There are so many people on this thread now that do not know the nature of the people of Ekpan community in Delta State. What you are reading is what the young ones (students) copied from their elders. People from this community hardly travel. This is a community where you will see a man of 45 yrs who has never travelled out of Ekpan since he was born? How do you expect such person to behave properly? They like to fight and kill themselves; majority are criminals! There's always one communal clash or the other everyday. Ask around, nobody even wants to rent a 2 bed room flat for as low as 5k per month in Ekpan. Last Warning: If you stay in this community, leave their girls alone or else they kill you. If you are progressing in business, pack out of the community or else, they'll start to envy you; they might end up burning your shop! Fvck Newton! Fvck Baro!! Fvck Ekpan!!! |

All Northern leaders, including governors, senators, House of rep members and ministers, put together, are bunch of disappointment!!! The South East WILL NEVER, and I repeat, WILL NEVER cede any of their ancestral land for grazing by some bunch of rams in human form!!! If other regions want to do that, it is their business. Let the herdsmen graze their cattle in their land! Quote me negatively and see what happens to you!!! |

benji93: like someone earlier commented, you pointed out some problems, though that was educative, you should have suggested solutions and alternatives, for every case, that would have brought your edification to a logical conclusion. Now, i find one of your corrections weird: 'I am asking of Funmilayo', in the use of the preposition 'of' in this case, it is usually in this form'' asking something of somebody', ''asking after funmilayo'' should be the most appropriate grammatical correction for the blunder, other variations include asking about and asking for, but asking after should be the most appropriate, since asking for, could mean you need that person to do a job for you, asking about, could mean that the subject does not know the object, asking after indicates the subject knows the object. . I stand to be corrected. No one is a repository of knowledge. If you go through the second page of the thread, you will see where I corrected that. I mean the issue of 'asking after' and 'asking of'. I clearly stated it that it was a typo error! Thanks all the same. |

Some of you just like rushing into conclusion without understanding!!! Didn't you check the context in which the word was used? You just revealed how quick you are to conclude without doing a thorough ground work...you were trying to gain unnecessary recognition so that peeps here would say you have done well! darqly: This is not entirely correct, and this sort of example is precisely why Nigerian graduates are largely unemployable. The Indians I have encountered in reputable firms do speak decent English language, though heavily accented. Don't kid yourself with that victim mentality of 'English is not my mother tongue', or you will stay long and frustrated in the Nigerian unemployment market. I'm still waiting to hear of that Nigerian firm that conducts recruitment interviews in pidgin or vernacular May God bless you!!! That's why Nigerian youths are still behind when it comes to science and technology, including innovations. The rate of this 'I don't care' attitude in our youths is just too high!!! |
