A Croatian player, Nikola Kalinic will be full of regrets as he is going to miss the Russia 2018 world cup final which Croatia will be playing against France on Sunday.

Nikola Kalinic was sent home right from the team’s first game at the world cup cup due to pride. After he was told by the coach to come on as a substitute 5 miniutes to the end of the game against Nigeria, Kalinic refused. He was the second top striker after Mario Mandzukic depended on by the Croatians.

After the game, Kalinic refused to apologize to the coach despite pleas from other coaching staff for him to do so. That led to him getting sent home.

Away from the team, he shared pictures showing him having a nice time, as it appeared he thought the team could never make it far in the tournament.

Fortunately for the team, they are now in the first ever final since reaching the France 98 semifinals. That alone has written their names in the hearts of every Croatian.

Maurizio Sarri is the new Chelsea head coach. He moves to Stamford Bridge following a successful three-year spell at Serie A side Napoli.


In his three years at the helm, Napoli recorded two second-place finishes in their domestic league, including last season when they achieved a record points total for a runner-up, and one third place. In 2017, he won the Serie A Coach of the Year award.


Sarri, who has signed a three-year contract, said: ‘I am very happy to be coming to Chelsea and the Premier League. It is an exciting new period in my career.

Antonio Conte has reportedly been sacked as Chelsea manager, according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio on Twitter.


Conte’s future has been the subject of much speculation for some time now, and it looks as though the former Juventus boss has now been dismissed at Stamford Bridge.


At the time of writing, Chelsea are yet to make any official announcement on Conte’s position.

DJ Khaled has pulled out of his headline slot on the final night of Wireless Festival due to "travel issues".

The American record producer was scheduled to take to the Main Stage at the Finsbury Park festival on Sunday at 8.50pm, but organisers have now promised something "special" in his absence.

An up-and-coming artiste, Analike Okezie, who is known with the stage name Yoko B, has accused popular singer, 2baba of stealing his song, Amaka.

2baba recently released the song titled, Amaka in which he singer sang about a certain Amaka who disappointed him after promising him that she would come to his house. On the song featuring DMW’s Peruzzi, the singer narrated how he had made arrangements such as buying diesel and alcohol, only for the girl to fail to turn up.

Meanwhile, in Yoko B’s version, the singer also sang about how Amaka broke his heart after she claimed to love him. The beat of the two songs also sound similar.

In a chat with Sunday Scoop, Yoko B said, “Right now, I am fed up with some of the top artistes in this country. Once they are up there, they can never help you grow. They prefer to rip you off and frustrate your hustle. The new song, Amaka, by 2baba featuring Peruzzi is my concept. The song was produced by Richie, who also did the chorus of the song.

“Shortly after producing my song, Richie was employed by Larry Gaga and he left FESTAC Town for Lekki where he worked with 2baba. My songs were still on his computer at that point. I was shocked when I discovered that they had ‘stolen’ the title, concept and message of my song. I released my version about five months ago and I have been trying to promote it with the little resources I have.

“I was already negotiating with Avalon Okpe to direct the video when 2baba released his version. I feel bad that they cheated me because I am an up-and-coming artiste. I want the world to know what has been done to me.”

On whether he had made his grievances known to Richie personally, Yoko B said, “Yes, I complained to him but he didn’t say anything reasonable. He said anybody can come up with the title, Amaka. But I wonder why the concept and instrumental of the songs are so similar if something isn’t fishy. I am sure that somehow, 2baba must have heard the song. To cover their tracks, 2baba’s version was produced by another pro2face Idibia Stole My Song - Fast Rising Act, Yoko Bducer, Sperochbeatz, but they all work in the same studio.”

According to Sunday Scoop, when Richie was contacted, a person who claimed to be his manager answered the call and threatened that the story should not be published. He said, “The guy (Yoko B) is just looking for cheap fame. I am Richie’s manager and I know about the whole story. We really don’t have anything to say concerning the matter. He should go anywhere in the world concerning the issue. For your own good, I would advise you not to publish the story. I don’t know if Yoko B has the power to finish what he has started.”

When contacted, 2baba’s manager, Efe Omoregbe, stated that he was unaware of the allegation. He said, “This is the first time I’m hearing about that claim and I cannot comment on what I don’t know about.”

Since singer and producer, OJB Jezreel, passed on in 2016 following a battle with a kidney ailment, there have been reports that the family members are at war over the deceased’s property in Surulere, Lagos.

According to reports from Saturday Beats, “This House is Not for Sale” was boldly written on the gate of the house of the late music producter. The house is a four-bedroom bungalow, a duplex and a shop.

Speaking with Saturday Beats, OJB’s third and youngest wife, Korede, said she was not after the house and knew little about the tussle for ownership.

She stated, “The property in Surulere, Lagos, is still an issue because OJB’s family members want to take it from the wives and children. The first wife lives and has a shop there. I don’t really know much about OJB’s property and I am not after that. I don’t even pay attention to what is happening to the property.

“We are married to Jigga (OJB) and since Jigga is gone, everyone has to move on in their own ways. We don’t talk as much as we should and I don’t think it is a problem since what brings us together is not there any longer.”

Speaking on OJB’s two-year remembrance last month, she said they couldn’t do anything for him this year as there was no assistance.

Korede said, “We didn’t do anything this year for his remembrance but we did last year. I sold my car last year to give him a befitting one-year anniversary. I did that to keep his legacy and it is not supposed to be a monetary event. But I cannot do everything by myself and all his royalties have not been paid as most of those who are meant to pay his royalties have refused to pay. We are just managing and you cannot expect me to use the money to feed my children to hold an event. Apart from Mr. Dele Momodu and DJ Stramborella, none of OJB’s friends in the industry checks on us anymore. The industry needs to show some support. Jigga is not just our husband; he was everybody’s friend before his illness and death. If the industry could come up with a plan to celebrate him yearly, the family will key into it. The truth is I cannot do everything by myself.”

She, however, said despite her young age, she had no plans to remarry anytime soon. “Right now, I am focusing on my kids. They are still young. My first child, a boy, is 10 years old while my daughter is five, ” she said.

Germany team boss Oliver Bierhoff has said Mesut Ozil should have been dropped over a pre-tournament scandal involving Turkey president Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Ozil, 29, is one of a group of senior players slammed for woeful performances in Russia as Germany finished bottom of their group to suffer a shock early exit.

At the World Cup, the Arsenal midfielder refused to comment about a controversial meeting on the eve of the finals with Erdogan which sparked questions about his loyalty to Germany.

Bierhoff admits it was a mistake to allow Ozil to stay silent as the controversy cast a shadow over the German camp.

“We have never compelled players in the German national team to do something, but always tried to convince them when it comes to certain things,” Bierhoff, Germany’s team director, told Friday’s edition of Die Welt newspaper.

“We did not succeed with Mesut. And in that respect one would have had to consider whether to refrain from playing him.”

Ozil and Ilkay Gundogan, who both have Turkish roots, were booed by German fans in pre-World cup friendlies after posing for pictures with Erdogan. Manchester City midfielder Gundogan presented him with a signed club shirt on which he had written “to my president”.

Gundogan denied the meeting was politically motivated, but Ozil refused to comment and was the only member of the 23-man squad allowed to miss a media day at Germany’s pre-World Cup camp.

Bierhoff says he and head coach Joachim Loew should have seriously considered leaving Ozil out of the final squad for Russia.

“They fact that Mesut and Ilkay took the pictures did not bother the team so much, but the debate went on and, in retrospect, I would have tried to deal with this issue more decisively,” admitted Bierhoff.

Ozil was slammed on social media for woeful World Cup displays in the shock group stage defeats to Mexico and South Korea having been dropped for the last-gasp win over Sweden.

Bierhoff says Ozil’s silence was an issue “especially as we did not present ourselves as a team — the energy that always made us strong was not there”.

Ozil, who has made 92 appearances for Germany, could be one of a number of 2014 World Cup winners who have played their last international.

On Tuesday, Loew confirmed that he will remain as Germany’s head coach.

Bierhoff, who is effectively the number two in the Germany setup, anticipates “profound changes” after the dismal campaign in Russia for which he said the entire squad should take “collective responsibility”.

“The things which contributed to a 14-year successful track record must not simply be ignored, but it is clear that we need to put everything to the test, both personally and structurally,” he added.

Bierhoff says Germany’s management know they “gambled away credit” and have “registered” that fans feel alienated from the team. He said the team management take that feeling of alienation “very seriously”.

Bierhoff says Loew will “sort out and reorganise everything. He will question everything, including our style of play. And then the question will arise as to which players we need.”

Cristiano Ronaldo’s rumoured switch to Juventus has gathered pace after a photo surfaced of a black and white shirt with his name on the back.



Real Madrid are considering an £88m bidfrom the Italian champions and former sporting director at the Turin-based club Luciano Moggi claims the deal has already been completed.



The photo shows a No.7 Juventus shirt, suggesting CR7 would retain his famous number at the expense of Juan Cuadroado, who wore it last season.

Actress Wumi Toriola was in the eye of the storm recently when she uploaded a video online in which she attacked Toyin Abraham for saying that getting married and buying a car were not achievements.
Recall that Toriola had recently got married and bought a car. However, she has since apologised to Abraham.


In a chat with Sunday Scoop, Toriola revealed what initially led to a thaw in their once cosy relationship.


She said, “After we shot Alakada Reloaded, we were in a hotel room and she slapped me. I was very angry and I would have hit her back if not that I loved her. After she slapped me, I walked out and went to another room. The following day, I expected her to apologise to me but she just told me to bring her belongings in my car. Fred has completed his transfer from Shakhtar Donetsk to Manchester United after passing his medical, the midfielder agreeing a five-year contract at Old Trafford.

United confirmed they had reached an agreement with Shakhtar for the services of the Brazil international on June 5, with the deal reportedly worth £52million.

Two weeks later the 25-year-old has put pen to paper on a contract that will run until 2023, with the option to extend for a further year.

Arsenal FC have officially released Jack Wilshere. The English international contract has expired and he has decided to seek for opportunities elsewhere where, the club confirmed.

Jack made his Arsenal debut in September 2008 aged 16 and 256 days in a Premier League win over Blackburn Rovers.
Jack was named PFA Young Player of the Year in 2010/11 and also earned a place in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year that season.

John Obi Mikel insists Nigeria must 'go back to the drawing board' following their 2-0 World Cup defeat to Croatia, but still harbours hopes the Super Eagles can progress from Group D.

An own-goal from Oghenekaro Etebo and a penalty from Luka Modric secured the points for Croatia from a turgid contest in Kaliningrad on Saturday, without Nigeria ever looking likely of mounting a comeback.

And former Chelsea midfielder Mikel, who captains Gernot Rohr's side, acknowledged Nigeria must improve ahead of their clash with Iceland on Friday.

"We have to play better. I think we can play better, we can do better," Mikel told reporters.

"It's difficult to say I think. We have to go back to the drawing board and see what we can do better, together as a team.

"It's not easy playing against these fantastic players, European players, they can hurt you in any given time. We know that, but we have to do better."

Mikel is confident that progression from Group D is still possible, citing that Argentina's unexpected draw with Iceland has provided the Super Eagles with a lifeline.

"Why not? We believe. That's why we're here," the skipper added.

"That's why we came here. We have two more games to play. Argentina drew today so I think this is a bit better for us.

"Next game, we have to go and try to win the game. If we do that, we're back in it again."

Yesterday, as the FIFA World Cup 2018 opened in Russia, something interesting happened, a dog predicted that Russia would win, which they did by trashing their Saudi Arabian opponents 5 goals to nil!


This is not the first time an animal has correctly predicted the winners and losers of world cup matches. Paul the Octopus was a common octopus which was purportedly used to predict the results of association football matches. Accurate predictions in the 2010 World Cup brought him worldwide attention as an animal oracle.

Octopus Paul died in 2010, but it looks like this puppy is likely to repeat the feat with yesterday’s correct predictions.
