You are absolutely right, it is kinda psychological too. If growing up you were never allowed to express yourself, people always shut you down when you try to speak, one will most likely grow up to be like the OP has described. If one grows up amongst teenage older brothers, you will find yourself in such a situation, since they are also passing through a stage of life where they want to always show dominance and independence.

OP, It is good you are able to identify your problem, it means you already know what you can do to help yourself. If not, what you can try to do is interact with people more, do not feel pressure to contribute in discussions, contribute when you are absolutely sure you need to, it will remove some pressure from you. Some of the anger the OP feels come from not being able to express himself properly, he feels he will be judged.

Speak up more when someone offends you. I know how hard that can be, but do it bit by bit. Do not try to do that when you are angry else you might stutter and look stupid, or not come up with reasonable points why you are pissed, walk away come back then have a discussion with whomever you are upset with.

There is nothing terrible really wrong with you OP, let someone you are close to know how you feel, someone you can trust, a sibling or parent, friends can use it against you when your relationship falls apart. If you have a friend you absolutely trust, you can speak to them to help support you. This is the most important step, it will help you think of this person when you start getting angry, and you will easily calm down.

From what you described you might also have a problem speaking in public, that goes with age and practice, you are at the prime of your life now and something like this can be a big hindrance to your career, do small practice with small groups and then scale up, don't start too big it will be overwhelming to handle, even professionals have issues with big crowds.

Overall you just need to practice those things you find difficult, trust me the anger will die down, people will find you more interesting and you will become a happier person.

I don't like what saffi posted earlier that lead to this whole show of passports, but I must say that she completely won all the arguments arising from your claims about her background and lifestyle. As a matter of fact, she owes nobody any explanation about her lifestyle for her opinions to be considered relevant. She made her point known if you don't agree with it what you can do is to state your reasons why you oppose, there was absolutely no need for all these long discussions you guys have had, it has only succeeded in moving the centre of attention from the topic. As far as I concerned the scoreline is 50 to 0 for Saffi.

I still don't agree with what you said saffi.

wow... Several paragraphs of undiluted waffling.

You don't get the point, do you? There are basically only two real issues here...

1) Is it okay to spend extravagantly on a lady one isn't even in a relationship with? According to the OP, he is a "To be boyfriend", and after he stated his stance, she said she doesn't think they can be in a relationship.

2) Is a lady entitled to a part of a man's salary as pocket money because they are dating? This is the part that gets the most backlash. You said you found her matter-of-fact entitlement annoying, yet went ahead to explain how it is a natural expectation that women have of their man. So what exactly makes her entitlement annoying to you? The fact that you wouldn't say it outright?

I found it interesting that you noted you would not want to spend your money to do stuff for your partner. He has to give you money from time to time, for you to spend money on him.

It is known that many ladies are tightfisted with their money. So what would encourage a man's natural inclination of good will? Why shouldn't guys who spend on these ladies (that only receive and never give) feel stupid too?

Women from time immemorial were relegated to domestic duties in our part of the world. Many used to think (many still do) that women are incapable of any logical thought or of managing positions of leadership. Does the fact that many have thought so for long justify it?

You are viewing the world with colored lens, and expect others using colored lens too to have the same color as yours.
You are a really smart person. I like minds like yours, you are literally the only person who was able to pick up all the sub-issues in the story. Well done.

CrimeEl-rufai Imposes 24-hour Curfew On Kaduna As 55 People gets Killed by Ramos16(op): 7:12am On Oct 22, 2018
Kaduna State Government has imposed a 24-hour curfew on Kaduna town and environs with immediate effect.

The Senior Special Assistant to the state governor on Media and Publicity, Mr. Samuel Aruwan, stated this on Sunday in Kaduna.

Meanwhile, the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Idris, has deployed the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 7, Taiwo Lakanu, to lead a Police intervention force to Kaduna to ensure that normalcy returns to the area.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that 55 people were killed on Thursday, October 18 during a crisis at Kasuwan Magani in Kajuru Local Government Area of the state.

NAN also reports that a similar crisis in February left more than 10 people dead in Kasuwan Magani, while 65 suspects involved in the crisis were arraigned in court but the case is still ongoing.

Acting DCP Jimoh Moshood, the Force Public Relations Officer, disclosed this while addressing newsmen on the violence on Sunday in Abuja.

He said that the policemen deployed included four Police Mobile Force units, Counter Terrorism Unit, conventional policemen, Federal Special Anti Robbery Squad, Intellegence Response Team and Technical Intelligence, among others.

Moshood said that the operations would cover the entire Kasuwan Magani and its environs and other flash spots in the state.

“The intervention force will be working in cooperation with the Kaduna State Police Command to ensure that peace and normalcy return to the area.

“To achieve success, the Force will be proactive and strict in the enforcement of its mandate, Police standard operations procedures and rules of engagement,” he said.

He said that the Force would carry out a 24-hour surveillance and patrol, maintain stop-and-search, and continuous raid of identified criminal hideouts and black spots.

The spokesman said that the operation would cover communities, towns, villages, vulnerable points, government and private infrastructure.

He enjoined traditional rulers, religious leaders, politicians, parents and guardians to support the Police in the discharge of their responsibilities.

Moshood said that 22 suspects directly involved in violence have been arrested and are in Police custody assisting the Police in the investigation.

The spokesman said that some prominent personalities kidnapped during the violence have also been rescued and reunited with their families.

So true, I am no exception, I believe same will happen to people living in Nigeria who adapt the work life, imagine getting home by 6PM, 90% of the time you will be too tired to go to the gym, depending on your job anyways. You have dinner, you sleep, the circle continues the next day. In Nigeria it is less likely you to lead to obesity because, 1) Most guys who don't drive get to walk to and from the bus station. 2) You get access to good and healthy Nigerian food. Believe it or not, Nigerian food is actually very very healthy compared to what is obtainable here, off course the only thing I believe that surpasses it is salad, and we as Nigerians can't eat like rabbits to save our life. Most food in western/middle east world consist of a large amount of meat, cheese, sugar or milk, so it is unsurprising that we, Nigerians, tend to gain weight when we move.

I cannot help but envy my sister's guy for been blessed with such a beauty and brain, always thinking of the future and most times prevents her guy from unnecessary spending and she was the standard I used in selecting my own babe and I would say I am luckier, as Babe is business oriented and taken risks I am scared of taking and they are 23 and 22 respectively..
Respect to these wonderful personalities..
Note: Babe is last born of family of 11 children, she witnessed mistakes of elderly ones and the consequences which makes her take necessary steps... And they are not hoes or passing through any 'hoe-phase' as they are still Virgins and they will not give in anytime soon..
LOL, I laugh at people who say I know my sister, and even worst I know my girlfriend/babe, dude you know nothing trust me. girls will be girls, boys will be boys, if they do not want you to know you will never know. Na lie! A hoe is a hoe, it has nothing to do with age.
Not accurate, girls at this age would naturally want the best for themselves, so if one fine guy comes with a good car proposing even marriage, they would think "well, if I can get this guy I think I can get better, let me try the next". It will come off as them "hoeing" around, but it is just natural selection.

Lol..were you expecting me to give the cliche Nigerian wife "pray that God touches his heart" advice?

I say it again! She has to leave if it gets to that point. From the write up above, her husband is outright disrespectful and obviously doesn't care about her needs and wants. Imagine telling her to stay and take care of the children so that nothing happens to them since she knows she's not fertile. How insensitive!

OP apologise to him again(if you need to because this is an issue of trust and is quite sensitive too) but tell him squarely that you are not quitting your job. Also give him some more time. If he's not budging , you know what to do.
you are obviously not married and probably very young, if you think this is how life works then you are in big for a surprise..... They both have their issues, but leaving her job is a small sacrifice she might want to make compared to the big risk she had placed the family. I am not asking her to leave her job, I am asking her to do what she thinks is best for her family, I am sure as hell that is not leaving the marriage. The OP knows what she has to do, she just wants validation from others.
