TimiofAbuja:I keep in saying this. The creation of a welfare state. A country of beggars, borrowers and 'stealers'. The deliberate policy of job creation through industrialization and enterprise creation is non existent. They rather recommend straw ventures that are easily blown away by the winds of high inflation, leaving citizens in debt traps they may never break. Okay, if you cannot create industries, why not work with industrialists to establish them. Dangote has a refinery, petrochemical and fertilizer plant for instance. Three main blocks from which countless enterprises can be spun off, up and down the value chain. Why not organise 'the people' around cooperatives to set up cottage industries to manufacture plastic products, chemical products, oil based products, etc scattered throughout the country. Set them up, seed them and then recover your investment through guided enterprise. Set up the things that have real value to transmit and multiply real skills that are internationally competitive, to produce products that have foreign exchange value and/or import substitution value. That is how to prosper a people and develop a country. Oh, when are we going to have eaders that are visionaries, that know how to build societies bottom up. |
Angelfrost:They will flog him thoroughly in the dressing room. He better just hide in the loo. |
Bellingham banger. What a goal.... |
Sorloth was very silly there. |
Only Bellingham is alive in this team. The others are completely out of their depths so far. |
I said it.... |
England may bite the dust if they continue their jaundiced performance. |
anonimi:Beef is the most common meat product used in preparing both. Mutton is the next most common. Both are not very healthy by nature, the oils used to grill them are unhealthy and grilling in itself is not a healthy way to prepare food. So the food and the way it is commonly prepared makes it one of the worst things a person can consume. If you must, do so in very small portions and only once a while. |
Sheuns:There is a difference between 'private jet' 'band 'corporate jet'. Private means personal just as a private residence or private automobile with gree number plates (in Nigeria) A corporate jet' can be privately owned but it can also be registered as belonging to an enterprise and used privately or as an air taxi just as automobile taxis with red coloured numbered plates. |
None actually. I prefer fish for obvious reasons. Wild fish from as far north as possible. |
This is absolutely very wrong of Mr. Peter Obi to fail to obey institutional rules and regulations and completely reprehensible to then peddle false claims of political victimisation. This is not showing qualitative leadership of which rule number one is simple, show good example. The continuos failure of leadership to do this and live creditably has continued to drive a trust wedge between leadership and the led in all aspects of governance. His humble public persona and popularity was more than able to obtain favours over and above the ordinary person IF HE HAD JUST ASKED and given due respect to those in charge of that place. But it appears these days as if he is bowing down to some sort of political siege mentality with his frequent outbursts at every obstacle he faces real or inferred. He should build the mental stamina needed to push through if he hopes to win the biggest prize. This is absolutely unnecessary. |
So 'Boko' is important afterall.....life... |
shortgun:The report is on the response of the residents who are happy about the development. You cannot fault them for that. That is what government is for and the government in this case has delivered. Give them credit. Just as across town many communities continue to berate the government for the exact opposite and rightly so. That is the nature of things. You complain when you don't, you credit when you do. That is democracy in action. |
GOVERNORR:If you can afford anti-bacterials it is better than ordinary detergents. |
That is what soap and water is for. Having good quality soap and clean running water is a lot more important. Emphasize more on the later and you will be okay. The lack of running water is why road side eateries are so dangerous. Patrons are better served taking their own tableware. |
Banbanna:Stan Kroenke's Stadium. Wants to replicate same at the Emirates. |
Good one by the security forces. Their loved ones must be relieved that the horrific nightmare is finally over. The children amongst them need serious, serious counseling and utmost care to vanquish this incident from their minds to prevent long term psyche damage. Just glad the ordeal is over. Now let us learn dome important lessons from all this. |
Kinikini:And all the things you claim he is 'setting up' can and may perhaps be reversed when the 'other side' comes back into power. What guarantees continuity is the strength of a people, the understanding of a people, the solidarity of a people. So it is incumbent of any government that desires to change the course of a country through reforms to CARRY THE PEOPLE ALONG by doing the business of real leadership. But when your leadership is elitist, sectional and unjust. When you cannot commit class suicide, when your government is essentially tribal and when you cannot listen and respond to the basic yearnings of the people, they will not defend your so called legacy after your departure. This is the bane of our democracy. Our inability to gel this nation. Our leaders must always play a zero sum game. We win, they lose. We know all, they don't know anything. So the next set that comes may ride a temporary pretense to get into power. But once they do they chart a new course. We need leadership that is people centric. We need politicians without baggage. We need Presidents that own nobody anything and are willing to be sacked at short notice. Anything outside that and this country will continue struggling. How can a commentator be saying the Buhari government was 'that good'. Talking as if we just returned from Mars after a decade in space. But it is so because as a nation we never seem to have a better future. |
'....with supporters and critics of both men engaging in heated debates...' Laughable. When do you ever see Nigerians engaging themselves in debates. Is the OP aware of the meaning of the word debate or is he mistaking the frequent gathering.of tribalists to cock fights for a cross checking of facts by opposing parties with the objective of greater understanding and resolutions...smh. |
Abeg, abeg, abeg... Government should be very, very, very careful about this. What kind of steel plant is it going to be. If it is manufacturing steel from iron ore, fine, great, wonderful. But if it is a steel recycling plant, we have enough of those....and boy are they causing havoc in this country. They are the fuel that flames the scourge of the scrap iron scavenger aka 'baban bola' that is behind theft, vandalism and certain degrees of insecurity. Does Niger state have iron ore deposits? Are there plans to import iron ore? If not....trouble is loading. |
fineboynl:No. The Soccer FA takes 20 percent 80 percent goes to the players. In this case to be split 40-40. That is about 5 mill each split amongst the players to THEIR personal accounts. |
After today, Argentina will be the only non European team left....so much for a 'World Cup'. Despite expanding the number to high heavens it is ending in resemblance to the European Championships. Ceferin will be laughing his head off and Gattuso will be like.....told you so. |
No. |
Angelfrost:I don't think so. France has the quality to score anytime. |
Angelfrost:He was too eager to catch up in the goalador race. ...too bad. |
This crazy bid for top scorer has robbed France of the opener. He was too eager, too greedy. |
Maz has done his usual business of careless fouls. Now the 'brute' has a chance to open scores....and Bono saves... |
You can see how Morocco is more technical than Egypt. Patient in play and not trying to outgun France hence expending too much energy too early and gassing out at the later stage. |
brain54:A prepaid meter should not have a single penny in debt. It simply cannot in principle. But if it is a converted postpaid meter then like anything used or as we say in this country second hand you buy 'as it is', warts and all. No complaints. |
Then it is not a new meter and it is certainly not a prepaid meter. |
A country that is more friendly to 'contractors' than industrialists. This same factory started at the same time in China will be selling stuff to the world by now. |
Just don't understand why people blacken out their vehicles. I can't just get my head around this. What are you hiding from if you are an upstanding citizen. It is a first sign to me that I have to be ultra alert if I am dealing with such a person. I personally think all permits should be voided. People who blacken out their vehicles should put themselves in the position of security officers on the highways that face life and death decisions everyday. How can you defend yourself if you cannot immediately identify an armed threat. |
