Why don't you approach Primary and Secondary schools in the state you are to see if you can design websites for them? Make a list of these schools on paper and check online if they have functional websites . Approach the schools that do not have websites and offer to build a website for them at a very affordable price. If your sales approach is turned down, move on to other schools on the list. By the time you cover 5 Local Governments, you should start getting jobs and contracts to build and maintain websites for these schools. You can make a lot of money in this line of business if you are creative with your skills. Bro, I thank God for your life. However, I think you should apprentice yourself to a Plumber, Painter or Carpenter and learn some skills from them. If you humble yourself and apprentice yourself to any of them, they will take you along to sites and they will pay you some stipend everyday for being their assistant. If you learn quickly, you can start doing your own private jobs when you are free. Carrying pans of cement and sand etc is a very difficult job. You have to be extra strong to survive on jobs like that. Plumbing, Painting and Carpentry bring in more money if you are gifted in those areas. Cheers.

Small supermarkets in Nigerian neighborhoods will always have customers because they are closer to their customers. And there are lots of small scale supermarkets in cities all over Nigeria. Shoprite cannot compete effectively with these small supermarkets who have a maximum of 1-3 branches. My mother once owned a small shop when I was very young. I know how many goods we sold daily as I had to record every sale in a notebook . I was like 6-8 years old then. My mum was very good at getting products people in the vicinity of her Shop needed. People will rather shop quickly at the Small store or Shop closest to them when they want to eat, drink something or brush their teeth, bathe etc. No one wants to go a bit further away for something they can get at a better price in their area. @ Op, yes foodstuffs . However, what kind of foodstuffs? Food has several categories. Unprocessed food or Processed food? Snacks, cereals etc. A restaurant business will not be a bad idea. No matter where the Restaurant is located, you will have customers. All you need is to cook good food everyday and have affordable prices. It is also wise to locate the restaurant near a University ( If you cannot secure a space on the Campus ), Polytechnic, College of Education, Public Secondary school etc. Students love eating out a lot . Do not underestimate the amount of money you can find in the pockets of secondary school students and university undergraduates. Just cook good food everyday and watch your restaurant or canteen bombarded by students and even the public. Cook meals like Eba, Amala, Pounded Yam, Fufu and good soups. Also Rice and Beans, Yam in the morning etc. You can start with few meals and increase to different kinds of meals after 6 months. Visit a Restaurant and observe as people are coming to buy food to take home or eat there. Add cold drinks to your menu. I hope you know how to buy foodstuff and ingredients at cheap prices in the market.

You can also go into Cake Making and making Snacks. You just need to go for 3 months course in any of the catering schools in your location to learn how to make Cakes and Snacks. Yes, Game Center is a good business idea. If you can get the latest equipment for your game center, you will make good money. However, the space for the game center must have good aesthetics. Look for wall papers that have gaming photographs and graphics. Get a fridge and sell Zobo and other Cold soft drinks too ( Your Customers will want to drink something as they play the games ). Selling cold drinks will bring you more income and profit. As per the POS business, I am skeptical about it. This is because Smartphones will become more powerful as the years roll by. Nigerians will be able to perform more banking services with the phones and pay for almost everything with their Smartphones. Personally, I see the POS business in the same light as the Cybercafe business boom of 2000 to around 2012. Cybercafes are not booming again . The Senate has just made it easier for you to get employed, by proposing to set aside the age restriction factor that has kept many Nigerians from getting the job they applied for. The government can only create an enabling environment for you to thrive. You have to look for a job yourself or create one for yourself. Government can only create civil service jobs and Federal jobs like Police, Customs, Immigration, Army, NYSC Staff etc. Even in the developed countries, it is the private sector that is creating 85% of the jobs in those places. Why should a Polytechnic graduate be competing for jobs with a University graduate? Polytechnics are meant to develop your technical skills and make you develop a sense of self-sufficiency. As a Polytechnic graduate, you should be able to create a job or business for yourself. I have come across many Polytechnic graduates who are naturally good with their hands and they have profitable skills, yet they are always looking to work in banks and the white collar sectors of the Nigerian economy . My brother graduated from the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, and he remains very gifted when it comes to doing business and selling things. He studied Business Administration but he has never worked with his Certificate. I respect Polytechnic graduates a lot.

And at the moment they're working hard on oil, mining and industrialization.
In the mean while, they keep exploring the oils in the south, and the gold in the southwest, when they finish packing those things and south is left with nothing, they might even be the first to break from the country.

I agree with you 90%. Northerners are silent millionaires and billionaires. Maybe it is their religion that disallows them from flaunting their wealth. I have come across Northerners who control a lot of money they made legitimately from business and agriculture. They also support themselves and they are very astute businessmen. Some of the best Farms and Factories are located in Northern Nigeria. And they are advancing everyday. Their young ones are studying in the best Universities all over the World. Many young Northerners are studying in Universities in the West Midlands in England. They live in expensive flats in the City Centres of Birmingham, Coventry, Nottingham etc. Southerners need to realize that a new breed of Northerners are emerging. Hmn.
