Ofunaofu:Yes, because the plates are personlised to the owner, not the vehicle. If I am not mistaken, there was a regulation change at the FRSC a long while back to this effect. I don't know if this is still in effect. |
They are always winning. They win everything except the things that concern most people. Why not try to win the war against carnage and death, win the war against poverty and suffering....for a change. |
Dshocker:She owes the man absolutely nothing. She owes the family absolutely everything. That is the mentality of a healthy family. Individualism, selfishness, the lack of sacrifice is killing families and reverberating to destroying the Nigerian society. Me, me, me, me.... |
Materialism. The gold standard for contemporary Nigerian families. So unfortunate. |
This is appalling. What kind of evil is this. Are these people deranged or what. Kai, this is terrible. I think it is time for the US to step in and out a halt to the violence in that place or be held responsible for the growing genocide. |
The man is gradually working his way into the suspect list all by himself. He will quickly realise the need to obtain legal counsel. |
ICEMAN:It is all over cable tv for weeks now. The damaged refineries, the fuel queues. This nonsensical war should just end yesterday. Absolutely nothing gained. |
Itiskdg121:Absolutely. It is just Mutually Assured Destruction - MAD business. Ukraine had repeatedly called for a ceasefire but it appears Putin won't let go of the shovel and continues to dig. Russia and perhaps the rest of the world has everything to lose if it collapses. It is a very large country surrounded by fearful but treacherous neighbors just waiting to exert their own pound of flesh from an age old oppressor. |
This man ought to get legal counsel to advice him on what to say....and more importantly, what not to say. Very rarely does the court of public opinion favour across social classes. |
Yeah, this will force them into adopting technology to do their business as more states get fed up with the primitive 'checkpoint' subculture pervading this country. Reduce corruption in your offices, adopt technology in your operations and you will be precise and unobtrusive in your enforcements. When you use a fishing rod instead of a fishing net you save time, energy and your public persona. |
Chinny024:In summary, opacity that further erodes trust of individuals in authority and institutions of government. This is the vicious They just live wayward, irresponsible lives. Nigerians should sit up and start holding people who control their resources and direct their destinies to higher standards of scrutiny, responsibility and fidelity. |
We4all:But what was her job description as a 'physiotherspist'....is the man in question invalid or what. I don't understand. The media is not asking deeper questions as to the private lives of public officials obviously lived on taxpayers resources. If the lady in question is a learned but not a registered professional then there are some serious administrative and perhaps security lapses taking place that should be aired. But if she is not learned we can just assume she is a masseur and the optics are even darker and more sordid. I will always say this. The opacity by which government in the third world is run cannot make for good governance. Leadership continues to fail to gain the trust traction amongst the people thus making their jobs of service delivery harder than anywhere else in the world. |
Just seeing this post. Just reading the opinions and positions of everyone. ....and just being amazed. But, life teaches us many lessons. One if which is simple. Integrity, justice, truth are the only things that can stand the test of time. If we all understand what government is about and how democracy shapes societies then we will learn what positions to take, the natural points of view to have and the issues to advocate for. |
Ah, ah, another one....when did this happen...kai this is terrible....just terrible. In all.the political fights, the insults traded, the tirade of criticism....why is this country just not getting better. What are we doing...or not doing as a people....that is making our situation worse. This is how people of progressive societies reason their way out of despondency. They stop digging and begin to fashion out ladders of escape. My concern is that at this trajectory we are going....Nigeria is becoming like some countries I dare not mention. If this country fails.... politics, business, education, all the things we fight over won't matter anymore. That investment you are making as an individual dearly depends on how stable this country will be in the future. So the fortunes of this country concerns you.....what are you doing to maintain the status quo or changing the narrative. |
Well, Mr. Shettima the facts and figures are stark and will confront you guys at the end of your tenure. As to where you met poverty and where you left it. That will be your legacy. So you can either get busy fixing this economy or continue up and down the world making persuasive speeches. Afterall as they say, talk is cheap. |
Ashirioluwa:It is not clear that this is a case of murder. But that is what investigations are meant to determine. And because it is a high profile case involving important members of society the police should conduct the matter transparently and above board. |
fotadmowmend:Indeed. If the police have enough grounds to initiate an investigation, an autopsy is absolutely critical. The man should realise that manslaughter, murder, criminal negligence, etc are not personal crimes but crimes against the society and the law should take it's course. A good number of celebrities death cases around the world has led to the prosecution of people that ordinarily one will consider as innocent by way of their relationship with the deceased. Still doesn't matter, the dead needs justice. |
His opinions do not count if suspicion of foul play necessitating investigation has arisen. For all intents he himself has to be cleared of any involvement and his actions will not be helping his cause in sane societies. |
Dreal1247:Why, no more amnesty.... |
Second terms are never better than the first.. We have had enough worked examples in this 5th Republic. They are only known for significant, record breaking looting and mega scandals. Nothing to lose in politics just means a free for all. |
PlasmaTV:I think it is a private sector led initiative just like the Centenary City project. They will fund it until their bogus government contracts dry up.... By the way, there was talk in the past that Abuja does not accommodate skyscrapers in the master plan. Nothing higher than 12 storeys, that is about 40metres or round about 130 feet off the ground.... So what happened. |
kokoA:Wasn't that the Yaradua/Jonathan era mega hype.... Nothing much is heard about it today leading a skeptic like me to assume all these projects are laundering conduits. |
Well it has been raining cats and dogs all morning.... Hard to see anything being commissioned in this weather |
Dalohad:No sir. DPK and Jet A1 is not the same thing. Put DPK in your aircraft's tanks and you will almost certainly not reach your destination. |
Gbadugbakun:Jet A1 and DPK are not the same thing, pls be informed. |
Said it. That Morgan Rodgers stupid decision when on goal was the end of their tournament. |
That was England's last chance of winning it....what a waste by Rogers with Kane to his left. |
prinsam30:Spain. The Spanish conquered almost all of the Americas. If not for the British we will all have had to learn Spanish by now. |
After fifteen minutes both teams are still not ready to play football...what is all this.... ![]() |
At least Nigeria has been represented in every match by Burna Boy... ![]() |
