Kezifils: Good List but AliasThe only show on the list that tops "Alias" in the gun fight department is "Strike Back." Check this out: You were recruited by CIA when you were in College, but later on, it turned out the Agency that recruited you weren't really CIA but a black ops division that turned rogue. You were made aware of this when the real CIA approached you and secretly enlisted you to help them destroy SD-6 (The rogue agency) from within. So you went back to work, but this time as a double agent, secretly working for the CIA, and pretending to be fully committed to SD-6. And BTW, your father so happens to be the Vice-Head of SD-6. That's what "Alias" all about: Taking risk, finding yourself in precarious positions and consistently questioning your sense of loyalty. It's a top notch spy/counter terrorism/political action thriller. "Jennifer Garner" as the conflicted but determined "Sydney Bristow" executed what can only be described as flawless performance in the TV show. She killed it. |
A team of a different sovereign nation can choose to compete in another league so far as all the criteria are met. Monaco competes in French ligue one even though she's a wholely independent principality. Swansea choose to compete in EPL, even though Wales have it's own league. I reckon, even if the Catalan nation gains their independence from Spain, Barca will choose to remain in the Spanish football, even if it means going back to the lowest level and starting all over again. |
Pepe himself is black and racially abusing of another black man is hilarious. Here in South Africa, we call people like him, Choc-Ice (Black people that wish they're white). |
This chick on menses needs to go back to her "Teenage Vampire" thread ASAP, cuz her needless and childish inputs are not needed here, at all. |
leverage: HIS VERSION OF WINTER SOLDIER WAS GOOD BUT THAT SPIDERMAN,NA NAIRALAND DATA LOSS PHUCK UP I FOR PUT THE LINK HERE.The guy's definitely talented. ![]() |
leverage: THIS IS NOT EVEN HIS BEST HE DID ONE ON AMAZING SPIDERMAN2 Csami: Only amazing spiderman, captain america nko?Too bad I missed his take on Spiderman 2. I probably would have enjoyed it cuz I hated the movie. |
Couldn't find his Spiderman 2 posts on his profile though. Obviously, one of the victims of the infamous data loss. ![]() |
emk4lif: Seriously,Brody's death basically killed the show for me, what's there to look forward to in season 4.......It however still remains in my opinion probably the best written political cum spy series and the characterization was perfect, Carrie Matherson was a natural. That's too bad. But you gotta remember, the story revolves around Carrie, not Brody. Carrie epitomizes the "Perfect Agent." Someone that is flawed, in fact, greatly flawed (she's bipolar) but determined to do her job to the best of her ability, even if it means shooting herself in the foot now and then. Sometimes, she's highly irritating and thoughtless, but you find yourself rooting for her all the same. Everyone loves Carrie, everyone. So-far-as she stays the protagonist, there's plenty to look forward to next season indeed. -Carrie just got promoted to "Station chief", -and don't forget, she's pregnant with Brody's baby. -She's conflicted about keeping the baby for herself or giving it up for adoption, -and most importantly, she's going away to Turkey to assume her new role as the station chief. -Turkey is situated near the "middle east" - a hot zone. IMHO, Next season of Homeland will be explosive. |
@severee, If you're really the author of the OP, then I doff my hat to you. That's an excellent piece of writing, mate. |
There is always a reason for cancelling TV shows. They range from lack of funds and low ratings to trepidation. |
MadCow1: Yeah they do cancel great shows for no reason.I googled it and looked up the ratings, and they were quite decent, not spectacular, but okay. According to what I was able to piece together from 3 separate sources, Spike TV cancelled the show because they didn't think it was worth the risk. |
MadCow1: If you Wikipedia it, the ratings were healthy.. Spike TV network just cancelled it for no darn reason.Lolz. A show cannot be cancelled just like that for no good reason. There must have been something. |
MadCow1: However, 1 series stands out for me and though it got cancelled after just 1 season, it remains the best darn action series I ever saw and I can even dare to say it makes 24 look silly. It's called 'Kill Point' and features Mark Whalberg. From the very first scene of the series, it's a bang and stays that way till the end.If it's so darn good, then why did it get scrapped? |
RAKITIC: After watching 24 frm season 1 to 9 . Just searching for another series dat is similar or better than 24 . Pls ur views are highly welcome-Strike Back (Red hot, the action never cease) -Homeland (One of the best political thrillers I've ever seen) -Alias (The protogonist, Sydney Bristow makes Jack look like a boy scout) -The Blacklist (You gotta love the protagonist's cunning and intelligence) -Hunted (When the hunter becomes the hunted, all bets are off) -The Unit (Unity, honor and... family) -Nikita (The fight scenes and gun fights might be exaggerated at times, but it gets the job done) |
RAKITIC: pls where can i download CRISISDon't. The Series was cancelled due to low ratings. There will be no season 2. Apparently, the general audience didn't like it very much. |
phantom: extantWho told you Homeland's over? The show got renewed for the 4th season a while ago, and will be resuming with the 4th installment next season. |
parrotibaba: is dominion not in d supernatural genre? what stops us from comparing n contrasting d both series? its like talking about blue shoes n expecting everyone talks about only blue shoes without comparing it to other colours of d same shoe..did u even listen to ur self while u were typing dis crap? I guess sm ppl r just plain stupidI couldn't have said it any better myself. And that's a wrap. |
"Say 'ello to my lil' friend!" |
colossus2: ThanksNo Worries. ![]() |
First DC came out with "Batman". Than Marvel followed suit with "Iron Man". While on the surface the two characters seem very different, however, when you dig just a bit, you find the similarities: -Batman was born wealthy, with great intelligence, lost both parents, trained to be a warrior, fights crime and protects those who need it, and lastly leads a life of solitude and self-hatred. Iron Man was born wealthy, with superior intelligence (genius), eventually lost his parents, self-trained to be a hero, fights crime and protects those who need it and lastly, leads a life of solitude and self-loathing. -Batman has a butler who is his best friend and most helpful ally. Iron Man's closest friend is his assistant. -Both are the heads of major corporations and are decadent while not in there true identities. To name just a Few: DC vs. Marvel ============= -Superman/The Sentry -Wonder Woman/Ms. Marvel -Green Arrow/Hawkeye -The Flash/Quicksilver -Deathstroke/Deadpool Bottom Line: Marvel lacks creativity and originality, and seemingly feeds on DC's. |
colossus2: Wow!!! I'm loving Homeland. Almost done with season 2I know you will love it once you get fully invested. ![]() |
I don't hate Marvel, infact, I enjoy a lot of Marvel books, but I do hate that it seems like a lot of Marvel characters were made in direct response to DC characters in an effort to "one-up" DC comics characters. I find that extremely irritating. |
Shikaamaru: Naruto..Superman's not from the sissy central, Marvel Comics. The Man Of Steel is from the awesome DC comics. Don't get it twisted. |
Any Superhero that isn't from the Marvel Universe will do. My personal fav though: Bruce Wayne/Batman. He's completely human but can hold his own against the rest of 'em. |
"Dominion" is getting better and better. For the benefit of those that haven't seen Episode 6 and 7, I won't be posting any spoilers for now, except to say the show's living up to expectation indeed. Showcase's hit shows, "Defiance" and "Continuum" are in for a long tasty battle ahead. Syfy's "Dominion" is not going away anytime soon. |
All the "Final Destination" franchise. You knew Death's coming for you, but you don't know when, where and how. The creepiest feeling in the world. |
-Episode 6 and 7 of "Dominion". -"Ray Donovan" Season 2 |
killzone: and y do u want to knw-Smallville: A story about Superman, where the fans patiently waited for 10 good years hoping to see the man of steel finally put on the red cape and fly at will, only to have their optimism thwarted time and time again... until the very last episode of the show. What a waste. -Legend Of The Seeker: I've watched a lot of sword fight scenes of Movies and TV shows alike, and one thing that sets them apart from other genre is the consistent blood and gore excitement. At least, that's the general idea until "The Legend Of The Seeker" came into the picture. I've never seen a dryer sword fights in my life. No blood ever flowed, Choreography sucked, and to make matters worse, the Protogonist was a weakling that cannot do without the Confessor: a woman. When the TV series eventually got scraped at the end of the 2nd season by it's showrunners, I was one of the teeming mass that heaved a collective sigh of relief. "Good Riddance To Bad Rubbish" -The Originals: As if "Vampire Dairies" wasn't bad enough, "The CW" had to come out with a spin off series about one of the most boring vampire families on TV. Nothing special. I'd rather force myself to watch "Being Human" instead. At least, that one is more dynamic with more authentic traditional settings. From the above personal reviews, seems to me that @rockar had some good solid reasons to despising the 3 kindergarten TV shows. Calling him silly just because you didn't agree only served to put you in a Juvenile ballpark, so I ask again: "Just exactly how old are you?" |
killzone: what the Bleep are u saying Smallville, the originals, legend of the seeker foolish u must be sillyJust exactly old are you? ![]() |
I don't think this story is true. Such incidents don't happen in the United States for obvious reasons: a direct violation of the first amendment. |
"Another Earth." Modest to no Special Effect used, but the writing and delivery were fantastic. One of the best Sci-fis I've watched in the last 10 years. |
philfearon: Them dey try shaa!! I doff cap for them as them dey take do all the heavenly stuffs into a streamlined sequence....On a personal note,Jesus should not be used in the series...I will even prefer Moses....Well, I wouldn't mind. I've no personal stake or sentimental attachment. I'm not religious. |
