MTN closing all its call center in Lagos to open other locations and laying off over 4,500 graduate call center agents to replace them with 2000 OND holders so that they can pay them peanuts.

From August 1st, 4,500 graduates from MTN call centers will be thrown out of job and be replaced with OND holders. That's one of the CHANGE Nigeria is tolerating. Can they try this in South Africa or even Ghana?

Instead of allowing massive smuggling because of the old policy which we give the govt zero income the importers can now come forward cleanly and these goods can be heavily taxed by the govt. These goods invariably will become much more expensive at the local market when compared to the locally manufacturers ones as a result of these tax. Many Nigerias won't be able to afford it which will lead to local options. Local producers will also continue to improve their capabilities to meet up with the imported ones. It's a win win for all.

Instead of blocking the loopholes used by the smugglers, the government is now technically making it a free for all because lifting ban doesn't mean some still won't be smuggled in.

The women of the last generation had to combat with the inculcation of monogamy in their men thanks to Christianity and when it seemed like they were succeeding the "sex sells" adverts started to receive attention. Their target - those with the most money to throw around -men. Then morals boundaries became a question of "how much do you want?" . Women became more open to trading their morals for money. Young men who couldn't meet up were forced to step up and those who did wouldn't settle for less and whenever there appeared a better deal they stepped up yet again and the woman again is left with the shorter end of the stick. This is the reality of most of today's marriages.

The unfortunate thing is that both good women and men are the victims of this vicious cycle and it is not going to end anytime soon.
