This is 'Ina ran' originally produced by Haruna Ishola but now funkisized by Zainab, unfortunately I can't get the old version, but the mixed version is also awesome. Enjoy the romance in deep yoruba song

seedord247:

what about people like Ayinla Omowura and Yusuf Olatunji are their song not romantic.

Sure this guys even though old school actually reigned in their time with the kind of romantic flavour they could invent.

Religion / Re: Ever Had Or Heard Of Near Death Experince(nde)? by richylaw(m): 5:11pm On Mar 20, 2009
At your request I will narrate the story as it had happened to my immediate elder brother, however, I will implore all readers to see this as an individual experience to my family, hence depicting how strong we may believe if the subject topic exists or not. Like I pointed out in my earlier post, this could be well fictitious, hallucination or yet true, It all depends on an individual mind deepness, psychological orientation, and philosophic acceptability of metaphysical or supernatural occurrence. As for me, I do not dispute the possibility but then, it could even be a dream except for some extra ordinary issues that may be attached at times, as in the case below.
In the case of my elder brother who was in comma for close to two days and was later certified dead. He claimed he saw himself going along a clean straight route with the other guy who sat beside him in the car before the accident. At a point they found themselves at a 'T' junction. It was quite tempting to follow the same path as the other guy decided to start dancing to an irresistible choral rendition coming from nowhere, but as my brother made the attempt he realised that two people were pulling him to follow the other path and so he agreed and left his partner to go the other way. He later realised that the two people that pulled him were our paternal grandparents who had long died. They took him the opposite side, to a street where he saw mansions, castles and even smaller houses, he was finally shown a plot with a foundation on it and he was told that was his house yet unfinished, he claimed to have begged this two elderly ones to share their mansion with them pending the completion of his own, but they refused and made him realised that the building can never be completed while he was with them and that may mean sleeping in sun and rain for eternity! He further claimed to have turned deaf hears to them, this made them to get long canes like that of the Yoruba masquerades popularly referred to as 'atorin' and was beaten to ‘life’ ( this was confirmed as he actually shouted and began struggling aggressively for breath just distance to the entrance to the morgue at UCH Ibadan.
On another note the partner died immediately the accident happened at Iyaganku area of Ibadan, at midnight, around 12.00 am. My aunty who happened to be the first family contact to be at UCH got there around 11.00 am in the morning after the news of the accident was broken to her. Guess by whom? The other passenger in the car with him (who also was a relative), whose body had been deposited into the morgue since the early hours of the day! My aunty claimed that this relative came to her around 9.00am while the environmental sanitation was going on and told her he had an accident with my brother and that my brother had been in comma but he was lucky to have only a little scratch at the back of his ear and that was why he could leave the hospital to come and break the news at home. He emphasized on the need for my aunty to rush down to UCH to render whatever assistance to my brother. By the time she went into her room and came out she didn’t see him again but she believed that could have been that the guy is worried and had rushed to tell other relatives. Her greatest shock was at UCH at 11.00am; when she realised that the acclaimed unhurt relative victim who came to break the news was in the morgue! In a confusing affirmative request the body was brought out cold on the morgue corpse tray. There was not a single fracture or wound on the corpse except for the scratch at the back of his ear, which the restless spirit had earlier shown her at home.
( My claims of the accident may be verified at the Iyaganku police Station, as the fence of this very police station was what the Tipper truck rammed my brothers white Peugeot saloon car into at 12.00am and no one came to their rescue until morning around 9.00am of December 12,1992 when the policemen on morning duty took the initially two lifeless body and two breathing but heavily wounded ladies to UCH, otherwise no one would have done that as there was the Environmental Sanitation going on)
I rest my case
Religion / Re: Curse Of The First Born by richylaw(m): 2:35pm On Mar 20, 2009
If taking responsibilies in the family to care for the younger ones is a curse, then your assumption may be right, however the last time I checked no child is cursed by God. Parents may curse their God given child but not God
Religion / Re: Ever Had Or Heard Of Near Death Experince(nde)? by richylaw(m): 11:18am On Mar 18, 2009
Absolutely there are tons of such experiences recounted by witnesses or victim. My elder brother once gave such an account after a motor accident in which the other passenger with him died and he was in a comma. But the truth of the matter is this: it is either allucination which affects the state of the brain, like dreams does or a mystery yet unravel about the existence of God.
Politics / Re: Politics Vs. Olympics by richylaw(m): 5:44pm On Aug 26, 2008
Is this all about religion alone? no way, the last time I checked Idowu Philips, Marylyn Okoro, Ohurougu, Obikwelu, Jade, Funmilayo, ?? and a host of others were actually Nigerians who naturalised to other nations and came to represent these countries in olympics. Further from my observation the following nations fielded nigerians in the olympics: United Kingdom, United States, Qatar and Portugal. Some did well while some fell out.
The question: when we had the opportunity to manage these athletes did we, we only notice them when other nations snatch them from us and invest in them.
It's all about none chalants , like a poster refered , the base training ground for sport are no more , when 4 bedroom flats now turns to secondary school, to worsen it the federal government has nothing to give to or promote sports.

shame to bad people/3x
Naija do qualify well o
qualify well o

Go for gold young eagles!!!

I remember at the begining when bad mouths under rated all the chosen players, criticized Siasia and even used the dutch players to defeat us while we have not played, now this is what we call soccer. It is not about name alone but a team work with determination and focus.

Sports / Re: Beijing 2008 Olympics, Opening Ceremony by richylaw(m): 9:47am On Aug 13, 2008
All well said, I must confess how much I was taken off my feet on seeing the spectacular performances at the Beijing Olympics opening ceremony. Without doubt it's being the best and completely culture rich opening ceremony in the history of Olympic Games, however I will say that in my general opinion, talking in terms of innovation of torch lighting, Barcelona,Sydney and now Beijing stands to be analyzed, if we want to refer to unimaginable stunts, the barcelona archer stunts was incredible, however if we want to refer to technology complexity so far in the history of Olympics I will say a big kudos to the Australian cauldron lit by Freeman, Beijing has mixed some man power gymnastics display with some rotoscopic creativity to light her touch. IMHO, I will still say Sydney touch lighting is still the most complex and acclaimed. However in general assesment of the ceremony as a whole Beijing has really set a land mark, it is apparently the best so far. And it is clear that Britain of today can not match up unless they change for good tommorow

Fashion / Re: What's Wrong With Waist Beads And Chains? by richylaw(m): 3:07pm On Jun 12, 2008
The use of waist beads as rightly pointed out may be for fashion, traditional societal attributes or for other fetish reasons and it should be noted that the usages had been in existence since the beginning of culture among most Nigerian tribe. Some call it jigida, some call it bebe, some call it esuru while others will say ‘ileke idi’. It is seen as a symbolic element of maturity in ladies in terms of fashion while royal families and so many tribal families of the Yoruba side of Nigeria use it as well to display prowess and gender dignity. Therefore the idea that waist band is not a Nigerian tribal culture should be esponged.
For a man with an observant sight , you don’t need to see the beads before you know it is there and believe me or not it has both psychological and physical impact on the user and the observer. I will not shy away from the fact that parents or certain ladies use some of these beads for fetish reasons, this ranges from , gateman strategy grin, forceful vegetable position grin, specimen bank grin or an antidote for ‘magun’ grin (for those who believe in its existence).  However the fashion side of waist bead is very rampart in every part of the world and the local precious stone types we are used to in Nigeria is now fast metamophorsizing into 18 carat gold jewellery snaking alluringly  on the coastal line of the waist.
If this throws me off my legs for a lady why won’t I encourage it  with my wife.
The use of waist chain is defined by the owner. The observer when patient enough will be able to discern what it’s meant for. As for me , I do love it and I even buy it as gifts for my lady friends.
KEEP A FREE MIND TO HAVE A FREE WORLD.
