The four room bedsitter I plan to build for my elder brother,we are considering a circular shaped or egg shaped house,we need something different and remember most houses in Nigeria are the normal rectangular shape house.

I plan to beautiful this building after construction with flowers and some trees.We will also drill borehole.

Remember hausa laborers are cheaper to hire and also I have plan to buy a water tank that we will use to store water for working,We will start with 500 block first, because we want to also use block to raise a little fence to warn our neighbour who is giving us headaches by trespassing Into our land.

I'm just respecting their old age not that I'm afraid of them,I will invite the community people to mention the land and we will dig hole to set foundation blocks for fence first .

for roofing shit use stone coated 0.5 guage or Aluminum 0.7.
wood personally I prefer HAND SAW WOOD. (DANTA , ABURA, EKI...)

This solar issue is still unclear I agree with born2conquer opinion in the solar issue, because i have read all the quote to his message and they keep saying if u use "the right equipment " why can't u all just go straight to say what u can vouch for? or even the professionals are gambling it?
I have neighbors with over 17 panels on roof baba dey turn on gen sometimes. my personal opinion on this solar stuff is, it's good but not as sustainable as the generator or the general power supply.

Let him be the one to handle his people, if you happen to be on site with them during work, you will observe how his workers (daily paid workers) will be stressing him.

the challenge is at the moment my carpenters are affected by the weather ( heavy rain) and since I'm doing daily pay I still get to pay the days wage.

on days when it doesn't rain they closed 3pm, I complained alot but to no avail.

Story time... so today I went somewhere to measure the sqm of a compound floor for a stamp floor job after measuring we got a total of 200sqm I told the guy that at 3" of concrete we would use about 100 bags, he shouted and said someone else already told him 40 bags would do the job for regular concrete flooring. how is this even possible? 1" thickness?

if u were the engineer. you can't bid a contract n win. even when u win ur Client will tag u as wasteful n u will loose ur contract

I use this ratio as my minimum ratio and every time I do the workers marvel at how much granite I am using. They complain that they are not used to that much granite being used.

I have used both 1/2-inch granite and 3/4-inch granite.

In fact, I was once called Julius Berger for my insistence on the quality of concrete mix.

Once when someone had cause to break a portion of the concrete the workman shouted, do you want to build an everlasting house? This concrete is too strong!

I wash the granite that I use to create a 4'/6"water barrier, but I have never washed the granite that I use for the concrete mixtures.

Going forward, I will.

I even use reinforcement (TMT) for the concrete floors which the laborers said is a very rare event.

ANSWER FOUND:

1 trip of the regular 6 Tyre tipper moulds about 11 bags of cement. at 40 units 5" blocks per bag a trip would give u 440 blocks.
