PoliticsRe: "Declaring Me Wanted Are The Last Kicks Of A Dying Horse" - Nyako Blasts GEJ by Rawani(op): 4:59am On Feb 05, 2015
egift:
If the former Governor has stolen, I support his prosecution. Jonathan is even more corrupt than Nyako.

"Jonathan is performing is last acts, no more straws to cling on" - Nyako

"Buhari is the next President and Jonathan knows it" - OBJ

"Jonathan is like a madman with a lighter in a filling Station" - Sule Lamido

Change is here to stay. Get ready your PVC. Vote APC. Sai Buhari/Osinbajo
Jonathan is in a good position to earn the title of the most corrupt president in Nigerian history - $20b NNPC funds; N30 Trillion missing; then another N8 Trillion; Shepopo's N3 billion among others. I feel pity for him when Buhari takes the helm.
PoliticsRe: "Declaring Me Wanted Are The Last Kicks Of A Dying Horse" - Nyako Blasts GEJ by Rawani(op):
Jonathan and Nyako are both corrupt thieves and should sort their differences out when they meet in Kirikiri later this year courtesy of General Buhari. Who do they both think they're fooling?

I still found Nyako's profound comment pretty epic:

"If you are wanted by a rouge system, it means you are a good person. Has this government gone after anybody that is bad? They only run after the good people and allow the bad people to roam around them, live happily and enjoy whatever bad things they are doing."

Nyako blasts EFCC, Jonathan, says declaring him wanted “last kicks of a dying horse"

The embattled former Governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako, on Wednesday blasted the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission [EFCC] for declaring him and his son wanted.

The former governor described the anti-graft agency’s latest ambush on him as the last kicks of a dying horse, saying President Goodluck Jonathan, will soon be kicked out of office.
Mr. Nyako who spoke to PREMIUM TIMES through his media assistant, Ahmed Sajoh, also noted that the Jonathan administration is intimidated by the soaring support he (Nyako) has continued to get even after he left office.

“I am not aware of being declared wanted. But that is good,” Mr. Nyako said.
“If you are wanted by a rouge system, it means you are a good person. Has this government gone after anybody that is bad? They only run after the good people and allow the bad people to roam around them, live happily and enjoy whatever bad things they are doing.”

Mr. Nyako said he is not surprised at the latest action of the EFCC and noted that many more Nigerians will be declared wanted by the government.
He argued that the government is being intimidated by the mammoth crowd that turned out for the All Progressives Congress, APC, rally in Yola, the Adamawa State capital.
According to him, the Jonathan government is afraid that even when he (Nyako) was no longer in office, the people of Adamawa State still love and support him.

He drew attention to how the crowd went wild with dancing when one of the songs eulogising the former governor was played at the APC rally in Yola, saying no amount of blackmail can stop the people from loving Mr. Nyako.
“When the time comes for them to be declared wanted nobody will sympathise with them,” he concluded.
PREMIUM TIMES has broken the story of how the former Adamawa governor was declared wanted by the EFCC.
Also wanted by the anti graft body is the son of the ex-governor, Abdul Aziz Murtala Nyako, a retired Naval officer.

Both are wanted in a case of criminal conspiracy, stealing, abuse of office and money laundering.
The EFCC had in June 2014, shortly before the former governor was impeached, frozen the bank accounts belonging to Adamawa in what it then called a precautionary measure to safeguard the state treasury amidst evidence of looting uncovered by its operatives.
The commission had alleged massive looting of the treasury by top officials of Adamawa State government under Mr. Nyako, a development that, at the time, led to the arrest and questioning of key officials, including then Secretary to the State Government, the then State Commissioner for Finance, the then Commissioner for Higher Education, the then Accountant General of the State and the then Permanent Secretary, Ministry for Local Government.

The EFCC said at the time that its investigation was triggered by petitions alleging massive looting of the treasury by the governor and his cronies through an illegal department called Special Programme and Project Units, SPPU, which engaged in over invoicing and inflation of contract.
“In the course of investigation, a critical analysis of the Joint State/Local Government account reveals massive cash withdrawals,” a source at the commission had told PREMIUM TIMES at the time.
The EFCC official accused the then Permanent Secretary of Local Governments of making cash withdrawals of over N2 billion in 181 different transactions, scattered in tranches of N3 million, N4 million, N8 million and N9 million per transaction from the State/Local Government account domiciled with First Bank between 29th of August 2011 and 2012.

He also allegedly made similar cash withdrawals amounting to over N500 million between March 6, 2008, and March 4, 2011, from another Joint account domiciled in Keystone Bank, the source added.
“Other officials of the ministry who allegedly looted the Joint Account include Justina Jari, a Principal Accountant with the ministry who made cash withdrawals to the tune of N600 million from the Joint Account between October, 2009 and February, 2011.
“Another staff of the ministry, Abdulhakeem Mohammed was also alleged to have withdrawn about N3 billion from the account between February 2007 and May 2011. Two other staff, Mercy Wanje and Jumai Salihu were also said to have made withdrawals of N1 billion and N160 million from the account respectively,” the source said.

“On a single day, another staff called Haruna Hamali, a principal store officer made a cash withdrawal of over N70 million from the same account,” he said.
“The withdrawals were made and the money returned to top officials of the state government as narrated and confirmed by the officials who made the withdrawals.
“The state officials were arrested in connection with the withdrawals and other ongoing investigations,” the source said at the time.

PoliticsRe: Group Reports Asari Dokubo, Others To ICC by Rawani(op): 4:17am On Feb 05, 2015
A stitch in time saves nine. It's unfortunate that these terrorists have succeeded in leaving a indelible stain on the first minority presidency, which Nigerians will never forget.

Jonathan is gradually being unmasked as a selfish vampire who condones threats of bloodletting by his brothers, and doesn't care for the lives that would be lost in all parts of this country which he is paid to protect, as far as he gets to keep his presidency.

PoliticsGroup Reports Asari Dokubo, Others To ICC by Rawani(op): 4:17am On Feb 05, 2015
Group reports Asari Dokubo, other Niger Delta militants to ICC

The Human and Environmental Development Agenda, HEDA, a nongovernmental organization, has reported Mujahid Dokubo-Asari and his Niger Delta kinsmen to the International Criminal Court, ICC, over their inciting statements ahead of the February general elections.

In a letter dated February 3, and addressed to Amie Bensouda of the Office of the Prosecutor, ICC, HEDA stated that the comments credited to Mr. Dokubo and other Niger Delta militants were “akin to preparation for crimes against humanity”.
“Madam Prosecutor, to avoid a repeat of the Kenyan experience, where evidence to prosecute alleged sponsors of post-election violence could not be sufficiently mobilized, your office is hereby implored to broaden your monitoring engagement to cover pre-election utterances, actions, inactions and postulations from January 2014,” HEDA stated in the letter signed by Firdaws Ibrahim, Communication Officer, HEDA.

“Political gladiators have set the template for developments leading to the heated electoral process. Several politicians, public office holders and their supporters have embarked on hate campaigns, open threat of violence and even act tantamount to genocide.”

Two weeks ago, prominent Niger Delta militants met in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, and threatened to unleash violence on the country and take back the region’s oil should President Goodluck Jonathan lose re-election.

“For every Goliath, God created a David. For every Pharaoh, there is a Moses. We are going to war. Everyone of you should go and fortify yourself,” Mr. Dokubo-Asari, leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force, said at the gathering.
The militants were reacting to attacks on Mr. Jonathan and his campaign team during his rallies in the north.

Also, last November, Ibrahim Shema, the Katsina State governor, was caught on tape prodding his supporters to kill the opposition.
On January 14, the presidential candidates and their political parties signed a peace pact in Abuja, under the supervision of Kofi Annan, former United Nations Secretary General, and Emeka Anyaoku, former Commonwealth Secretary General.
Despite the peace accord, political campaigns across the country have continued to be characterized by hate speech, character assassination, religious and ethnic incitement and, physical attacks on campaign convoys.

The ICC on Tuesday warned that it would not take lightly the outbreak of violence during the general elections and vowed to prosecute persons or groups caught inciting or perpetrating acts of violence in the run-up or after election.
In the letter titled ‘Analysis of Security Situation in Nigeria,’ HEDA pledged to assist the ICC to ensure that sponsors and promoters of election violence are brought to book.

“Past experience have shown the government and by extension the ruling class as unwilling and incapable of bringing an end to politically induced violence or at the least, bring perpetrators of violence to book,” the group said.
“The April 16, 2011 Presidential election was greeted with an orgy of violence that took the world by surprise. It led to the death of over 800 persons in northern Nigeria. The victims were killed in three days of rioting in 12 northern states of Nigeria.

“In response to the mass killings, Nigerian Government on May 11, 2011 appointed a 22-member panel to investigate the causes and extent of the violence.
“In its report, submitted to the President on October 10, 2011, the panel indicted the government of contributing to the violence by failing to implement reports of past commissions and panels on ethno-religious and political crises which has contributed to the 2011 post-election violence and, urged the government to implement the reports.

“More than three years without implementation, even after a white paper was issued on the report, it is obvious the report has gone the way of those before it.
“The government has not only failed to implement recommendations of the Panel, the identified perpetrators of the violence are still freely working streets and, possibly emboldened by government’s inaction to unleash a higher degree of violence, if not favoured by outcomes of the 2015 election.”

If Jonathan and his cronies are not guilty, why not allow an investigation to silence the Prof? I expect the APC members in the house to apply pressure on this issue, and if not addressed immediately, this should be made a campaign issue ASAP.

As for the young Nigerians here defending corruption for their selfish political interests - he who sows the wind, will reap a whirlwind.

INEC envisaged this and declared today that all PVC's are ready for collection, and 63% of the cards have already been distributed to Nigerians. Doesn't Jonathan have any shame? Gen. Buhari has clearly psychologically defeated GEJ, we await the electoral victory of our dear General in 11 days.

P.S - I expect all those who doubt Sahara Reporters' investigative journalism to bury their heads in shame, they have clearly been vindicated.

For the first time I support the Sultan. Why would an entire country be told their votes wouldn't matter, and their families risk death if Jonathan is not returned even if he clearly loses, which is most likely? I expect ALL Nigerians to demand a retraction and apology from the Islamic terrorist named Asari Dokubo.

@bolded is my major reason for disliking him. He deliberately did that to put the lives of Igbos on the line instead of his Bayelsa people.
Goodluck is a very cunning and deceitful man, its so unfortunate they seem to have swallowed his 'wayo' hook, line and sinker. His deceit seems to have come to a head with Sambo's anti-christian diatribe at the Jigawa rally where he admonished the crowd to not vote for GMB/PYO because Osibanjo 'owns' 5,000 churches and therefore plan to promote christianity, while spreading propaganda in the south that the same GMB/PYO are plotting to islamize the country.

Rawani, I agree with you! I've spoken to over 1,000 persons across states in the 6 geo-political regions and across different strata of society- low-level, mid-level, and upper-level income classes and 98% are going to vote Buhari! Most persons believe that the President had failed woefully on issues like security, corruption, disposable income, real leadership, tribalism/nepotism, and an unfortunate division of Nigeria along tribe and religion.
I supported Goodluck in 2011, however his abysmal performance in security, the assassination of Azazi for revealing the PDP's involvement in Boko Haram, and his penchant for divisive ethno-religious politics were the first few reasons that triggered my resolve to work towards ensuring the incompetent doofus is returned to Otuoke in May, come hell or high-water.

Nigerians have been fooled for too long, Buhari will win this election by a landslide, and Goodluck will be forced to face his own people who he admitted he has done practically nothing for in his 6 years at the helm.

PoliticsRe: GEJ Losing A Poll Carried Out By His Aide by Rawani: 8:00pm On Feb 01, 2015
Not surprised. With every personal attack, the PDP is indirectly campaigning for the APC as Nigerians are not so gullible to not see that it is the abject lack of substance to campaign with that is the reason for the attacks, thereby earning the people's General sympathetic support.

Conduct one million polls and the result will remain the same: Nigerians are thirsty for change!
PoliticsRe: Boko Haram Decimated On All Fronts By MJTF Troops by Rawani: 6:22am On Feb 01, 2015
Great news, this will boost the morale of our troops and rescue the country from the lack of strategic tactical leadership from Abuja, since operations are planned to be co-ordinated from Chad.

Hopefully by May 29 this year, Nigerians will celebrate the swearing in of a new government led by a dedicated and well trained General that will redeem Nigeria's image and restore its respect on the continent as the most lethal military ground force south of the Sahara.

Enough of the senseless killings.

There are about 18 presidential candidates and some of them are from yoruba land and I wonder why tinubu and his gang choose to support buhari over their own brothers.
You're comparing apples and oranges, while APG shamelessly adopted the candidate of a different party, Gen. Buhari's party (CPC) merged with Tinubu's party (ACN) to form the APC. Are you suggesting it is wrong for a party member to support his party's candidate because of ethnic differences?
PoliticsRe: Picture Of APGA Campain Poster Carrying Photo Of GEJ. by Rawani:
What a shame, one would expect a SE party to field it's candidate for Presidency or in this case where such is non-existent, to support Chief Chekwas Okorie who hails from the same region that APGA claims to promote. While everyone has an inalienable right to choice and opinion in this context, this adoption does not support the ideology of the party's founder (Ojukwu) which is to promote Ndigbo's interest at all cost.

When the SE eventually chooses to clamour for the No. 1 seat, Nigerians should not be blamed for assuming they have taken their turn with GEJ, a turn characterised by failure, impunity and incompetence.
