cejeh: to be honest with you the column are too many, which shows your structural design is wrong. with the drawing am seeing you will waste a lot of money in vain. am a structural engineer and am telling you the truth. I also see that a lot these days, sometimes 5, 6 columns within a space less than 20 square meters in residential buildings than look as plain as a grade school students face. That's another sign of quackery, the fear of 'building collapse' leading to soup with too much salt. I can't remember the last time I saw a normal building being built in Nigeria. Either too poor or too wasteful. |

Mrpoker: You just quoted me out of ignorance. So who's happy about the attack on Military personel? I felt sad myself cause we have goof relation with the military; but that shouldn't result to hidding the truth. So why were the soldiers attacked in their sleep quite literally. Are they the pipelines that carry crude oil. Are they oil installations. |

Toks2008: He said he is willing to negotiate but it is highly insensitive for these militants tto tow that hideous lane....if they like let them steal billions of crude to enrich themselves but subjecting innocent Nigerians to perpectual suffering by blowing up pipelines is insane and that does not communicate negotiation but war. My friend, sabotàging pipelines in the delta is just that, sabotage. It is not war. War involves human to human contact. Sabotaging pipelines causes no deaths, war does. A junkie may be angry that his supply of crack is being sabotaged but it will only result in his suffering, not his death. In the quest to wean the Nigerian State off crude oil the militants and President Buhari are allies. Why are you complaining. |

Nigeria army can lie o! Early hour of Tuesday morning around 4 am suspected armed militants attacked JTF house boat with dynamite and killed many soldiers(not three as alleged by army spokesperson) the joint task force can't go after them cause there no attack gun boat(though there are two speed boats there, But they are all 75 horse powers) The militants proceed to lagos camp(no attack though they shot at air) then to akassa and vanished into brass creek. Nobody should ever take this army spokesperson serious. Any why should militants just attack and kill soldiers for no reason whatsoever. Is that not murder. Are you at war with the State. What is there to be happy about killing soldiers. What do you want to prove. |

This is not Jonathans era where billions of naira is paid monthly to militants. But the nation will still spend the billions on the military and security. With escalating conflict no one wins. Nigeria is in big, big trouble. The president is not getting good advice. He should negotiate now. |

greatgod2012: If you people actually read the story, the man didn't commit suicide because of his inability to buy his wife church uniform, but because he couldn't meet his obligations as the head of the house. He's depressed, ashamed and felt useless due to his unpaid salary. The hardship together with the shame was too big for him to bear, hence, the unspeakable thing he did.
But he shouldn't have done that, to every problem, there's surely an expiry date......he should have held on......hoping and praying....... things will get better. But this one he has done now, he has put his wife and children in shame and restlessness. Everyone will be thinking the woman put too much pressure on him. In fact, its terrible.
But truth be told, the hardship in this country presently is grade one raised to power five, it's only the very strong that can cope successfully. |

greatman247: Most disciplinarians and rich individuals can discipline other people children but they mostly failed to effectively discipline their own children and wards. Such a shame. This often happens to big pastors, police men, govt officials, judges, lawyers, doctors, scholars, executives, entrepreneurs, politicians, billionaires etc. This happens mostly because they fail to create time for their kids and family. Parenting has never been an easy vocation and will always be inverse to the heights of careers and aspirations. |

hedonistic: LOL. The way "market forces" have determined the price of diesel, right?
Look, if you're buying fuel at N120 now in PH, after deregulation, at some point you will buy it for N400. The downstream sector of the petroleum industry (especially the marketing arm) is not a free market. It is controlled by a cartel. The marketers ARE the cartel. They will conspire to hoard products periodically and raise the prices to astronomical levels.
Nigerian government lacks the capacity or even the will to ensure and enforce a truly free market in this sector. A government (DPR) that cannot sanction fuel marketers who sell above the regulated price or who illegally manipulate their fuel pumps to under dispense fuel, how can such a useless government ensure fair practice in a deregulated regime?
This will end up as a hot mess for the poor Nigerian. Mark my word. Abeg go sit down. With subsidy are there not cartels in DPR. Let them open up the market to all. Petrol is just another commodity ANYBODY can import. Deregulation means deregulation. |

I don't insult people but Nigerians deserve every insult they get. Slow, dull, ignorant people. Now that fuel had gone where it should go let me see any idiot talking about supporting the Naira. Wasted years and trillions trying to control petrol you do not produce, causing people to buy petrol at exhorbitant prices thus pauperizing them just to prove a point then caving in when they are economically wasted. I tell you, we deserve the kind of government we get, stupid people. |

whirlwind7: Now that you have commented, kindly go back to read the post, and perhaps, modify what you typed. That he was arrested in Kogi state doesn't make him Igala. These Fulani guys are nomads. They are from everywhere and nowhere. the guy in question admitted he was born and raised in Enugu, but that doesn't make him Igbo. He doesn't see himself as such. If Nigeria was a real country, he should be regarded as "nwanne" by now. But we all know that such concept is almost impossible because there is no real unity, no genuine foundation to this absurd marriage of strange bedfellows called Nigeria.
For those who kept saying that the attackers are not Fulani, the 19 northern governors and their laptop soldiers on NL, the rest of us have been vindicated. We don't need any oracle to tell us what we already know. Even if all herdsmen are not Fulani, most of them are. And it's usually the Fulanis who fulfills their sexual fantasies by butchering helpless rural folks. They have been doing so for centuries, and no amount of image laundering can wipe that away from our collective consciousness.
Accept them in your midst at your own peril. When I say structure is the biggest problem Nigeria faces people think it is a joke. This country has no future. Look at the destruction happening north, east and south over....nothing except the facts of tribe and sect. This country is just hopeless. |
