you can see the position of the fundamentalist muslim positing that gej is a pain in the ars.e of terrorist like alqaeda and BH.very sad but true
That was funny grin, however if I'm a terrorist and worship the Lord of Hosts, then that makes you a terrorist as well.

Going by your logic, you and Jonathan want the same thing, which makes you an murderous incompetent dweeb (no harm intended, just logic).

Additionally, If President Jonathan had not politicised the army, we wouldn't have any reservations. However in a situation where the army claims it is too busy fighting BH to protect citizens, and then the next morning we hear they are camped in front of opposition member's houses, then this shows favouritism which rubbishes the credibility of the elections even before the first vote is cast.

Allow the military concentrate on its constitutional duties instead, we need to crush the insurgents.

This is because none of the two principle Presidential candidates has come to discuss the four cardinal issues so fundamental to the interest of Ndigbo. These are security for Ndigbo and their properties during and after the election particularly in the North; the callous neglect of Igbo territory since the end of the civil war; reparation for atrocities committed against Ndigbo over the years and during the civil war; and implementation of the recommendations of the Justice Oputa panel.
Actually General Buhari has met with several stakeholders and discussed the neglect suffered by the Igbo nation.

The President was right to have send the Finance Minister and this is the most popular procedure around the world.

Moreover, no constitutional provision was breached. According to Section 80 to section 84 of the CFRN (Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria), it provides that “the president shall cause (the budget) to be prepared and laid.”
Do you realise the implication of the President appointing her as Coordinating Minister? He effectively transfers his powers to her as she supervises other ministries(except petroleum for obvious reasons).

This is the first minister in Nigeria's history to play the roles of the President.

Lagos, Ogun, Osun declared holidays and yet Ogun has 40% collections. Human interference is a challenge. You get to INEC in Oshodi local government for example and you said my name is Okechukwu Chukwudi, the staff pretends to look for it for a while and come back to say "sorry your card is not here, check Ajao Estate or come back later or fill this incident form". While you are still there, another came and said my name is Kasali Ayorinde, Morufu Ganiyu, or Babatunde Tinubu and within seconds they all have their PVC. Somebody somewhere is frustrating the collection. Or what do you say about the Rivers PVC allegedly diverted to Gombe or Taraba?
If anyone is alleging sabotage, Nigerians know in which direction to look. Afterall the only confirmed case is of a PDP Chieftain in Edo state who was caught with 500 PVC's just yesterday. I also hope you realise that any diverted PVC is useless as only the owner can be accredited by the card reader.

thunder74:
Inec caused the problem, there is no equity in the distribution of PVC. If you were PDP and you observed that your strong base has been technically or scientifically rigged out, you will do the same thing.
Kindly explain what you mean by that allegation. Governors and community leaders in areas with low collection should encourage their citizens to go and queue for their cards. Northern Governors have been declaring public holidays in their respective states, which has enabled the voters to not bother about missing their work or businesses and focus on collection. Southern authorities can borrow a leaf, and stop playing victim.

PoliticsRe: PDP Sues INEC Over Voters Register by Rawani(op): 5:27am On Feb 19, 2015
Why is the PDP so terrified of PVC's?

The PVC's and updated voters register must be used for the March 28 elections, especially as Prof. Jega revealed to the Senate yesterday that over 4 million people registered with multiple temporary voters cards (TVC) in 2011, and are on the same voters register that Jonathan's cronies are begging the court to force INEC to use.

So much for Jonathan's electoral reforms. We need change.

President Jonathan Cronies Secretly File 5 More Cases To Stop Buhari and INEC, Totaling 10

One of the latest cases was filed directly by the Attorney General of Plateau State and 28 others, seeking an order of the Federal High Court to prevent INEC from using the electoral register recently updated using Personal Voter Cards. The suit, titled Plateau State Government & 28 others V INEC, wants the commission to use the same voter register that was used in 2011.

The number of cases filed by President Goodluck Jonathan aiming to abort the 2015 election has increased to 10, according to SaharaReporters investigations.

Of this number, three are targeted at stopping the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from conducting the elections.

Plateau State Governor, Jonah Jang, is President Jonathan’s Man Friday who heads the President’s faction of the Nigeria Governors Forum.

Other cases were filed by:

Selekaye Victor Ben, and targets the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress party, Muhammad Buhari and the Nigerian Army. Filed on February 11, the case seeks an order of the court to strip Buhari of all military entitlements and another order that would put Buhari under arrest.

“Presidential View and Endorsement Platform”, led by one Barrister Smart Iheazor, combines both Buhari and INEC. It contends that Buhari’s name on the West African School Certificate certificate recently released by his school in Katsina is different from his current name.

Sergin Onuka Ibe, accusing Buhari of filing a false deposition with INEC; he seeks an order barring INEC and the APC from fielding Buhari as candidate in the 2015 election.

An unspecified litigant, who accuses Buhari of being in possession of a false party card in which he claims to be a “civil servant”.

Barrister Friday Ojealaro, claiming that Buhari is not clear and unambiguous, and should be disqualified;

Shield Jones Ufot V Buhari, filing a criminal complaint against Buhari before a Magistrate court in Abuja

Chukwunweike Okafor, against Buhari, APC and INEC, arguing that Buhari be disqualified and APC name struck out from partaking in the general election.

“Society for Advancement And Protection of Public Rights”, which asks the court to disallow the use of card readers and nullify the ongoing continuous voter registration; and

Philip Agbese against INEC, seeking postponement of the the elections until PVCs are provided to all registered voters.

SaharaReporters has further learnt that these cases were mostly assigned to one Justice Adeniyi Ademola at the Federal High Court in Abuja. It is unclear why all the cases have been handed to one judge, but Justice Ademola is believed to be working hand in hand with President Jonathan to spring a surprise.

Justice Gabriel Kolawole of the same court had earlier received some of the cases but our sources said the President’s men wrote a petition against him.

The most puzzling is actually the budget presentation in the hallowed chambers. Jonathan must have been terrified of facing any questions about the budget, especially as he would have been required to address the House, who would have picked many holes in his pre-written speech.

Any wonder why our budget is so skewed, unbalanced and seems to be primarily focused on funding the President's lifestyle?

This explains why the FG ordered all Immigration and Customs officers to be withdrawn from our porous borders. Does anyone need any further proof that Jonathan and the PDP are behind BH? Now that their plan for ING has been revealed, they have resorted to scaremongering.

What is wrong with Jonathan? Threatening Nigerians with Dokubo from the south and Shekau from the north. We must all resist this affront on our liberties and insist on a credible, free and fair election on March 28, with voters accredited by the card reader. We must also insist that the military sticks to its constitutional responsibilities and stays out of the elections.

We must cause this change to happen.

Really Barca? I have been silently studying this thread with bated breaths hoping that this purported objective pedestal you have decided to construct at the eleventh hour is not a guise for capitulation, without prejudice to your inalienable right to opinion.

However if you sincerely hold the views you expressed, I admonish you to re-analyse the facts in the context of recent events and permutations, as well as the peculiarities of our situation and by reading between the lines; not on idealistic utopian constitutional provisions that have consistently been meandered through by this same government that you are suddenly and haphazardly willing to trust.

The realities have been thankfully outlined by sincerenigerian early enough on this thread, and again I re-emphasize that you take a hard look on your present position in that light.

If the reality is that you have chosen to camp with the oppressors, then I believe you view that it is in your own best interests to do so, and I wish you the best, as my own present position is in my, and Nigeria's best interest.

Though the abuse of the "almajiri system" is contributory it does so within a 10 percentile spread.
Op elucidated why the almajiri system came to being, its elimination while leaving the system that created it intact will merely be an exercise in rebranding.

I would like to see a system where educated men from the region through an NGO type setting reach out to these rural poor with incentives much better that the mallams use to entice them into "almajiri".

I would like to see a system where the powers of the Emir (or who ever lords) over the rural poor is severely curtailed so that both cultural and financial impediment are somewhat alleviated.

Its is only the educated from the region that can successfully do these as " outsiders" are viewed with suspicion.
Quite potent recommendations, thank you.
