bolayei: Are governors allowed to sack local government chairmen? Isn't it same as a president sacking a governor? Only in Nigeria will a governor attempt to sack a king instead of the governor to report to the king. In Nigeria King's report to local government chairmen. Thank God none of my kids are born in Nigeria. Military rule is better than what we have now You know nothing about government. Let me educate you a little. Don't worry, I won't charge you anything. It's free. Nigeria is a republic. This is not a kingdom and we are not practising monarchical system of government. So don't expect a governor to report to a traditional king. It's the other way round as specified by the constitution which created the republican system of government we operate. I hope you learn from this. |

Do people bother to check things
The crisis affects the north more, they kill their own people more than Christians
I'm not a Muslim but Christians over do things
False alarm and panic everywhere, see south west that nothing happens to talking about regional Police, how many people died in South West? Look at the case well and u will see that the vigilante group is a tribal affair, benue that has suffered alot aren't even talking about policing, it's Lagos with only 5 deaths If you don't have anything meaningful to say, just shut your mouth fast and hide those fingers of yours!!! |

Atiku can now open his mouth to talk on this issue also. Same thing he and his Oga never did for all the wasted and years of looting they were in power. The era when the most popular song in Nigeria was Nigeria jagajaga!
A period that a sitting vice president has the company that import the largest numbers of generators in different shapes and sizes, How will they ever want us to have electricity? Why won't they want us to remain in perpetual darkness!
A nation that the same vice president and the sitting president both floated 2 private universities for themselves while the Federal and State universities were on endless strikes! universities that they are still operating up till this present day! There was a nation! If only our Democracy started with a Man like Our darling Daddy, President Muhammadu Buhari......If and only If!
Supporters of evil and corrupt politicians you can now start quoting... You have the floor now.............
Don't mind these criminals. They are nothing but hypocrites. One step ahead we are! No to corruption in our land again. Stale and boring. |
Politics › The Invasion Of Letugbene Community: A Revenge In Futility by Rapmoney(op): 6:01pm On Jan 19, 2020 |
The Invasion Of Letugbene Community
On Friday, 17th day of January, 2020, soldiers invaded Letugbene Community in Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State. That was not the first time such attacks on innocent citizens would be recorded in this country as we have also witnessed such cases in past administrations.
Without being economical with the truth, I fear for a society where citizens are chased away from their communities, killed and their houses burnt down because some hoodlums attacked and killed military personnel. In a sane environment, it should be the duty of security agents to forestall activities which breed insecurity and when security protocols are broken, which results to damages, chaos or lose of lives, be it from the military community or the civilian community, it is still the duty of same security agencies to go after anyone who breaches the peace of the land and make sure they are brought to book. In a situation where people who are saddled with the responsibility of protecting the territorial integrity of the country now turn around to cause havoc in the lives of innocent people of same territory they claim to protect is as worse as evil and should be condemned by every right thinking human. It is even pertinent to note that the said hoodlums might not be from Letugbene Community!
It is shocking to know that in these modern times, in fact, at this stage of existence, cases like what happened in Letugbene Community still occur in our society and the government of the day does nothing to save the situation.
There is this agreement between the state and the people, where the people surrender some of their rights to the state, and the state provides welfare, SECURITY, etc for the people in return. It is the foundation of good governance. It is what Thomas Hobbes, John Locke and Jean-Jacques Rousseau called 'The Social Contract'. This same Social Contract has been breached and rubbed on the mud countless times by Nigerian governments, both past and present.
It is very surprising that when such unnecessary attacks against civilian communities by security personnel occur, the government looks the other way.
In 1988, Pieter Willem Botha (1916 - 2006), one time prime minister of South Africa, made a statement which was considered a racist one in many quarters when he said that 'Black people do not have the brain and mental capacity to govern a society...give them guns, they will kill themselves...'. In as much as Botha's assertion could be seen as racist, I strongly believe that what we witness in our society frequently are things that continue to make it difficult to prove Willem Botha wrong!
There are ways to handle crime and bring criminals to the law; committing crime in revenge cannot be one of the ways. This barbaric act needs to stop! This is a modern society and not some Amazon forest!

Kennedyiheme: why do you ladies always say men who reject marriage are not matured or are small boys.??.. you don't think its normal for men to reject the marriage union?.. wakeup.. sensible men are waking up... nobody wants to deal with a womans problems... you just cant accept the fact that men aren't rolling over heels for women anymore... why should i suffer for a vagina with alot of body counts that its now loose as hell.. please keep it, if you say there are some men out ther willing to marry, why are alot of women single... you better face the reality, you might be single forever Young man, you are very wrong. I don't know your age but from your thread, I don't think you have gathered enough experience in life to gain emotional maturity. The reason why many ladies are still single has nothing to do with the mindset of men of your kind. The main reason is tied to the fact that many young men are not financially placed to furnish the cost of marriage and family upkeep. Don't conclude on issues just because someone woke up one day and decided to write some stuff without taking cognisance of prevailing societal factors. |
