khanivorous: Hermlock grove werewolves were scary as hell especially during transformationWhat's your opinion on Hemlock Grove. Been thinking of watching it, but I don't know... a few guys on twitter said the Show sucked. What do you think? |
Guykhena: Then why does it look so 80s like,,I mean early 21st century 'CGI' is/was the hit.To be able to generate well constructed and realistic CGI, you need an highly skilled team, and they cost money... lots of it. Not everyone can afford the "early 21st century CGI", you know? It's not something you can conjure up by simply snapping your puny fingers. -Complicated sets of codes spread between team of 5 to 10 must be written. -Expensive rigs must be constructed to be used in the scenes shooting. -Cinematography must be top notch. -Choreography must be first class, etc All the above cost money obviously, and only big movie studios can be able to afford it. Universal, 20th century fox and Warner Bros to name a few. That's where Ginger Snaps franchise comes in. John Fawcett (Writer and Director) had a vision, an idea. Instead of hawking the idea to the big boys for a big pay day, he decided to do the movie himself. There were sacrifices to be made of course cuz, he's no money bag apparently, but they made do with what they had. The finished product: One of the best Werewolf themed Movies of all times. "Ginger Snaps Part 1" made the top 10 cut on Imdb's top rated werewolf movies of the last decade. Rubbing shoulders with the likes of the much more expensive "Underworld: Rise of the Lycans." Ain't that something... ![]() |
Guykhena: Let me guess,its an 80s movie right?Nope. From 2000-2004. |
Guykhena: WtfThe budget of Ginger Snaps is not nearly as much as Underworld's, so don't expect jaw dropping visuals. But what it lacks in Visuals, it more than makes up in the artistry. You only need to see 'em to know what I meant. The team that produced and directed Ginger Snaps on modest budget are obviously more talented than those of Underworld's, whom with all their techs and CGIs, couldn't make their well constructed werewolves scary. Those screenshots didn't do the franchise justice, believe me. All you need to do is to watch 'em, most especially "Ginger Snap Unleashed", then you'll be back with testimonies. |
Ginger Snaps Screenshots.

There's nothing really scary about Underworld franchise Werewolves, tbh. To begin with, they are not scary or hideous to look at. If anything they're cute. Any time I see them on screen, my mind always wander to the Alaskan grizzly bears I watch on NatGeo. Why? They look like grizzlies, and grizzlies are one the the cutest looking predators around. If you want to know the true feeling of dread and how a werewolf is supposed to look like, then I strongly urge you to watch all the Ginger Snap Movies starting from Ginger Snap to Ginger Snaps Unleashed. "Silver Bullet" werewolf is also pretty hideous to look at. |

A thread had already been created for this. You can join in the discussion below: https://www.nairaland.com/1788456/24-season-9-jack-back |
Nomski0: I agree, but they need to reduce the CGI and increase the budget so we could get more angel fight scenes.Amen to that. ![]() |
philfearon: I mean if it turns into a trend, someone might use Ur moniker or any other persons moniker to be doing exactly opposite of the things u do here on Nairaland... ![]() I hope it doesn't come to that, cuz things will get really crazy then. We will have a situation where 2 identical monikers will be contradicting each other and confusing the heck out of everyone else. ![]() |
philfearon: And using your replica moniker to praise Marvel comics and talk of how u made a turn and started Worshipping them Biblical God.....lol!!I'm afraid I didn't catch the joke. Elaborate? |
OMG! ![]() The other moniker is viewing the thread right now! |
candygosh: Funny, I don't have any enemies here. I don't thinkof anyone as my enemy. An I have got real friend not even on nl, out of nl.Such an expensive prank. Hope these doesn't become a trend. |
OMG! There are 2 identical candygosh accounts! WTF?! Someone must really hate you, @candygosh. You better know who your REAL friends are. PS: Very glad I didn't rain curses on you when the impostor insulted my Mom. One of the smartest decisions I've ever made. Accept my sympathies, and sincerely I hope Seun will do the needful ASAP. |

Really enjoyed Michael's backstory and the fact that the character seems to be unraveling a little. Nothing's really going according to plan: -Alex's mistrust, -Becca's, -the senate -and the people of Vega. Michael's done the things he thought was best but it seems like it's biting him in the ass. |
Best course of action is to put her on the ignore list by not quoting her. Her mission is to derail this thread, and from the present state of things, it's working. Be smart, y'all. |

Marvel Comics: Imitating DC since 01BC. ![]() |
Dumb show with shitty characters. Since it's a Marvel production, it's to be expected however. |

philfearon: That's how we saw it.....More like "I wonder why they cancelled the show as it was getting sweeter by the minute"....I think it had something to do with Canal+ pulling out because of internal dispute with the actors or something... ![]() |
philfearon: You don see am Na!!Pardon? Care to elaborate? Pidgin English is really not my thing. |

hyzicbond: p.s. Lost is an ABC production aThanks for the correction. I got so used to watching it on Fox network that I completely forgot that it originated from ABC. |
Kezifils: In 24, except Jack and Chloe who remained till the end, most of the main guys were killed. In Alias, Michael was shot like a thousand times and yet he survived. They always survive and not to Mention Sloan's case. After a while, to me the show got predictable. If that's the only reasons you're basing your arguments on, then you don't really have a case. Even the best of Television Shows are susceptible to weak plots now and then, and "24" is no exception. In fact, there are several plot holes in 24 that I can care to count. As for predictability, "Alias" doesn't come close as being as predictable as 24. Alias keeps one guessing, rooting for Sydney and hoping that she doesn't get caught or hurt in practically every episode. And for good reasons too, for she doesn't always come out on top in one-on-one melees and consistently gets the shiit kick out of her. The suspense is so intense and every outcome is a surprise. Whereas in 24, everybody already know that Jack is so freaking badâss that he's always gonna win any one-on-one scuffle, even before an episode kicks into 2nd gear. No real suspense and every outcome is expected. It can't possibly get any more predictable than that, mate. 24's great, don't get me wrong, but when it comes to nerve tingling and heart wrenching stunts, gun fights and action scenes, Alias easily takes the cake between the 2. PS: Do you know that "Jennifer Garner" performed all of her stunts herself, refusing to work with a body double, in her portrayal of the "Sydney Bristow" character? Simply awesome. Even Kiefer Sutherland (Jack Bauer) couldn't top that. |
osymerga: But i like that 'CRISIS' die.The suspence, conspiracies, politics etc is very intrigue. I wonder why it should be canceled.Hope they continued with it later....It's a good show, but nowhere in the league of the greats. Glad when NBC scrapped it off their calendar. |
philfearon: Try : XIII:The ConspiracyThat show's pretty good. It's too darn short though. Just when I was starting to enjoy it, it ended. |
