Feudalism.
Politics › Re: Motion To Summon Tinubu Turns House Of Representatives Into A Rowdy Session by Reference(m): 4:01pm On Jul 08
It is only when their feeding bowl is withheld they are yapping like hungry puppies. They have not tried to summon him over critical issues and matters of grave national concern....no.

They too want contracts and projects, the easiest route to graft.
Foreign Affairs › Re: China Sentences Official, Yang Youlin, To Death For Taking $325m In Bribes by Reference(m): 12:48pm On Jul 08
They know, that whatever the state tolerates it has to acc pt and with the motivation to become a sustainable global.powet they have to do it.

Here in my country there are no aspirations for greatness. Nationhood is reduced to religious and tribal schisms so there is no incentive to right any wrongs, none whatsoever.

That is why we have always said that without restructuring, this country just cannot become great.
Crime › Re: Two Nigerians Arrested In India Over ₦915,000 Online Romance Scam (photo) by Reference(m): 12:35pm On Jul 08
Disgusting criminals making the lives of genuine foreign visitors a nightmare.

When are we going to sort out our criminal justice system so that Nigerians understand and respect the law.

If a child is not schooled at home he will certainly embarrass the parents in public.

If Nigeria values her international image it has to start creating an awareness in this country that crime does not pay by making examples of those caught right here in Nigeria.

If you want to see an end to fraud, drug trade, slavery, etc, abroad, then the consequences of such crimes must be demonstrated at home.

givedemwotowoto:
They have seen the growing Northern support for the OK movement and they have crawled out from their hiding places.

Meanwhile for those of you thinking of collecting N15,000 kpa to sell your votes, don't forget that tax day is coming. They will squeeze it out of you with higher cost of living and more taxes.
With all these sordid, stinking tales of corruption floating about the corridors of government, they will need brass balls to dare ask anyone to pay additional taxes....
Travel › Re: Lagos Takes Delivery Of More Trains For The Red Line by Reference(m): 12:25pm On Jul 08
Just very commendable.
This is the kind of infrastructure that is developmental. There is just no substitute for rail transport.at all. Speed, efficiency. No hold ups, no checkpoints, no touts, nothing.

If this can be a national quest. If this ideal and vision were to be the priority of this federal government instead of all these highways that have very limited capacity, short lifespans and are the feeding troughs of contractors, then we will be making real progress in reducing a major cost center of industrialization and every productive venture across the country.

Then we will have something in our brochure to sell to investors as a means to persuading them to set up shop anywhere in the country.

But the government has to be deliberate about delivery and management.
Sports › Re: Official FIFA World Cup 2026 Thread by Reference(m): 12:12pm On Jul 08
The only thing this tells me is that Europe still dominates world football with six of eight quarter finalists, Africa and South America having one each, Asia and North America, none despite the fact that the latter is hosting.

Before 2014 Europe has struggled to dominate World Cups hosted outside Europe but it seems this has changed.

Despite the fact that foreigners dominate European leagues and top European clubs they appear unable to translate the improved the technical aspects of the game to sound team, tournament and administrative performances leading me to think that African, Asian and other nationals only venture to Europe for the money, economic migration, rather than the real love of the game and the possibilities of improved performances.

Too bad.

Because they refused to read..... government warnings, civil society earnings and even common sense warnings.

What can be a better definition of antithesis. That intellectualism can be caught up by emotion and greed. That is supposed to be the bastion of the crass simpleton.

What can be so brazen as the obvious hidden in plain sight.

Shows that the average Nigerian just does not have the mental capacity to succeed on the pure sense of it. Money, greed, avarice seems to have taken a seat at our traditional council.

Sports › Re: What's Really The Problem Of African Football? by Reference(m): 8:52pm On Jul 07
Because they don't grow into the game.
They start like a house on fire and then tire out in the run in.

Sound tactics require tons of mental stamina and most African teams bar Morocco just don't have it.

I saw an Egypt play a strange game in the first 30 minutes and I did question if they would be able to maintain that tempo for 90 minutes.

The truth is that if you change the way you play because of a certain opponent, if you discard your natural game, your natural instincts will certainly not follow you all the way.

Honestly this is absolutely none of my business.
Just gjad I sold off my holdings in that Lekki of a place a long time ago. And anytime I visit I really do understand my thinking back then.

A environmental disaster of huge proportions is brewing. That is if you understand science and your ears are pressed to the ground of other countries with similar topography.

I repeat again. The place has no long term sustainable future. The cost of living there will soon become astronomical to both government, enterprises and individuals.

The Chief of Staff doesn’t issue appointment letters

So if an appointment letter is given to someone by an imaginary Chief of Staff, it’s a forgery. Commonsense.
Which means the conspiracy is wider, affecting even more people than has been disclosed. Perhaps that is why more and more money was demanded from the hapless fraud of a man, to grease even more palms....

Have you considered that he might be lying?
The debate throughout this week is about how a 'lie' can penetrate to the inner sanctum of government and the Presidency and do so much damage. It is just too unbelievable to be true that he acted ALONE.

That if our government is so porous then how can the average Nigerian trust it with power.

Look Mister, there is no way of white washing the failures of the government at hand. They are either grossly corrupt or grossly incompetent. There are severe penalties for either in sane societies.

I have just listened to some fellow on radio here in Abuja saying that the President cannot personally monitor everything that occurs in government. Every report, every memo bla bla bla....

But this President above any before him operates the largest bureaucracy since independence, particularly in the face of calls for a trim of public expenditure.

There is an army of advisers and assistants in Aso Rock who can spare a little time out of their busy schedules chasing contracts to vett what Mr. President sees and does.

And you know what. He, Mr. President appointed every single one of them. You his supporters have often claimed that, and I quote, '...will he appoint his enemies...'

So his 'friends' like you work for him. Why can't you help your friend save himself from this national embarrassment. Why don't you help your President instead of berating society and expecting everyone to buy smoke.

What I just don't understand is,
You want to play the victim, you want to play Mr. Clean. You refused to play ball, resisted unofficial coercion and extortion.

Why in the devil's name could you not just record the correspondence, voice or visuals. Any five year old can do that on any mobile telephone.

By now you will have had them running helter skelter while you dictate the terms of 'surrender' from the protection of a well concealed bunker.

How can a man so adept at fraud be so naive about insurance.

Told you folks again and again.
This government has no deliberate plan or.program in place to turn this economy around.
What you see today will only change by you as an individual or the nation as a collective.

Those folks on the other side are hoping you adjust to your poverty and sufferings. As you can see from all the sordid, corruption laden escapades of the past week. They are busy satisfying themselves, feeding fat on your common wealth.

It is up to you to agree and continue or stand up and say enough is enough.

FIFA has lost respect. Now seen as a political pawn.
They either get rid of Infantino and his team or set themselves up for future litigation and rancour.

Now everyone will stand against disciplinary measures and every government will interfere in not only FIFA itself but in their various country's football federations.

CAF will be laughing their heads off at their own criticism for pushing a pro Morocco agenda at the last AFCON.

Is that how we repay them for under-developing our continent- enslaving ourselves there voluntarily to increase the development gap between us and them? Voluntarily unlike when we FORCED our brethren there for over four centuries as slaves, insisting to continue the criminal trade even when oyinbos had a change of mind.
You're absolutely right.
