jceesquare: Since you've narrowed the fault down to the oxygen sensor and several replacement didn't resolve the code, I'd still suggest you use a better professional scanner to pull out live reading from your MAF sensor, MAP sensor, and upstream O² sensor. Compare values with manufacturers specs to be sure they're functional. Those 3 sensors work together to give you a balanced fuel to air ratio. Your oxygen sensor might be good actually. Ask your rewire to back probe the wires to the ECM and ensure there's continuity all the way. Also ask your rewire to use his multimeter to test the ohms reading on the sensor as well. You might also want to check all your fuses 1st before tampering with anything. Update, my Rewire traced the wire and said it was okay, he said he would have to flash and reconfigure the brainbox if it fails I might have to change the brain box because it might be damaged. Update: They said they flashed the ECU and the same issue persists. I just weak.. |

jceesquare: run a livescan and take a screenshot of the sensor and O2 sensors I also have screenshots from torque. Those screenshots are from this morning while on idle. It goes from open loop due to insufficient temp to open loop due to system failure. From my little research, since the O2 sensor isn't actively showing readings, it should be an issue with the sensor. But, we've tried several sensors. Could it be the wiring, a few days ago, I had an issue where my car didn't start and it was raining. The fuel pump wasn't supplied voltage, so an electrical guy nearby fixed it. Could it be that he somehow tampered with my O2 connection to the ecm? |

Hello guys, help me before I ment. My car honda accord 2003 Euro threw the P2195 code, air fuel ratio sensor signal stuck lean and it started gulping fuel because it is now on open loop. at first I tried to change the sensor and we tested more than 5 sensors same code. We always Clear before scanning.
I have fixed my exhaust leak, it was welded and the cone was changed. I tried to use carb cleaner to spray the engine for air leaks but nothing, no sudden rev while spraying.
I'm stressed out, we've been on this for 2 days now. Today, we've also tried 3 other sensors.
I am pretty sure this is not a sensor issue anymore.
What else could this be? Any insights or help would be appreciated.
Could it be an electrical issue?
I am lost at this point.. |

nurey: Net inside CAT is a disaster waiting to happen Thanks nurey, my 02 sensor was disconnected, I just reconnected it. So the cat container been empty has no impact on fuel consumption right?? |
Car Talk › Re: Maintenance Tips On Cars. by remi4ever(m): 1:05pm On Oct 05, 2023 |
nurey: As long as you don't have p1157, p0410 and p0420 codes you should be fine
P1157 is your upstream sensor the first sensor by the exhaust pipe also known as A/F sensor.
P0410 can be fixed by changing the downstream sensor, that is called oxygen sensor the one bolted on the catalyst.
P0420 can be solved easily by buying a 02 spacer and bolting it to the straight pipe used to replace the catalyst then you bolt the downstream sensor to the spacer. Your fuel economy should improve Thank You. You did not talk about the net inside the Cat Converter. |
Car Talk › Re: Maintenance Tips On Cars. by remi4ever(m): 7:19am On Oct 05, 2023 |
Quick question Guys, if the catalyst converter container is empty does this affect fuel consumption?
My fuel consumption was fine after fixing the upstream o2 sensor on my honda accord 2.4l engine. I was averaging 75m which is about 120km on 16ltrs of fuel, mostly city driving, but a bit of highway.
A panel beater stuffed the cat container with thick net and I felt it was choking my engine, so I had it removed, since then my fuel economy has dropped to average 63miles. Should I have it fixed back? I'm not really intrested in getting a cat converter.
PS: I only have the o2 sensor S2B1 code. |

LandoKingz: Car gurus please help I recently noticed my break fluid is going on a daily based after I top it thenest day it will drup like 2cm from the max point I have checked all the for legs to find leaks have not seen and break is work well on slow and speed I don't know the cause of the hydraulic reduction I have used two cans in 2weeks I need advice car Toyota matrix 04. .. Check Everything: Take a peek at your brake lines, master cylinder, brake calipers, wheel cylinders, and hoses. Look for any wet spots or signs of fluid. Cap It Tight: Make sure the brake fluid reservoir cap is snugly sealed. A loose cap can lead to moisture getting in and fluid loss. Brake Pad Bonus: While you're at it, give your brake pads and rotors a glance. Worn-out pads can strain your braking system. Get a Pro Opinion: If you can't spot the leak or you're not sure what's going on, don't hesitate to get a mechanic to check it out. Brake fluid is vital for safety, and driving with a leak can be risky. |

jceesquare: So many factors can be responsible for the LTFT value as the computer relies on several feedbacks from various sensors to keep the car running at the perfect ratio. You might want to look at the airflow sensor and oxygen sensors readings on live scan then compare values with manufactures specs to know if anything is off. I have been looking for that manual.. I have the main manual is that where the values are? |
Car Talk › Re: Maintenance Tips On Cars. by remi4ever(m): 7:39pm On Sep 02, 2023 |
nurey: No diagnosis for that, I don't understand not too smoth braking.
Either the brake sends a feedback or pedal vibrates when you press or
Brakeing causes vehicle to swerve to one side explain further The swerving is what best describes my situation.. Although, it doesn't swerve per se.. I just feel like the tires are not in agreement.. 🤣 It's hard to explain. Meanwhile, after fixing a toks O2 sensor.. How long before the ecu adjusts? Although my fuel consumption is balance now.. But I still get a negative LTFT reading.. About -6.7 for a 20km trip. Secondly, when my front exhaust was leaking, the panel stuffed some net inside where my cat converter should. I want to ask him to remove it.. I feel its choking my engine.. No vex say my story plenty.. As I get your attention like this, I won utilise am well. |

Also, my braking isn't smooth most especially around u turns. I changed my back engine mount, and every other mount seems fine. |

fbtowner: Good morning Guys and thanks for all you are doing.
Please I bought a 4plug accord 2008 in June from a dealer, I want to change the engine oil now as it’s short, I didn’t get any recommendations from the dealer as he just bought and kept from the last user I guess
My mechanic is recommending hardex gold. But it’s too expensive oo, please which other one can I use or must it be hardex gold.
Also, is it advisable to change bad o2 sensor when cat converter is not present? I would suggest you change your upstream sensor. My car's mileage has increased since yesterday when i changed my upstream sensor. As for your oil, try to get original mobil1 , it is expensive but good value for your money. ps: I do not have a cat converter. |

I do not have a cat converter, I also have a bad downstream sensor.

I joined the company in January as a Backend developer and have been consistently delivering tasks efficiently. I am often regarded as the fastest and most efficient developer the company has had. However, since the increase in fuel prices, there hasn't been any bonus increment. Despite frequently having little to do at the office, I'm still expected to be present every day. Interestingly, when I work from home, I maintain the same level of productivity and accuracy.
I discussed the possibility of remote work with the HR, but they mentioned that it's not as simple as I perceive. Due to these circumstances, I am considering submitting my resignation in two months, allowing the company sufficient time to find a replacement. During this period, I plan to create comprehensive documentation for all the projects I've completed. |

Sequel to my previous post, I realised that I had a small leak at the front of my exhaust. I got it fixed and here is the obd reading from my first trip. Average is 10.53l/100km
The second screenshot was taken after my round trip to the airport and back.
Suprisingly, my fuel guage says otherwise.. 10k fuel that I bought yesterday for this experiment is almost finished.
Bought it at NNPC, 16. Litres..

mikekobe01: Your fuel consumption is calculated in millage per gallon. As a rule of thumb, 4ltrs - 1gallon.
So if you bought say 16ltrs of fuel, that's 4gallon.
What I do is reset either trip A or B on my odometer view board.
So if you drive say 70 miles on a 4-gallon fuel.
That means your fuel consumption is 70/4 - 17.5mpg (this is okay)
Also note that 1mile is equivalent to 1.6km
Thanks. Thank you for your input. |
