PoliticsRe: Happy Birthday General Muhammadu Buhari by Remii(m): 8:49am On Dec 18, 2010
murtalaa:
Able general. The chadians got a taste of his bile when they got greedy.

In 1983 Chadian soldiers invaded and took 19 islands in Lake Chad within Nigerian territory. The then Brigadier Buhari, who was the General Officer Commanding commanding the 3rd Armoured Division (which he did from November 1981 - December 1983) successfully carried out a blockade of Chad. After which all the territories were returned. The Nigerian Army under Buhari then pursued the Chadian Army as far as 50 km into Chadian territory.

I doff my woodland khaki hat to you sir! May God give you the gift of serving your dear county, again. Happy birthday.
Yea, and he did all that even before talking to Shagari, who was the C- in C.

FYI, Buhari's present wife, after the death of the first one is a born again christian, that should send a message to all those who think he is a religious fanatic, the guy is just blunt

Happy Birthday General.

OP. ideas inthat book and other similar books, like, 7 Habbits, Eat that frog, etc, work very well, I wished I had read tjem 20yrs ago. However, reading and applying some of the principles now have been very helpful. I will urge you not to look for quick fix and be prepared to make sacrifices to achieve goals.

I bet he does not have, same way he did not have one in 1988, when he wondered why students would complain of fuel price increase since they did not have cars, lol.

That is the problem with Nigerian leaders, shallow minds. He did not see anything bad in collecting "armed robbers salary" for doing almost nothing, yet he was complaning that the MM airport was an embarrassment. This same David Mark, in 1988 could not see why students should complain for fuel price increase since they did not own cars, lol

If you want to use money as prime criteria you may never marry. I know people who make N500k per month but not married because they want to achieve this and that.

Get together with your wife and plan how to survive on your income, she should be doing something too to support the family. Two of you would continue to pray together and soonerr than you expect your fortune would turn for the better. Best of luck

Police: Man dies after punch by Burger King worker
By DAVID RUNK, Associated Press David Runk, Associated Press
30 mins ago

.DETROIT – A 20-year-old Burger King employee who was arguing with a customer in a crowded fast food restaurant punched the 67-year-old man, who fell and later died, police said Friday.

The punch may have caused the older man to choke on his dentures, WJBK-TV reported.

Police said the customer was reportedly causing a disturbance Thursday afternoon at the restaurant on the city's east side and tried to hit the worker, who swung back.

"A verbal argument occurred," police Sgt. Eren Stephens told The Associated Press. "It escalated into a physical altercation."

Jerome Perdu, 59, of Detroit, works as a security guard nearby and said he was at the restaurant at the time. He said he didn't see the customer get hit, but watched as paramedics tried to revive him. The restaurant was crowded at the time, he said.

"I just seen him lying on the floor," Perdu said. "EMS was pumping him."

The man was taken to a hospital, where he later died. An autopsy expected to be conducted Friday was to determine the cause of death.

The employee was being held Friday and could face criminal charges. Stephens said that once the investigation is complete, the details will be submitted to the Wayne County prosecutor's office for review.

Around midday Friday, a sign on the restaurant's door indicated that only the drive-thru was open, and a steady stream of customers pulled into the parking lot. A manager who opened the locked door said any comment would come from the fast food company.

Denise Wilson, a spokeswoman for Miami-based Burger King, said Friday that company officials were aware of the incident and the franchise owner was cooperating with police.

Tukur is a joker.

Did the lawmakers employ themselves?

Who approved their salaries?
They are employed by their respective constituencies through election
They appropriate and approve their own salaries and allowances.
GEJ once said on national tv that he could not regulate their pay since they are legislatures and he is an executive, so by rule of separation of powers, he could only appeal to them on personal grounds.
The fact is the Nigerian federal legislatures are have become some sort of "Ogonis" in the Old Oyo Empire, "above the law".
