Hmmm, there is oil even in Calaba Itu, how much more Oron. Eken, Oron, Esit Eket, Una Eket, Uruan, Ikot Abasi, Calabar Itu, and the list goes on and on.. so many local government there has crude oil Please verify before arguing. Am not sure if the oil is being explored in Oron, but I've heardof shell at Ikot Abasi, however, if the user says so, you go do your findings. Cakephp: How much they paid you to tell lies?
There is no oil in Oron or Oruk anam, only one local government is producing oil in akwa ibom. |

Give a Man a fish, you will have to give him the fish forever, teach a man how to fish, he will fishfor himself. You see, the Airbus will boost the economy of the state, employ more people and by then, more people will be employed. Think again GreatResearcher1: Great job though! I heard the citizens of that state are suffering. Was the new acquired aircraft necessary at this time where aviation is struggling to stand on its feet?
Vision less leaders everywhere
Modified:
If this aircraft was ordered before the pandemic, what happens to cancelling the order and use the money for something more demanding?
A state where its citizens are suffering. No isolation centre, only two ventilators. just aquired an aircraft. How many planes are flying now?

Wao, white elephant, Ibom Air, Ibom Power, International Stadium, and other factories were all termed white elephant projects, now a reality.. Mind you Akwa Ibom Airport is the only state built and owned airport in the country. You see, apart from the fact that Akpabio stole money, Akpabio and this current Governor are all top performers autolearner: For a Geo-political zone, armed with so much funds from the FG, I think most South-South States are performing underwhelmingly. Absolutely chasing white elephant projects with no long-term plans for growth, just political clout.
See this...
Ask them to list what they've done without the influence of the FG asides paying salaries and a few km's of roads here and there, you'd be met with a loud silence. The only semblance to growth was when Donald Duke & Akpabio was in power and when they vacated office, the zone literally went side-ways in terms of any growth. Ask yourself, where's Tinapa today? The world literally wanted to be a part of Calabar Carnival every December.
The real jokers are the IPOBs looking to secede into trash-filled cities like Umuahia You can't hold your Governors to propel a solid zonal growth plan, that would attract the best minds, and even make the gifted hands in Ariaria globally marketable, but you'll be screaming Tinubu & Buhari's names on Obasanjo's internet.
Thanks to the FG for the seaport, hopefully, that would decongest our Highways., and reduce the high cost of shipping |

Talk to your agent/landlord about it, but don't mention your genuine reason, maybe you tell them urgent transfer from work or traveling for a course.

Did you realise that Akwa Ibom airport is state owned? Built and managed by the state Government for years, yet, no long stories. How would they not efficiently manage the airlines when thy have proven to be prudent with state resources. As it were, even Akpabio that was stealing recklessly knew his bounds, that state owned businesses must thrive. SoNature: Richdad50 has a point.
Time and time again, Nigerian government has shown that it's incapable of successfully running any business.
You see, every government business that has survived today is still in operation because the government uses it for other things.
For instance, the NNPC has become the cash pot of Nigerian politicans that's why the corporation keeps running at a loss year in, year out. It is sad that we cannot organize the biggest company in Nigeria's sector that finances her economy.
Similarly, while the NTA has some of worst picture quality in the world, it has become the propaganda tool of the government. That's why it hasn't crumbled yet. The media house that used to run independently cannot stand any fierce competition today.
Therefore, the best bet is for Akwa Ibom State to allow an experienced private firm move in and manage the airline. It could be a 70/30 arrangement. It should run in some local airports before kicking off its international operations - that's common sense.
Finally, stop using sane countries as instances whenever you discuss Nigeria. Over the years, Nigerians have proven that nothing good will ever work in this country. Absolutely nothing! |
Travel › Re: Ibom Air Set To Commence International Flights by Raypawer(m): 3:57pm On Dec 31, 2019 |
Akwa Ibom Airport was built by the state Government, the only airport built by a State Government in Nigeria, and it has been running for years now, how will Ibom Air fail What you don't know is bigger than your ego.. Richdad50:

An airline dead on arrival. It's only a matter of time before it is overrun by their nephews and relatives. Nigerian states or federal governments cannot run airline business. It is a rigorous venture. It will only take successive govt with other priorities to squash it.
Unsustainable development has been Nigeria's biggest challenge. Prioritizing programs that have zero impact on baseline economic indices.

Its what I can't comprehend... its on the rise I parked to my new rented apartment, and strolled out to get some stuffs, there I met this married woman, when I saw that she sells different type of rice, I asked her, do you have foreign rice, she said yes, I jokingly said that I will arrest her for selling a smuggled product, with my innocent mind, I was not thinking of anything, her reply stunned me She said, I should arrest her, make her hair, take care of her and all sort, I was shocked! This coming from a married woman. By God's Grace, I live above sin, and as such, I can't fornicat... I just had to leave her place. Use your brain and start a business... this is an opportunity for Nigerians to blossom, think about all the staples we would have bought from neighbouring countries, and fill in the missing gap IceColdVeins: Can someone analyze how the closure of borders will benefit me as an individual? Cos all I see is inflation and famine.
May I remind you the rationale for this very closure of borders? Its is almost solely to curb the issue of smuggling..... not just staple foods but everything....up from car spare parts down to your okirika clothes. We all know how exorbitant it is to clear container from the customs point due to high import duties and recalcitrant briberies. Now that aside!!
Closure of the bordering gates to curb smuggling analytically means all or most of the smuggled products come through those gates Now this should be the logic 1. smuggling is corruption (unarguable) 2. All smuggled commodities come through the border (very arguable) Closure of border will curb/reduce smuggling...........fine Mitigation of corruption at the borders will curb/reduce smuggling.........fine Since smuggling is a function of corruption in the borders (S=f(c)) Why not tackle corruption at the borders instead of subjecting the common man to more hardship without putting in place any form of ''shock-absorber'' When America wanted to boost their local steel production value that importation had almost crippled, you know what they did? they didnt even halt the importation, rather they lifted taxes on the local ores and placed huge taxes on the imported. Diplomatically, the market tilted to the side of the local steel production. Now this is how policies from informed set of parliaments look like. I have always said this, until Nigeria starts to run the government&police like a corporate organisation(bottom-up approach), where KPIs(key performance indicators) are reviewed, operations externally audited with impending sanctions for code of conducts breachers, only then the government can function. You've been shouting farming, need I remind you that locally made rice as a case study is always double the price of the imported. Now the imported has been banned, you think the prices of local rice would go down? Check your law of supply!!! Anyways thanks God fake/non-durable aba made clothings will be glorified atlast cos nobody go fit afford the original which import duties go don almost choke to death. So poor rats will be poorer cos aba made will now be more expensive once the demand increases.
Government did the right thing for sure but it was poorly strategized and for the wrong cause!!! Anyways, Orun nyabo, kon shoro enikan (IF sky dey fall, na all of us head e go knack) Body go teh u!! |
