Politics › Re: PDP Govs Brand Fayose A Potential Future Leader by Reference(m): 5:56am On May 01, 2016
Look here, I don't believe lightning can strike twice but here we are. Is there any difference whatsoever between this man Fayose and the reflection in the politican mirror called Rotimi Amaechi. Apart from their origins I can't make out a hair's breadth of dissimilarity. They are both equally crude and vulgar, cunning and smart by half and are as politically relevant as 'Portharcourt' grass, no roots whatsoever. The latter may sound strange but whither 'potential leader' who cannot envision projecting his powers beyond his arc of budgetary influence is a mere joker. Let him start from the southwest and reach the beaches of Badagry just as we asked Amaechi to work his locquacious lips to the Cameroon mountains before we take them seriously. Future leader....abeg, its too early to laugh lest madness sets in.

Government does not create jobs.
Citizens do.
Just create an environment which will allow the creativity and knowledge of your citizens to shine.
You cannot make an entrepreneurs, inventors, manufacturers out of those who are not.
All government need to do is the the above, security, education( emphasis on technical education), health and infrastructure.
Yes, government spending can result in Job creation.
However those jobs are created in the process of tackling the problems above.
Good view.

Why can't you guys just get over the elections. Jonathan lost fair and square. The people felt it was time for him to go and it was done. I can't see how that choice fundamentally affects what is happening in the economy now.

stubborness pays in this country.
Every country in the world I know. You think Obama just strolled into the White House without blood being shed some 50, 60, 70 years ago and counting. Every kingdom suffers bouts of violence and its on record that it is the violent gets to f.u-c.k the prom queen. Is that not what the fulani herdsmen are doing, banging every where they go. The billionaires from Silicon valley are exploiting as many modern day slaves as their fore fathers who planted cotton in the south on the backs of black slaves they owned and the Mojave they slaughtered. To the brave belong the spoils. History is written by victors not cry babies. Zuckerberg na native American name. Tompolo wants to be a native 'aamerican' billionaire because if he won't the fulani herdsmen will soon be drilling oil in his yard and history will be written by them.....to the pleasure of the watching world. What is the fundamental difference betwen what is happening in Nigeria now and what happened in the Americas 400 years ago.

Hopeless waste of public funds by these so called leaders totally bereft of ideas. Then they go cap in hand for bailouts and blackmail the Federal government and the people they are supposed to serve. What is the gain of this rubbish if I may ask. Is this what a sane man does when he is broke.

Politics › Re: Ayade And Kuru Ride On Calabar Monorail by Reference(m): 1:51pm On Apr 28, 2016
Abagworo:
It depends on the parameters employed in the analysis. My point is not even comparing Rivers with Cross River. I came in defence of Amaechi who was falsely accused by one contributor. The Opobo link Road surpasses 90% of all projects in South South and it was done by Amaechi.
How much did that Opobo Road cost. That is what we are saying. Project delivery should be viewed in the context of resources available. Back to the monorail. If Cross-Rivers can deliver 3 kilometres, Rivers should be able to deliver 15 kilometres reaching at least Eleme Junction within approximatelqy the same time frame.
Politics › Re: Ayade And Kuru Ride On Calabar Monorail by Reference(m): 1:37pm On Apr 28, 2016
Abagworo:
Rivers monorail looks much more solid and demolitions were involved. This one cannot cost up to 25% of the one built by Amaechi. Politics made Amaechi's own not to be put to use but phase one which is longer than this Cross River monorail has long been completed.

Finally Amaechi did not blow any trumpet as you accuse him of. There was no billboard of Amaechi in Rivers State and he rarely did commissioning jamboree but yet he did more projects than all the Governors of his time.
25% abi. Why not compare revenues. Does Cross-River earn up to 25% of what Rivers gets. Does Cross-River have up to 25% of tax generating businesses and industries or populace. What about Federal or Multi-national presence. Can you drive a challenging 5 hrs anywhere on the highway in Rivers State. Cool down. Don't compare the two states at all. Cross-Rivers since the time of Duke has been punching far above its weight. The challenges it faces are just monumental. The only state capital I know serviced by a single lane highway and only one access. What they are robbed of and lack in resources they have more than made up in relatively good and stable leadership. I challenge any state to match it in the provision of rural water supply and now power infrastructure. You cannot compare any South-South state to Cross-River in the quality of human life pound for pound or should I say naira for naira.

1. Corruption is in our DNA. It is impossible to degrade it. Nigerians exploit all and every opportunity to profit from road blocks and red tape.
2. The bigger the government footprint, the bigger the opportunity for corruption. Any subsidy will be abused. Deregulation is the only option.
3. It is clear that the government's fiscal and exchange rate policy fuels corruption.
4. It is clear Mr. President is determined to continue where he left off in 1984. I will advise Nigerians dust up their history books and peruse them very carefully.
5. The NNPC is the biggest stumbling block to the nation's development and diversification of the economy.
6. No amount of will power of any individual leader can change the course of this country without fundamentally restructuring it and this will only happen with the express permission of the citizens of this country themselves.

Nuff said.

firstly, I sympathize with the families of the lost souls, may God almighty comfort them in this hard time.
I can see everybody descending on the police, you people couldn't even verify the story before crucifying them. I bet most of you abusing the police are the same set of people that crashed their recruitment website. The doctor insisted the accident wasn't caused by overspeeding, can he tell us what caused it? I ply this road every week and I'm telling you accident can only occur there due to overspeeding as it is a dualized road from abuja to kano.
Lastly, when we say the country is in total mess, the doctor dont get it I guessed. the same way doctors dont attend to emergency situations unless deposit are made is the samr way police treated them. the police might not have fuel in their vehicle, so was the doc expecting preferential treatment? all sectors need to be sanitized before we can attain greatness.

Stop making excuses. What is bad is bad. If you so love the police, this is not tne thread to express it.

No herd management system here. If you can pay, do so. No two States, LGA or even parastatal should be paying the same. Scrap the useless salary scale and make Head's act like CEO's.

And why has the budget not been implemented, Jonathan's fault also? It is now you guys understand that there are more problems besetting this country than the ones ordinarily seen. And that this country cannot move forward without restructuring. The rocket science he talked about is theory. What they face now is Nigeria in practice, a system that simply cannot work.

What are all those criticizing Fashola expecting? Do you really imagine that contractual and infrastructural problems of long-standing can be magically resolved by any minister in the space of a few months, especially when the minister doesn't even yet have an augmented budget to work with?

Anybody who expects Nigeria's power situation to drastically improve overnight is living in a dream world. Suppliers are still not free to set their tariffs at true market rates, pipeline vandalism is ongoing and will likely be worsened by Buhari's policies, and there is nothing Fashola can legally do to force the courts to hurry up and decide contractual disputes between fuel suppliers, the discos, the gencos and PHCN. The problem with power in Nigeria has nothing to do with engineering and everything to do with economics/politics.
Hahaha.....na now una know....what else have you guys discovered eh......slow, slow, slow Nigerians...

But realy, this is what should be happening like every other democracy in the world. It is all about negotiations around common interests. The Legislators are as much liable to the electorate as the Executive are and one grouping should not be played against the other by the same people who should benefit from the different approaches to governance. Take one classic example often cited, the town hall project or keke napep versus the coastal railway. In my opinion these are equally important. It is a matter of perspective. The railways for the trader/businessman, the keke for the man at home to create wealth. What is President Buhari's business with the man in the village?, likewise what is Honourable XYZ's business with a rail line going to Lagos or Portharcourt. There has to be understanding amongst both parties towards a negotiated solution.

Mind you it's most effective, especially in high rise/Mixed use building

For those saying individual room temperature cannot be achieved is a pure lie, each room can be zoned to operate on a different temperature
------------_----------
You don't design what a client cannot afford.. No thats a flop

Most Nigerian clients want it the normal way, they want the best but don't wanna spend the Cash..

Architecture/Engineering is a client that has money with an Engineer/Architect with vision
Then why not design a central conditioning system that the client can afford. Is that not proper 'architecture/engineering'. But the fact is that our people allow Samsung and LG decide how our homes are designed, engineered and operated. Who says both needs can't be met.
