iSlayer2: Interesting. So PH was an Ibo city according to the CIA. What I picked from this release is the part the report said the non-Ibo minorities "suffered domination" under the Igbo majority Eastern Region. Nice choice of words there. They didn't suffer marginalization or neglect but they deeply loathed the domination of the Ibo in every sector. Interesting. The people in charge in Lagos were quite liberal minded, they actually made a move to reintegrate the returning Igbo population. Nice one. It's a unfortunate those kind of people are absent now,the only thing the current Yoruba elite and populace feel towards the Igbo is unbridled hate.
Que sera sera. You are a bloody liar. Yoruba don't hate Igbos or any other tribe. |

zendy: You people are welcoming people who were fighting to go their way?
You Yorubas dont get it. What the Igbos wanted was not your welcoming hand. What they wanted was to go their way. Igbos fought a war in other not to see anyones welcoming hands. Imagine what they would have been saying todayhad we shun or rejected them then. They would still blame us for perpetrating hatred on them. But that is not who we are. Mind you, we didn't invite them. They came to us on their own volition because their homeland is too small to accommodate their population. This is one reason why Biafra is not possible without the Igbos annexing the south-south by force, which is never going to happen. |

Christianity Etc › Re: Why Are There Many Muslims In Israel by rlauncher(m): 12:00pm On Dec 07, 2017 |
EazyMoh: Your answer is inbedded in a history spanning more than 1000years.For the better part of the last 1000years the city has been under Muslim rule. The only reason why there are still indigenous non-Muslims in the city is simply because the Muslim conquerors (from khalifa Umar Bn Khattab to Salahudden Al Ayyoubi) never expelled them from the city. Instead they were given right to practice their respective religions as long as they do not challenge the Islamic rule of the city. The Islamic rule of the city fell after the WWI to the British. Moslems seized Israel by force until they lost it to the British. The failure of the British government to do the right thing when Israel came under their authority is why Moslems are still claiming rights to Jerusalem today. They gave the best parts of the land of Israel to Jordan and Lebanon because of crude oil in those places. Even after that Moslems still want to claim the little that is left for themselves. Today, River Jordan where John the Baptist baptized the Lord Jesus Christ is in Jordan while Bethlehem where Christ was born is in the same country of Jordan. Travesty of justice committed by the British against the Jews in favour of the Arabs, all because of crude oil. |

Rotimik: This is a good draw for the Super Eagles. They must get the work done in their first two matches against Croatia and Iceland by picking the maximum points from the two matches before confronting Argentina in their last Group D match .
I also hope they beat Argentina this time around as we have lost to them in our previous four World Cup encounter. I would love to see Nigeria beat Argentina again, at least for the first time in the World Cup

The FIFA 2018 World Cup draw has finally been held on Friday, December 1st 2017. The Super Eagles of Nigeria has once again been drawn in the same group as our perennial foe, Argentina in Group D. Our first game , however will be against Croatia, followed by Iceland, while our third and final match in the group will be again Argentina.
Some interesting fixtures also came up. Portugal and Spain were drawn in the same group. Both teams are expected to market out of the group. The toughest group is group F where Germany will be battling it out with Mexico, Sweden and South Korea. The host Russia had a supposedly easy group which includes Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Uruguay. The opening match is between Russia and Egypt.
What do you you think. Do do think Nigeria's Super Eagles will make it to the next round. Give your advice to the team.

blacq2009: Please Nairalanders, what is the root cause of this Igbo/Yoruba rivalry? These two tribes don't see eye to eye. Why is that so? We have always shown kindness to Igbos in Yorubaland, but they have a distorted view of us which hurt very much. No matter how much we try to explain things to them, they just won't listen. They hold on to their preconceived notions about us even when reality (as they live and work among us), proves to them the otherwise .They stick to what they had been brainwashed in the SE to believe about us. Nevertheless, we love Igbo people. We are all Nigerians. Just to inform you, I have Igbo people in my employ, so no hatred. One love. |

bayulll011: 1.Lagos traffic
Heaven knows these is one of the hellish and most annoying thing Lagosian go through daily, all the road are either bad or being in the state of comatose for more than a year due to reconstructuring and slow executions of projects by hes croonics called contractors.
how do you explain the traffic on the island and mainland,u spend most of your time on traffic, you wonder what happen to the fear of lasma we have during fashola regime, all you see is danfo drivers picking and causing traffic in all bus stops.
2.Refuse
lagos has turn to what i called a bin,no street in lagos you will pass through where there will not be gabbages of rubbish in streets, highways etc,he he is clueless on managing waste that was going on fine during fashola era,Ambode gave expatriate to manage the waste in his state these can only be said of someone who is clueless.
3. Infrastructures.
forget all the Elephant project,Ambode is looting Lagos dry,no accountable on all the project in lagos,is either those projects are over budgeted or projected in a manner that one will wonder what's going on,remember Abule Egba bridge and Ojota pedestrian bridge this is just one of those project, and someone should tell him o stop buying generators to power those street,a sensible and visionary leaders envisage and solve problems that may arise in the future not buying generators to police and adding to global warming.
4.Education.
i have not seen anything in these area,Ambode still enjoy all the policies Fashola put into place, fashola build and renovated all the public schools and created some learning and research centres for children with special attributes, but ambode seems not to understand that Lagos populace needs more and viable world class education centres to meet up with the rest of the world.
Amdode has no idea to turn the education of the state around,go to some public school today it will suprise you that some don't have chairs they sit on floor to attends to lectures.
5.Electricity
someone should educate mr Ambode that the whole body of lagos is covered with water, and there is something they called Hydro thermal energy, these can generate more than 34,000 megawatts of electricity and he can sell to neighboring state and earn more money,he should stop buying generators to power all the street light in lagos, this is 2017 for heaven sake the arctic ice is melting, there is global warming he should meet professionals,a nuclear fusion reactors that can be easily shut down by water can serve the whole nation instead of waiting for the unfortunate people at the senate to pass a bill on devolutions of electricity bill that will never see the light of the day.
6.Employment
The lagos state govermnet website advertised some opening recently i will ask how many people was able to apply and get the job,he favored hes croonics, party cheiftance favored the meneber of hes church,no JOB is thrown at the masses,he recruited LASMA recently, where are they today, now neighborhood watch,he waste so much on unproductive projects, most of these projects also take eternity before execution.
Go to street of lagos all you see are hungry and angry youth roaming the street, cos no job which has already paved way to differnet crime in the state,he should come up with idea to employ the common man on the street not all these unproductive job that add nothing to the state.
7.Health.
lagos still don't have viable health scheme,go to our various hospital you will be amazed and cry for us as a nation's,no tools to work on,no word class health equipments you buy bed space, you pay for everything, annoying thing is they fly abroad if they have malaria, lagosian should be wise and these issues of God father has to stop, vote for a sensible and visionary leaders that will add value to your life Your assertions here are all twisted and does not represent the truth about Lagos. I would not claim that Lagos have the best of these infrastructures in the world, but the state is doing its best based on the resources available to it and the more than 24 million people it had to cater for. In Lagos, civil servants and teachers are well caterd for. Graduates earn about N150,000 in the civil service and teaching. The public schools are very good and well equipped, although they are very few compared to the population. Most Lagosians send their kids to private schools. The public health system have since been modernized, very clean and fully staffed, though more are still required because of the growing population. New dual carriageway roads are presently being constructed to open up Epe, Ikorodu, Ibeju-Lekki and Badagry in order to de- conjest Lagos Central . As to whether Governor Ambode is stealing Lagos money, you have no proof. So shut your mouth, and stop spewing trash. |

Obi1kenobi: Why are you quoting me twice?
The overwhelming majority of the largest industries/firms/financial institutions in the 60's were foreign and colonial investments in Lagos: many of which were indigenized post-war. Stop exaggerating as if you were founding major industries all over the South West.
I'm arguing nothing about who was ahead before the war. The point was a massive gap in the corporate industries developed post-war after the SW indigenes who were better poised were able to buy stakes in the firms and Igbos were unable to. And your assertion you were ahead of us in all fields in '66 has been refuted here severally before. Sure in the early decades of the 20th century, Yorubas who had greater access to Western education and trade were the pioneers in most fields producing the first doctors, professors, industry professionals etc. By the 60's we had bridged the gap. At the time UI and UNN were the only universities in Nigeria, Igbos had comfortably more scholars than any other group in the country. The only advantage Igbos thought they had was through job grabbing, not in terms of qualified personnel. We had more doctors, lawyers, engineers, scientist's, management professionals, name it. |

Obi1kenobi: You clearly don't grasp the responsibilities of a government. If there's a financial crash for example and you get banks failing, every responsible government in the world looks to intervene and bail out the failing institutions, so depositors don't lose their money. Deposited money in banks is supposed to be Federally insured. To claim the FG has no responsibility is absurd. And even more absurd in the light of fighting to keep a separatist group in the country, only to abandon them to their own fate after their losses. Why would we be grateful for getting less than we're entitled to? There wasn't anything like Nigeria Deposits Insurance Company at the time. This experience actually led to the formation of NDIC. |

Such a thing does not exist at the time. By the way Nigeria does not have such money. If you are familiar with Nigeria's banking history, you will realize that many banks have gone under in the past without government intervention while accounts holders were given just N50K even though they had millions with the banks. It happened during Babangida and Abacha regimes. |
