Smash and grab. Brazil outwitted completely. |
Reference:What did I say. Classic smash and grab. So unfortunate that a team as talented as Brazil, a gaffer as experienced as Ancelotti could not see what Norway was cooking by slowing the game down to a crawl. |
If Brazil lets this match stray into extra time they will be knocked out. You just have that feeling that the Norwegian strategy is the classic smash and grab. And they know Brazil will throw everything forward the longer it goes leaving holes at the back. |
Brazil should invest in a proper number 9. They are seriously lacking in that department You can create all you want, if you cannot finish....you are finished. |
Cunha, I can call a forward. Cunha, I cannot call a striker. Just doesn't have the striker's instincts. |
FIFA has really lost it. I don't think the organization will ever be the same after this World Cup. |
Government hacks are hard at work to whitewash the sepulchre. |
Omalicious1:But this is just too early in the life of this administration. The big ticket heists usually take place in the second term after power has been secured. If this is happening now you can just imagine what will be set in motion once the elections are done and dusted for them and all they see ahead is 'political pension quest'.....or political ROI....or political insurance premiums.... Is that not when we usually hear about CBN contracts and IOU's being traded in government circles to procure ghosts. |
dederocs:It is the people's fault. Citizen dereliction of civic duty. First law of democracy. DONOT LET ANY PARTY BECOME TOO BIG TO REMOVE. But here we were cheering the 'conquest' of the Legislature. Some failed citizens flying the infamous kite of, 'Cooperation is better than confrontation'. See where it has led. A country without law enforcement, without boundaries, a soccer match without refereeing. A free for all. Trillions have been lost according to the World Bank, spent, stolen, mismanaged (we will never know because there are no records).... A country just governed anyhow. |
Kukutente23:I raised that alarm of the 2% (approximately 9 trillion naira) when I first heard it about a a week and a half ago. To me it was the most brazen heist of all time in the annals of this country's history. This is just pure theft. How can government' or individuals in government just be taking money.out of the treasury without an iota of report. What is the difference between this and what Emefiele was doing. Because even Emefiele's was reported and recorded. These enormous amounts, humongous sums into several trillions cannot even be traced. Look. A lot of people will go to jail when this government eventually ends....and as for Mr. Tinubu we will not accept the usual story that, 'He did not know what was happening.' If Mr. Tinubu is not careful in handling his government and his people, his operatives, he may become the first ex-President to do serious jail time simply because the consequences of his actions have put this country and her citizens in such peril as has never been seen before in its history. He better start a massive clean up operation of government before it is too late to claim ignorance. |
I have told you folks. Just engage BBC Panorama and they will build a tunnel from London to Abuja if they have to find out the truth. Every other thing is just dancing around the camp fire. Very soon they will all return to their tents to sleep. Unseriouous country. If a commoner can do this you can imagine what the CIA, Mossad and other ghosts are capable of. |
Good one. Not too late to awake from slumber. Our cousins on the west coast, Ghana has not held back in engaging the SA government in much publicized fisticuffs while we were still playing the ostrich even though our own case is the worst of the worst. And it is not that MTN and DSTv are not Ghanian staples, so what is our excuse. Please make it loud and bold. Enough is enough. |
The summary is very simple. The cost of living via inflation is outrageous and a world away from what this country was just a few short years ago when we thought things were bad and hard. And that is why yours sincerely continues to berate this government for it's inability or as some speculate it's sinister intention of not fighting inflation perhaps so that the people can remain poor and pliable. But in all folks, remember that sound nutrition is as important to you as an individual as it is to a nation. Excesses will cost you dear in terms of medical bills and will strain the country's healthcare system. But malnutrition is just as bad, even worse as it will lead to lasting developmental damage particularly to children and will eventually limit life expectancy. Food is not only satiating and needed for growth and development of the human body. It is also the first line medication to defend your body against illness and disease. So please limit your compromises and fight for a better, healthier country. |
Richtaiwo:That is what it should mean. In contemporary Nigeria that is tantamount to feeding yourself because two adults can cater for themselves. One child is hardly a burden. PS, when I mean 'cater', it means the ability to adjust or accommodate changes to traditions and 'habits' which are more difficult to implement on children. |
The way the OP put it is largely misunderstood on two points. First. 'a FAMILY of three', usually means two adults and a child. OP, is that actually what you want to convey. Secondly, 'total expenses, just FEEDING' means the cost of food alone, groceries (in the west). Some may stretch the 'feeding' definition to include the kitchen costs of cleaning, energy and help. The OP should make it clear enough for everyone to share their own experiences. |
Congratulations to them. It's good to see that people still care about about building empires in frontiers abandoned by the majority that is truncated into the narrow space of day to day survival. It may not mean much to others but it does to people of vision. It is now left to the rest of us to appreciate these folks and do everything to reward their sacrifices. I just hope they can be thrust into limelight for even greater recognition and the kind of attraction that will cause our youth to stop and see other possibilities to fulfill their dreams despite the darkness their elders are adamant at providing them. |
allthingsgood:Three years. Like every thing third world the criminal justice system remains a juvenile playground. You can imagine how much resources has been expended/wasted on this case. Even the state cannot get swift justice thoughtless of the citizenry. The man should have long been incarcerated. |
Which World Bank again. Is it the one that is saying revenues are not sufficient on another thread. The same World Bank that is saying hunger and poverty has reached alarming levels is the same World Bank that is demanding the poor, the hungry pay more tax.....from where....will the revenues come. How do they wish this circle squared. |
So Mr. World Bank. Where is this revenue going to come from. |
seunmsg:As an ardent supporter of this government this is highly commendable of you and I must say is the kind of thing that can only make for not only a successful tenure but a working democracy. Calling out misgovernance is like weeding your lawn, The grass does not suffer, it thrives, it becomes healthier and more attractive. The only thing that suffers are vermin. Justice, accountability, the rule of law and independent, functional institutions. If we can get those right, everything shall be added to this country. |
See the kind of unfortunate news floating about the airwaves in the diaspora. And they lap it up in glee because it justifies their decisions to abandon this country. A country that refuses to change. Governments come and go. The same diseases persist. A hapless people that cannot move forward. |
Jozilinn:But even DSTv is no longer a South African company is the absolute sense of it. The ownership is now international, the title belonging to Canal of France. |
Empresa:They are both leaders in their sectors. We are not in prime position to control things as net consumers. It will just be like the America-China trade battles that America cannot possibly win without grossly damaging itself. You might excuse digital television as trivial but telecommunications is in the bracket of CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE and everything from security to the economy is tied into it. And MTN is without a doubt market leader. How we found ourselves in this position of exposure to foreign domination in such a sector is talk for another day. |
Clearly understood. Of course it is a case of apples and oranges. But sir, as a Nigerian you are in no position to speak about what you have no influence or control over. Chances are that you cannot freely walk the streets of South Africa. So you cannot excuse the actions of citizens of another country or apologize on their behalf. |
Of course he was assassinated to coverup their crimes. Grossly corrupt fellows at the helm of affairs. The World Bank raising alarm lately of secret extra budgetary spendings and in just three years into the regime we have Emefiele Gate all over again. |
Since the day I read about the life of the female octopus I just cannot get my head around the paradox of the soul of a man. The greatest asset and advantage above all things that God created and unfortunately....the greatest weapon fashioned against his humanity. We live, we are created to prosper our species. To ensure it survives, multiples and thrives forever. But we by ourselves are the greatest threat to this ideal. For the little act of kindness you can do for a person you have no affiliation or responsibility towards, to virtually laying down everything without recourse. Man is far, far down the qualitative index. Such a pity. |
Hmmm...meaning he wasn't too much into roids to live this long. |
tonididdy:It is all about the strong man versus the strong institution. You are right. This country CANNOT be repaired without the tools to do the job, simple. As long as individuals are above the law, hoping for development is just like waiting for the sun to run out of gas. We are yet to define as a nation the fundamental issue of what is right and wrong. What is acceptable and what is not. And as long as there are no boundaries to protect society, real progress is a mirage. Nigeria will not be developed in many generations to come. |
Bizibi:The President knows all that. But he must be doing a cost/benefit analysis which is still in Mr. Gbaja's favour. How will it go.... Well the rat will always come back to the grub he was chased away from and this sort of thing will occur again after a period of time. He will keep on doing his 'business' until the house is eaten up and it all comes crashing down. |
Bizibi:Simple. Two reasons. One, He is their henchman. Two, He knows too much. Just the same way they have to 'keep' someone like the FCT Minister. Same way dictators headhunt. They look for hardened folks with baggage. To do dirty work and have enough dirt on themselves to remain loyal. Is it a coincidence that the two contenders for the Senate Presidency in 2023 both had storied corruption cases. That is how a failed state operates. Compromise. |
The fellow should bring in BBC Panorama. They will come with an excavator. They can dig from one side of the earth to the other and bring out skeletons that were buried even before the Pharaohs of Egypt..... ![]() |
seunmsg:No one is asking you to choose. Just hold your choice accountable, that's all. Your business cannot employ a worker and expect another business to supervise him. You have given your principal so much loyalty. What is the qualitative service you are getting in return. That is how democracy works. It is not a one way street. It was the Labour party in the UK that removed a non performing Keir to protect the party and government. Some of the harshest critics of Trump in the US are fellow Republicans because they know the people will hold them personally responsible. And this reflects in the fact that when the US government/President underperforms the party suffers at the polls. |
