loaded to the hilt.

I tried this out and it has been fun as I have been downloading some new songs, although – trying to download some Nigerian songs was a head ace, so when it comes to that! I fall back on my faithful LimeWire . Although, some popular Nigerian Jams could be found tho.

There’s a special keyword we use to download these files, now lets do a test!

Type “ ?intitle:index.of? mp3 *** ” into the search box on Google without quotes and replace *** with the music key word, e.g. ?intitle:index.of? mp3 Mocking Bird Eminem, and a list of links to servers with the song pop up and you can choose to download from any of the listed sites, although, u may have to visit few of ‘em.

You can replace the .mp3 with .avi, .gif, .mp4, .pdf depending on what you're searching for.

Good Luck! smiley cheesy

Computers / Fix Corrupt Images by Ralvy(m): 4:47pm On Dec 27, 2007
I can bet a $100 dollars that as an advance Computer User, some of ur images get corrupt.
When you try to open them, you get an error saying "No Preview Available". Like it is displayed on the image below.

That sure means that the image is corrupt. Some time ago, Hayprof on this forum sent me an image through an Instant messenger and when I got it - I noticed it was corrupt. It may be caused by Bad sectors on your hard drive. It also happens when you recover deleted images from your computer, memory stick or Digital Camera.

Out of curiosity, I decided to find an end solution to this problem.

After much searching, it didn't seem like there were many tools or tips and tricks to repair a corrupted image file. There's only one software I found called PixRecovery which is data recovery program for damaged images. It supports GIF, TIFF and JPEG formats. It is sort of like a picture repair utility.

Sorry its shareware, but there is a crack for it which I intend to search for and upload for you!

Meanwhile, you can download the software here . .
Its just 900KB. Remeber its a demo

Computers / Recover Photos Accidentally Deleted From Digital Camera. by Ralvy(m): 4:33pm On Dec 27, 2007
I have a very silly sister shocked , I took some pics on Christmas day, I had great intentions to upload the pictures on hi5, and Nigeriancommunityforum to share with friends, but the nasty chic got rid of everything. I was mad at her, but being the person that I am grin - I thought of a way to recover deleted images from my Sony Memory Stick, and yes I found a way! cheesy wink

The First thing you should do is Stop taking pictures with the Digital Camera as that will ruin your chances of recovering the Pictures. Then download the software provided at the end of this Topic.

Although, If you Google for a way to retrieve pictures, you will find so many softwares, but most of them are sharewares,
PC Inspector is a great software that can help you handle the Job.

In some cases, you may need a Card Reader!

Download it Here
