united's squad is miles better than arsenal or man city. if arsenal lose 8 senior defenders, what will they play in their defence? man utd managed it last season and they lost the title by a single point. chelsea haven't lost 8 defenders this season and they have not won a premier league match since first week in november.
And who did United play in their defence? Fletcher & Carrick that got spanked 3-0 by Fulham? cheesy

you have also managed to leave hargreaves out of your line-ups.
How good would Hargo be when if he returns? cheesy
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (R.I.P Bawomolo). by ritchboy(m): 12:43pm On Dec 23, 2010
there's no squad like united's in the whole of europe when everyone is fit.
Story. . . In England alone, is United's squad better than Arsenal or Man City for that matter? I never enter the rest of Europe sef. . .

after united, i will pick tottenham hotspurs. arsenal is 3rd on the list only because chelsea have lost their marbles.
Fabianski

Alex Song is going to continue fouling and getting yellows and sent off
Debosky don come again with hin crazy analysis grin grin grin

Song has only been sent off once in his entire career. And for a DM he doesnt get booked often(even Cesc & Chamakh have more bookings than him).

@Debosky

Do you agree with me when I say Arsenal has the best squad in the league??
Apart from say probably Spurs??
SPURS! shocked shocked shocked

Eldee thinks Spurs "probably" have the best squad in the league! grin grin grin

eldee:
Right now Wilshere is an EPL level player . . . infact our bench is way better than Chelsea and Man Utd.
I don't really see the need for him to change much, prolly just address the GK situation and end of.
Chelsea, perhaps. United? That's a closer call. Assuming everyone is fit:

Arsenal:

Fabianski
Koscielny
Eboue
Wilshere
Rosicky
Walcott
Chamakh

Bentdner, Vela, Denilson, Ramsey, probably wont make the bench.

United:

Kit Kat
Brown
O'Shea
Scholes
Park
Giggs
Owen

Hernandez, Anderson, dont make the bench, Fergie rotates a lot so on another day it could easily change. Hargreaves is still alive!

Chelsea:

Turnbull
Bosingwa
Zhirkov
McEachran
Benayoun
Sturridge
Kalou

No notable absentees grin grin For all the talk about how wack Chelsea's bench has become, they can still name one that decent if everyone was fit. . . Thing is everyone would never be fit!

Now you were saying something about Spurs? cheesy

evra is the best full-back in the league defensively
I hear you!

did albrighton really reduce evra's valuation? i can't remember him doing anything of note against united.
Really? In the first half hour alone, Albrighton turned Evra inside out like dirty laundry one million and one times grin grin

If Nani and Evra play on opposite sides, Evra will probably die at d end of d game cos he never stays in one place! Space or no space, Nanis pace and skillz will be too much for him
You dey mind Cougar? After Albrighton reduced Evra's valuation by $8m, surely he wouldnt relish the prospect of facing an even more skilled player grin grin

b) i am sure nani will be shackled against evra cos evra won't underestimate him like arsenal defenders do against nani.
No be the same Cougar talk say "there's no defender in the premier league capable of shackling nani."? cheesy

Or were you trying to say "no opposing defender", which would make Evra the best full back in the league defensively? cheesy

so why can't arsenal copy that blueprint and stop exposing themselves to counter-attacks?

a) why afford united the space knowing what united are capable of doing? this isn't rocket science, is it?
Shey i resemble Arsene Wenger? cheesy

Anyway, we seem to be in agreement that individual brilliance aside, a lot of it has to do with tactics as well. Afterall Messi was "shackled" by a disciplined Inter side.

My work here is done.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: In Fergie We Trust! by ritchboy(m): 2:19pm On Dec 22, 2010
which walcott? theo walcott? evra is his antidote. once walcott sees evra, the 110 yards of space on the pitch becomes 0.5 yard for walcott. i don't know about other defenders but walcott has never had a good game against evra in 4 seasons.
Because Fergie will never give Walcott 50 yards between the back line and the goalie. . .

how come clichy can't shackle nani but evra can shackle walcott?
Because:

A. Arsenal always afford United more space than United do Arsenal.

B. Nani is a much better player than Walcott. . . If ordinary Albrighton dey disgrace Evra anyhow, i can only imagine what Nani would do to him.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: In Fergie We Trust! by ritchboy(m): 1:57pm On Dec 22, 2010
there's no defender in the premier league capable of shackling nani. simply put, nani has disgraced all the full-backs he's played against!
Outside the league nko? cheesy

This your Nani thing is spiraling out of control. Nani had far more space to do his thing than Nasri did. I can also say no defender in the league is capable of shackling Nasri Walcott if isolated with space in-behind. . . WALCOTT!

Nani is a good dribbler, no doubt. It doesnt really matter how good a defender you are, if you are left completely isolated against a very good dribbler(or a very quick player, or both) like Clichy was at times, you'll get owned. If not the first time, then the second, if not the third, then the fourth.

Starboard has some serious daddy-issues. . .

rafael won't keep nani quiet.
Is this the part where i'm supposed to say "is it the same Nani player x put in his pocket"?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: In Fergie We Trust! by ritchboy(m): 1:47am On Dec 22, 2010
with at least 2 of those goals being penalty-kicks. 1 assist in 14 league appearances is also very poor. abeg, this shouldn't even be debated. nani is the most productive player in the whole league. he contributes at least a goal in every league game.
Nasri has only taken one penalty in the league. Aren't you the one who always says "which is easier to score, a penalty or a tap-in"?

Like i said before, Nani has also been brilliant and i'm not going to debate that. But Bale ahead of Nasri is scandalous. . .
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: In Fergie We Trust! by ritchboy(m): 1:16am On Dec 22, 2010
nani will win the player of the year easily. 5 goals + 11 assists in 15 league appearances surpasses whatever nasri brings to the table.
Nasri has what, 8 goals in the league alone?

besides that. when the two players clashed head to head. nani disgraced clichy but a 20-yr old brazilian kept nasri in his underpants for 90 mins.
I can only imagine what Nasri would've done to Clichy if he were a United player. . .

Anyway i'm not going to debate Nani vs Nasri. But Gareth Bale? GTFOH!

stop being a lunkhead. nani and bale have been better than nasri this first half of the season.

I remember a certain punk called Bitchboy making inane comments when I once prognosticated the potential of this Hazard fellow.

The punk asked me why I never predicted Messis potential. Can you imagine such a neanderthal asking why I never saw Messis potential in 2008? I wondered whether he had just emerged from his cave at that moment.

That was the first time this punk ever heard of Hazard, and now he's here lauding the young mans ability.
See this under-privileged fisherman feeling funky. . . I never doubted Hazard's potential.

Are you not the dunce that said Nani is the ONLY player on earth with the potential to be as good as Ronaldo before i mentioned Messi?

That Messi has the potential to be as good as Ronaldo doesnt mean Messi isnt already a world-class player. . .

That Ibime has the potential to live in a gutter doesnt mean Ibime isnt already homeless. . .

Go figure!

Now convince me I made a verbal faux pas in my original statement or can it be just the mention of CR7 that has got the usual suspects up in arms?
You should know by now most folks here arent very bright. . . Once the names Messi, Ronaldo, Zidane etc are mentioned, the little intelligence they have flies out the window. Those names are golden and should never be put in the same paragraph with any other under any circumstance.

To folks like dK, Messi is taller than Crouch, Ronaldo is stronger than Samba, Zidane has more hair than Carroll, etc.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (R.I.P Bawomolo). by ritchboy(m): 9:17am On Dec 21, 2010
If Hazard is WORTH about 20m as a teenager, why can't he be SOLD for 3-4 x that in his prime? Spot the difference. . .

Hazard is easily one of the most promising players on earth.

Anyone who thinks Hazard isn't a potential 60-80m player either (a) never seen the boy play, (b) doesnt know the meaning of the word "potential", (c) has the brain-power of a comatose raccoon. . . Or all the above cheesy
